Transliteration
Wahiduddin Khan
بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful.
44:1
حمٓ
44:1
Ha. Mim. - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
44:2
وَٱلْكِتَـٰبِ ٱلْمُبِينِ
44:2
I swear by the illustrious Book. - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
44:3
إِنَّآ أَنزَلْنَـٰهُ فِى لَيْلَةٍ مُّبَـٰرَكَةٍ ۚ إِنَّا كُنَّا مُنذِرِينَ
44:3
that We have revealed the Quran on a blessed night to warn mankind. - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
44:4
فِيهَا يُفْرَقُ كُلُّ أَمْرٍ حَكِيمٍ
44:4
On this night, every absolute command coming from Us becomes distinguishable. - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
44:5
أَمْرًا مِّنْ عِندِنَآ ۚ إِنَّا كُنَّا مُرْسِلِينَ
44:5
The command that We have been sending - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
44:6
رَحْمَةً مِّن رَّبِّكَ ۚ إِنَّهُۥ هُوَ ٱلسَّمِيعُ ٱلْعَلِيمُ
44:6
as a mercy (for the human being) from your Lord. Your Lord is All-hearing and All-knowing. - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
44:7
رَبِّ ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَآ ۖ إِن كُنتُم مُّوقِنِينَ
44:7
He is the Lord of the heavens and the earth and all that is between them, if only you would have strong faith. - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
44:8
لَآ إِلَـٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَ يُحْىِۦ وَيُمِيتُ ۖ رَبُّكُمْ وَرَبُّ ءَابَآئِكُمُ ٱلْأَوَّلِينَ
44:8
There is only One Lord. It is He who gives life and causes things to die. He is your Lord and the Lord of your forefathers. - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
44:9
بَلْ هُمْ فِى شَكٍّ يَلْعَبُونَ
44:9
In fact, the unbelievers have doubts because of excessive involvement in worldly affairs. - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
44:10
فَٱرْتَقِبْ يَوْمَ تَأْتِى ٱلسَّمَآءُ بِدُخَانٍ مُّبِينٍ
44:10
Wait for the day (which will come before the Day of Judgment) when the sky will give out dense smoke - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
44:11
يَغْشَى ٱلنَّاسَ ۖ هَـٰذَا عَذَابٌ أَلِيمٌ
44:11
which will smother the people. They will say, "This is a painful torment. - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
44:12
رَّبَّنَا ٱكْشِفْ عَنَّا ٱلْعَذَابَ إِنَّا مُؤْمِنُونَ
44:12
Lord, remove this torment from us for we are believers". - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
44:13
أَنَّىٰ لَهُمُ ٱلذِّكْرَىٰ وَقَدْ جَآءَهُمْ رَسُولٌ مُّبِينٌ
44:13
How could this punishment bring them to their senses when a Messenger evidently had come to them, - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
44:14
ثُمَّ تَوَلَّوْا۟ عَنْهُ وَقَالُوا۟ مُعَلَّمٌ مَّجْنُونٌ
44:14
and they turned away, saying, "He is a trained and insane person". - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
44:15
إِنَّا كَاشِفُوا۟ ٱلْعَذَابِ قَلِيلًا ۚ إِنَّكُمْ عَآئِدُونَ
44:15
We shall remove the torment for a while but you will revert to your old ways. - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
44:16
يَوْمَ نَبْطِشُ ٱلْبَطْشَةَ ٱلْكُبْرَىٰٓ إِنَّا مُنتَقِمُونَ
44:16
However, We shall truly take Our revenge on the day when the great seizure takes place. - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
44:17
۞ وَلَقَدْ فَتَنَّا قَبْلَهُمْ قَوْمَ فِرْعَوْنَ وَجَآءَهُمْ رَسُولٌ كَرِيمٌ
44:17
We had certainly tested the people of the Pharaoh before them to whom a noble Messengers had come, saying, - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
44:18
أَنْ أَدُّوٓا۟ إِلَىَّ عِبَادَ ٱللَّهِ ۖ إِنِّى لَكُمْ رَسُولٌ أَمِينٌ
44:18
"Send the servants of God with me. I am a trustworthy Messenger sent to you. - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
44:19
وَأَن لَّا تَعْلُوا۟ عَلَى ٱللَّهِ ۖ إِنِّىٓ ءَاتِيكُم بِسُلْطَـٰنٍ مُّبِينٍ
44:19
