بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful.
26:1
طسٓمٓ
26:1
Ta. Sin. Mim. - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
26:2
تِلْكَ ءَايَـٰتُ ٱلْكِتَـٰبِ ٱلْمُبِينِ
26:2
These are the verses of the illustrious Book. - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
26:3
لَعَلَّكَ بَـٰخِعٌ نَّفْسَكَ أَلَّا يَكُونُوا۟ مُؤْمِنِينَ
26:3
You will perhaps kill yourself with anguish because they are not accepting the faith. - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
26:4
إِن نَّشَأْ نُنَزِّلْ عَلَيْهِم مِّنَ ٱلسَّمَآءِ ءَايَةً فَظَلَّتْ أَعْنَـٰقُهُمْ لَهَا خَـٰضِعِينَ
26:4
Had We wanted, We would have sent them a miracle from the sky to make their heads hang down in submission. - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
26:5
وَمَا يَأْتِيهِم مِّن ذِكْرٍ مِّنَ ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ مُحْدَثٍ إِلَّا كَانُوا۟ عَنْهُ مُعْرِضِينَ
26:5
Whenever a new message comes to them from the Beneficent God, they turn away from it. - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
26:6
فَقَدْ كَذَّبُوا۟ فَسَيَأْتِيهِمْ أَنۢبَـٰٓؤُا۟ مَا كَانُوا۟ بِهِۦ يَسْتَهْزِءُونَ
26:6
They have called (our revelation) lies. They will soon learn the consequences of what they mocked. - Muhammad Sarwar (English)

