Wahiduddin Khan
بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful.
26:1
طسٓمٓ
26:1
Ta Sin Mim. - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
26:2
تِلْكَ ءَايَـٰتُ ٱلْكِتَـٰبِ ٱلْمُبِينِ
26:2
These are the verses of the Book that makes things clear. - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
26:3
لَعَلَّكَ بَـٰخِعٌ نَّفْسَكَ أَلَّا يَكُونُوا۟ مُؤْمِنِينَ
26:3
It may be that you will destroy yourself with grief because they will not believe. - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
26:4
إِن نَّشَأْ نُنَزِّلْ عَلَيْهِم مِّنَ ٱلسَّمَآءِ ءَايَةً فَظَلَّتْ أَعْنَـٰقُهُمْ لَهَا خَـٰضِعِينَ
26:4
But if We had so willed, We could have sent down to them a sign from the heavens so that their heads would be bowed down before it in utter humility. - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
26:5
وَمَا يَأْتِيهِم مِّن ذِكْرٍ مِّنَ ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ مُحْدَثٍ إِلَّا كَانُوا۟ عَنْهُ مُعْرِضِينَ
26:5
Whenever there comes to them any fresh warning from the Merciful, they always turn their backs on it: - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
26:6
فَقَدْ كَذَّبُوا۟ فَسَيَأْتِيهِمْ أَنۢبَـٰٓؤُا۟ مَا كَانُوا۟ بِهِۦ يَسْتَهْزِءُونَ
26:6
they have indeed rejected the message. But the truth of what they laughed to scorn will dawn upon them before long. - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
26:7
أَوَلَمْ يَرَوْا۟ إِلَى ٱلْأَرْضِ كَمْ أَنۢبَتْنَا فِيهَا مِن كُلِّ زَوْجٍ كَرِيمٍ
26:7
Do they not see the earth, and what beneficial kinds of things We have caused to grow in it? - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
26:8
إِنَّ فِى ذَٰلِكَ لَـَٔايَةً ۖ وَمَا كَانَ أَكْثَرُهُم مُّؤْمِنِينَ
26:8
Surely in this there is a sign, yet most of them would not believe: - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
26:9
وَإِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَهُوَ ٱلْعَزِيزُ ٱلرَّحِيمُ
26:9
truly, your Lord is the Mighty One, the Merciful. - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
26:10
وَإِذْ نَادَىٰ رَبُّكَ مُوسَىٰٓ أَنِ ٱئْتِ ٱلْقَوْمَ ٱلظَّـٰلِمِينَ
26:10
When your Lord called out to Moses, saying, "Go to the wrongdoing people, - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
26:11
قَوْمَ فِرْعَوْنَ ۚ أَلَا يَتَّقُونَ
26:11
the people of Pharaoh, will they not fear God? - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
26:12
قَالَ رَبِّ إِنِّىٓ أَخَافُ أَن يُكَذِّبُونِ
26:12
Moses replied, "My Lord, I fear they will reject me, - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
26:13
وَيَضِيقُ صَدْرِى وَلَا يَنطَلِقُ لِسَانِى فَأَرْسِلْ إِلَىٰ هَـٰرُونَ
26:13
and "my breast is straitened and my tongue is not fluent; so send Aaron as well; - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
26:14
وَلَهُمْ عَلَىَّ ذَنۢبٌ فَأَخَافُ أَن يَقْتُلُونِ
26:14
besides, they accuse me of a crime, and I fear that they may put me to death." - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
26:15
قَالَ كَلَّا ۖ فَٱذْهَبَا بِـَٔايَـٰتِنَآ ۖ إِنَّا مَعَكُم مُّسْتَمِعُونَ
26:15
God said, "Indeed not; go both of you with Our signs, We shall be with you, listening [to your call]. - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
26:16
فَأْتِيَا فِرْعَوْنَ فَقُولَآ إِنَّا رَسُولُ رَبِّ ٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ
26:16
Go to Pharaoh, both of you, and say, 'We are messengers from the Lord of the Worlds: - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
26:17
أَنْ أَرْسِلْ مَعَنَا بَنِىٓ إِسْرَٰٓءِيلَ
26:17
let the Children of Israel go with us!'" - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
26:18
قَالَ أَلَمْ نُرَبِّكَ فِينَا وَلِيدًا وَلَبِثْتَ فِينَا مِنْ عُمُرِكَ سِنِينَ
26:18
Pharaoh said to Moses, "Did we not bring you up among us as a child? And you spent several years of your life with us. - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
26:19
وَفَعَلْتَ فَعْلَتَكَ ٱلَّتِى فَعَلْتَ وَأَنتَ مِنَ ٱلْكَـٰفِرِينَ
26:19
Yet you committed the deed you did, surely you are one of the ingrates." - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
26:20
قَالَ فَعَلْتُهَآ إِذًا وَأَنَا۠ مِنَ ٱلضَّآلِّينَ
26:20
Moses replied, "I did that when I was one of the misguided, - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
26:21
فَفَرَرْتُ مِنكُمْ لَمَّا خِفْتُكُمْ فَوَهَبَ لِى رَبِّى حُكْمًا وَجَعَلَنِى مِنَ ٱلْمُرْسَلِينَ
26:21
and I fled from you because I feared you. Then my Lord granted me wisdom and made me one of the messengers. - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
26:22
وَتِلْكَ نِعْمَةٌ تَمُنُّهَا عَلَىَّ أَنْ عَبَّدتَّ بَنِىٓ إِسْرَٰٓءِيلَ
26:22
And this is the favour with which you taunt me -- that you have enslaved the Children of Israel?" - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
26:23
قَالَ فِرْعَوْنُ وَمَا رَبُّ ٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ
26:23
Pharaoh said, "What is this: Lord of the Universe?" - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
26:24
قَالَ رَبُّ ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَآ ۖ إِن كُنتُم مُّوقِنِينَ
26:24
Moses said, "Lord of the heavens and the earth and all that is between them, if only you would be convinced." - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
26:25
قَالَ لِمَنْ حَوْلَهُۥٓ أَلَا تَسْتَمِعُونَ
26:25
Pharaoh said to those around him, "Did you hear?" - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
26:26
قَالَ رَبُّكُمْ وَرَبُّ ءَابَآئِكُمُ ٱلْأَوَّلِينَ
26:26
Moses went on, "He is your Lord and the Lord of your forefathers." - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
26:27
قَالَ إِنَّ رَسُولَكُمُ ٱلَّذِىٓ أُرْسِلَ إِلَيْكُمْ لَمَجْنُونٌ
26:27
Pharaoh said, "This messenger who has been sent to you is surely possessed!" - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
26:28
قَالَ رَبُّ ٱلْمَشْرِقِ وَٱلْمَغْرِبِ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَآ ۖ إِن كُنتُمْ تَعْقِلُونَ
26:28
Moses said, "He is the Lord of the East and the West, and all that lies between them, if only you could understand." - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
26:29
قَالَ لَئِنِ ٱتَّخَذْتَ إِلَـٰهًا غَيْرِى لَأَجْعَلَنَّكَ مِنَ ٱلْمَسْجُونِينَ
26:29
