بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful.
44:1
حمٓ
44:1
HaMeem - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
44:2
وَٱلْكِتَـٰبِ ٱلْمُبِينِ
44:2
By the Clear Book - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
44:3
إِنَّآ أَنزَلْنَـٰهُ فِى لَيْلَةٍ مُّبَـٰرَكَةٍ ۚ إِنَّا كُنَّا مُنذِرِينَ
44:3
that We sent down during a Blessed Night. We are ever warning. - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
44:4
فِيهَا يُفْرَقُ كُلُّ أَمْرٍ حَكِيمٍ
44:4
In it every wise matter is determined - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
44:5
أَمْرًا مِّنْ عِندِنَآ ۚ إِنَّا كُنَّا مُرْسِلِينَ
44:5
an order from Us. We are ever sending. - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
44:6
رَحْمَةً مِّن رَّبِّكَ ۚ إِنَّهُۥ هُوَ ٱلسَّمِيعُ ٱلْعَلِيمُ
44:6
A Mercy from your Lord, He is the Hearer, the Knower. - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
44:7
رَبِّ ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَآ ۖ إِن كُنتُم مُّوقِنِينَ
44:7
Lord of the heavens and the earth and all that is between them, if you are certain (of your faith). - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
44:8
لَآ إِلَـٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَ يُحْىِۦ وَيُمِيتُ ۖ رَبُّكُمْ وَرَبُّ ءَابَآئِكُمُ ٱلْأَوَّلِينَ
44:8
There is no god except He. He revives and causes to die. (He is) your Lord and the Lord of your fathers, the ancients. - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
44:9
بَلْ هُمْ فِى شَكٍّ يَلْعَبُونَ
44:9
Yet they are in doubt, playing. - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
44:10
فَٱرْتَقِبْ يَوْمَ تَأْتِى ٱلسَّمَآءُ بِدُخَانٍ مُّبِينٍ
44:10
Watch for the Day when the heaven will bring clear smoke, - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
44:11
يَغْشَى ٱلنَّاسَ ۖ هَـٰذَا عَذَابٌ أَلِيمٌ
44:11
engulfing the people; this will be a painful punishment. - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
44:12
رَّبَّنَا ٱكْشِفْ عَنَّا ٱلْعَذَابَ إِنَّا مُؤْمِنُونَ
44:12
'Our Lord, remove this punishment from us, we are believers' - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
44:13
أَنَّىٰ لَهُمُ ٱلذِّكْرَىٰ وَقَدْ جَآءَهُمْ رَسُولٌ مُّبِينٌ
44:13
But how will they avail themselves of the Reminder, when a clear Messenger had already come to them - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
44:14
ثُمَّ تَوَلَّوْا۟ عَنْهُ وَقَالُوا۟ مُعَلَّمٌ مَّجْنُونٌ
44:14
but then they turned away from him, saying: 'He is tutored, mad' - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
44:15
إِنَّا كَاشِفُوا۟ ٱلْعَذَابِ قَلِيلًا ۚ إِنَّكُمْ عَآئِدُونَ
44:15
We are removing the punishment a little, but you revert. - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
44:16
يَوْمَ نَبْطِشُ ٱلْبَطْشَةَ ٱلْكُبْرَىٰٓ إِنَّا مُنتَقِمُونَ
44:16
But on that Day We will assault them most mightily, and then We shall revenge! - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
44:17
۞ وَلَقَدْ فَتَنَّا قَبْلَهُمْ قَوْمَ فِرْعَوْنَ وَجَآءَهُمْ رَسُولٌ كَرِيمٌ
44:17
We tried Pharaoh's nation before them. A noble Messenger came to them, - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
44:18
أَنْ أَدُّوٓا۟ إِلَىَّ عِبَادَ ٱللَّهِ ۖ إِنِّى لَكُمْ رَسُولٌ أَمِينٌ
44:18
(saying:) 'Be obedient to me O worshipers of Allah. I am your honest Messenger. - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
44:19
وَأَن لَّا تَعْلُوا۟ عَلَى ٱللَّهِ ۖ إِنِّىٓ ءَاتِيكُم بِسُلْطَـٰنٍ مُّبِينٍ
44:19
Do not rise up against Allah, I come to you with clear authority. - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