أَوَلَمْ يَرَوْا۟ إِلَى ٱلْأَرْضِ كَمْ أَنۢبَتْنَا فِيهَا مِن كُلِّ زَوْجٍ كَرِيمٍ
26:7
Have they not seen the earth in which We have made gracious plants grow? - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
26:8
إِنَّ فِى ذَٰلِكَ لَـَٔايَةً ۖ وَمَا كَانَ أَكْثَرُهُم مُّؤْمِنِينَ
26:8
In this there is, certainly, evidence (of the Truth). But most of them have no faith. - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
26:9
وَإِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَهُوَ ٱلْعَزِيزُ ٱلرَّحِيمُ
26:9
Your Lord is the Majestic and the All-merciful. - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
26:10
وَإِذْ نَادَىٰ رَبُّكَ مُوسَىٰٓ أَنِ ٱئْتِ ٱلْقَوْمَ ٱلظَّـٰلِمِينَ
26:10
When Your Lord told Moses to go to the unjust people of the Pharaoh - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
26:11
قَوْمَ فِرْعَوْنَ ۚ أَلَا يَتَّقُونَ
26:11
and ask them, "Why do you not fear God?" - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
26:12
قَالَ رَبِّ إِنِّىٓ أَخَافُ أَن يُكَذِّبُونِ
26:12
He replied, "Lord, I am afraid that they will call me a liar. - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
26:13
وَيَضِيقُ صَدْرِى وَلَا يَنطَلِقُ لِسَانِى فَأَرْسِلْ إِلَىٰ هَـٰرُونَ
26:13
I feel nervous and my tongue is not fluent, so send Aaron with me. - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
26:14
وَلَهُمْ عَلَىَّ ذَنۢبٌ فَأَخَافُ أَن يَقْتُلُونِ
26:14
They have charged me [with a crime] for which I am afraid they will kill me." - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
26:15
قَالَ كَلَّا ۖ فَٱذْهَبَا بِـَٔايَـٰتِنَآ ۖ إِنَّا مَعَكُم مُّسْتَمِعُونَ
26:15
The Lord said, "Have no fear, both of you go with Our miracles. We shall closely listen to you." - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
26:16
فَأْتِيَا فِرْعَوْنَ فَقُولَآ إِنَّا رَسُولُ رَبِّ ٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ
26:16
They came to the Pharaoh and said, "We are the Messengerss of the Lord of the Universe. - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
26:17
أَنْ أَرْسِلْ مَعَنَا بَنِىٓ إِسْرَٰٓءِيلَ
26:17
Send the Israelites with us". - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
26:18
قَالَ أَلَمْ نُرَبِّكَ فِينَا وَلِيدًا وَلَبِثْتَ فِينَا مِنْ عُمُرِكَ سِنِينَ
26:18
The Pharaoh said, "Did we not bring you up in our home as an infant and did you not live with us for many years - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
26:19
وَفَعَلْتَ فَعْلَتَكَ ٱلَّتِى فَعَلْتَ وَأَنتَ مِنَ ٱلْكَـٰفِرِينَ
26:19
and you did the deed which you did. You are certainly ungrateful." - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
26:20
قَالَ فَعَلْتُهَآ إِذًا وَأَنَا۠ مِنَ ٱلضَّآلِّينَ
26:20
Moses said, "I did do it and I made a mistake. - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
26:21
فَفَرَرْتُ مِنكُمْ لَمَّا خِفْتُكُمْ فَوَهَبَ لِى رَبِّى حُكْمًا وَجَعَلَنِى مِنَ ٱلْمُرْسَلِينَ
26:21
Then I ran away from you in fear, but my Lord granted me the law and has appointed me as a Messenger. - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
26:22
وَتِلْكَ نِعْمَةٌ تَمُنُّهَا عَلَىَّ أَنْ عَبَّدتَّ بَنِىٓ إِسْرَٰٓءِيلَ
26:22
And this is the favor with which you oblige me: You have made the Israelites your slaves. - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
26:23
قَالَ فِرْعَوْنُ وَمَا رَبُّ ٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ
26:23
The Pharaoh asked, "Who is the Lord of the Universe?" - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
26:24
قَالَ رَبُّ ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَآ ۖ إِن كُنتُم مُّوقِنِينَ
26:24
Moses replied, "The Lord of the heavens and the earth and all that is between them, if you want to be certain". - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
26:25
قَالَ لِمَنْ حَوْلَهُۥٓ أَلَا تَسْتَمِعُونَ
26:25
The Pharaoh said to the people around him, "Did you hear that?" - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
26:26
قَالَ رَبُّكُمْ وَرَبُّ ءَابَآئِكُمُ ٱلْأَوَّلِينَ
26:26
Moses continued, "He is the Lord and the Lord of your forefathers." - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
26:27
قَالَ إِنَّ رَسُولَكُمُ ٱلَّذِىٓ أُرْسِلَ إِلَيْكُمْ لَمَجْنُونٌ
26:27
The Pharaoh said, "The Messengers who has been sent to you is certainly insane". - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
26:28
قَالَ رَبُّ ٱلْمَشْرِقِ وَٱلْمَغْرِبِ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَآ ۖ إِن كُنتُمْ تَعْقِلُونَ
26:28
Moses continued, "He is the Lord of the East and West and all that is between them, if only you would think". - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
26:29
قَالَ لَئِنِ ٱتَّخَذْتَ إِلَـٰهًا غَيْرِى لَأَجْعَلَنَّكَ مِنَ ٱلْمَسْجُونِينَ
26:29
Pharaoh said, "If you put forward any god other than me, I will surely put you in prison". - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
26:30
قَالَ أَوَلَوْ جِئْتُكَ بِشَىْءٍ مُّبِينٍ
26:30
Moses asked, "What if I were to bring you clear proof (of the existence of God)?" - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
26:31
قَالَ فَأْتِ بِهِۦٓ إِن كُنتَ مِنَ ٱلصَّـٰدِقِينَ
26:31
The Pharaoh replied, "Bring it, if you are telling the truth." - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
26:32
فَأَلْقَىٰ عَصَاهُ فَإِذَا هِىَ ثُعْبَانٌ مُّبِينٌ
26:32
Moses threw his staff and suddenly it became a serpent. - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
26:33
وَنَزَعَ يَدَهُۥ فَإِذَا هِىَ بَيْضَآءُ لِلنَّـٰظِرِينَ
26:33
Then he uncovered his hand and it was sheer white to the onlookers. - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
26:34
قَالَ لِلْمَلَإِ حَوْلَهُۥٓ إِنَّ هَـٰذَا لَسَـٰحِرٌ عَلِيمٌ
26:34
The Pharaoh said to the people around him, "He is certainly a skillful magician. - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
