< Previous   40 Āyah   The Resurrection      Next >

In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful.

75:1
Wahiduddin Khan (English) :
By the Day of Resurrection,

75:2
Wahiduddin Khan (English) :
and by the self-reproaching soul!

75:3
Wahiduddin Khan (English) :
Does man think that We cannot [resurrect him and] bring his bones together again?

75:4
Wahiduddin Khan (English) :
Indeed, We have the power to restore his very finger tips!

75:5
Wahiduddin Khan (English) :
Yet man wants to deny what is ahead of him:

75:6
Wahiduddin Khan (English) :
he asks, "When is this Day of Resurrection to be?"

75:7
Wahiduddin Khan (English) :
But [on that Day], when mortal sight is confounded,

75:8
Wahiduddin Khan (English) :
and the moon is eclipsed,

75:9
Wahiduddin Khan (English) :
when the sun and the moon are brought together,

75:10
Wahiduddin Khan (English) :
on that Day man will ask, "Where can I escape?"

75:11
Wahiduddin Khan (English) :
But there is nowhere to take refuge:

75:12
Wahiduddin Khan (English) :
on that Day, to your Lord alone is the recourse.

75:13
Wahiduddin Khan (English) :
On that Day, man will be told of all that he has sent before and what he has left behind.

75:14
Wahiduddin Khan (English) :
Indeed, man shall be a witness against himself,

75:15
Wahiduddin Khan (English) :
in spite of all the excuses he may offer.

75:16
Wahiduddin Khan (English) :
[Prophet], do not move your tongue too fast in your attempt to learn this revelation:

75:17
Wahiduddin Khan (English) :
We Ourself shall see to its collection and recital.

75:18
Wahiduddin Khan (English) :
When We have recited it, follow its words attentively;

75:19
Wahiduddin Khan (English) :
and then, it will be for Us to make its meaning clear.

75:20
Wahiduddin Khan (English) :
Truly, you love immediate gain

75:21
Wahiduddin Khan (English) :
and neglect the Hereafter.

75:22
Wahiduddin Khan (English) :
Some faces will be radiant on that Day,

75:23
Wahiduddin Khan (English) :
looking towards their Lord;

75:24
Wahiduddin Khan (English) :
and some faces will on that Day be gloomy,

75:25
Wahiduddin Khan (English) :
dreading some great affliction.

75:26
Wahiduddin Khan (English) :
But when [man's soul] reaches the throat,

75:27
Wahiduddin Khan (English) :
and when it is asked: "Could any magician save him now?";

75:28
Wahiduddin Khan (English) :
and he knows that it is the time of parting;

75:29
Wahiduddin Khan (English) :
when his legs are brought together [when affliction is combined with affliction];

75:30
Wahiduddin Khan (English) :
on that Day he will be driven towards your Lord!

75:31
Wahiduddin Khan (English) :
He neither believed nor prayed,

75:32
Wahiduddin Khan (English) :
but rejected the Truth and turned away!

75:33
Wahiduddin Khan (English) :
Then he went off to his people, swaggering.

75:34
Wahiduddin Khan (English) :
Woe to you, [O man!], yes, woe to you.

75:35
Wahiduddin Khan (English) :
Again, woe to you, [O man!], yes, woe to you!

75:36
Wahiduddin Khan (English) :
Does man, then, think that he is to be left to himself, to go about at will?

75:37
Wahiduddin Khan (English) :
Was he not once a drop of ejaculated semen,

75:38
Wahiduddin Khan (English) :
which then became a leech-like clot; then God shaped and fashioned him in due proportion,

75:39
Wahiduddin Khan (English) :
fashioning out of him the two sexes, the male and the female?

75:40
Wahiduddin Khan (English) :
Then is He not able to bring the dead back to life?