Do not consider yourselves above God? I shall show you a manifest authority (in support of my truthfulness). - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
44:20
وَإِنِّى عُذْتُ بِرَبِّى وَرَبِّكُمْ أَن تَرْجُمُونِ
44:20
I seek protection from my Lord and your Lord from your decision of stoning me. - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
44:21
وَإِن لَّمْ تُؤْمِنُوا۟ لِى فَٱعْتَزِلُونِ
44:21
If you do not want to believe, leave me alone". - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
44:22
فَدَعَا رَبَّهُۥٓ أَنَّ هَـٰٓؤُلَآءِ قَوْمٌ مُّجْرِمُونَ
44:22
Moses addressed his Lord, saying, "Lord, these people are sinners". - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
44:23
فَأَسْرِ بِعِبَادِى لَيْلًا إِنَّكُم مُّتَّبَعُونَ
44:23
We told him, "Leave the city with My servants during the night. You will be pursued. - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
44:24
وَٱتْرُكِ ٱلْبَحْرَ رَهْوًا ۖ إِنَّهُمْ جُندٌ مُّغْرَقُونَ
44:24
Cross the sea by cutting a path through it. Pharaoh's army will be drowned. - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
44:25
كَمْ تَرَكُوا۟ مِن جَنَّـٰتٍ وَعُيُونٍ
44:25
How many were the gardens, springs, - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
44:26
وَزُرُوعٍ وَمَقَامٍ كَرِيمٍ
44:26
corn-fields, gracious mansions, - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
44:27
وَنَعْمَةٍ كَانُوا۟ فِيهَا فَـٰكِهِينَ
44:27
and other bounties which they enjoyed yet left behind! - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
44:28
كَذَٰلِكَ ۖ وَأَوْرَثْنَـٰهَا قَوْمًا ءَاخَرِينَ
44:28
We gave these as an inheritance to other people. - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
44:29
فَمَا بَكَتْ عَلَيْهِمُ ٱلسَّمَآءُ وَٱلْأَرْضُ وَمَا كَانُوا۟ مُنظَرِينَ
44:29
The sky nor the earth cried for them, nor were they given respite. - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
44:30
وَلَقَدْ نَجَّيْنَا بَنِىٓ إِسْرَٰٓءِيلَ مِنَ ٱلْعَذَابِ ٱلْمُهِينِ
44:30
We rescued the Israelites from the humiliating torment - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
44:31
مِن فِرْعَوْنَ ۚ إِنَّهُۥ كَانَ عَالِيًا مِّنَ ٱلْمُسْرِفِينَ
44:31
and from the Pharaoh. He was the chief of the transgressors. - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
44:32
وَلَقَدِ ٱخْتَرْنَـٰهُمْ عَلَىٰ عِلْمٍ عَلَى ٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ
44:32
We gave preference to the Israelites over the other people with Our knowledge - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
44:33
وَءَاتَيْنَـٰهُم مِّنَ ٱلْـَٔايَـٰتِ مَا فِيهِ بَلَـٰٓؤٌا۟ مُّبِينٌ
44:33
and sent them revelations of which some were a clear trial for them. - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
44:34
إِنَّ هَـٰٓؤُلَآءِ لَيَقُولُونَ
44:34
These people say, - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
44:35
إِنْ هِىَ إِلَّا مَوْتَتُنَا ٱلْأُولَىٰ وَمَا نَحْنُ بِمُنشَرِينَ
44:35
"After we die, we shall never be raised to life again. - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
44:36
فَأْتُوا۟ بِـَٔابَآئِنَآ إِن كُنتُمْ صَـٰدِقِينَ
44:36
Bring back to life our fathers if what you say is true". - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
44:37
أَهُمْ خَيْرٌ أَمْ قَوْمُ تُبَّعٍ وَٱلَّذِينَ مِن قَبْلِهِمْ ۚ أَهْلَكْنَـٰهُمْ ۖ إِنَّهُمْ كَانُوا۟ مُجْرِمِينَ
44:37
Are they better than the tribe of Tubba (name of a Yemenite tribal chief) and those who lived before them? We destroyed them. They were criminals. - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
44:38
وَمَا خَلَقْنَا ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضَ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَا لَـٰعِبِينَ
44:38
We have not created the heavens and the earth and all that is between them for Our own amusement. - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