26:35
يُرِيدُ أَن يُخْرِجَكُم مِّنْ أَرْضِكُم بِسِحْرِهِۦ فَمَاذَا تَأْمُرُونَ
26:35
He wants to expel you from your land through his magic. What is your opinion?" - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
26:36
قَالُوٓا۟ أَرْجِهْ وَأَخَاهُ وَٱبْعَثْ فِى ٱلْمَدَآئِنِ حَـٰشِرِينَ
26:36
They said, "Hold him and his brother off for a while - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
26:37
يَأْتُوكَ بِكُلِّ سَحَّارٍ عَلِيمٍ
26:37
and summon every skillful magician from all the cities." - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
26:38
فَجُمِعَ ٱلسَّحَرَةُ لِمِيقَـٰتِ يَوْمٍ مَّعْلُومٍ
26:38
So all the magicians gathered together - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
26:39
وَقِيلَ لِلنَّاسِ هَلْ أَنتُم مُّجْتَمِعُونَ
26:39
at the appointed time - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
26:40
لَعَلَّنَا نَتَّبِعُ ٱلسَّحَرَةَ إِن كَانُوا۟ هُمُ ٱلْغَـٰلِبِينَ
26:40
and the people were asked, "Will you all be there so that we may follow the magicians if they become victorious?" - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
26:41
فَلَمَّا جَآءَ ٱلسَّحَرَةُ قَالُوا۟ لِفِرْعَوْنَ أَئِنَّ لَنَا لَأَجْرًا إِن كُنَّا نَحْنُ ٱلْغَـٰلِبِينَ
26:41
When the magicians came, they asked the Pharaoh, "Will there be any reward for us if we win?" - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
26:42
قَالَ نَعَمْ وَإِنَّكُمْ إِذًا لَّمِنَ ٱلْمُقَرَّبِينَ
26:42
He replied, "You will then be my closest associates". - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
26:43
قَالَ لَهُم مُّوسَىٰٓ أَلْقُوا۟ مَآ أَنتُم مُّلْقُونَ
26:43
(Moses) asked the magicians, "Cast down what you want to". - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
26:44
فَأَلْقَوْا۟ حِبَالَهُمْ وَعِصِيَّهُمْ وَقَالُوا۟ بِعِزَّةِ فِرْعَوْنَ إِنَّا لَنَحْنُ ٱلْغَـٰلِبُونَ
26:44
So they cast down their ropes and staffs saying, "By the honor of the Pharaoh we shall certainly become the winners". - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
26:45
فَأَلْقَىٰ مُوسَىٰ عَصَاهُ فَإِذَا هِىَ تَلْقَفُ مَا يَأْفِكُونَ
26:45
Then Moses cast down his staff and suddenly it swallowed up what they had falsely invented. - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
26:46
فَأُلْقِىَ ٱلسَّحَرَةُ سَـٰجِدِينَ
26:46
The magicians fell down in adoration - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
26:47
قَالُوٓا۟ ءَامَنَّا بِرَبِّ ٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ
26:47
saying, "We believe in the Lord of the Universe - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
26:48
رَبِّ مُوسَىٰ وَهَـٰرُونَ
26:48
and the Lord of Moses and Aaron." - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
26:49
قَالَ ءَامَنتُمْ لَهُۥ قَبْلَ أَنْ ءَاذَنَ لَكُمْ ۖ إِنَّهُۥ لَكَبِيرُكُمُ ٱلَّذِى عَلَّمَكُمُ ٱلسِّحْرَ فَلَسَوْفَ تَعْلَمُونَ ۚ لَأُقَطِّعَنَّ أَيْدِيَكُمْ وَأَرْجُلَكُم مِّنْ خِلَـٰفٍ وَلَأُصَلِّبَنَّكُمْ أَجْمَعِينَ
26:49
The Pharaoh said, "You believed without my permission? He seems to be your chief who has taught you magic. But you will soon know (the result of what you have done). - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
26:50
قَالُوا۟ لَا ضَيْرَ ۖ إِنَّآ إِلَىٰ رَبِّنَا مُنقَلِبُونَ
26:50
I shall certainly cut off your hands and feet on opposite sides and crucify you all together." - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
26:51
إِنَّا نَطْمَعُ أَن يَغْفِرَ لَنَا رَبُّنَا خَطَـٰيَـٰنَآ أَن كُنَّآ أَوَّلَ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ
26:51
They said, "It does not matter. We shall be returning to our Lord. - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
26:52
۞ وَأَوْحَيْنَآ إِلَىٰ مُوسَىٰٓ أَنْ أَسْرِ بِعِبَادِىٓ إِنَّكُم مُّتَّبَعُونَ
26:52
We hope that our Lord will forgive us for our sins; we were not believers at first." - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
26:53
فَأَرْسَلَ فِرْعَوْنُ فِى ٱلْمَدَآئِنِ حَـٰشِرِينَ
26:53
We sent a revelation to Moses telling him to leave with our servants during the night; they would be pursued (by the Pharaoh). - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
26:54
إِنَّ هَـٰٓؤُلَآءِ لَشِرْذِمَةٌ قَلِيلُونَ
26:54
The Pharaoh sent word to all the cities saying, - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
26:55
وَإِنَّهُمْ لَنَا لَغَآئِظُونَ
26:55
"There is a small group of people - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
26:56
وَإِنَّا لَجَمِيعٌ حَـٰذِرُونَ
26:56
who have enraged us greatly. - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
26:57
فَأَخْرَجْنَـٰهُم مِّن جَنَّـٰتٍ وَعُيُونٍ
26:57
We are warning all of you about them." - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
26:58
وَكُنُوزٍ وَمَقَامٍ كَرِيمٍ
26:58
We deprived them (the unbelievers) of gardens, springs, - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
26:59
كَذَٰلِكَ وَأَوْرَثْنَـٰهَا بَنِىٓ إِسْرَٰٓءِيلَ
26:59
treasures, and graceful dwellings. - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
26:60
فَأَتْبَعُوهُم مُّشْرِقِينَ
26:60
Thus we let the Israelites inherit them all. - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
26:61
فَلَمَّا تَرَٰٓءَا ٱلْجَمْعَانِ قَالَ أَصْحَـٰبُ مُوسَىٰٓ إِنَّا لَمُدْرَكُونَ
26:61
The people of the Pharaoh pursued them at sunrise. - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
26:62
قَالَ كَلَّآ ۖ إِنَّ مَعِىَ رَبِّى سَيَهْدِينِ
26:62
When the two groups came close to each other, the companions of Moses said, "We will be caught". - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
26:63
فَأَوْحَيْنَآ إِلَىٰ مُوسَىٰٓ أَنِ ٱضْرِب بِّعَصَاكَ ٱلْبَحْرَ ۖ فَٱنفَلَقَ فَكَانَ كُلُّ فِرْقٍ كَٱلطَّوْدِ ٱلْعَظِيمِ
26:63
Moses said, "Certainly not. My Lord is with me and He will certainly guide me." - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
