بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful.
44:1
حمٓ
44:1
Ha, Meem. - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
44:2
وَٱلْكِتَـٰبِ ٱلْمُبِينِ
44:2
By the Manifest Book! - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
44:3
إِنَّآ أَنزَلْنَـٰهُ فِى لَيْلَةٍ مُّبَـٰرَكَةٍ ۚ إِنَّا كُنَّا مُنذِرِينَ
44:3
We sent it down on a blessed night, and We have been warning [mankind]. - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
44:4
فِيهَا يُفْرَقُ كُلُّ أَمْرٍ حَكِيمٍ
44:4
Every definitive matter is resolved on it, - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
44:5
أَمْرًا مِّنْ عِندِنَآ ۚ إِنَّا كُنَّا مُرْسِلِينَ
44:5
as an ordinance from Us. We have been sending [apostles] - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
44:6
رَحْمَةً مِّن رَّبِّكَ ۚ إِنَّهُۥ هُوَ ٱلسَّمِيعُ ٱلْعَلِيمُ
44:6
as a mercy from your Lord—indeed He is the All-hearing, the All-knowing— - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
44:7
رَبِّ ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَآ ۖ إِن كُنتُم مُّوقِنِينَ
44:7
the Lord of the heavens and the earth, and whatever is between them, should you have conviction. - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
44:8
لَآ إِلَـٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَ يُحْىِۦ وَيُمِيتُ ۖ رَبُّكُمْ وَرَبُّ ءَابَآئِكُمُ ٱلْأَوَّلِينَ
44:8
There is no god except Him: He gives life and brings death, your Lord and the Lord of your forefathers. - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
44:9
بَلْ هُمْ فِى شَكٍّ يَلْعَبُونَ
44:9
But they play around in doubt. - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
44:10
فَٱرْتَقِبْ يَوْمَ تَأْتِى ٱلسَّمَآءُ بِدُخَانٍ مُّبِينٍ
44:10
So watch out for the day when the sky brings on a manifest smoke, - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
44:11
يَغْشَى ٱلنَّاسَ ۖ هَـٰذَا عَذَابٌ أَلِيمٌ
44:11
enveloping the people. [They will cry out:] ‘This is a painful punishment. - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
44:12
رَّبَّنَا ٱكْشِفْ عَنَّا ٱلْعَذَابَ إِنَّا مُؤْمِنُونَ
44:12
Our Lord! Remove this punishment from us. Indeed we have believed!’ - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
44:13
أَنَّىٰ لَهُمُ ٱلذِّكْرَىٰ وَقَدْ جَآءَهُمْ رَسُولٌ مُّبِينٌ
44:13
What will the admonition avail them, when a manifest apostle had already come to them, - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
44:14
ثُمَّ تَوَلَّوْا۟ عَنْهُ وَقَالُوا۟ مُعَلَّمٌ مَّجْنُونٌ
44:14
but they turned away from him, and said, ‘A tutored madman?’ - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
44:15
إِنَّا كَاشِفُوا۟ ٱلْعَذَابِ قَلِيلًا ۚ إِنَّكُمْ عَآئِدُونَ
44:15
Indeed We will withdraw the punishment a little; but you will revert [to your earlier ways]. - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
44:16
يَوْمَ نَبْطِشُ ٱلْبَطْشَةَ ٱلْكُبْرَىٰٓ إِنَّا مُنتَقِمُونَ
44:16
The day We shall strike with the most terrible striking, We will indeed take vengeance [on them]. - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
44:17
۞ وَلَقَدْ فَتَنَّا قَبْلَهُمْ قَوْمَ فِرْعَوْنَ وَجَآءَهُمْ رَسُولٌ كَرِيمٌ
44:17
Certainly We tried the people of Pharaoh before them, when a noble apostle came to them, - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
44:18
أَنْ أَدُّوٓا۟ إِلَىَّ عِبَادَ ٱللَّهِ ۖ إِنِّى لَكُمْ رَسُولٌ أَمِينٌ
44:18
[saying,] ‘Give over the servants of Allah to me; indeed I am a trusted apostle [sent] to you. - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
44:19
وَأَن لَّا تَعْلُوا۟ عَلَى ٱللَّهِ ۖ إِنِّىٓ ءَاتِيكُم بِسُلْطَـٰنٍ مُّبِينٍ
44:19
Do not defy Allah. Indeed I bring you a manifest authority. - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