Pharaoh said, "If you take any deity other than myself, I will throw you into prison," - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
26:30
قَالَ أَوَلَوْ جِئْتُكَ بِشَىْءٍ مُّبِينٍ
26:30
and Moses asked, "Even if I show you a clear sign?" - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
26:31
قَالَ فَأْتِ بِهِۦٓ إِن كُنتَ مِنَ ٱلصَّـٰدِقِينَ
26:31
Pharaoh said, "Show it then, if you are telling the truth!" - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
26:32
فَأَلْقَىٰ عَصَاهُ فَإِذَا هِىَ ثُعْبَانٌ مُّبِينٌ
26:32
So Moses threw down his staff and suddenly it appeared as a serpent, plainly visible. - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
26:33
وَنَزَعَ يَدَهُۥ فَإِذَا هِىَ بَيْضَآءُ لِلنَّـٰظِرِينَ
26:33
And he drew out his hand, and it appeared [shining] white to the beholders. - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
26:34
قَالَ لِلْمَلَإِ حَوْلَهُۥٓ إِنَّ هَـٰذَا لَسَـٰحِرٌ عَلِيمٌ
26:34
Pharaoh said to the chiefs around him, "Surely this man is a skilful sorcerer. - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
26:35
يُرِيدُ أَن يُخْرِجَكُم مِّنْ أَرْضِكُم بِسِحْرِهِۦ فَمَاذَا تَأْمُرُونَ
26:35
Who wants to drive you out of your land by his sorcery. Now what do you advise?" - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
26:36
قَالُوٓا۟ أَرْجِهْ وَأَخَاهُ وَٱبْعَثْ فِى ٱلْمَدَآئِنِ حَـٰشِرِينَ
26:36
They said, "Let him and his brother wait a while, and send heralds into the cities, - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
26:37
يَأْتُوكَ بِكُلِّ سَحَّارٍ عَلِيمٍ
26:37
who shall bring to you every skilful sorcerer." - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
26:38
فَجُمِعَ ٱلسَّحَرَةُ لِمِيقَـٰتِ يَوْمٍ مَّعْلُومٍ
26:38
So the sorcerers were gathered on the appointed day - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
26:39
وَقِيلَ لِلنَّاسِ هَلْ أَنتُم مُّجْتَمِعُونَ
26:39
and the people were told, "Will you also gather together, - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
26:40
لَعَلَّنَا نَتَّبِعُ ٱلسَّحَرَةَ إِن كَانُوا۟ هُمُ ٱلْغَـٰلِبِينَ
26:40
so that we may follow the magicians, if they be the winners." - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
26:41
فَلَمَّا جَآءَ ٱلسَّحَرَةُ قَالُوا۟ لِفِرْعَوْنَ أَئِنَّ لَنَا لَأَجْرًا إِن كُنَّا نَحْنُ ٱلْغَـٰلِبِينَ
26:41
When the magicians came, they asked Pharaoh, "Shall we have a reward, if we are the winners?" - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
26:42
قَالَ نَعَمْ وَإِنَّكُمْ إِذًا لَّمِنَ ٱلْمُقَرَّبِينَ
26:42
He replied, "Certainly, in that case you will join my inner circle." - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
26:43
قَالَ لَهُم مُّوسَىٰٓ أَلْقُوا۟ مَآ أَنتُم مُّلْقُونَ
26:43
Moses said to the magicians, "Throw down whatever you are going to throw." - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
26:44
فَأَلْقَوْا۟ حِبَالَهُمْ وَعِصِيَّهُمْ وَقَالُوا۟ بِعِزَّةِ فِرْعَوْنَ إِنَّا لَنَحْنُ ٱلْغَـٰلِبُونَ
26:44
So they cast down their ropes and staffs, and said, "By Pharaoh's honour, we shall surely win." - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
26:45
فَأَلْقَىٰ مُوسَىٰ عَصَاهُ فَإِذَا هِىَ تَلْقَفُ مَا يَأْفِكُونَ
26:45
Then Moses threw down his staff, and it swallowed up all that they had conjured into being. - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
26:46
فَأُلْقِىَ ٱلسَّحَرَةُ سَـٰجِدِينَ
26:46
The magicians fell down prostrate, - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
26:47
قَالُوٓا۟ ءَامَنَّا بِرَبِّ ٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ
26:47
saying, "We believe in the Lord of the Worlds, - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
26:48
رَبِّ مُوسَىٰ وَهَـٰرُونَ
26:48
the Lord of Moses and Aaron." - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
26:49
قَالَ ءَامَنتُمْ لَهُۥ قَبْلَ أَنْ ءَاذَنَ لَكُمْ ۖ إِنَّهُۥ لَكَبِيرُكُمُ ٱلَّذِى عَلَّمَكُمُ ٱلسِّحْرَ فَلَسَوْفَ تَعْلَمُونَ ۚ لَأُقَطِّعَنَّ أَيْدِيَكُمْ وَأَرْجُلَكُم مِّنْ خِلَـٰفٍ وَلَأُصَلِّبَنَّكُمْ أَجْمَعِينَ
26:49
Pharaoh said, "Have you come to believe in him, before I have given you permission? He is surely your master who has taught you magic. But you shall see. I will cut off your hands and feet on alternate sides and crucify you all." - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
26:50
قَالُوا۟ لَا ضَيْرَ ۖ إِنَّآ إِلَىٰ رَبِّنَا مُنقَلِبُونَ
26:50
They said, "There is no harm. To our Lord we shall return. - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
26:51
إِنَّا نَطْمَعُ أَن يَغْفِرَ لَنَا رَبُّنَا خَطَـٰيَـٰنَآ أَن كُنَّآ أَوَّلَ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ
26:51
We hope our Lord will forgive us, as we are the first of the believers." - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
26:52
۞ وَأَوْحَيْنَآ إِلَىٰ مُوسَىٰٓ أَنْ أَسْرِ بِعِبَادِىٓ إِنَّكُم مُّتَّبَعُونَ
26:52
Then We revealed Our will to Moses, saying, "Set forth with My servants, in the night, for you will surely be pursued." - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
26:53
فَأَرْسَلَ فِرْعَوْنُ فِى ٱلْمَدَآئِنِ حَـٰشِرِينَ
26:53
And Pharaoh sent forth heralds to all the cities. - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
26:54
إِنَّ هَـٰٓؤُلَآءِ لَشِرْذِمَةٌ قَلِيلُونَ
26:54
"These," they said, "are only a small band, - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
26:55
وَإِنَّهُمْ لَنَا لَغَآئِظُونَ
26:55
and they have enraged us, - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
26:56
وَإِنَّا لَجَمِيعٌ حَـٰذِرُونَ
26:56
we are a large and watchful force." - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
26:57
فَأَخْرَجْنَـٰهُم مِّن جَنَّـٰتٍ وَعُيُونٍ
26:57
So We made them leave their gardens and springs, - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
26:58
وَكُنُوزٍ وَمَقَامٍ كَرِيمٍ
26:58
their treasures and their noble dwellings -- - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
26:59
كَذَٰلِكَ وَأَوْرَثْنَـٰهَا بَنِىٓ إِسْرَٰٓءِيلَ
26:59
and We made the Children of Israel inheritors of these bounties. - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
26:60
فَأَتْبَعُوهُم مُّشْرِقِينَ
26:60
Pharaoh and his people pursued them at sunrise, - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
26:61
فَلَمَّا تَرَٰٓءَا ٱلْجَمْعَانِ قَالَ أَصْحَـٰبُ مُوسَىٰٓ إِنَّا لَمُدْرَكُونَ