26:64
وَأَزْلَفْنَا ثَمَّ ٱلْـَٔاخَرِينَ
26:64
We sent a revelation to Moses saying, "Strike the sea with your staff." The sea was rent asunder and each side stood high up like a huge mountain. - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
26:65
وَأَنجَيْنَا مُوسَىٰ وَمَن مَّعَهُۥٓ أَجْمَعِينَ
26:65
Then We brought the two parties closer. - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
26:66
ثُمَّ أَغْرَقْنَا ٱلْـَٔاخَرِينَ
26:66
We saved Moses and all the people with him - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
26:67
إِنَّ فِى ذَٰلِكَ لَـَٔايَةً ۖ وَمَا كَانَ أَكْثَرُهُم مُّؤْمِنِينَ
26:67
and drowned the other party. - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
26:68
وَإِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَهُوَ ٱلْعَزِيزُ ٱلرَّحِيمُ
26:68
In this there was certainly evidence (of the Truth), but most of them did not have any faith. - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
26:69
وَٱتْلُ عَلَيْهِمْ نَبَأَ إِبْرَٰهِيمَ
26:69
Your Lord is certainly Majestic and All-merciful. - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
26:70
إِذْ قَالَ لِأَبِيهِ وَقَوْمِهِۦ مَا تَعْبُدُونَ
26:70
Tell them the story of Abraham, - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
26:71
قَالُوا۟ نَعْبُدُ أَصْنَامًا فَنَظَلُّ لَهَا عَـٰكِفِينَ
26:71
when he asked his father and others, "What do you worship?" - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
26:72
قَالَ هَلْ يَسْمَعُونَكُمْ إِذْ تَدْعُونَ
26:72
They replied, "We worship idols and shall continue to worship them". - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
26:73
أَوْ يَنفَعُونَكُمْ أَوْ يَضُرُّونَ
26:73
He asked them, "Can the idols hear you when you pray to them - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
26:74
قَالُوا۟ بَلْ وَجَدْنَآ ءَابَآءَنَا كَذَٰلِكَ يَفْعَلُونَ
26:74
or can they benefit or harm you?" - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
26:75
قَالَ أَفَرَءَيْتُم مَّا كُنتُمْ تَعْبُدُونَ
26:75
They said, "No, but our fathers worshipped them." - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
26:76
أَنتُمْ وَءَابَآؤُكُمُ ٱلْأَقْدَمُونَ
26:76
(Abraham) said, "Do you know that what you worship and what your grandfathers worshipped - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
26:77
فَإِنَّهُمْ عَدُوٌّ لِّىٓ إِلَّا رَبَّ ٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ
26:77
are my enemies? Not so the Lord of the Universe. - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
26:78
ٱلَّذِى خَلَقَنِى فَهُوَ يَهْدِينِ
26:78
He created me and He will guide me. - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
26:79
وَٱلَّذِى هُوَ يُطْعِمُنِى وَيَسْقِينِ
26:79
It is He who gives me food and drink - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
26:80
وَإِذَا مَرِضْتُ فَهُوَ يَشْفِينِ
26:80
and heals me when I am sick. - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
26:81
وَٱلَّذِى يُمِيتُنِى ثُمَّ يُحْيِينِ
26:81
He will cause me to die and will bring me back to life. - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
26:82
وَٱلَّذِىٓ أَطْمَعُ أَن يَغْفِرَ لِى خَطِيٓـَٔتِى يَوْمَ ٱلدِّينِ
26:82
It is He whom I expect to forgive my sins on the Day of Judgment. - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
26:83
رَبِّ هَبْ لِى حُكْمًا وَأَلْحِقْنِى بِٱلصَّـٰلِحِينَ
26:83
Lord, grant me authority. Join me to the righteous ones. - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
26:84
وَٱجْعَل لِّى لِسَانَ صِدْقٍ فِى ٱلْـَٔاخِرِينَ
26:84
Make my words come true in the future. - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
26:85
وَٱجْعَلْنِى مِن وَرَثَةِ جَنَّةِ ٱلنَّعِيمِ
26:85
Make me inherit the bountiful Paradise. - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
26:86
وَٱغْفِرْ لِأَبِىٓ إِنَّهُۥ كَانَ مِنَ ٱلضَّآلِّينَ
26:86
Forgive my father. He has gone astray. - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
26:87
وَلَا تُخْزِنِى يَوْمَ يُبْعَثُونَ
26:87
Do not betray me - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
26:88
يَوْمَ لَا يَنفَعُ مَالٌ وَلَا بَنُونَ
26:88
on the Day of Judgment when neither wealth nor children will be of any benefit - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
26:89
إِلَّا مَنْ أَتَى ٱللَّهَ بِقَلْبٍ سَلِيمٍ
26:89
except what is done in obedience to God with a submissive heart. - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
26:90
وَأُزْلِفَتِ ٱلْجَنَّةُ لِلْمُتَّقِينَ
26:90
On the Day of Judgment Paradise will be brought near - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
26:91
وَبُرِّزَتِ ٱلْجَحِيمُ لِلْغَاوِينَ
26:91
the pious and hell will be left open for the rebellious ones - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
26:92
وَقِيلَ لَهُمْ أَيْنَ مَا كُنتُمْ تَعْبُدُونَ
26:92
who will be asked, "What did you worship - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
26:93
مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ هَلْ يَنصُرُونَكُمْ أَوْ يَنتَصِرُونَ
26:93
besides God? Will the idols help you? Can they help themselves?" - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
26:94
فَكُبْكِبُوا۟ فِيهَا هُمْ وَٱلْغَاوُۥنَ
26:94
The idol worshippers, the idols, the rebellious ones, - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
26:95
وَجُنُودُ إِبْلِيسَ أَجْمَعُونَ
26:95
and the army of satan will all be thrown headlong into hell. - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
26:96
قَالُوا۟ وَهُمْ فِيهَا يَخْتَصِمُونَ
26:96
"Quarrelling therein with each other, - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
26:97
تَٱللَّهِ إِن كُنَّا لَفِى ضَلَـٰلٍ مُّبِينٍ
26:97
they will say, "By God, we were in clear error - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
26:98
إِذْ نُسَوِّيكُم بِرَبِّ ٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ

وَمَآ أَضَلَّنَآ إِلَّا ٱلْمُجْرِمُونَ

Only the sinful ones made us go astray. - Muhammad Sarwar (English)

فَمَا لَنَا مِن شَـٰفِعِينَ

We have no one to intercede for us before God - Muhammad Sarwar (English)

وَلَا صَدِيقٍ حَمِيمٍ

فَلَوْ أَنَّ لَنَا كَرَّةً فَنَكُونَ مِنَ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ

Would that we could have a chance to live again so that we might become believers." - Muhammad Sarwar (English)

إِنَّ فِى ذَٰلِكَ لَـَٔايَةً ۖ وَمَا كَانَ أَكْثَرُهُم مُّؤْمِنِينَ

In this there is evidence (of the truth), but many of them do not have any faith. - Muhammad Sarwar (English)

وَإِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَهُوَ ٱلْعَزِيزُ ٱلرَّحِيمُ

كَذَّبَتْ قَوْمُ نُوحٍ ٱلْمُرْسَلِينَ

The people of Noah rejected the Messengerss. - Muhammad Sarwar (English)

إِذْ قَالَ لَهُمْ أَخُوهُمْ نُوحٌ أَلَا تَتَّقُونَ
26:106

إِنِّى لَكُمْ رَسُولٌ أَمِينٌ

فَٱتَّقُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ وَأَطِيعُونِ

Have fear of God and obey me. - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
26:109
وَمَآ أَسْـَٔلُكُمْ عَلَيْهِ مِنْ أَجْرٍ ۖ إِنْ أَجْرِىَ إِلَّا عَلَىٰ رَبِّ ٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ

I ask no payment from you for my preaching. The Lord of the Universe will give me my reward. - Muhammad Sarwar (English)

فَٱتَّقُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ وَأَطِيعُونِ
26:110

۞ قَالُوٓا۟ أَنُؤْمِنُ لَكَ وَٱتَّبَعَكَ ٱلْأَرْذَلُونَ
26:111
They said, "Should we believe in you when no one has followed you except the lowest ones". - Muhammad Sarwar (English)

قَالَ وَمَا عِلْمِى بِمَا كَانُوا۟ يَعْمَلُونَ
26:112
(Noah) said, "I have no knowledge of their deeds. - Muhammad Sarwar (English)

إِنْ حِسَابُهُمْ إِلَّا عَلَىٰ رَبِّى ۖ لَوْ تَشْعُرُونَ
26:113
If only you would realize, their account is with my Lord. - Muhammad Sarwar (English)

وَمَآ أَنَا۠ بِطَارِدِ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ
26:114
I do not drive away the believers. - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
26:115
إِنْ أَنَا۠ إِلَّا نَذِيرٌ مُّبِينٌ
26:115
I am only a Prophet. - Muhammad Sarwar (English)

قَالُوا۟ لَئِن لَّمْ تَنتَهِ يَـٰنُوحُ لَتَكُونَنَّ مِنَ ٱلْمَرْجُومِينَ
26:116
They said, "Noah, if you do not desist, you will, certainly, be stoned to death." - Muhammad Sarwar (English)

قَالَ رَبِّ إِنَّ قَوْمِى كَذَّبُونِ
26:117
Then Noah said, "Lord, my people have rejected me. - Muhammad Sarwar (English)

فَٱفْتَحْ بَيْنِى وَبَيْنَهُمْ فَتْحًا وَنَجِّنِى وَمَن مَّعِىَ مِنَ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ
26:118
Judge among us and save me and the believers with me". - Muhammad Sarwar (English)

فَأَنجَيْنَـٰهُ وَمَن مَّعَهُۥ فِى ٱلْفُلْكِ ٱلْمَشْحُونِ
26:119
We saved him and those who were with him in a fully laden Ark, - Muhammad Sarwar (English)

ثُمَّ أَغْرَقْنَا بَعْدُ ٱلْبَاقِينَ
26:120
and drowned the others. - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
26:121
إِنَّ فِى ذَٰلِكَ لَـَٔايَةً ۖ وَمَا كَانَ أَكْثَرُهُم مُّؤْمِنِينَ
26:121

وَإِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَهُوَ ٱلْعَزِيزُ ٱلرَّحِيمُ

كَذَّبَتْ عَادٌ ٱلْمُرْسَلِينَ

The tribe of Ad rejected the Messengers. - Muhammad Sarwar (English)

إِذْ قَالَ لَهُمْ أَخُوهُمْ هُودٌ أَلَا تَتَّقُونَ
26:124
Their brother Hud asked them, "Why do you not have fear of God? - Muhammad Sarwar (English)

إِنِّى لَكُمْ رَسُولٌ أَمِينٌ
26:125
I am a trustworthy Messengers sent to you. - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
26:126
فَٱتَّقُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ وَأَطِيعُونِ

Have fear of God and obey me. - Muhammad Sarwar (English)

وَمَآ أَسْـَٔلُكُمْ عَلَيْهِ مِنْ أَجْرٍ ۖ إِنْ أَجْرِىَ إِلَّا عَلَىٰ رَبِّ ٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ

أَتَبْنُونَ بِكُلِّ رِيعٍ ءَايَةً تَعْبَثُونَ

"Do you build useless monuments on every mountain - Muhammad Sarwar (English)

وَتَتَّخِذُونَ مَصَانِعَ لَعَلَّكُمْ تَخْلُدُونَ

and raise strong mansions as if you were to live forever? - Muhammad Sarwar (English)

وَإِذَا بَطَشْتُم بَطَشْتُمْ جَبَّارِينَ
26:130
When you attack, you attack as tyrants do. - Muhammad Sarwar (English)

فَٱتَّقُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ وَأَطِيعُونِ
26:131
Have fear of God and obey me. - Muhammad Sarwar (English)

وَٱتَّقُوا۟ ٱلَّذِىٓ أَمَدَّكُم بِمَا تَعْلَمُونَ
26:132
Have fear of the One who has bestowed upon you all that you know. - Muhammad Sarwar (English)

