Transliteration
Wahiduddin Khan
بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful.
75:1
لَآ أُقْسِمُ بِيَوْمِ ٱلْقِيَـٰمَةِ
75:1
I swear by the Day of Resurrection - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
75:2
وَلَآ أُقْسِمُ بِٱلنَّفْسِ ٱللَّوَّامَةِ
75:2
and by the self accusing soul (that you will certainly be resurrected). - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
75:3
أَيَحْسَبُ ٱلْإِنسَـٰنُ أَلَّن نَّجْمَعَ عِظَامَهُۥ
75:3
Do men think that We shall never be able to assemble their bones? - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
75:4
بَلَىٰ قَـٰدِرِينَ عَلَىٰٓ أَن نُّسَوِّىَ بَنَانَهُۥ
75:4
We certainly have the power to restore them even the very tips of their finger. - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
75:5
بَلْ يُرِيدُ ٱلْإِنسَـٰنُ لِيَفْجُرَ أَمَامَهُۥ
75:5
In fact, people want to have eternal life in this world. - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
75:6
يَسْـَٔلُ أَيَّانَ يَوْمُ ٱلْقِيَـٰمَةِ
75:6
He asks, "When will be the Day of Judgment?" - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
75:7
فَإِذَا بَرِقَ ٱلْبَصَرُ
75:7
When the eye is bewildered, - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
75:8
وَخَسَفَ ٱلْقَمَرُ
75:8
the moon eclipsed. - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
75:9
وَجُمِعَ ٱلشَّمْسُ وَٱلْقَمَرُ
75:9
and the sun and the moon are brought together, - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
75:10
يَقُولُ ٱلْإِنسَـٰنُ يَوْمَئِذٍ أَيْنَ ٱلْمَفَرُّ
75:10
people will say, "Is there anywhere to run away?" - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
75:11
كَلَّا لَا وَزَرَ
75:11
Certainly not! There will be no place of refuge. - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
75:12
إِلَىٰ رَبِّكَ يَوْمَئِذٍ ٱلْمُسْتَقَرُّ
75:12
The only place of refuge will be with God. - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
75:13
يُنَبَّؤُا۟ ٱلْإِنسَـٰنُ يَوْمَئِذٍۭ بِمَا قَدَّمَ وَأَخَّرَ
75:13
On that day, people will be informed of all that they had done and all that they were supposed to do. - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
75:14
بَلِ ٱلْإِنسَـٰنُ عَلَىٰ نَفْسِهِۦ بَصِيرَةٌ
75:14
In fact, people are well-aware of their own soul - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
75:15
وَلَوْ أَلْقَىٰ مَعَاذِيرَهُۥ
75:15
even though they make excuses. - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
75:16
لَا تُحَرِّكْ بِهِۦ لِسَانَكَ لِتَعْجَلَ بِهِۦٓ
75:16
(Muhammad), do not move your tongue too quickly to recite the Quran. - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
75:17
إِنَّ عَلَيْنَا جَمْعَهُۥ وَقُرْءَانَهُۥ
75:17
We shall be responsible for its collection and its recitation. - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
75:18
فَإِذَا قَرَأْنَـٰهُ فَٱتَّبِعْ قُرْءَانَهُۥ
75:18
When We recite it, follow its recitation (by Us). - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
75:19
ثُمَّ إِنَّ عَلَيْنَا بَيَانَهُۥ
75:19
We shall be responsible for its explanation. - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
75:20
كَلَّا بَلْ تُحِبُّونَ ٱلْعَاجِلَةَ
75:20
Human beings certainly do not want to pay much attention to the Quran. In fact, they love the worldly life - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
75:21
وَتَذَرُونَ ٱلْـَٔاخِرَةَ
75:21
and neglect the life to come. - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
75:22
وُجُوهٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ نَّاضِرَةٌ
75:22
On the Day of Judgment some faces will be bright, - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
75:23
إِلَىٰ رَبِّهَا نَاظِرَةٌ
75:23
and look forward to receiving mercy from their Lord. - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
75:24
وَوُجُوهٌ يَوْمَئِذٍۭ بَاسِرَةٌ
75:24
Others will be despondent, - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
75:25
تَظُنُّ أَن يُفْعَلَ بِهَا فَاقِرَةٌ
75:25
certain of facing a great calamity. - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
75:26
كَلَّآ إِذَا بَلَغَتِ ٱلتَّرَاقِىَ
75:26
Some people, certainly, do not believe in it, but when a person's soul reaches up to his throat - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
75:27
وَقِيلَ مَنْ ۜ رَاقٍ
75:27
and the angels say, "Who will take away his soul, - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
75:28
وَظَنَّ أَنَّهُ ٱلْفِرَاقُ
75:28
(the angels of mercy or the angels of wrath,)" then, he will realize that it is time to leave this world. - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
75:29
وَٱلْتَفَّتِ ٱلسَّاقُ بِٱلسَّاقِ
75:29
When legs are twisted around each other, - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
75:30
إِلَىٰ رَبِّكَ يَوْمَئِذٍ ٱلْمَسَاقُ
75:30
that will be the time to be driven to one's Lord. - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
75:31
فَلَا صَدَّقَ وَلَا صَلَّىٰ
75:31
The human being does not want to believe the Truth, nor does he want to pray. - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
75:32
وَلَـٰكِن كَذَّبَ وَتَوَلَّىٰ
75:32
He rejects the faith, turns away - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
75:33
ثُمَّ ذَهَبَ إِلَىٰٓ أَهْلِهِۦ يَتَمَطَّىٰٓ
75:33
and haughtily goes to his people. - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
75:34
أَوْلَىٰ لَكَ فَأَوْلَىٰ
75:34
Woe to you! - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
75:35
ثُمَّ أَوْلَىٰ لَكَ فَأَوْلَىٰٓ
75:35
Woe to you! - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
75:36
أَيَحْسَبُ ٱلْإِنسَـٰنُ أَن يُتْرَكَ سُدًى
75:36
For you, the human being of such behavior, will certainly deserve it. - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
75:37
أَلَمْ يَكُ نُطْفَةً مِّن مَّنِىٍّ يُمْنَىٰ
75:37
Does the human being think that he will be left uncontrolled? - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
75:38
ثُمَّ كَانَ عَلَقَةً فَخَلَقَ فَسَوَّىٰ
75:38
Was he not once just a drop of discharged sperm. - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
75:39
فَجَعَلَ مِنْهُ ٱلزَّوْجَيْنِ ٱلذَّكَرَ وَٱلْأُنثَىٰٓ
75:39
Was he not turned into a clot of blood? God then formed him and gave him proper shape. From the human being, God made males and females in pairs. - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
75:40
أَلَيْسَ ذَٰلِكَ بِقَـٰدِرٍ عَلَىٰٓ أَن يُحْـِۧىَ ٱلْمَوْتَىٰ
75:40
Does He then not have the power to bring the dead back to life? - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