26:61
and when the two groups saw each other, Moses' companions said, "We are sure to be overtaken." - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
26:62
قَالَ كَلَّآ ۖ إِنَّ مَعِىَ رَبِّى سَيَهْدِينِ
26:62
Moses replied, "No, My Lord is with me, and He will guide me." - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
26:63
فَأَوْحَيْنَآ إِلَىٰ مُوسَىٰٓ أَنِ ٱضْرِب بِّعَصَاكَ ٱلْبَحْرَ ۖ فَٱنفَلَقَ فَكَانَ كُلُّ فِرْقٍ كَٱلطَّوْدِ ٱلْعَظِيمِ
26:63
Then We bade Moses strike the sea with his staff. And it parted, and each part was like a huge mountain. - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
26:64
وَأَزْلَفْنَا ثَمَّ ٱلْـَٔاخَرِينَ
26:64
In the meantime We made the others approach that place. - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
26:65
وَأَنجَيْنَا مُوسَىٰ وَمَن مَّعَهُۥٓ أَجْمَعِينَ
26:65
We delivered Moses and all those who were with him, - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
26:66
ثُمَّ أَغْرَقْنَا ٱلْـَٔاخَرِينَ
26:66
then We drowned the others. - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
26:67
إِنَّ فِى ذَٰلِكَ لَـَٔايَةً ۖ وَمَا كَانَ أَكْثَرُهُم مُّؤْمِنِينَ
26:67
Surely in that there is a sign; yet most of them do not believe: - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
26:68
وَإِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَهُوَ ٱلْعَزِيزُ ٱلرَّحِيمُ
26:68
truly, your Lord is the Mighty One, the Merciful. - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
26:69
وَٱتْلُ عَلَيْهِمْ نَبَأَ إِبْرَٰهِيمَ
26:69
Tell them the story of Abraham, - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
26:70
إِذْ قَالَ لِأَبِيهِ وَقَوْمِهِۦ مَا تَعْبُدُونَ
26:70
when he asked his father and his people, "What is that which you worship?" - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
26:71
قَالُوا۟ نَعْبُدُ أَصْنَامًا فَنَظَلُّ لَهَا عَـٰكِفِينَ
26:71
They said, "We worship idols and will continue to cling to them." - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
26:72
قَالَ هَلْ يَسْمَعُونَكُمْ إِذْ تَدْعُونَ
26:72
He asked, "Do they hear you when you call to them? - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
26:73
أَوْ يَنفَعُونَكُمْ أَوْ يَضُرُّونَ
26:73
Do they help or harm you?" - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
26:74
قَالُوا۟ بَلْ وَجَدْنَآ ءَابَآءَنَا كَذَٰلِكَ يَفْعَلُونَ
26:74
They replied, "But we found our fathers doing the same." - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
26:75
قَالَ أَفَرَءَيْتُم مَّا كُنتُمْ تَعْبُدُونَ
26:75
Abraham said, "Have you really thought about what you have been worshipping, - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
26:76
أَنتُمْ وَءَابَآؤُكُمُ ٱلْأَقْدَمُونَ
26:76
you and your forefathers -- - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
26:77
فَإِنَّهُمْ عَدُوٌّ لِّىٓ إِلَّا رَبَّ ٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ
26:77
they are all my enemies, not so the Lord of the Universe, - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
26:78
ٱلَّذِى خَلَقَنِى فَهُوَ يَهْدِينِ
26:78
who created me. It is He who guides me; - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
26:79
وَٱلَّذِى هُوَ يُطْعِمُنِى وَيَسْقِينِ
26:79
He who gives me food and drink; - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
26:80
وَإِذَا مَرِضْتُ فَهُوَ يَشْفِينِ
26:80
He who cures me when I am ill; - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
26:81
وَٱلَّذِى يُمِيتُنِى ثُمَّ يُحْيِينِ
26:81
He who will cause me to die and bring me back to life; - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
26:82
وَٱلَّذِىٓ أَطْمَعُ أَن يَغْفِرَ لِى خَطِيٓـَٔتِى يَوْمَ ٱلدِّينِ
26:82
and He who will, I hope, forgive me my faults on the Day of the Judgement. - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
26:83
رَبِّ هَبْ لِى حُكْمًا وَأَلْحِقْنِى بِٱلصَّـٰلِحِينَ
26:83
My Lord, bestow wisdom upon me; unite me with the righteous; - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
26:84
وَٱجْعَل لِّى لِسَانَ صِدْقٍ فِى ٱلْـَٔاخِرِينَ
26:84
give me a good name among later generations; - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
26:85
وَٱجْعَلْنِى مِن وَرَثَةِ جَنَّةِ ٱلنَّعِيمِ
26:85
and make me one of the inheritors of the Garden of Bliss; - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
26:86
وَٱغْفِرْ لِأَبِىٓ إِنَّهُۥ كَانَ مِنَ ٱلضَّآلِّينَ
26:86
and forgive my father; for he is one of the misguided; - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
26:87
وَلَا تُخْزِنِى يَوْمَ يُبْعَثُونَ
26:87
and do not disgrace me on the Day when all people are resurrected, - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
26:88
يَوْمَ لَا يَنفَعُ مَالٌ وَلَا بَنُونَ
26:88
the Day when wealth and sons will be of no avail, - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
26:89
إِلَّا مَنْ أَتَى ٱللَّهَ بِقَلْبٍ سَلِيمٍ
26:89
and when he alone will be saved who comes to God with a sound heart." - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
26:90
وَأُزْلِفَتِ ٱلْجَنَّةُ لِلْمُتَّقِينَ
26:90
When Paradise shall be brought near to the God-fearing - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
26:91
وَبُرِّزَتِ ٱلْجَحِيمُ لِلْغَاوِينَ
26:91
and Hell shall be revealed to the misguided, - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
26:92
وَقِيلَ لَهُمْ أَيْنَ مَا كُنتُمْ تَعْبُدُونَ
26:92
they will be asked, "Where are those whom you worshipped - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
26:93
مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ هَلْ يَنصُرُونَكُمْ أَوْ يَنتَصِرُونَ
26:93
besides God? Can they help you or even help themselves?" - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
26:94
فَكُبْكِبُوا۟ فِيهَا هُمْ وَٱلْغَاوُۥنَ
26:94
Then they will be thrown headlong into Hell, both they and the misguided ones, - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
26:95
وَجُنُودُ إِبْلِيسَ أَجْمَعُونَ
26:95
and Satan's legions, all together. - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
26:96
قَالُوا۟ وَهُمْ فِيهَا يَخْتَصِمُونَ
26:96
They will dispute between themselves therein, and will say, - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
26:97
تَٱللَّهِ إِن كُنَّا لَفِى ضَلَـٰلٍ مُّبِينٍ
26:97
"We were clearly misguided - Wahiduddin Khan (English)