أَمَدَّكُم بِأَنْعَـٰمٍ وَبَنِينَ
26:133
He has given you cattle, children, - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
26:134
وَجَنَّـٰتٍ وَعُيُونٍ
26:134
gardens, and springs. - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
26:135
إِنِّىٓ أَخَافُ عَلَيْكُمْ عَذَابَ يَوْمٍ عَظِيمٍ
26:135
I am afraid that you will suffer the torment of the Day of Judgment." - Muhammad Sarwar (English)

قَالُوا۟ سَوَآءٌ عَلَيْنَآ أَوَعَظْتَ أَمْ لَمْ تَكُن مِّنَ ٱلْوَٰعِظِينَ
26:136
They said, "Whether you preach to us or not, - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
26:137
إِنْ هَـٰذَآ إِلَّا خُلُقُ ٱلْأَوَّلِينَ
26:137
your preaching is nothing but ancient legends and we shall not face any torment". - Muhammad Sarwar (English)

وَمَا نَحْنُ بِمُعَذَّبِينَ
26:138
They rejected him and We destroyed them. - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
26:139
فَكَذَّبُوهُ فَأَهْلَكْنَـٰهُمْ ۗ إِنَّ فِى ذَٰلِكَ لَـَٔايَةً ۖ وَمَا كَانَ أَكْثَرُهُم مُّؤْمِنِينَ
26:139
In this there is evidence (of the Truth), yet most of them do not have any faith. - Muhammad Sarwar (English)

وَإِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَهُوَ ٱلْعَزِيزُ ٱلرَّحِيمُ

كَذَّبَتْ ثَمُودُ ٱلْمُرْسَلِينَ

إِذْ قَالَ لَهُمْ أَخُوهُمْ صَـٰلِحٌ أَلَا تَتَّقُونَ

Their brother Salih asked them, "Why do you not fear God? - Muhammad Sarwar (English)

إِنِّى لَكُمْ رَسُولٌ أَمِينٌ
26:143
I am a trustworthy Messengers sent to you. - Muhammad Sarwar (English)

فَٱتَّقُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ وَأَطِيعُونِ

وَمَآ أَسْـَٔلُكُمْ عَلَيْهِ مِنْ أَجْرٍ ۖ إِنْ أَجْرِىَ إِلَّا عَلَىٰ رَبِّ ٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ

أَتُتْرَكُونَ فِى مَا هَـٰهُنَآ ءَامِنِينَ

فِى جَنَّـٰتٍ وَعُيُونٍ

amidst the gardens, springs, - Muhammad Sarwar (English)

وَزُرُوعٍ وَنَخْلٍ طَلْعُهَا هَضِيمٌ

farms, and palm-trees in thick groves, - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
26:149
وَتَنْحِتُونَ مِنَ ٱلْجِبَالِ بُيُوتًا فَـٰرِهِينَ
26:149
carving comfortable houses out of the mountains? - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
26:150
فَٱتَّقُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ وَأَطِيعُونِ
26:150
Have fear of God and obey me. - Muhammad Sarwar (English)

وَلَا تُطِيعُوٓا۟ أَمْرَ ٱلْمُسْرِفِينَ
26:151
Do not obey the orders of the transgressors - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
26:152
ٱلَّذِينَ يُفْسِدُونَ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ وَلَا يُصْلِحُونَ
26:152
who spread evil in the land with no reform." - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
26:153
قَالُوٓا۟ إِنَّمَآ أَنتَ مِنَ ٱلْمُسَحَّرِينَ
26:153
They said, "You are only bewitched and insane. - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
26:154
مَآ أَنتَ إِلَّا بَشَرٌ مِّثْلُنَا فَأْتِ بِـَٔايَةٍ إِن كُنتَ مِنَ ٱلصَّـٰدِقِينَ
26:154
You are a mere mortal like us. Show us a miracle if you are telling the Truth". - Muhammad Sarwar (English)

قَالَ هَـٰذِهِۦ نَاقَةٌ لَّهَا شِرْبٌ وَلَكُمْ شِرْبُ يَوْمٍ مَّعْلُومٍ
26:155
He said, "This is a she-camel. She will have her share of water as you have your share, each on a certain day. - Muhammad Sarwar (English)

وَلَا تَمَسُّوهَا بِسُوٓءٍ فَيَأْخُذَكُمْ عَذَابُ يَوْمٍ عَظِيمٍ
26:156
Do not cause her to suffer lest you become subject to the torment of the great day (of Judgment)." - Muhammad Sarwar (English)

فَعَقَرُوهَا فَأَصْبَحُوا۟ نَـٰدِمِينَ
26:157
They slew the she-camel, but later became regretful - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
26:158
فَأَخَذَهُمُ ٱلْعَذَابُ ۗ إِنَّ فِى ذَٰلِكَ لَـَٔايَةً ۖ وَمَا كَانَ أَكْثَرُهُم مُّؤْمِنِينَ

and torment struck them. In this there is evidence of the Truth, yet many people do not have any faith. - Muhammad Sarwar (English)

وَإِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَهُوَ ٱلْعَزِيزُ ٱلرَّحِيمُ

كَذَّبَتْ قَوْمُ لُوطٍ ٱلْمُرْسَلِينَ

إِذْ قَالَ لَهُمْ أَخُوهُمْ لُوطٌ أَلَا تَتَّقُونَ

Their brother Lot asked them, "Why do you not have fear of God? - Muhammad Sarwar (English)

أَتَأْتُونَ ٱلذُّكْرَانَ مِنَ ٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ

Do you, in the world, want to have carnal relations with males - Muhammad Sarwar (English)

وَتَذَرُونَ مَا خَلَقَ لَكُمْ رَبُّكُم مِّنْ أَزْوَٰجِكُم ۚ بَلْ أَنتُمْ قَوْمٌ عَادُونَ

instead of your wives, whom your Lord has created specially for you? You are a transgressing people." - Muhammad Sarwar (English)

