بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful.
96:1
ٱقْرَأْ بِٱسْمِ رَبِّكَ ٱلَّذِى خَلَقَ
96:1
Proclaim! (or read!) in the name of thy Lord and Cherisher, Who created- - Abdullah Yusuf Ali (English)
96:2
خَلَقَ ٱلْإِنسَـٰنَ مِنْ عَلَقٍ
96:2
Created man, out of a (mere) clot of congealed blood: - Abdullah Yusuf Ali (English)
96:3
ٱقْرَأْ وَرَبُّكَ ٱلْأَكْرَمُ
96:3
Proclaim! And thy Lord is Most Bountiful,- - Abdullah Yusuf Ali (English)
96:4
ٱلَّذِى عَلَّمَ بِٱلْقَلَمِ
96:4
He Who taught (the use of) the pen,- - Abdullah Yusuf Ali (English)
96:5
عَلَّمَ ٱلْإِنسَـٰنَ مَا لَمْ يَعْلَمْ
96:5
Taught man that which he knew not. - Abdullah Yusuf Ali (English)
96:6
كَلَّآ إِنَّ ٱلْإِنسَـٰنَ لَيَطْغَىٰٓ
96:6
Nay, but man doth transgress all bounds, - Abdullah Yusuf Ali (English)
96:7
أَن رَّءَاهُ ٱسْتَغْنَىٰٓ
96:7
In that he looketh upon himself as self-sufficient. - Abdullah Yusuf Ali (English)
96:8
إِنَّ إِلَىٰ رَبِّكَ ٱلرُّجْعَىٰٓ
96:8
Verily, to thy Lord is the return (of all). - Abdullah Yusuf Ali (English)
96:9
أَرَءَيْتَ ٱلَّذِى يَنْهَىٰ
96:9
Seest thou one who forbids- - Abdullah Yusuf Ali (English)
96:10
عَبْدًا إِذَا صَلَّىٰٓ
96:10
A votary when he (turns) to pray? - Abdullah Yusuf Ali (English)
96:11
أَرَءَيْتَ إِن كَانَ عَلَى ٱلْهُدَىٰٓ
96:11
Seest thou if he is on (the road of) Guidance?- - Abdullah Yusuf Ali (English)
96:12
أَوْ أَمَرَ بِٱلتَّقْوَىٰٓ
96:12
Or enjoins Righteousness? - Abdullah Yusuf Ali (English)
96:13
أَرَءَيْتَ إِن كَذَّبَ وَتَوَلَّىٰٓ
96:13
Seest thou if he denies (Truth) and turns away? - Abdullah Yusuf Ali (English)
96:14
أَلَمْ يَعْلَم بِأَنَّ ٱللَّهَ يَرَىٰ
96:14
Knoweth he not that Allah doth see? - Abdullah Yusuf Ali (English)
96:15
كَلَّا لَئِن لَّمْ يَنتَهِ لَنَسْفَعًۢا بِٱلنَّاصِيَةِ
96:15
Let him beware! If he desist not, We will drag him by the forelock,- - Abdullah Yusuf Ali (English)
96:16
نَاصِيَةٍ كَـٰذِبَةٍ خَاطِئَةٍ
96:16
A lying, sinful forelock! - Abdullah Yusuf Ali (English)
96:17
فَلْيَدْعُ نَادِيَهُۥ
96:17
Then, let him call (for help) to his council (of comrades): - Abdullah Yusuf Ali (English)
96:18
سَنَدْعُ ٱلزَّبَانِيَةَ
96:18
We will call on the angels of punishment (to deal with him)! - Abdullah Yusuf Ali (English)
96:19
كَلَّا لَا تُطِعْهُ وَٱسْجُدْ وَٱقْتَرِب ۩
96:19
Nay, heed him not: But bow down in adoration, and bring thyself the closer (to Allah)! - Abdullah Yusuf Ali (English)
