Transliteration
Wahiduddin Khan
                    بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ
                
                
                    In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful.
                
            
                    75:1
                    لَآ أُقْسِمُ بِيَوْمِ ٱلْقِيَـٰمَةِ
                
                
                
                
                
                    75:1
                    By the Day of Resurrection,  - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
                
                
                
                
                
                    75:2
                    وَلَآ أُقْسِمُ بِٱلنَّفْسِ ٱللَّوَّامَةِ
                
                
                
                
                
                    75:2
                    and by the self-reproaching soul!  - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
                
                
                
                
                
                    75:3
                    أَيَحْسَبُ ٱلْإِنسَـٰنُ أَلَّن نَّجْمَعَ عِظَامَهُۥ
                
                
                
                
                
                    75:3
                    Does man think that We cannot [resurrect him and] bring his bones together again?  - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
                
                
                
                
                
                    75:4
                    بَلَىٰ قَـٰدِرِينَ عَلَىٰٓ أَن نُّسَوِّىَ بَنَانَهُۥ
                
                
                
                
                
                    75:4
                    Indeed, We have the power to restore his very finger tips!  - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
                
                
                
                
                
                    75:5
                    بَلْ يُرِيدُ ٱلْإِنسَـٰنُ لِيَفْجُرَ أَمَامَهُۥ
                
                
                
                
                
                    75:5
                    Yet man wants to deny what is ahead of him:  - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
                
                
                
                
                
                    75:6
                    يَسْـَٔلُ أَيَّانَ يَوْمُ ٱلْقِيَـٰمَةِ
                
                
                
                
                
                    75:6
                    he asks, "When is this Day of Resurrection to be?"  - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
                
                
                
                
                
                    75:7
                    فَإِذَا بَرِقَ ٱلْبَصَرُ
                
                
                
                
                
                    75:7
                    But [on that Day], when mortal sight is confounded,  - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
                
                
                
                
                
                    75:8
                    وَخَسَفَ ٱلْقَمَرُ
                
                
                
                
                
                    75:8
                    and the moon is eclipsed,  - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
                
                
                
                
                
                    75:9
                    وَجُمِعَ ٱلشَّمْسُ وَٱلْقَمَرُ
                
                
                
                
                
                    75:9
                    when the sun and the moon are brought together,  - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
                
                
                
                
                
                    75:10
                    يَقُولُ ٱلْإِنسَـٰنُ يَوْمَئِذٍ أَيْنَ ٱلْمَفَرُّ
                
                
                
                
                
                    75:10
                    on that Day man will ask, "Where can I escape?"  - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
                
                
                
                
                
                    75:11
                    كَلَّا لَا وَزَرَ
                
                
                
                
                
                    75:11
                    But there is nowhere to take refuge:  - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
                
                
                
                
                
                    75:12
                    إِلَىٰ رَبِّكَ يَوْمَئِذٍ ٱلْمُسْتَقَرُّ
                
                
                
                
                
                    75:12
                    on that Day, to your Lord alone is the recourse.  - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
                
                
                
                
                
                    75:13
                    يُنَبَّؤُا۟ ٱلْإِنسَـٰنُ يَوْمَئِذٍۭ بِمَا قَدَّمَ وَأَخَّرَ
                
                
                
                
                
                    75:13
                    On that Day, man will be told of all that he has sent before and what he has left behind.  - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
                
                
                
                
                
                    75:14
                    بَلِ ٱلْإِنسَـٰنُ عَلَىٰ نَفْسِهِۦ بَصِيرَةٌ
                
                
                
                
                
                    75:14
                    Indeed, man shall be a witness against himself,  - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
                
                
                
                
                
                    75:15
                    وَلَوْ أَلْقَىٰ مَعَاذِيرَهُۥ
                
                
                
                
                
                    75:15
                    in spite of all the excuses he may offer.  - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
                
                
                
                
                
                    75:16
                    لَا تُحَرِّكْ بِهِۦ لِسَانَكَ لِتَعْجَلَ بِهِۦٓ
                
                
                
                
                
                    75:16
                    [Prophet], do not move your tongue too fast in your attempt to learn this revelation:  - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
                
                
                
                
                
                    75:17
                    إِنَّ عَلَيْنَا جَمْعَهُۥ وَقُرْءَانَهُۥ
                
                
                
                
                
                    75:17
                    We Ourself shall see to its collection and recital.  - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
                
                
                
                
                
                    75:18
                    فَإِذَا قَرَأْنَـٰهُ فَٱتَّبِعْ قُرْءَانَهُۥ
                
                
                
                
                
                    75:18
                    When We have recited it, follow its words attentively;  - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
                
                
                
                
                
                    75:19
                    ثُمَّ إِنَّ عَلَيْنَا بَيَانَهُۥ
                
                
                
                
                
                    75:19
                    and then, it will be for Us to make its meaning clear.  - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
                
                
                
                
                
