Transliteration
Wahiduddin Khan
بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful.
75:1
لَآ أُقْسِمُ بِيَوْمِ ٱلْقِيَـٰمَةِ
75:1
I swear by the Day of Resurrection. - Talal Itani (English)
75:2
وَلَآ أُقْسِمُ بِٱلنَّفْسِ ٱللَّوَّامَةِ
75:2
And I swear by the blaming soul. - Talal Itani (English)
75:3
أَيَحْسَبُ ٱلْإِنسَـٰنُ أَلَّن نَّجْمَعَ عِظَامَهُۥ
75:3
Does man think that We will not reassemble his bones? - Talal Itani (English)
75:4
بَلَىٰ قَـٰدِرِينَ عَلَىٰٓ أَن نُّسَوِّىَ بَنَانَهُۥ
75:4
Yes indeed; We are Able to reconstruct his fingertips. - Talal Itani (English)
75:5
بَلْ يُرِيدُ ٱلْإِنسَـٰنُ لِيَفْجُرَ أَمَامَهُۥ
75:5
But man wants to deny what is ahead of him. - Talal Itani (English)
75:6
يَسْـَٔلُ أَيَّانَ يَوْمُ ٱلْقِيَـٰمَةِ
75:6
He asks, “When is the Day of Resurrection?” - Talal Itani (English)
75:7
فَإِذَا بَرِقَ ٱلْبَصَرُ
75:7
When vision is dazzled. - Talal Itani (English)
75:8
وَخَسَفَ ٱلْقَمَرُ
75:8
And the moon is eclipsed. - Talal Itani (English)
75:9
وَجُمِعَ ٱلشَّمْسُ وَٱلْقَمَرُ
75:9
And the sun and the moon are joined together. - Talal Itani (English)
75:10
يَقُولُ ٱلْإِنسَـٰنُ يَوْمَئِذٍ أَيْنَ ٱلْمَفَرُّ
75:10
On that Day, man will say, “Where is the escape?” - Talal Itani (English)
75:11
كَلَّا لَا وَزَرَ
75:11
No indeed! There is no refuge. - Talal Itani (English)
75:12
إِلَىٰ رَبِّكَ يَوْمَئِذٍ ٱلْمُسْتَقَرُّ
75:12
To your Lord on that Day is the settlement. - Talal Itani (English)
75:13
يُنَبَّؤُا۟ ٱلْإِنسَـٰنُ يَوْمَئِذٍۭ بِمَا قَدَّمَ وَأَخَّرَ
75:13
On that Day man will be informed of everything he put forward, and everything he left behind. - Talal Itani (English)
75:14
بَلِ ٱلْإِنسَـٰنُ عَلَىٰ نَفْسِهِۦ بَصِيرَةٌ
75:14
And man will be evidence against himself. - Talal Itani (English)
75:15
وَلَوْ أَلْقَىٰ مَعَاذِيرَهُۥ
75:15
Even as he presents his excuses. - Talal Itani (English)
75:16
لَا تُحَرِّكْ بِهِۦ لِسَانَكَ لِتَعْجَلَ بِهِۦٓ
75:16
Do not wag your tongue with it, to hurry on with it. - Talal Itani (English)
75:17
إِنَّ عَلَيْنَا جَمْعَهُۥ وَقُرْءَانَهُۥ
75:17
Upon Us is its collection and its recitation. - Talal Itani (English)
75:18
فَإِذَا قَرَأْنَـٰهُ فَٱتَّبِعْ قُرْءَانَهُۥ
75:18
Then, when We have recited it, follow its recitation. - Talal Itani (English)
75:19
ثُمَّ إِنَّ عَلَيْنَا بَيَانَهُۥ
75:19
Then upon Us is its explanation. - Talal Itani (English)
75:20
كَلَّا بَلْ تُحِبُّونَ ٱلْعَاجِلَةَ
75:20
Alas, you love the fleeting life. - Talal Itani (English)
75:21
وَتَذَرُونَ ٱلْـَٔاخِرَةَ
75:21
And you disregard the Hereafter. - Talal Itani (English)
75:22
وُجُوهٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ نَّاضِرَةٌ
75:22
Faces on that Day will be radiant. - Talal Itani (English)
75:23
إِلَىٰ رَبِّهَا نَاظِرَةٌ
75:23
Looking towards their Lord. - Talal Itani (English)
75:24
وَوُجُوهٌ يَوْمَئِذٍۭ بَاسِرَةٌ
75:24
And faces on that Day will be gloomy. - Talal Itani (English)
75:25
تَظُنُّ أَن يُفْعَلَ بِهَا فَاقِرَةٌ
75:25
Realizing that a back-breaker has befallen them. - Talal Itani (English)
75:26
كَلَّآ إِذَا بَلَغَتِ ٱلتَّرَاقِىَ
75:26
Indeed, when it has reached the breast-bones. - Talal Itani (English)
75:27
وَقِيلَ مَنْ ۜ رَاقٍ
75:27
And it is said, “Who is the healer?” - Talal Itani (English)
75:28
وَظَنَّ أَنَّهُ ٱلْفِرَاقُ
75:28
And He realizes that it is the parting. - Talal Itani (English)
75:29
وَٱلْتَفَّتِ ٱلسَّاقُ بِٱلسَّاقِ
75:29
And leg is entwined with leg. - Talal Itani (English)
75:30
إِلَىٰ رَبِّكَ يَوْمَئِذٍ ٱلْمَسَاقُ
75:30
To your Lord on that Day is the drive. - Talal Itani (English)
75:31
فَلَا صَدَّقَ وَلَا صَلَّىٰ
75:31
He neither believed nor prayed. - Talal Itani (English)
75:32
وَلَـٰكِن كَذَّبَ وَتَوَلَّىٰ
75:32
But he denied and turned away. - Talal Itani (English)
75:33
ثُمَّ ذَهَبَ إِلَىٰٓ أَهْلِهِۦ يَتَمَطَّىٰٓ
75:33
Then he went to his family, full of pride. - Talal Itani (English)
75:34
أَوْلَىٰ لَكَ فَأَوْلَىٰ
75:34
Woe to you; and woe. - Talal Itani (English)
75:35
ثُمَّ أَوْلَىٰ لَكَ فَأَوْلَىٰٓ
75:35
Then again: Woe to you; and woe. - Talal Itani (English)
75:36
أَيَحْسَبُ ٱلْإِنسَـٰنُ أَن يُتْرَكَ سُدًى
75:36
Does man think that he will be left without purpose? - Talal Itani (English)
75:37
أَلَمْ يَكُ نُطْفَةً مِّن مَّنِىٍّ يُمْنَىٰ
75:37
Was he not a drop of ejaculated semen? - Talal Itani (English)
75:38
ثُمَّ كَانَ عَلَقَةً فَخَلَقَ فَسَوَّىٰ
75:38
Then he became a clot. And He created and proportioned? - Talal Itani (English)
75:39
فَجَعَلَ مِنْهُ ٱلزَّوْجَيْنِ ٱلذَّكَرَ وَٱلْأُنثَىٰٓ
75:39
And made of him the two sexes, the male and the female? - Talal Itani (English)
75:40
أَلَيْسَ ذَٰلِكَ بِقَـٰدِرٍ عَلَىٰٓ أَن يُحْـِۧىَ ٱلْمَوْتَىٰ
75:40
Is He not Able to revive the dead? - Talal Itani (English)