إِذْ نُسَوِّيكُم بِرَبِّ ٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ
26:98
when we made you equal with the Lord of the Universe. - Wahiduddin Khan (English)

وَمَآ أَضَلَّنَآ إِلَّا ٱلْمُجْرِمُونَ
26:99
It was the evildoers who led us astray, - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
26:100
فَمَا لَنَا مِن شَـٰفِعِينَ
26:100
and we have no intercessors now, - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
26:101
وَلَا صَدِيقٍ حَمِيمٍ
26:101
and no sincere friend. - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
26:102
فَلَوْ أَنَّ لَنَا كَرَّةً فَنَكُونَ مِنَ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ
26:102
If we could only return to the world and be among the believers." - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
26:103
إِنَّ فِى ذَٰلِكَ لَـَٔايَةً ۖ وَمَا كَانَ أَكْثَرُهُم مُّؤْمِنِينَ
26:103
There is certainly a sign in that, but most of them would not believe: - Wahiduddin Khan (English)

وَإِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَهُوَ ٱلْعَزِيزُ ٱلرَّحِيمُ
26:104
surely, your Lord is the Mighty One, the Merciful. - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
26:105
كَذَّبَتْ قَوْمُ نُوحٍ ٱلْمُرْسَلِينَ
26:105
The people of Noah also rejected the messengers. - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
26:106
إِذْ قَالَ لَهُمْ أَخُوهُمْ نُوحٌ أَلَا تَتَّقُونَ
26:106
When their brother Noah said to them, "Will you have no fear of God? - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
26:107
إِنِّى لَكُمْ رَسُولٌ أَمِينٌ
26:107
I am a trustworthy messenger for you: - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
26:108
فَٱتَّقُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ وَأَطِيعُونِ
26:108
fear God, and obey me. - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
26:109
وَمَآ أَسْـَٔلُكُمْ عَلَيْهِ مِنْ أَجْرٍ ۖ إِنْ أَجْرِىَ إِلَّا عَلَىٰ رَبِّ ٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ
26:109
I ask of you no recompense for it, for my only reward is with the Lord of the Universe, - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
26:110
فَٱتَّقُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ وَأَطِيعُونِ
26:110
so fear God and obey me." - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
26:111
۞ قَالُوٓا۟ أَنُؤْمِنُ لَكَ وَٱتَّبَعَكَ ٱلْأَرْذَلُونَ
26:111
They replied, "Are we to believe in you when your followers are but the lowest of the low?" - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
26:112
قَالَ وَمَا عِلْمِى بِمَا كَانُوا۟ يَعْمَلُونَ
26:112
He said, "What knowledge do I have of their doings? - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
26:113
إِنْ حِسَابُهُمْ إِلَّا عَلَىٰ رَبِّى ۖ لَوْ تَشْعُرُونَ
26:113
My Lord alone can bring them to account, if only you could understand, - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
26:114
وَمَآ أَنَا۠ بِطَارِدِ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ
26:114
I am not going to drive away any believers. - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
26:115
إِنْ أَنَا۠ إِلَّا نَذِيرٌ مُّبِينٌ
26:115
I am only a plain warner." - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
26:116
قَالُوا۟ لَئِن لَّمْ تَنتَهِ يَـٰنُوحُ لَتَكُونَنَّ مِنَ ٱلْمَرْجُومِينَ
26:116
They said, "Noah, if you do not desist, you will be stoned." - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
26:117
قَالَ رَبِّ إِنَّ قَوْمِى كَذَّبُونِ
26:117
Noah said, "My Lord, my people have rejected me, - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
26:118
فَٱفْتَحْ بَيْنِى وَبَيْنَهُمْ فَتْحًا وَنَجِّنِى وَمَن مَّعِىَ مِنَ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ
26:118
therefore, judge decisively between me and them; and save me and the believers who are with me." - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
26:119
فَأَنجَيْنَـٰهُ وَمَن مَّعَهُۥ فِى ٱلْفُلْكِ ٱلْمَشْحُونِ
26:119
So We saved him, and those who were with him in the laden ark, - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
26:120
ثُمَّ أَغْرَقْنَا بَعْدُ ٱلْبَاقِينَ
26:120
and drowned the rest. - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
26:121
إِنَّ فِى ذَٰلِكَ لَـَٔايَةً ۖ وَمَا كَانَ أَكْثَرُهُم مُّؤْمِنِينَ
26:121
There is certainly a sign in that; but most of them do not believe: - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
26:122
وَإِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَهُوَ ٱلْعَزِيزُ ٱلرَّحِيمُ
26:122
surely your Lord is the Mighty One, the Merciful. - Wahiduddin Khan (English)