قَالُوا۟ لَئِن لَّمْ تَنتَهِ يَـٰلُوطُ لَتَكُونَنَّ مِنَ ٱلْمُخْرَجِينَ
26:167
They said, "Lot, if you do not give up preaching, you will certainly be expelled (from this town)". - Muhammad Sarwar (English)

قَالَ إِنِّى لِعَمَلِكُم مِّنَ ٱلْقَالِينَ
26:168
He said, "I certainly hate what you practice. - Muhammad Sarwar (English)

رَبِّ نَجِّنِى وَأَهْلِى مِمَّا يَعْمَلُونَ
26:169
Lord, save me and my family from their deeds." - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
26:170
فَنَجَّيْنَـٰهُ وَأَهْلَهُۥٓ أَجْمَعِينَ
26:170
We saved him and all of his family - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
26:171
إِلَّا عَجُوزًا فِى ٱلْغَـٰبِرِينَ
26:171
except an old woman who remained behind. - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
26:172
ثُمَّ دَمَّرْنَا ٱلْـَٔاخَرِينَ
26:172
We destroyed the others - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
26:173
وَأَمْطَرْنَا عَلَيْهِم مَّطَرًا ۖ فَسَآءَ مَطَرُ ٱلْمُنذَرِينَ
26:173
by pouring upon them a terrible shower of rain. How evil was the rain for those who had been warned! - Muhammad Sarwar (English)

إِنَّ فِى ذَٰلِكَ لَـَٔايَةً ۖ وَمَا كَانَ أَكْثَرُهُم مُّؤْمِنِينَ

وَإِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَهُوَ ٱلْعَزِيزُ ٱلرَّحِيمُ

إِذْ قَالَ لَهُمْ شُعَيْبٌ أَلَا تَتَّقُونَ

Shu'ayb asked them, "Why do you not have fear of God? - Muhammad Sarwar (English)

فَٱتَّقُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ وَأَطِيعُونِ

۞ أَوْفُوا۟ ٱلْكَيْلَ وَلَا تَكُونُوا۟ مِنَ ٱلْمُخْسِرِينَ

وَزِنُوا۟ بِٱلْقِسْطَاسِ ٱلْمُسْتَقِيمِ

Weigh your goods with proper balance - Muhammad Sarwar (English)

وَلَا تَبْخَسُوا۟ ٱلنَّاسَ أَشْيَآءَهُمْ وَلَا تَعْثَوْا۟ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ مُفْسِدِينَ
26:183
and do not defraud people in their property or spread evil in the land. - Muhammad Sarwar (English)

وَٱتَّقُوا۟ ٱلَّذِى خَلَقَكُمْ وَٱلْجِبِلَّةَ ٱلْأَوَّلِينَ
26:184
Have fear of the One who has created you and the generations that lived before you." - Muhammad Sarwar (English)

قَالُوٓا۟ إِنَّمَآ أَنتَ مِنَ ٱلْمُسَحَّرِينَ
26:185
They said, "You are no more than a bewitched and insane man - Muhammad Sarwar (English)

وَمَآ أَنتَ إِلَّا بَشَرٌ مِّثْلُنَا وَإِن نَّظُنُّكَ لَمِنَ ٱلْكَـٰذِبِينَ
26:186
and a mere mortal like us. We think you are a liar. - Muhammad Sarwar (English)

فَأَسْقِطْ عَلَيْنَا كِسَفًا مِّنَ ٱلسَّمَآءِ إِن كُنتَ مِنَ ٱلصَّـٰدِقِينَ

Let a part of the sky fall on us if what you say is true". - Muhammad Sarwar (English)

قَالَ رَبِّىٓ أَعْلَمُ بِمَا تَعْمَلُونَ
26:188
He said, "My Lord knows all that you do." - Muhammad Sarwar (English)

فَكَذَّبُوهُ فَأَخَذَهُمْ عَذَابُ يَوْمِ ٱلظُّلَّةِ ۚ إِنَّهُۥ كَانَ عَذَابَ يَوْمٍ عَظِيمٍ

They rejected him and then the torment of the gloomy day struck them. It was certainly a great torment. - Muhammad Sarwar (English)

إِنَّ فِى ذَٰلِكَ لَـَٔايَةً ۖ وَمَا كَانَ أَكْثَرُهُم مُّؤْمِنِينَ

وَإِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَهُوَ ٱلْعَزِيزُ ٱلرَّحِيمُ

وَإِنَّهُۥ لَتَنزِيلُ رَبِّ ٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ

نَزَلَ بِهِ ٱلرُّوحُ ٱلْأَمِينُ

It has been revealed through the trustworthy Spirit - Muhammad Sarwar (English)

عَلَىٰ قَلْبِكَ لِتَكُونَ مِنَ ٱلْمُنذِرِينَ

to your heart, so that you will warn (the people of the dangers of disobeying God). - Muhammad Sarwar (English)

بِلِسَانٍ عَرَبِىٍّ مُّبِينٍ

It has been revealed in plain Arabic. - Muhammad Sarwar (English)

وَإِنَّهُۥ لَفِى زُبُرِ ٱلْأَوَّلِينَ

Its news was also mentioned in the ancient Books. - Muhammad Sarwar (English)

أَوَلَمْ يَكُن لَّهُمْ ءَايَةً أَن يَعْلَمَهُۥ عُلَمَـٰٓؤُا۟ بَنِىٓ إِسْرَٰٓءِيلَ