                    75:20
                    كَلَّا بَلْ تُحِبُّونَ ٱلْعَاجِلَةَ
                
                
                
                
                
                    75:20
                    Truly, you love immediate gain  - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
                
                
                
                
                
                    75:21
                    وَتَذَرُونَ ٱلْـَٔاخِرَةَ
                
                
                
                
                
                    75:21
                    and neglect the Hereafter.  - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
                
                
                
                
                
                    75:22
                    وُجُوهٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ نَّاضِرَةٌ
                
                
                
                
                
                    75:22
                    Some faces will be radiant on that Day,  - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
                
                
                
                
                
                    75:23
                    إِلَىٰ رَبِّهَا نَاظِرَةٌ
                
                
                
                
                
                    75:23
                    looking towards their Lord;  - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
                
                
                
                
                
                    75:24
                    وَوُجُوهٌ يَوْمَئِذٍۭ بَاسِرَةٌ
                
                
                
                
                
                    75:24
                    and some faces will on that Day be gloomy,  - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
                
                
                
                
                
                    75:25
                    تَظُنُّ أَن يُفْعَلَ بِهَا فَاقِرَةٌ
                
                
                
                
                
                    75:25
                    dreading some great affliction.  - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
                
                
                
                
                
                    75:26
                    كَلَّآ إِذَا بَلَغَتِ ٱلتَّرَاقِىَ
                
                
                
                
                
                    75:26
                    But when [man's soul] reaches the throat,  - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
                
                
                
                
                
                    75:27
                    وَقِيلَ مَنْ ۜ رَاقٍ
                
                
                
                
                
                    75:27
                    and when it is asked: "Could any magician save him now?";  - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
                
                
                
                
                
                    75:28
                    وَظَنَّ أَنَّهُ ٱلْفِرَاقُ
                
                
                
                
                
                    75:28
                    and he knows that it is the time of parting;  - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
                
                
                
                
                
                    75:29
                    وَٱلْتَفَّتِ ٱلسَّاقُ بِٱلسَّاقِ
                
                
                
                
                
                    75:29
                    when his legs are brought together [when affliction is combined with affliction];  - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
                
                
                
                
                
                    75:30
                    إِلَىٰ رَبِّكَ يَوْمَئِذٍ ٱلْمَسَاقُ
                
                
                
                
                
                    75:30
                    on that Day he will be driven towards your Lord!  - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
                
                
                
                
                
                    75:31
                    فَلَا صَدَّقَ وَلَا صَلَّىٰ
                
                
                
                
                
                    75:31
                    He neither believed nor prayed,  - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
                
                
                
                
                
                    75:32
                    وَلَـٰكِن كَذَّبَ وَتَوَلَّىٰ
                
                
                
                
                
                    75:32
                    but rejected the Truth and turned away!  - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
                
                
                
                
                
                    75:33
                    ثُمَّ ذَهَبَ إِلَىٰٓ أَهْلِهِۦ يَتَمَطَّىٰٓ
                
                
                
                
                
                    75:33
                    Then he went off to his people, swaggering.  - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
                
                
                
                
                
                    75:34
                    أَوْلَىٰ لَكَ فَأَوْلَىٰ
                
                
                
                
                
                    75:34
                    Woe to you, [O man!], yes, woe to you.  - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
                
                
                
                
                
                    75:35
                    ثُمَّ أَوْلَىٰ لَكَ فَأَوْلَىٰٓ
                
                
                
                
                
                    75:35
                    Again, woe to you, [O man!], yes, woe to you!  - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
                
                
                
                
                
                    75:36
                    أَيَحْسَبُ ٱلْإِنسَـٰنُ أَن يُتْرَكَ سُدًى
                
                
                
                
                
                    75:36
                    Does man, then, think that he is to be left to himself, to go about at will?  - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
                
                
                
                
                
                    75:37
                    أَلَمْ يَكُ نُطْفَةً مِّن مَّنِىٍّ يُمْنَىٰ
                
                
                
                
                
                    75:37
                    Was he not once a drop of ejaculated semen,  - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
                
                
                
                
                
                    75:38
                    ثُمَّ كَانَ عَلَقَةً فَخَلَقَ فَسَوَّىٰ
                
                
                
                
                
                    75:38
                    which then became a leech-like clot; then God shaped and fashioned him in due proportion,  - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
                
                
                
                
                
                    75:39
                    فَجَعَلَ مِنْهُ ٱلزَّوْجَيْنِ ٱلذَّكَرَ وَٱلْأُنثَىٰٓ
                
                
                
                
                
                    75:39
                    fashioning out of him the two sexes, the male and the female?  - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
                
                
                
                
                
                    75:40
                    أَلَيْسَ ذَٰلِكَ بِقَـٰدِرٍ عَلَىٰٓ أَن يُحْـِۧىَ ٱلْمَوْتَىٰ
                
                
                
                
                
                    75:40
                    Then is He not able to bring the dead back to life?  - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