كَذَّبَتْ عَادٌ ٱلْمُرْسَلِينَ
26:123
The people of 'Ad, too, rejected the messengers. - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
26:124
إِذْ قَالَ لَهُمْ أَخُوهُمْ هُودٌ أَلَا تَتَّقُونَ
26:124
Their brother Hud said to them, "Will you not fear God? - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
26:125
إِنِّى لَكُمْ رَسُولٌ أَمِينٌ
26:125
I am a trustworthy messenger for you: - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
26:126
فَٱتَّقُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ وَأَطِيعُونِ
26:126
fear God, then, and obey me. - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
26:127
وَمَآ أَسْـَٔلُكُمْ عَلَيْهِ مِنْ أَجْرٍ ۖ إِنْ أَجْرِىَ إِلَّا عَلَىٰ رَبِّ ٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ
26:127
I ask no recompense of you; my reward is only with the Lord of the Universe. - Wahiduddin Khan (English)

أَتَبْنُونَ بِكُلِّ رِيعٍ ءَايَةً تَعْبَثُونَ
26:128
Do you build monuments on every high place in vanity, - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
26:129
وَتَتَّخِذُونَ مَصَانِعَ لَعَلَّكُمْ تَخْلُدُونَ
26:129
and erect castles hoping that you will live forever. - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
26:130
وَإِذَا بَطَشْتُم بَطَشْتُمْ جَبَّارِينَ
26:130
When you lay hands upon anyone, you do so as tyrants. - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
26:131
فَٱتَّقُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ وَأَطِيعُونِ
26:131
So fear God, and obey me; - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
26:132
وَٱتَّقُوا۟ ٱلَّذِىٓ أَمَدَّكُم بِمَا تَعْلَمُونَ
26:132
fear Him who has aided you with all that you know -- - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
26:133
أَمَدَّكُم بِأَنْعَـٰمٍ وَبَنِينَ
26:133
He has bestowed on you cattle, and sons, - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
26:134
وَجَنَّـٰتٍ وَعُيُونٍ
26:134
and gardens, and springs -- - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
26:135
إِنِّىٓ أَخَافُ عَلَيْكُمْ عَذَابَ يَوْمٍ عَظِيمٍ
26:135
indeed, I fear for you the torment of an awful day." - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
26:136
قَالُوا۟ سَوَآءٌ عَلَيْنَآ أَوَعَظْتَ أَمْ لَمْ تَكُن مِّنَ ٱلْوَٰعِظِينَ
26:136
They replied, "It makes no difference to us whether you preach or do not preach, - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
26:137
إِنْ هَـٰذَآ إِلَّا خُلُقُ ٱلْأَوَّلِينَ
26:137
this is nothing but a habit of the ancients: - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
26:138
وَمَا نَحْنُ بِمُعَذَّبِينَ
26:138
and we shall not be punished." - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
26:139
فَكَذَّبُوهُ فَأَهْلَكْنَـٰهُمْ ۗ إِنَّ فِى ذَٰلِكَ لَـَٔايَةً ۖ وَمَا كَانَ أَكْثَرُهُم مُّؤْمِنِينَ
26:139
So they rejected him; and We destroyed them. There is certainly a sign in that; but most of them would not believe. - Wahiduddin Khan (English)

وَإِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَهُوَ ٱلْعَزِيزُ ٱلرَّحِيمُ
26:140
Surely your Lord is the Mighty One, the Merciful. - Wahiduddin Khan (English)

