79 An-Nāzi`āt ٱلنَّازِعَات

بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful.

79:1 وَٱلنَّـٰزِعَـٰتِ غَرْقًا
79:1 By the angels who violently tear-out the souls of the disbelievers from their bodies, - Muhammad Sarwar (English)

79:2 وَٱلنَّـٰشِطَـٰتِ نَشْطًا
79:2 by the angels who gently release the souls of the believers, - Muhammad Sarwar (English)

79:3 وَٱلسَّـٰبِحَـٰتِ سَبْحًا
79:3 by the angels who float (in the heavens by the will of God), - Muhammad Sarwar (English)

79:4 فَٱلسَّـٰبِقَـٰتِ سَبْقًا
79:4 by the angels who hasten along - Muhammad Sarwar (English)

79:5 فَٱلْمُدَبِّرَٰتِ أَمْرًا
79:5 and by the angels who regulate the affairs, (you will certainly be resurrected). - Muhammad Sarwar (English)

79:6 يَوْمَ تَرْجُفُ ٱلرَّاجِفَةُ
79:6 On the day when the first trumpet sound blasts - Muhammad Sarwar (English)

79:7 تَتْبَعُهَا ٱلرَّادِفَةُ
79:7 and will be followed by the second one, - Muhammad Sarwar (English)

79:8 قُلُوبٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ وَاجِفَةٌ
79:8 hearts will undergo terrible trembling, - Muhammad Sarwar (English)

79:9 أَبْصَـٰرُهَا خَـٰشِعَةٌ
79:9 and eyes will be humbly cast down. - Muhammad Sarwar (English)

79:10 يَقُولُونَ أَءِنَّا لَمَرْدُودُونَ فِى ٱلْحَافِرَةِ
79:10 (The disbelievers) say, "Shall we be brought back to life again - Muhammad Sarwar (English)

79:11 أَءِذَا كُنَّا عِظَـٰمًا نَّخِرَةً
79:11 after we have become bones and dust?" - Muhammad Sarwar (English)

79:12 قَالُوا۟ تِلْكَ إِذًا كَرَّةٌ خَاسِرَةٌ
79:12 They have said, "Such a resurrection will certainly be a great loss". - Muhammad Sarwar (English)

79:13 فَإِنَّمَا هِىَ زَجْرَةٌ وَٰحِدَةٌ
79:13 However, it will only take a single blast - Muhammad Sarwar (English)

79:14 فَإِذَا هُم بِٱلسَّاهِرَةِ
79:14 to bring them out of their graves and back to life on the earth's surface. - Muhammad Sarwar (English)

79:15 هَلْ أَتَىٰكَ حَدِيثُ مُوسَىٰٓ
79:15 (Muhammad), have you heard the story of Moses - Muhammad Sarwar (English)

79:16 إِذْ نَادَىٰهُ رَبُّهُۥ بِٱلْوَادِ ٱلْمُقَدَّسِ طُوًى
79:16 when his Lord called him in the holy valley of Tuwa, - Muhammad Sarwar (English)

79:17 ٱذْهَبْ إِلَىٰ فِرْعَوْنَ إِنَّهُۥ طَغَىٰ
79:17 saying, "Go to the Pharaoh. He has transgressed beyond all bounds. - Muhammad Sarwar (English)

79:18 فَقُلْ هَل لَّكَ إِلَىٰٓ أَن تَزَكَّىٰ
79:18 And say to him, "Would you like to reform yourself? - Muhammad Sarwar (English)

79:19 وَأَهْدِيَكَ إِلَىٰ رَبِّكَ فَتَخْشَىٰ
79:19 I shall guide you to your Lord so that you may perhaps have fear of Him". - Muhammad Sarwar (English)

79:20 فَأَرَىٰهُ ٱلْـَٔايَةَ ٱلْكُبْرَىٰ
79:20 Moses showed him the great miracle - Muhammad Sarwar (English)

79:21 فَكَذَّبَ وَعَصَىٰ
79:21 but the Pharaoh rejected it and disobeyed (Moses). - Muhammad Sarwar (English)

79:22 ثُمَّ أَدْبَرَ يَسْعَىٰ
79:22 Then he turned away in a hurry, - Muhammad Sarwar (English)

79:23 فَحَشَرَ فَنَادَىٰ
79:23 and gathered his people together - Muhammad Sarwar (English)

79:24 فَقَالَ أَنَا۠ رَبُّكُمُ ٱلْأَعْلَىٰ
79:24 saying, "I am your supreme lord". - Muhammad Sarwar (English)

