بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful.
83:1
وَيْلٌ لِّلْمُطَفِّفِينَ
83:1
Woe to those who are fraudulent in (weighing and measuring), - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
83:2
ٱلَّذِينَ إِذَا ٱكْتَالُوا۟ عَلَى ٱلنَّاسِ يَسْتَوْفُونَ
83:2
those who demand a full measure from others - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
83:3
وَإِذَا كَالُوهُمْ أَو وَّزَنُوهُمْ يُخْسِرُونَ
83:3
but when they measure or weigh, give less. - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
83:4
أَلَا يَظُنُّ أُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَ أَنَّهُم مَّبْعُوثُونَ
83:4
Do they not realize that they will be resurrected - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
83:5
لِيَوْمٍ عَظِيمٍ
83:5
on a great day - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
83:6
يَوْمَ يَقُومُ ٱلنَّاسُ لِرَبِّ ٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ
83:6
when mankind will stand before the Lord of the Universe? - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
83:7
كَلَّآ إِنَّ كِتَـٰبَ ٱلْفُجَّارِ لَفِى سِجِّينٍ
83:7
Woe to them! Let them know that the records of the sinner's deeds are in Sijin. - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
83:8
وَمَآ أَدْرَىٰكَ مَا سِجِّينٌ
83:8
Would that you knew what Sijin is!? - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
83:9
كِتَـٰبٌ مَّرْقُومٌ
83:9
It is a comprehensively written Book (of records). - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
83:10
وَيْلٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ لِّلْمُكَذِّبِينَ
83:10
Woe, on that day, to those who have rejected God's revelations - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
83:11
ٱلَّذِينَ يُكَذِّبُونَ بِيَوْمِ ٱلدِّينِ
83:11
and those who have rejected the Day of Judgment. - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
83:12
وَمَا يُكَذِّبُ بِهِۦٓ إِلَّا كُلُّ مُعْتَدٍ أَثِيمٍ
83:12
No one rejects it except the sinful transgressors - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
83:13
إِذَا تُتْلَىٰ عَلَيْهِ ءَايَـٰتُنَا قَالَ أَسَـٰطِيرُ ٱلْأَوَّلِينَ
83:13
who, when listening to Our revelations, say, "These are only ancient legends". - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
83:14
كَلَّا ۖ بَلْ ۜ رَانَ عَلَىٰ قُلُوبِهِم مَّا كَانُوا۟ يَكْسِبُونَ
83:14
They will never have faith. In fact, their hearts are stained from their deeds. - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
83:15
كَلَّآ إِنَّهُمْ عَن رَّبِّهِمْ يَوْمَئِذٍ لَّمَحْجُوبُونَ
83:15
On the Day of Judgment, they will certainly be barred from the mercy of their Lord. - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
83:16
ثُمَّ إِنَّهُمْ لَصَالُوا۟ ٱلْجَحِيمِ
83:16
They will suffer the heat of fire - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
83:17
ثُمَّ يُقَالُ هَـٰذَا ٱلَّذِى كُنتُم بِهِۦ تُكَذِّبُونَ
83:17
and who will be told, "This is what you had called a lie". - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
83:18
كَلَّآ إِنَّ كِتَـٰبَ ٱلْأَبْرَارِ لَفِى عِلِّيِّينَ
83:18
However, the records of the deeds of the virtuous ones will certainly be in Illiyin. - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
83:19
وَمَآ أَدْرَىٰكَ مَا عِلِّيُّونَ
83:19
Would that you knew what Illiyin is! - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
83:20
كِتَـٰبٌ مَّرْقُومٌ
83:20
It is a comprehensively written Book (of records). - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
83:21
يَشْهَدُهُ ٱلْمُقَرَّبُونَ
83:21
The ones nearest to God will bring it to public. - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
83:22
إِنَّ ٱلْأَبْرَارَ لَفِى نَعِيمٍ
83:22
The virtuous will live in bliss, - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
83:23
عَلَى ٱلْأَرَآئِكِ يَنظُرُونَ
83:23
reclining on couches, reviewing (the bounties given to them). - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
83:24
تَعْرِفُ فِى وُجُوهِهِمْ نَضْرَةَ ٱلنَّعِيمِ
83:24
You can trace on their faces the joy of their bliss. - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
83:25
يُسْقَوْنَ مِن رَّحِيقٍ مَّخْتُومٍ
83:25
They will be given pure wine out of sealed containers - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
83:26
خِتَـٰمُهُۥ مِسْكٌ ۚ وَفِى ذَٰلِكَ فَلْيَتَنَافَسِ ٱلْمُتَنَـٰفِسُونَ
83:26
which have the fragrance of musk. This is the kind of place for which one should really aspire. - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
83:27
وَمِزَاجُهُۥ مِن تَسْنِيمٍ
83:27
With the wine is a drink from Tasnim, - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
83:28
عَيْنًا يَشْرَبُ بِهَا ٱلْمُقَرَّبُونَ
83:28
a spring, the nearest ones to God will drink from it. - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
83:29
إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ أَجْرَمُوا۟ كَانُوا۟ مِنَ ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ يَضْحَكُونَ
83:29
The sinners had been laughing at the believers. - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
83:30
وَإِذَا مَرُّوا۟ بِهِمْ يَتَغَامَزُونَ
83:30
When passing by them, they would wink at one another - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
83:31
وَإِذَا ٱنقَلَبُوٓا۟ إِلَىٰٓ أَهْلِهِمُ ٱنقَلَبُوا۟ فَكِهِينَ
83:31
and, on returning to their people, boast about what they had done. - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
83:32
وَإِذَا رَأَوْهُمْ قَالُوٓا۟ إِنَّ هَـٰٓؤُلَآءِ لَضَآلُّونَ
83:32
On seeing the believers, they would say, "These people have gone astray". - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
83:33
وَمَآ أُرْسِلُوا۟ عَلَيْهِمْ حَـٰفِظِينَ
83:33
No one has appointed them to watch over the believers. - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
83:34
فَٱلْيَوْمَ ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ مِنَ ٱلْكُفَّارِ يَضْحَكُونَ
83:34
On the Day of Judgment, the believers will laugh at the disbelievers - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
83:35
عَلَى ٱلْأَرَآئِكِ يَنظُرُونَ
83:35
while reclining on couches and reviewing (the bounties given to them). - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
83:36
هَلْ ثُوِّبَ ٱلْكُفَّارُ مَا كَانُوا۟ يَفْعَلُونَ
83:36
Will not the disbelievers then be duly recompensed for their laughing at the believers? - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