كَذَّبَتْ ثَمُودُ ٱلْمُرْسَلِينَ
26:141
The tribe of Thamud also rejected the messengers. - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
26:142
إِذْ قَالَ لَهُمْ أَخُوهُمْ صَـٰلِحٌ أَلَا تَتَّقُونَ
26:142
When their brother Salih said to them, "Will you not fear God? - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
26:143
إِنِّى لَكُمْ رَسُولٌ أَمِينٌ
26:143
Truly, I am a trustworthy messenger for you, - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
26:144
فَٱتَّقُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ وَأَطِيعُونِ
26:144
so fear God and obey me. - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
26:145
وَمَآ أَسْـَٔلُكُمْ عَلَيْهِ مِنْ أَجْرٍ ۖ إِنْ أَجْرِىَ إِلَّا عَلَىٰ رَبِّ ٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ
26:145
For this I demand no recompense from you; my reward is only with the Lord of the Universe. - Wahiduddin Khan (English)

أَتُتْرَكُونَ فِى مَا هَـٰهُنَآ ءَامِنِينَ
26:146
Do you think that you will be left secure [forever] -- - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
26:147
فِى جَنَّـٰتٍ وَعُيُونٍ
26:147
in the midst of gardens and fountains, - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
26:148
وَزُرُوعٍ وَنَخْلٍ طَلْعُهَا هَضِيمٌ
26:148
and cornfields, and palm-trees laden with fruit -- - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
26:149
وَتَنْحِتُونَ مِنَ ٱلْجِبَالِ بُيُوتًا فَـٰرِهِينَ
26:149
hewing out houses in the mountains and taking pride in your skill? - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
26:150
فَٱتَّقُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ وَأَطِيعُونِ
26:150
So fear God and obey me: - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
26:151
وَلَا تُطِيعُوٓا۟ أَمْرَ ٱلْمُسْرِفِينَ
26:151
do not obey the bidding of those who are given to excesses, - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
26:152
ٱلَّذِينَ يُفْسِدُونَ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ وَلَا يُصْلِحُونَ
26:152
those who spread corruption in the land instead of putting things right." - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
26:153
قَالُوٓا۟ إِنَّمَآ أَنتَ مِنَ ٱلْمُسَحَّرِينَ
26:153
They replied, "Surely you are bewitched. - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
26:154
مَآ أَنتَ إِلَّا بَشَرٌ مِّثْلُنَا فَأْتِ بِـَٔايَةٍ إِن كُنتَ مِنَ ٱلصَّـٰدِقِينَ
26:154
You are only a human being like ourselves. Show us a sign, if you are telling the truth." - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
26:155
قَالَ هَـٰذِهِۦ نَاقَةٌ لَّهَا شِرْبٌ وَلَكُمْ شِرْبُ يَوْمٍ مَّعْلُومٍ
26:155
He said, "Here is a she-camel. She shall have her turn of drinking, as you have yours, each on an appointed day, - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
26:156
وَلَا تَمَسُّوهَا بِسُوٓءٍ فَيَأْخُذَكُمْ عَذَابُ يَوْمٍ عَظِيمٍ
26:156
so do her no harm, or the punishment of an awful day will befall you." - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
26:157
فَعَقَرُوهَا فَأَصْبَحُوا۟ نَـٰدِمِينَ
26:157
Yet they hamstrung her, and then they became regretful: - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
26:158
فَأَخَذَهُمُ ٱلْعَذَابُ ۗ إِنَّ فِى ذَٰلِكَ لَـَٔايَةً ۖ وَمَا كَانَ أَكْثَرُهُم مُّؤْمِنِينَ
26:158
so the punishment came down upon them. Surely in that there is a sign, but most of them would not believe. - Wahiduddin Khan (English)

وَإِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَهُوَ ٱلْعَزِيزُ ٱلرَّحِيمُ
26:159
Your Lord is the Mighty One, the Merciful. - Wahiduddin Khan (English)

كَذَّبَتْ قَوْمُ لُوطٍ ٱلْمُرْسَلِينَ
26:160
Then the people of Lot rejected the messengers. - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
26:161
إِذْ قَالَ لَهُمْ أَخُوهُمْ لُوطٌ أَلَا تَتَّقُونَ
26:161
When their brother Lot said to them, "Will you not fear God? - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
26:162
إِنِّى لَكُمْ رَسُولٌ أَمِينٌ
26:162
I am a trustworthy messenger to you: - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
26:163
فَٱتَّقُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ وَأَطِيعُونِ

وَمَآ أَسْـَٔلُكُمْ عَلَيْهِ مِنْ أَجْرٍ ۖ إِنْ أَجْرِىَ إِلَّا عَلَىٰ رَبِّ ٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ

أَتَأْتُونَ ٱلذُّكْرَانَ مِنَ ٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ

Do you, of all people, approach males, - Wahiduddin Khan (English)