44:20
وَإِنِّى عُذْتُ بِرَبِّى وَرَبِّكُمْ أَن تَرْجُمُونِ
44:20
I take refuge with my Lord and your Lord lest you stone me. - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
44:21
وَإِن لَّمْ تُؤْمِنُوا۟ لِى فَٱعْتَزِلُونِ
44:21
And if you do not believe me, then leave me' - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
44:22
فَدَعَا رَبَّهُۥٓ أَنَّ هَـٰٓؤُلَآءِ قَوْمٌ مُّجْرِمُونَ
44:22
Then he supplicated to his Lord saying: 'These are sinful people' - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
44:23
فَأَسْرِ بِعِبَادِى لَيْلًا إِنَّكُم مُّتَّبَعُونَ
44:23
(His Lord answered): 'Set out with My worshipers in the night, for you will surely be followed. - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
44:24
وَٱتْرُكِ ٱلْبَحْرَ رَهْوًا ۖ إِنَّهُمْ جُندٌ مُّغْرَقُونَ
44:24
Then leave the sea calm they are an army that will be drowned. - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
44:25
كَمْ تَرَكُوا۟ مِن جَنَّـٰتٍ وَعُيُونٍ
44:25
How many gardens and fountains did they leave behind, - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
44:26
وَزُرُوعٍ وَمَقَامٍ كَرِيمٍ
44:26
and sown fields, fine sitting places, - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
44:27
وَنَعْمَةٍ كَانُوا۟ فِيهَا فَـٰكِهِينَ
44:27
and good things in which they took delight. - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
44:28
كَذَٰلِكَ ۖ وَأَوْرَثْنَـٰهَا قَوْمًا ءَاخَرِينَ
44:28
As such (it was). And We made other people inherit them. - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
44:29
فَمَا بَكَتْ عَلَيْهِمُ ٱلسَّمَآءُ وَٱلْأَرْضُ وَمَا كَانُوا۟ مُنظَرِينَ
44:29
Neither heaven nor earth shed tears for them; nor were they respited, - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
44:30
وَلَقَدْ نَجَّيْنَا بَنِىٓ إِسْرَٰٓءِيلَ مِنَ ٱلْعَذَابِ ٱلْمُهِينِ
44:30
and We saved the Children of Israel from a humiliating punishment - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
44:31
مِن فِرْعَوْنَ ۚ إِنَّهُۥ كَانَ عَالِيًا مِّنَ ٱلْمُسْرِفِينَ
44:31
from Pharaoh, who ranked high in sin, - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
44:32
وَلَقَدِ ٱخْتَرْنَـٰهُمْ عَلَىٰ عِلْمٍ عَلَى ٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ
44:32
and We chose them, out of a knowledge above the nations (of their time). - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
44:33
وَءَاتَيْنَـٰهُم مِّنَ ٱلْـَٔايَـٰتِ مَا فِيهِ بَلَـٰٓؤٌا۟ مُّبِينٌ
44:33
And gave signs to them in which there was a clear trial. - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
44:34
إِنَّ هَـٰٓؤُلَآءِ لَيَقُولُونَ
44:34
Yet these say: - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
44:35
إِنْ هِىَ إِلَّا مَوْتَتُنَا ٱلْأُولَىٰ وَمَا نَحْنُ بِمُنشَرِينَ
44:35
'There is nothing except the first death, we shall never be revived. - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
44:36
فَأْتُوا۟ بِـَٔابَآئِنَآ إِن كُنتُمْ صَـٰدِقِينَ
44:36
Bring us our fathers, if what you say is true' - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
44:37
أَهُمْ خَيْرٌ أَمْ قَوْمُ تُبَّعٍ وَٱلَّذِينَ مِن قَبْلِهِمْ ۚ أَهْلَكْنَـٰهُمْ ۖ إِنَّهُمْ كَانُوا۟ مُجْرِمِينَ
44:37
Are they better or the people of Tubba' and those who were before them whom We destroyed? Indeed they were sinners. - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
44:38
وَمَا خَلَقْنَا ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضَ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَا لَـٰعِبِينَ
44:38
It was not in play that We created the heavens and the earth and all that is between them. - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