44:20
وَإِنِّى عُذْتُ بِرَبِّى وَرَبِّكُمْ أَن تَرْجُمُونِ
44:20
I seek the protection of my Lord and your Lord, lest you should stone me. - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
44:21
وَإِن لَّمْ تُؤْمِنُوا۟ لِى فَٱعْتَزِلُونِ
44:21
And if you do not believe me, keep out of my way.’ - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
44:22
فَدَعَا رَبَّهُۥٓ أَنَّ هَـٰٓؤُلَآءِ قَوْمٌ مُّجْرِمُونَ
44:22
Then he invoked his Lord, [saying,] ‘These are indeed a guilty lot.’ - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
44:23
فَأَسْرِ بِعِبَادِى لَيْلًا إِنَّكُم مُّتَّبَعُونَ
44:23
[Allah told him,] ‘Set out by night with My servants; for you will be pursued. - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
44:24
وَٱتْرُكِ ٱلْبَحْرَ رَهْوًا ۖ إِنَّهُمْ جُندٌ مُّغْرَقُونَ
44:24
Leave behind the sea unmoving; for they will be a drowned host.’ - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
44:25
كَمْ تَرَكُوا۟ مِن جَنَّـٰتٍ وَعُيُونٍ
44:25
How many gardens and springs did they leave behind! - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
44:26
وَزُرُوعٍ وَمَقَامٍ كَرِيمٍ
44:26
Fields and splendid places, - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
44:27
وَنَعْمَةٍ كَانُوا۟ فِيهَا فَـٰكِهِينَ
44:27
and the affluence wherein they rejoiced! - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
44:28
كَذَٰلِكَ ۖ وَأَوْرَثْنَـٰهَا قَوْمًا ءَاخَرِينَ
44:28
So it was; and We bequeathed them to another people. - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
44:29
فَمَا بَكَتْ عَلَيْهِمُ ٱلسَّمَآءُ وَٱلْأَرْضُ وَمَا كَانُوا۟ مُنظَرِينَ
44:29
So neither the sky wept for them, nor the earth; nor were they granted any respite. - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
44:30
وَلَقَدْ نَجَّيْنَا بَنِىٓ إِسْرَٰٓءِيلَ مِنَ ٱلْعَذَابِ ٱلْمُهِينِ
44:30
Certainly We delivered the Children of Israel from the humiliating torment - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
44:31
مِن فِرْعَوْنَ ۚ إِنَّهُۥ كَانَ عَالِيًا مِّنَ ٱلْمُسْرِفِينَ
44:31
of Pharaoh. Indeed, he was a tyrant among the transgressors. - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
44:32
وَلَقَدِ ٱخْتَرْنَـٰهُمْ عَلَىٰ عِلْمٍ عَلَى ٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ
44:32
Certainly We chose them knowingly above all the nations, - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
44:33
وَءَاتَيْنَـٰهُم مِّنَ ٱلْـَٔايَـٰتِ مَا فِيهِ بَلَـٰٓؤٌا۟ مُّبِينٌ
44:33
and We gave them some signs in which there was a manifest test. - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
44:34
إِنَّ هَـٰٓؤُلَآءِ لَيَقُولُونَ
44:34
These ones say, - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
44:35
إِنْ هِىَ إِلَّا مَوْتَتُنَا ٱلْأُولَىٰ وَمَا نَحْنُ بِمُنشَرِينَ
44:35
‘It will be only our first death, and we shall not be resurrected. - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
44:36
فَأْتُوا۟ بِـَٔابَآئِنَآ إِن كُنتُمْ صَـٰدِقِينَ
44:36
Bring our fathers back [to life], if you are truthful.’ - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
44:37
أَهُمْ خَيْرٌ أَمْ قَوْمُ تُبَّعٍ وَٱلَّذِينَ مِن قَبْلِهِمْ ۚ أَهْلَكْنَـٰهُمْ ۖ إِنَّهُمْ كَانُوا۟ مُجْرِمِينَ
44:37
Are they better, or the people of Tubba‘, and those who were before them? We destroyed them; indeed, they were guilty. - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
44:38
وَمَا خَلَقْنَا ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضَ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَا لَـٰعِبِينَ
44:38
We did not create the heavens and the earth and whatever is between them for play. - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