وَتَذَرُونَ مَا خَلَقَ لَكُمْ رَبُّكُم مِّنْ أَزْوَٰجِكُم ۚ بَلْ أَنتُمْ قَوْمٌ عَادُونَ
26:166
and leave your wives whom your Lord has created for you? You are a people who transgress all bounds." - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
26:167
قَالُوا۟ لَئِن لَّمْ تَنتَهِ يَـٰلُوطُ لَتَكُونَنَّ مِنَ ٱلْمُخْرَجِينَ
26:167
They said, "If you do not desist, Lot, you will surely be banished." - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
26:168
قَالَ إِنِّى لِعَمَلِكُم مِّنَ ٱلْقَالِينَ
26:168
He said, "I am one of those who abhors your ways. - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
26:169
رَبِّ نَجِّنِى وَأَهْلِى مِمَّا يَعْمَلُونَ
26:169
My Lord, save me and my family from their evil doings." - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
26:170
فَنَجَّيْنَـٰهُ وَأَهْلَهُۥٓ أَجْمَعِينَ
26:170
We saved him and all of his family, - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
26:171
إِلَّا عَجُوزًا فِى ٱلْغَـٰبِرِينَ
26:171
except for an old woman who stayed behind, - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
26:172
ثُمَّ دَمَّرْنَا ٱلْـَٔاخَرِينَ
26:172
then We totally destroyed the rest, - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
26:173
وَأَمْطَرْنَا عَلَيْهِم مَّطَرًا ۖ فَسَآءَ مَطَرُ ٱلْمُنذَرِينَ
26:173
and We poured a rain [of destruction] down upon them -- and how evil was the rain which fell on those who were forewarned. - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
26:174
إِنَّ فِى ذَٰلِكَ لَـَٔايَةً ۖ وَمَا كَانَ أَكْثَرُهُم مُّؤْمِنِينَ
26:174
Surely in this there is a sign: but most of them would not believe: - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
26:175
وَإِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَهُوَ ٱلْعَزِيزُ ٱلرَّحِيمُ
26:175
your Lord is the Mighty One, the Merciful. - Wahiduddin Khan (English)

كَذَّبَ أَصْحَـٰبُ لْـَٔيْكَةِ ٱلْمُرْسَلِينَ
26:176
The dwellers of the forest also rejected the messengers. - Wahiduddin Khan (English)

إِذْ قَالَ لَهُمْ شُعَيْبٌ أَلَا تَتَّقُونَ
26:177
Shu'ayb said to them, "Will you not fear God? - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
26:178
إِنِّى لَكُمْ رَسُولٌ أَمِينٌ
26:178
I am a trustworthy messenger to you: - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
26:179
فَٱتَّقُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ وَأَطِيعُونِ
26:179
so fear God, and obey me. - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
26:180
وَمَآ أَسْـَٔلُكُمْ عَلَيْهِ مِنْ أَجْرٍ ۖ إِنْ أَجْرِىَ إِلَّا عَلَىٰ رَبِّ ٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ

I ask of you no recompense for this; my reward is only with the Lord of the Universe. - Wahiduddin Khan (English)

۞ أَوْفُوا۟ ٱلْكَيْلَ وَلَا تَكُونُوا۟ مِنَ ٱلْمُخْسِرِينَ
26:181
Give full measure, and cause no loss to others. - Wahiduddin Khan (English)

وَزِنُوا۟ بِٱلْقِسْطَاسِ ٱلْمُسْتَقِيمِ
26:182
Weigh with correct scales: - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
26:183
وَلَا تَبْخَسُوا۟ ٱلنَّاسَ أَشْيَآءَهُمْ وَلَا تَعْثَوْا۟ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ مُفْسِدِينَ
26:183
do not defraud people of what is rightfully theirs; and do not spread corruption in the land. - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
26:184
وَٱتَّقُوا۟ ٱلَّذِى خَلَقَكُمْ وَٱلْجِبِلَّةَ ٱلْأَوَّلِينَ
26:184
Fear Him who created you and those who have gone before you." - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
26:185
قَالُوٓا۟ إِنَّمَآ أَنتَ مِنَ ٱلْمُسَحَّرِينَ
26:185
They replied, "You are bewitched. - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
26:186
وَمَآ أَنتَ إِلَّا بَشَرٌ مِّثْلُنَا وَإِن نَّظُنُّكَ لَمِنَ ٱلْكَـٰذِبِينَ
26:186
You are only a human being like ourselves. Indeed we think you are a liar. - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
26:187
فَأَسْقِطْ عَلَيْنَا كِسَفًا مِّنَ ٱلسَّمَآءِ إِن كُنتَ مِنَ ٱلصَّـٰدِقِينَ
26:187
So cause a fragment of the sky to fall on us, if you are truthful." - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
26:188
قَالَ رَبِّىٓ أَعْلَمُ بِمَا تَعْمَلُونَ
26:188
He said, "My Lord has full knowledge of all your actions." - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
26:189
فَكَذَّبُوهُ فَأَخَذَهُمْ عَذَابُ يَوْمِ ٱلظُّلَّةِ ۚ إِنَّهُۥ كَانَ عَذَابَ يَوْمٍ عَظِيمٍ
26:189
They rejected him, and then had to suffer the punishment of a day of overshadowing gloom. That was indeed the punishment of an awful day. - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
26:190
إِنَّ فِى ذَٰلِكَ لَـَٔايَةً ۖ وَمَا كَانَ أَكْثَرُهُم مُّؤْمِنِينَ
26:190
Surely, in this is indeed a sign; but most of them would not believe: - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
26:191
وَإِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَهُوَ ٱلْعَزِيزُ ٱلرَّحِيمُ
26:191
your Lord is the Mighty One, the Merciful. - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
26:192
وَإِنَّهُۥ لَتَنزِيلُ رَبِّ ٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ
26:192
This surely is a revelation from the Lord of the Universe: - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
26:193
نَزَلَ بِهِ ٱلرُّوحُ ٱلْأَمِينُ
26:193
the Faithful Spirit has brought it down - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
26:194
عَلَىٰ قَلْبِكَ لِتَكُونَ مِنَ ٱلْمُنذِرِينَ
26:194
into your heart, so that you may be a warner, - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
26:195
بِلِسَانٍ عَرَبِىٍّ مُّبِينٍ
26:195
in clear Arabic speech. - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
26:196
وَإِنَّهُۥ لَفِى زُبُرِ ٱلْأَوَّلِينَ
26:196
Surely, it is foretold in the ancient scriptures. - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
26:197
أَوَلَمْ يَكُن لَّهُمْ ءَايَةً أَن يَعْلَمَهُۥ عُلَمَـٰٓؤُا۟ بَنِىٓ إِسْرَٰٓءِيلَ

