بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful.
90:1
لَآ أُقْسِمُ بِهَـٰذَا ٱلْبَلَدِ
90:1
I do not (need to) swear by this town (Mecca) - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
90:2
وَأَنتَ حِلٌّۢ بِهَـٰذَا ٱلْبَلَدِ
90:2
in which you are now living - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
90:3
وَوَالِدٍ وَمَا وَلَدَ
90:3
or by the great father and his wonderful son (Abraham and Ishmael) - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
90:4
لَقَدْ خَلَقْنَا ٱلْإِنسَـٰنَ فِى كَبَدٍ
90:4
that We have created the human being to face a great deal of hardship. - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
90:5
أَيَحْسَبُ أَن لَّن يَقْدِرَ عَلَيْهِ أَحَدٌ
90:5
Does He think that no one will ever have control over him? - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
90:6
يَقُولُ أَهْلَكْتُ مَالًا لُّبَدًا
90:6
(He boasts and shows off) saying, "I have spent a great deal of money (for the cause of God)". - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
90:7
أَيَحْسَبُ أَن لَّمْ يَرَهُۥٓ أَحَدٌ
90:7
Does he think that no one has seen him? - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
90:8
أَلَمْ نَجْعَل لَّهُۥ عَيْنَيْنِ
90:8
Have We not given him two eyes, - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
90:9
وَلِسَانًا وَشَفَتَيْنِ
90:9
a tongue, and two lips? - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
90:10
وَهَدَيْنَـٰهُ ٱلنَّجْدَيْنِ
90:10
Have We not shown him the ways of good and evil? - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
90:11
فَلَا ٱقْتَحَمَ ٱلْعَقَبَةَ
90:11
Yet, he has not entered into Aqaba - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
90:12
وَمَآ أَدْرَىٰكَ مَا ٱلْعَقَبَةُ
90:12
Would that you knew what Aqaba is! - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
90:13
فَكُّ رَقَبَةٍ
90:13
It is the setting free of a slave - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
90:14
أَوْ إِطْعَـٰمٌ فِى يَوْمٍ ذِى مَسْغَبَةٍ
90:14
or, in a day of famine, the feeding of - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
90:15
يَتِيمًا ذَا مَقْرَبَةٍ
90:15
an orphaned relative - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
90:16
أَوْ مِسْكِينًا ذَا مَتْرَبَةٍ
90:16
and downtrodden destitute person, (so that he would be of) - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
90:17
ثُمَّ كَانَ مِنَ ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ وَتَوَاصَوْا۟ بِٱلصَّبْرِ وَتَوَاصَوْا۟ بِٱلْمَرْحَمَةِ
90:17
the believers who cooperate with others in patience (steadfastness) and kindness. - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
90:18
أُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَ أَصْحَـٰبُ ٱلْمَيْمَنَةِ
90:18
These are the people of the right hand. - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
90:19
وَٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ بِـَٔايَـٰتِنَا هُمْ أَصْحَـٰبُ ٱلْمَشْـَٔمَةِ
90:19
As for those who disbelieve in Our revelations, they are the people of the left - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
90:20
عَلَيْهِمْ نَارٌ مُّؤْصَدَةٌۢ
90:20
who will be engulfed in the fire. - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