44:39
مَا خَلَقْنَـٰهُمَآ إِلَّا بِٱلْحَقِّ وَلَـٰكِنَّ أَكْثَرَهُمْ لَا يَعْلَمُونَ
44:39
We did not create them except with consummate wisdom; but most of them do not know. - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
44:40
إِنَّ يَوْمَ ٱلْفَصْلِ مِيقَـٰتُهُمْ أَجْمَعِينَ
44:40
Indeed the Day of Judgement is the tryst for them all, - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
44:41
يَوْمَ لَا يُغْنِى مَوْلًى عَن مَّوْلًى شَيْـًٔا وَلَا هُمْ يُنصَرُونَ
44:41
the day when a friend will not avail a friend in any way, nor will they be helped, - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
44:42
إِلَّا مَن رَّحِمَ ٱللَّهُ ۚ إِنَّهُۥ هُوَ ٱلْعَزِيزُ ٱلرَّحِيمُ
44:42
except for him on whom Allah has mercy. Indeed He is the All-mighty, the All-merciful. - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
44:43
إِنَّ شَجَرَتَ ٱلزَّقُّومِ
44:43
Indeed the tree of Zaqqum - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
44:44
طَعَامُ ٱلْأَثِيمِ
44:44
will be the food of the sinful. - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
44:45
كَٱلْمُهْلِ يَغْلِى فِى ٱلْبُطُونِ
44:45
Like molten copper it will boil in their bellies, - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
44:46
كَغَلْىِ ٱلْحَمِيمِ
44:46
seething like boiling water. - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
44:47
خُذُوهُ فَٱعْتِلُوهُ إِلَىٰ سَوَآءِ ٱلْجَحِيمِ
44:47
[The keepers of hell will be told,] ‘Seize him and drag him to the middle of hell, - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
44:48
ثُمَّ صُبُّوا۟ فَوْقَ رَأْسِهِۦ مِنْ عَذَابِ ٱلْحَمِيمِ
44:48
then pour over his head boiling water as punishment, - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
44:49
ذُقْ إِنَّكَ أَنتَ ٱلْعَزِيزُ ٱلْكَرِيمُ
44:49
[and tell them,] “Taste this! Indeed you are the [self-styled] mighty and noble! - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
44:50
إِنَّ هَـٰذَا مَا كُنتُم بِهِۦ تَمْتَرُونَ
44:50
This is what you used to doubt!’ - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
44:51
إِنَّ ٱلْمُتَّقِينَ فِى مَقَامٍ أَمِينٍ
44:51
Indeed the Godwary will be in a safe place, - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
44:52
فِى جَنَّـٰتٍ وَعُيُونٍ
44:52
amid gardens and springs, - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
44:53
يَلْبَسُونَ مِن سُندُسٍ وَإِسْتَبْرَقٍ مُّتَقَـٰبِلِينَ
44:53
dressed in fine silk and brocade, sitting face to face. - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
44:54
كَذَٰلِكَ وَزَوَّجْنَـٰهُم بِحُورٍ عِينٍ
44:54
So shall it be, and We shall wed them to black-eyed houris. - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
44:55
يَدْعُونَ فِيهَا بِكُلِّ فَـٰكِهَةٍ ءَامِنِينَ
44:55
Secure [from any kind of harm,] there they will call for every kind of fruit [they wish]. - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
44:56
لَا يَذُوقُونَ فِيهَا ٱلْمَوْتَ إِلَّا ٱلْمَوْتَةَ ٱلْأُولَىٰ ۖ وَوَقَىٰهُمْ عَذَابَ ٱلْجَحِيمِ
44:56
Other than the first death, they will not taste death therein, and He will save them from the punishment of hell - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
44:57
فَضْلًا مِّن رَّبِّكَ ۚ ذَٰلِكَ هُوَ ٱلْفَوْزُ ٱلْعَظِيمُ
44:57
—a grace from your Lord. That is the great success. - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
44:58
فَإِنَّمَا يَسَّرْنَـٰهُ بِلِسَانِكَ لَعَلَّهُمْ يَتَذَكَّرُونَ
44:58
Indeed We have made it simple in your language, so that they may take admonition. - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
44:59
فَٱرْتَقِبْ إِنَّهُم مُّرْتَقِبُونَ
44:59
So wait! They [too] are waiting. - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