44:39
مَا خَلَقْنَـٰهُمَآ إِلَّا بِٱلْحَقِّ وَلَـٰكِنَّ أَكْثَرَهُمْ لَا يَعْلَمُونَ
44:39
We created them in nothing else except the truth. But most do not know. - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
44:40
إِنَّ يَوْمَ ٱلْفَصْلِ مِيقَـٰتُهُمْ أَجْمَعِينَ
44:40
The Day of Decision is the appointed time for all. - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
44:41
يَوْمَ لَا يُغْنِى مَوْلًى عَن مَّوْلًى شَيْـًٔا وَلَا هُمْ يُنصَرُونَ
44:41
On that Day no cousin shall help his cousin and they shall not be helped - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
44:42
إِلَّا مَن رَّحِمَ ٱللَّهُ ۚ إِنَّهُۥ هُوَ ٱلْعَزِيزُ ٱلرَّحِيمُ
44:42
except those on whom Allah will have mercy. He is the Almighty, the Most Merciful. - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
44:43
إِنَّ شَجَرَتَ ٱلزَّقُّومِ
44:43
The food of the Zakkum tree - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
44:44
طَعَامُ ٱلْأَثِيمِ
44:44
shall be the food of the guilty sinners. - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
44:45
كَٱلْمُهْلِ يَغْلِى فِى ٱلْبُطُونِ
44:45
Like molten copper boiling in the belly - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
44:46
كَغَلْىِ ٱلْحَمِيمِ
44:46
as the boiling of the hot water. - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
44:47
خُذُوهُ فَٱعْتِلُوهُ إِلَىٰ سَوَآءِ ٱلْجَحِيمِ
44:47
'Seize him and drag him into the center of Hell. - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
44:48
ثُمَّ صُبُّوا۟ فَوْقَ رَأْسِهِۦ مِنْ عَذَابِ ٱلْحَمِيمِ
44:48
Then pour the punishment of boiling water over his head, - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
44:49
ذُقْ إِنَّكَ أَنتَ ٱلْعَزِيزُ ٱلْكَرِيمُ
44:49
(Saying): 'Taste, surely you are the mighty and noble! - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
44:50
إِنَّ هَـٰذَا مَا كُنتُم بِهِۦ تَمْتَرُونَ
44:50
This is that which you doubted' - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
44:51
إِنَّ ٱلْمُتَّقِينَ فِى مَقَامٍ أَمِينٍ
44:51
Indeed, for those who feared (Allah) is a secure place - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
44:52
فِى جَنَّـٰتٍ وَعُيُونٍ
44:52
amidst gardens and fountains, - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
44:53
يَلْبَسُونَ مِن سُندُسٍ وَإِسْتَبْرَقٍ مُّتَقَـٰبِلِينَ
44:53
dressed in silks and brocade, set face to face. - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
44:54
كَذَٰلِكَ وَزَوَّجْنَـٰهُم بِحُورٍ عِينٍ
44:54
As such, We shall wed them to wideeyed houris (the virgins of Paradise). - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
44:55
يَدْعُونَ فِيهَا بِكُلِّ فَـٰكِهَةٍ ءَامِنِينَ
44:55
There in security, they will call for every kind of fruit. - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
44:56
لَا يَذُوقُونَ فِيهَا ٱلْمَوْتَ إِلَّا ٱلْمَوْتَةَ ٱلْأُولَىٰ ۖ وَوَقَىٰهُمْ عَذَابَ ٱلْجَحِيمِ
44:56
There they shall not taste death, except the first death, and He will shield them from the punishment of Hell, - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
44:57
فَضْلًا مِّن رَّبِّكَ ۚ ذَٰلِكَ هُوَ ٱلْفَوْزُ ٱلْعَظِيمُ
44:57
as a bounty from your Lord. That will be the mighty triumph. - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
44:58
فَإِنَّمَا يَسَّرْنَـٰهُ بِلِسَانِكَ لَعَلَّهُمْ يَتَذَكَّرُونَ
44:58
We have now made it easy on your tongue, in order that they remember. - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
44:59
فَٱرْتَقِبْ إِنَّهُم مُّرْتَقِبُونَ
44:59
So be watchful, they too are watching. - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
