Transliteration
Wahiduddin Khan
بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful.
75:1
لَآ أُقْسِمُ بِيَوْمِ ٱلْقِيَـٰمَةِ
75:1
Nay! I swear by the day of resurrection. - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
75:2
وَلَآ أُقْسِمُ بِٱلنَّفْسِ ٱللَّوَّامَةِ
75:2
Nay! I swear by the self-accusing soul. - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
75:3
أَيَحْسَبُ ٱلْإِنسَـٰنُ أَلَّن نَّجْمَعَ عِظَامَهُۥ
75:3
Does man think that We shall not gather his bones? - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
75:4
بَلَىٰ قَـٰدِرِينَ عَلَىٰٓ أَن نُّسَوِّىَ بَنَانَهُۥ
75:4
Yea! We are able to make complete his very fingertips - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
75:5
بَلْ يُرِيدُ ٱلْإِنسَـٰنُ لِيَفْجُرَ أَمَامَهُۥ
75:5
Nay! man desires to give the lie to what is before him. - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
75:6
يَسْـَٔلُ أَيَّانَ يَوْمُ ٱلْقِيَـٰمَةِ
75:6
He asks: When is the day of resurrection? - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
75:7
فَإِذَا بَرِقَ ٱلْبَصَرُ
75:7
So when the sight becomes dazed, - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
75:8
وَخَسَفَ ٱلْقَمَرُ
75:8
And the moon becomes dark, - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
75:9
وَجُمِعَ ٱلشَّمْسُ وَٱلْقَمَرُ
75:9
And the sun and the moon are brought together, - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
75:10
يَقُولُ ٱلْإِنسَـٰنُ يَوْمَئِذٍ أَيْنَ ٱلْمَفَرُّ
75:10
Man shall say on that day: Whither to fly to? - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
75:11
كَلَّا لَا وَزَرَ
75:11
By no means! there shall be no place of refuge! - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
75:12
إِلَىٰ رَبِّكَ يَوْمَئِذٍ ٱلْمُسْتَقَرُّ
75:12
With your Lord alone shall on that day be the place of rest. - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
75:13
يُنَبَّؤُا۟ ٱلْإِنسَـٰنُ يَوْمَئِذٍۭ بِمَا قَدَّمَ وَأَخَّرَ
75:13
Man shall on that day be informed of what he sent before and (what he) put off. - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
75:14
بَلِ ٱلْإِنسَـٰنُ عَلَىٰ نَفْسِهِۦ بَصِيرَةٌ
75:14
Nay! man is evidence against himself, - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
75:15
وَلَوْ أَلْقَىٰ مَعَاذِيرَهُۥ
75:15
Though he puts forth his excuses. - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
75:16
لَا تُحَرِّكْ بِهِۦ لِسَانَكَ لِتَعْجَلَ بِهِۦٓ
75:16
Do not move your tongue with it to make haste with it, - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
75:17
إِنَّ عَلَيْنَا جَمْعَهُۥ وَقُرْءَانَهُۥ
75:17
Surely on Us (devolves) the collecting of it and the reciting of it. - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
75:18
فَإِذَا قَرَأْنَـٰهُ فَٱتَّبِعْ قُرْءَانَهُۥ
75:18
Therefore when We have recited it, follow its recitation. - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
75:19
ثُمَّ إِنَّ عَلَيْنَا بَيَانَهُۥ
75:19
Again on Us (devolves) the explaining of it. - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
75:20
كَلَّا بَلْ تُحِبُّونَ ٱلْعَاجِلَةَ
75:20
Nay! But you love the present life, - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
75:21
وَتَذَرُونَ ٱلْـَٔاخِرَةَ
75:21
And neglect the hereafter. - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
75:22
وُجُوهٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ نَّاضِرَةٌ
75:22
(Some) faces on that day shall be bright, - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
75:23
إِلَىٰ رَبِّهَا نَاظِرَةٌ
75:23
Looking to their Lord. - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
75:24
وَوُجُوهٌ يَوْمَئِذٍۭ بَاسِرَةٌ
75:24
And (other) faces on that day shall be gloomy, - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
75:25
تَظُنُّ أَن يُفْعَلَ بِهَا فَاقِرَةٌ
75:25
Knowing that there will be made to befall them some great calamity. - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
75:26
كَلَّآ إِذَا بَلَغَتِ ٱلتَّرَاقِىَ
75:26
Nay! When it comes up to the throat, - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
75:27
وَقِيلَ مَنْ ۜ رَاقٍ
75:27
And it is said: Who will be a magician? - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
75:28
وَظَنَّ أَنَّهُ ٱلْفِرَاقُ
75:28
And he is sure that it is the (hour of) parting - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
75:29
وَٱلْتَفَّتِ ٱلسَّاقُ بِٱلسَّاقِ
75:29
And affliction is combined with affliction; - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
75:30
إِلَىٰ رَبِّكَ يَوْمَئِذٍ ٱلْمَسَاقُ
75:30
To your Lord on that day shall be the driving. - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
75:31
فَلَا صَدَّقَ وَلَا صَلَّىٰ
75:31
So he did not accept the truth, nor did he pray, - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
75:32
وَلَـٰكِن كَذَّبَ وَتَوَلَّىٰ
75:32
But called the truth a lie and turned back, - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
75:33
ثُمَّ ذَهَبَ إِلَىٰٓ أَهْلِهِۦ يَتَمَطَّىٰٓ
75:33
Then he went to his followers, walking away in haughtiness. - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
75:34
أَوْلَىٰ لَكَ فَأَوْلَىٰ
75:34
Nearer to you (is destruction) and nearer, - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
75:35
ثُمَّ أَوْلَىٰ لَكَ فَأَوْلَىٰٓ
75:35
Again (consider how) nearer to you and nearer. - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
75:36
أَيَحْسَبُ ٱلْإِنسَـٰنُ أَن يُتْرَكَ سُدًى
75:36
Does man think that he is to be left to wander without an aim? - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
75:37
أَلَمْ يَكُ نُطْفَةً مِّن مَّنِىٍّ يُمْنَىٰ
75:37
Was he not a small seed in the seminal elements, - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
75:38
ثُمَّ كَانَ عَلَقَةً فَخَلَقَ فَسَوَّىٰ
75:38
Then he was a clot of blood, so He created (him) then made (him) perfect. - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
75:39
فَجَعَلَ مِنْهُ ٱلزَّوْجَيْنِ ٱلذَّكَرَ وَٱلْأُنثَىٰٓ
75:39
Then He made of him two kinds, the male and the female. - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
75:40
أَلَيْسَ ذَٰلِكَ بِقَـٰدِرٍ عَلَىٰٓ أَن يُحْـِۧىَ ٱلْمَوْتَىٰ
75:40
Is not He able to give life to the dead? - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
