Transliteration
Wahiduddin Khan
بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful.
75:1
لَآ أُقْسِمُ بِيَوْمِ ٱلْقِيَـٰمَةِ
75:1
I swear by the Day of Resurrection - Saheeh International (English)
75:2
وَلَآ أُقْسِمُ بِٱلنَّفْسِ ٱللَّوَّامَةِ
75:2
And I swear by the reproaching soul [to the certainty of resurrection]. - Saheeh International (English)
75:3
أَيَحْسَبُ ٱلْإِنسَـٰنُ أَلَّن نَّجْمَعَ عِظَامَهُۥ
75:3
Does man think that We will not assemble his bones? - Saheeh International (English)
75:4
بَلَىٰ قَـٰدِرِينَ عَلَىٰٓ أَن نُّسَوِّىَ بَنَانَهُۥ
75:4
Yes. [We are] Able [even] to proportion his fingertips. - Saheeh International (English)
75:5
بَلْ يُرِيدُ ٱلْإِنسَـٰنُ لِيَفْجُرَ أَمَامَهُۥ
75:5
But man desires to continue in sin. - Saheeh International (English)
75:6
يَسْـَٔلُ أَيَّانَ يَوْمُ ٱلْقِيَـٰمَةِ
75:6
He asks, "When is the Day of Resurrection?" - Saheeh International (English)
75:7
فَإِذَا بَرِقَ ٱلْبَصَرُ
75:7
So when vision is dazzled - Saheeh International (English)
75:8
وَخَسَفَ ٱلْقَمَرُ
75:8
And the moon darkens - Saheeh International (English)
75:9
وَجُمِعَ ٱلشَّمْسُ وَٱلْقَمَرُ
75:9
And the sun and the moon are joined, - Saheeh International (English)
75:10
يَقُولُ ٱلْإِنسَـٰنُ يَوْمَئِذٍ أَيْنَ ٱلْمَفَرُّ
75:10
Man will say on that Day, "Where is the [place of] escape?" - Saheeh International (English)
75:11
كَلَّا لَا وَزَرَ
75:11
No! There is no refuge. - Saheeh International (English)
75:12
إِلَىٰ رَبِّكَ يَوْمَئِذٍ ٱلْمُسْتَقَرُّ
75:12
To your Lord, that Day, is the [place of] permanence. - Saheeh International (English)
75:13
يُنَبَّؤُا۟ ٱلْإِنسَـٰنُ يَوْمَئِذٍۭ بِمَا قَدَّمَ وَأَخَّرَ
75:13
Man will be informed that Day of what he sent ahead and kept back. - Saheeh International (English)
75:14
بَلِ ٱلْإِنسَـٰنُ عَلَىٰ نَفْسِهِۦ بَصِيرَةٌ
75:14
Rather, man, against himself, will be a witness, - Saheeh International (English)
75:15
وَلَوْ أَلْقَىٰ مَعَاذِيرَهُۥ
75:15
Even if he presents his excuses. - Saheeh International (English)
75:16
لَا تُحَرِّكْ بِهِۦ لِسَانَكَ لِتَعْجَلَ بِهِۦٓ
75:16
Move not your tongue with it, [O Muhammad], to hasten with recitation of the Qur'an. - Saheeh International (English)
75:17
إِنَّ عَلَيْنَا جَمْعَهُۥ وَقُرْءَانَهُۥ
75:17
Indeed, upon Us is its collection [in your heart] and [to make possible] its recitation. - Saheeh International (English)
75:18
فَإِذَا قَرَأْنَـٰهُ فَٱتَّبِعْ قُرْءَانَهُۥ
75:18
So when We have recited it [through Gabriel], then follow its recitation. - Saheeh International (English)
75:19
ثُمَّ إِنَّ عَلَيْنَا بَيَانَهُۥ
75:19
Then upon Us is its clarification [to you]. - Saheeh International (English)
75:20
كَلَّا بَلْ تُحِبُّونَ ٱلْعَاجِلَةَ
75:20
No! But you love the immediate - Saheeh International (English)
75:21
وَتَذَرُونَ ٱلْـَٔاخِرَةَ
75:21
And leave the Hereafter. - Saheeh International (English)
75:22
وُجُوهٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ نَّاضِرَةٌ
75:22
[Some] faces, that Day, will be radiant, - Saheeh International (English)
75:23
إِلَىٰ رَبِّهَا نَاظِرَةٌ
75:23
Looking at their Lord. - Saheeh International (English)
75:24
وَوُجُوهٌ يَوْمَئِذٍۭ بَاسِرَةٌ
75:24
And [some] faces, that Day, will be contorted, - Saheeh International (English)
75:25
تَظُنُّ أَن يُفْعَلَ بِهَا فَاقِرَةٌ
75:25
Expecting that there will be done to them [something] backbreaking. - Saheeh International (English)
75:26
كَلَّآ إِذَا بَلَغَتِ ٱلتَّرَاقِىَ
75:26
No! When the soul has reached the collar bones - Saheeh International (English)
75:27
وَقِيلَ مَنْ ۜ رَاقٍ
75:27
And it is said, "Who will cure [him]?" - Saheeh International (English)
75:28
وَظَنَّ أَنَّهُ ٱلْفِرَاقُ
75:28
And the dying one is certain that it is the [time of] separation - Saheeh International (English)
75:29
وَٱلْتَفَّتِ ٱلسَّاقُ بِٱلسَّاقِ
75:29
And the leg is wound about the leg, - Saheeh International (English)
75:30
إِلَىٰ رَبِّكَ يَوْمَئِذٍ ٱلْمَسَاقُ
75:30
To your Lord, that Day, will be the procession. - Saheeh International (English)
75:31
فَلَا صَدَّقَ وَلَا صَلَّىٰ
75:31
And the disbeliever had not believed, nor had he prayed. - Saheeh International (English)
75:32
وَلَـٰكِن كَذَّبَ وَتَوَلَّىٰ
75:32
But [instead], he denied and turned away. - Saheeh International (English)
75:33
ثُمَّ ذَهَبَ إِلَىٰٓ أَهْلِهِۦ يَتَمَطَّىٰٓ
75:33
And then he went to his people, swaggering [in pride]. - Saheeh International (English)
75:34
أَوْلَىٰ لَكَ فَأَوْلَىٰ
75:34
Woe to you, and woe! - Saheeh International (English)
75:35
ثُمَّ أَوْلَىٰ لَكَ فَأَوْلَىٰٓ
75:35
Then woe to you, and woe! - Saheeh International (English)
75:36
أَيَحْسَبُ ٱلْإِنسَـٰنُ أَن يُتْرَكَ سُدًى
75:36
Does man think that he will be left neglected? - Saheeh International (English)
75:37
أَلَمْ يَكُ نُطْفَةً مِّن مَّنِىٍّ يُمْنَىٰ
75:37
Had he not been a sperm from semen emitted? - Saheeh International (English)
75:38
ثُمَّ كَانَ عَلَقَةً فَخَلَقَ فَسَوَّىٰ
75:38
Then he was a clinging clot, and [Allah] created [his form] and proportioned [him] - Saheeh International (English)
75:39
فَجَعَلَ مِنْهُ ٱلزَّوْجَيْنِ ٱلذَّكَرَ وَٱلْأُنثَىٰٓ
75:39
And made of him two mates, the male and the female. - Saheeh International (English)
75:40
أَلَيْسَ ذَٰلِكَ بِقَـٰدِرٍ عَلَىٰٓ أَن يُحْـِۧىَ ٱلْمَوْتَىٰ
75:40
Is not that [Creator] Able to give life to the dead? - Saheeh International (English)