Is not the fact (that the Israelite scholars already knew about the Quran through their Book) sufficient evidence for the pagans of the truthfulness (of the Quran)? - Muhammad Sarwar (English)

وَلَوْ نَزَّلْنَـٰهُ عَلَىٰ بَعْضِ ٱلْأَعْجَمِينَ

Had We revealed it to a non-Arab - Muhammad Sarwar (English)

فَقَرَأَهُۥ عَلَيْهِم مَّا كَانُوا۟ بِهِۦ مُؤْمِنِينَ

who would have read it to them, they (pagans) would not have believed in it. - Muhammad Sarwar (English)

كَذَٰلِكَ سَلَكْنَـٰهُ فِى قُلُوبِ ٱلْمُجْرِمِينَ
26:200
Thus it passes through the hearts of the criminals. - Muhammad Sarwar (English)

لَا يُؤْمِنُونَ بِهِۦ حَتَّىٰ يَرَوُا۟ ٱلْعَذَابَ ٱلْأَلِيمَ
26:201
They will not believe in it until they suffer the painful torment. - Muhammad Sarwar (English)

فَيَأْتِيَهُم بَغْتَةً وَهُمْ لَا يَشْعُرُونَ
26:202
The torment will strike them suddenly without their knowledge. - Muhammad Sarwar (English)

فَيَقُولُوا۟ هَلْ نَحْنُ مُنظَرُونَ
26:203
They will say, "Can we be granted any respite?" - Muhammad Sarwar (English)

أَفَبِعَذَابِنَا يَسْتَعْجِلُونَ

Do they want to hasten Our torment? - Muhammad Sarwar (English)

أَفَرَءَيْتَ إِن مَّتَّعْنَـٰهُمْ سِنِينَ
26:205
Do you not see that even if We give them respite for years - Muhammad Sarwar (English)

ثُمَّ جَآءَهُم مَّا كَانُوا۟ يُوعَدُونَ
26:206
and then Our torment will strike them, - Muhammad Sarwar (English)

مَآ أَغْنَىٰ عَنْهُم مَّا كَانُوا۟ يُمَتَّعُونَ
26:207

وَمَآ أَهْلَكْنَا مِن قَرْيَةٍ إِلَّا لَهَا مُنذِرُونَ

ذِكْرَىٰ وَمَا كُنَّا ظَـٰلِمِينَ

وَمَا تَنَزَّلَتْ بِهِ ٱلشَّيَـٰطِينُ

وَمَا يَنۢبَغِى لَهُمْ وَمَا يَسْتَطِيعُونَ
26:211

إِنَّهُمْ عَنِ ٱلسَّمْعِ لَمَعْزُولُونَ
26:212
The satans are barred from listening to anything from the heavens. - Muhammad Sarwar (English)

فَلَا تَدْعُ مَعَ ٱللَّهِ إِلَـٰهًا ءَاخَرَ فَتَكُونَ مِنَ ٱلْمُعَذَّبِينَ

وَأَنذِرْ عَشِيرَتَكَ ٱلْأَقْرَبِينَ

وَٱخْفِضْ جَنَاحَكَ لِمَنِ ٱتَّبَعَكَ مِنَ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ

فَإِنْ عَصَوْكَ فَقُلْ إِنِّى بَرِىٓءٌ مِّمَّا تَعْمَلُونَ

وَتَوَكَّلْ عَلَى ٱلْعَزِيزِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

Have trust in the Majestic and All-merciful God, - Muhammad Sarwar (English)

ٱلَّذِى يَرَىٰكَ حِينَ تَقُومُ
26:218

وَتَقَلُّبَكَ فِى ٱلسَّـٰجِدِينَ

إِنَّهُۥ هُوَ ٱلسَّمِيعُ ٱلْعَلِيمُ
26:220

هَلْ أُنَبِّئُكُمْ عَلَىٰ مَن تَنَزَّلُ ٱلشَّيَـٰطِينُ
26:221
Should I tell you to whom the satans come? - Muhammad Sarwar (English)

تَنَزَّلُ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ أَفَّاكٍ أَثِيمٍ
26:222
They come to every sinful liar. - Muhammad Sarwar (English)

يُلْقُونَ ٱلسَّمْعَ وَأَكْثَرُهُمْ كَـٰذِبُونَ
26:223
The satans try to listen to the heavens but many of them are liars. - Muhammad Sarwar (English)

وَٱلشُّعَرَآءُ يَتَّبِعُهُمُ ٱلْغَاوُۥنَ
26:224
Only the erring people follow the poets. - Muhammad Sarwar (English)

أَلَمْ تَرَ أَنَّهُمْ فِى كُلِّ وَادٍ يَهِيمُونَ
26:225
Have you not seen them wandering and bewildered in every valley - Muhammad Sarwar (English)

وَأَنَّهُمْ يَقُولُونَ مَا لَا يَفْعَلُونَ
26:226
and preaching what they themselves never practice. - Muhammad Sarwar (English)

إِلَّا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ وَعَمِلُوا۟ ٱلصَّـٰلِحَـٰتِ وَذَكَرُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ كَثِيرًا وَٱنتَصَرُوا۟ مِنۢ بَعْدِ مَا ظُلِمُوا۟ ۗ وَسَيَعْلَمُ ٱلَّذِينَ ظَلَمُوٓا۟ أَىَّ مُنقَلَبٍ يَنقَلِبُونَ
26:227
The righteously striving believers among them who remember God very often and use their talent to seek help after they have been wronged are the exceptional. The unjust will soon know how terrible their end will be. - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