Is it not evidence enough for them that the learned among the Children of Israel have recognized this [as true]? - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
26:198
وَلَوْ نَزَّلْنَـٰهُ عَلَىٰ بَعْضِ ٱلْأَعْجَمِينَ
26:198
Had We revealed it to any one of the non-Arabs, - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
26:199
فَقَرَأَهُۥ عَلَيْهِم مَّا كَانُوا۟ بِهِۦ مُؤْمِنِينَ
26:199
and he had recited it to them, they would not have believed in it. - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
26:200
كَذَٰلِكَ سَلَكْنَـٰهُ فِى قُلُوبِ ٱلْمُجْرِمِينَ
26:200
We have thus caused denial of truth to enter into the hearts of the sinners: - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
26:201
لَا يُؤْمِنُونَ بِهِۦ حَتَّىٰ يَرَوُا۟ ٱلْعَذَابَ ٱلْأَلِيمَ
26:201
they will not believe in it until they see the grievous punishment. - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
26:202
فَيَأْتِيَهُم بَغْتَةً وَهُمْ لَا يَشْعُرُونَ
26:202
It will come upon them suddenly when they are not expecting it. - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
26:203
فَيَقُولُوا۟ هَلْ نَحْنُ مُنظَرُونَ
26:203
Then they will exclaim, "Could we have some respite?" - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
26:204
أَفَبِعَذَابِنَا يَسْتَعْجِلُونَ
26:204
Do they want to hasten Our punishment? - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
26:205
أَفَرَءَيْتَ إِن مَّتَّعْنَـٰهُمْ سِنِينَ
26:205
Think! If We let them enjoy life for some years, - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
26:206
ثُمَّ جَآءَهُم مَّا كَانُوا۟ يُوعَدُونَ
26:206

مَآ أَغْنَىٰ عَنْهُم مَّا كَانُوا۟ يُمَتَّعُونَ
26:207
of what avail would their past enjoyment be to them? - Wahiduddin Khan (English)

وَمَآ أَهْلَكْنَا مِن قَرْيَةٍ إِلَّا لَهَا مُنذِرُونَ
26:208
Never have We destroyed a town without sending down messengers to warn it, - Wahiduddin Khan (English)

ذِكْرَىٰ وَمَا كُنَّا ظَـٰلِمِينَ
26:209
as a reminder from Us: We are never unjust. - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
26:210
وَمَا تَنَزَّلَتْ بِهِ ٱلشَّيَـٰطِينُ
26:210
It was not the devils who brought down the Quran: - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
26:211
وَمَا يَنۢبَغِى لَهُمْ وَمَا يَسْتَطِيعُونَ
26:211
neither are they worthy of it, nor are they capable of it, - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
26:212
إِنَّهُمْ عَنِ ٱلسَّمْعِ لَمَعْزُولُونَ
26:212
indeed they are debarred from overhearing it. - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
26:213
فَلَا تَدْعُ مَعَ ٱللَّهِ إِلَـٰهًا ءَاخَرَ فَتَكُونَ مِنَ ٱلْمُعَذَّبِينَ
26:213
So do not call on any deity besides God, lest you incur His punishment. - Wahiduddin Khan (English)

وَأَنذِرْ عَشِيرَتَكَ ٱلْأَقْرَبِينَ
26:214
Warn your nearest kinsmen, - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
26:215
وَٱخْفِضْ جَنَاحَكَ لِمَنِ ٱتَّبَعَكَ مِنَ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ
26:215
and extend kindness and affection to those of the believers who follow you. - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
26:216
فَإِنْ عَصَوْكَ فَقُلْ إِنِّى بَرِىٓءٌ مِّمَّا تَعْمَلُونَ
26:216
If they disobey you, say, "I bear no responsibility for what you do." - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
26:217
وَتَوَكَّلْ عَلَى ٱلْعَزِيزِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
26:217
Put your trust in the Mighty One, the Merciful, - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
26:218
ٱلَّذِى يَرَىٰكَ حِينَ تَقُومُ
26:218
who sees you when you stand up [for prayer], - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
26:219
وَتَقَلُّبَكَ فِى ٱلسَّـٰجِدِينَ
26:219
and sees your movements among those who prostrate themselves: - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
26:220
إِنَّهُۥ هُوَ ٱلسَّمِيعُ ٱلْعَلِيمُ
26:220
He is the All Hearing, the All Knowing. - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
26:221
هَلْ أُنَبِّئُكُمْ عَلَىٰ مَن تَنَزَّلُ ٱلشَّيَـٰطِينُ
26:221
Shall I tell you upon whom the devils descend? - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
26:222
تَنَزَّلُ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ أَفَّاكٍ أَثِيمٍ
26:222
They descend on every lying sinner, - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
26:223
يُلْقُونَ ٱلسَّمْعَ وَأَكْثَرُهُمْ كَـٰذِبُونَ
26:223
who lends an ear to them, and most of them are liars. - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
26:224
وَٱلشُّعَرَآءُ يَتَّبِعُهُمُ ٱلْغَاوُۥنَ
26:224
And as for the poets -- it is the misled who follow them. - Wahiduddin Khan (English)

أَلَمْ تَرَ أَنَّهُمْ فِى كُلِّ وَادٍ يَهِيمُونَ
26:225
Do you not see how they wander aimlessly in every valley, - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
26:226
وَأَنَّهُمْ يَقُولُونَ مَا لَا يَفْعَلُونَ
26:226
preaching what they do not practice. - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
26:227
إِلَّا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ وَعَمِلُوا۟ ٱلصَّـٰلِحَـٰتِ وَذَكَرُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ كَثِيرًا وَٱنتَصَرُوا۟ مِنۢ بَعْدِ مَا ظُلِمُوا۟ ۗ وَسَيَعْلَمُ ٱلَّذِينَ ظَلَمُوٓا۟ أَىَّ مُنقَلَبٍ يَنقَلِبُونَ
26:227
Not so the true believers who do good works and remember God with fervour and defend themselves only after they are wronged. The wrongdoers will soon know how evil a turn their affairs will take. - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