79:25 فَأَخَذَهُ ٱللَّهُ نَكَالَ ٱلْـَٔاخِرَةِ وَٱلْأُولَىٰٓ
79:25 So God struck him with the torment of this life and the life hereafter. - Muhammad Sarwar (English)

79:26 إِنَّ فِى ذَٰلِكَ لَعِبْرَةً لِّمَن يَخْشَىٰٓ
79:26 In this there is a lesson for those who have fear of God. - Muhammad Sarwar (English)

79:27 ءَأَنتُمْ أَشَدُّ خَلْقًا أَمِ ٱلسَّمَآءُ ۚ بَنَىٰهَا
79:27 (People), is your creation harder for God than that of the heavens, which He created, raised and established - Muhammad Sarwar (English)

79:28 رَفَعَ سَمْكَهَا فَسَوَّىٰهَا
79:28 high above? - Muhammad Sarwar (English)

79:29 وَأَغْطَشَ لَيْلَهَا وَأَخْرَجَ ضُحَىٰهَا
79:29 He has made its nights dark and its days bright. - Muhammad Sarwar (English)

79:30 وَٱلْأَرْضَ بَعْدَ ذَٰلِكَ دَحَىٰهَآ
79:30 After this, He spread out the earth, - Muhammad Sarwar (English)

79:31 أَخْرَجَ مِنْهَا مَآءَهَا وَمَرْعَىٰهَا
79:31 produced water and grass therefrom, - Muhammad Sarwar (English)

79:32 وَٱلْجِبَالَ أَرْسَىٰهَا
79:32 then set-up firmly the mountains. - Muhammad Sarwar (English)

79:33 مَتَـٰعًا لَّكُمْ وَلِأَنْعَـٰمِكُمْ
79:33 All this was done as a means of enjoyment for you and your cattle. - Muhammad Sarwar (English)

79:34 فَإِذَا جَآءَتِ ٱلطَّآمَّةُ ٱلْكُبْرَىٰ
79:34 On the day when the great calamity comes, - Muhammad Sarwar (English)

79:35 يَوْمَ يَتَذَكَّرُ ٱلْإِنسَـٰنُ مَا سَعَىٰ
79:35 the human being will recall whatever he has done. - Muhammad Sarwar (English)

79:36 وَبُرِّزَتِ ٱلْجَحِيمُ لِمَن يَرَىٰ
79:36 Hell fire will become visible for those who would see it. - Muhammad Sarwar (English)

79:37 فَأَمَّا مَن طَغَىٰ
79:37 Those who have rebelled - Muhammad Sarwar (English)

79:38 وَءَاثَرَ ٱلْحَيَوٰةَ ٱلدُّنْيَا
79:38 and preferred the worldly life, - Muhammad Sarwar (English)

79:39 فَإِنَّ ٱلْجَحِيمَ هِىَ ٱلْمَأْوَىٰ
79:39 hell will be their dwelling. - Muhammad Sarwar (English)

79:40 وَأَمَّا مَنْ خَافَ مَقَامَ رَبِّهِۦ وَنَهَى ٱلنَّفْسَ عَنِ ٱلْهَوَىٰ
79:40 However, those who had feared their Lord and restrained their souls from acting according to its desires. - Muhammad Sarwar (English)

79:41 فَإِنَّ ٱلْجَنَّةَ هِىَ ٱلْمَأْوَىٰ
79:41 Paradise will be the dwelling. - Muhammad Sarwar (English)

79:42 يَسْـَٔلُونَكَ عَنِ ٱلسَّاعَةِ أَيَّانَ مُرْسَىٰهَا
79:42 (Muhammad), they ask you, "When will the Hour of Doom come?" - Muhammad Sarwar (English)

79:43 فِيمَ أَنتَ مِن ذِكْرَىٰهَآ
79:43 (Muhammad), you do not know (when and how) it will come. - Muhammad Sarwar (English)

79:44 إِلَىٰ رَبِّكَ مُنتَهَىٰهَآ
79:44 This matter is in the hands of your Lord. - Muhammad Sarwar (English)

79:45 إِنَّمَآ أَنتَ مُنذِرُ مَن يَخْشَىٰهَا
79:45 You are only a warner for those who fear such a day. - Muhammad Sarwar (English)

79:46 كَأَنَّهُمْ يَوْمَ يَرَوْنَهَا لَمْ يَلْبَثُوٓا۟ إِلَّا عَشِيَّةً أَوْ ضُحَىٰهَا
79:46 On the day when they see it, it will seem to them as though they had only lived in the world for a morning and an afternoon. - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