44:39
مَا خَلَقْنَـٰهُمَآ إِلَّا بِٱلْحَقِّ وَلَـٰكِنَّ أَكْثَرَهُمْ لَا يَعْلَمُونَ
44:39
We have created them for a genuine purpose, but most people do not know. - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
44:40
إِنَّ يَوْمَ ٱلْفَصْلِ مِيقَـٰتُهُمْ أَجْمَعِينَ
44:40
The appointed time for all of them will be the Day of Judgment - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
44:41
يَوْمَ لَا يُغْنِى مَوْلًى عَن مَّوْلًى شَيْـًٔا وَلَا هُمْ يُنصَرُونَ
44:41
(when wrong will be distinguished from right). On this day friends will be of no benefit to one another, nor will they receive any help - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
44:42
إِلَّا مَن رَّحِمَ ٱللَّهُ ۚ إِنَّهُۥ هُوَ ٱلْعَزِيزُ ٱلرَّحِيمُ
44:42
except for those to whom God grants mercy. He is Majestic and All-merciful. - Muhammad Sarwar (English)

إِنَّ شَجَرَتَ ٱلزَّقُّومِ
44:43
The tree of Zaqqum - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
44:44
طَعَامُ ٱلْأَثِيمِ
44:44
is food for the sinner. - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
44:45
كَٱلْمُهْلِ يَغْلِى فِى ٱلْبُطُونِ
44:45
It will be like molted brass which will boil in the bellies - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
44:46
كَغَلْىِ ٱلْحَمِيمِ
44:46
like water. - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
44:47
خُذُوهُ فَٱعْتِلُوهُ إِلَىٰ سَوَآءِ ٱلْجَحِيمِ
44:47
(It will be said of such sinners), "Seize them and drag them into the middle of hell. - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
44:48
ثُمَّ صُبُّوا۟ فَوْقَ رَأْسِهِۦ مِنْ عَذَابِ ٱلْحَمِيمِ
44:48
Then pour unto their heads the boiling water to torment them". - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
44:49
ذُقْ إِنَّكَ أَنتَ ٱلْعَزِيزُ ٱلْكَرِيمُ
44:49
They will be told, "Suffer the torment. You had thought yourselves to be majestic and honorable. - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
44:50
إِنَّ هَـٰذَا مَا كُنتُم بِهِۦ تَمْتَرُونَ
44:50
This is the torment that you persistently doubted". - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
44:51
إِنَّ ٱلْمُتَّقِينَ فِى مَقَامٍ أَمِينٍ
44:51
The pious ones will be in a secure place - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
44:52
فِى جَنَّـٰتٍ وَعُيُونٍ
44:52
amid gardens and springs, - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
44:53
يَلْبَسُونَ مِن سُندُسٍ وَإِسْتَبْرَقٍ مُّتَقَـٰبِلِينَ
44:53
clothed in fine silk and rich brocade, sitting face to face with one another. - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
44:54
كَذَٰلِكَ وَزَوَّجْنَـٰهُم بِحُورٍ عِينٍ
44:54
We shall unite them to maidens with big black and white lovely eyes. - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
44:55
يَدْعُونَ فِيهَا بِكُلِّ فَـٰكِهَةٍ ءَامِنِينَ
44:55
They will be offered all kinds of fruits, in peace and security. - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
44:56
لَا يَذُوقُونَ فِيهَا ٱلْمَوْتَ إِلَّا ٱلْمَوْتَةَ ٱلْأُولَىٰ ۖ وَوَقَىٰهُمْ عَذَابَ ٱلْجَحِيمِ
44:56
They will not experience any death other than that which they have already been through. - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
44:57
فَضْلًا مِّن رَّبِّكَ ۚ ذَٰلِكَ هُوَ ٱلْفَوْزُ ٱلْعَظِيمُ
44:57
God will protect them from the torment of hell as a favor from your Lord. (Muhammad), this is certainly the greatest triumph. - Muhammad Sarwar (English)

فَإِنَّمَا يَسَّرْنَـٰهُ بِلِسَانِكَ لَعَلَّهُمْ يَتَذَكَّرُونَ
44:58
We have made the Quran easy for you to recite so that perhaps they may take heed. - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
44:59
فَٱرْتَقِبْ إِنَّهُم مُّرْتَقِبُونَ
44:59
Wait (for God's decree) and they too will be waiting. - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
