بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful.
79:1
وَٱلنَّـٰزِعَـٰتِ غَرْقًا
79:1
By the pluckers (the angels of death), violently plucking (the souls of the unbelievers), - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
79:2
وَٱلنَّـٰشِطَـٰتِ نَشْطًا
79:2
by the drawers (the angels of death), gently drawing (the souls of the believers), - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
79:3
وَٱلسَّـٰبِحَـٰتِ سَبْحًا
79:3
by the swimmers (angels) swimming gently - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
79:4
فَٱلسَّـٰبِقَـٰتِ سَبْقًا
79:4
and the outstrippers (angels), outstripping, - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
79:5
فَٱلْمُدَبِّرَٰتِ أَمْرًا
79:5
by the managers (angels) affair. - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
79:6
يَوْمَ تَرْجُفُ ٱلرَّاجِفَةُ
79:6
On the Day, the shiverer shivers - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
79:7
تَتْبَعُهَا ٱلرَّادِفَةُ
79:7
followed by the succeeding, - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
79:8
قُلُوبٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ وَاجِفَةٌ
79:8
hearts will throb on that Day - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
79:9
أَبْصَـٰرُهَا خَـٰشِعَةٌ
79:9
and their eyes will be humbled. - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
79:10
يَقُولُونَ أَءِنَّا لَمَرْدُودُونَ فِى ٱلْحَافِرَةِ
79:10
They say: 'What, are we being restored as we were before, - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
79:11
أَءِذَا كُنَّا عِظَـٰمًا نَّخِرَةً
79:11
even after we are fragmented bones' - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
79:12
قَالُوا۟ تِلْكَ إِذًا كَرَّةٌ خَاسِرَةٌ
79:12
They will say: 'Then we are returned lost' - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
79:13
فَإِنَّمَا هِىَ زَجْرَةٌ وَٰحِدَةٌ
79:13
But it will be only a single blow, - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
79:14
فَإِذَا هُم بِٱلسَّاهِرَةِ
79:14
and they will be upon the surface of the earth (alive). - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
79:15
هَلْ أَتَىٰكَ حَدِيثُ مُوسَىٰٓ
79:15
Have you received the story of Moses? - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
79:16
إِذْ نَادَىٰهُ رَبُّهُۥ بِٱلْوَادِ ٱلْمُقَدَّسِ طُوًى
79:16
His Lord called to him in the Sacred Valley of Towa, - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
79:17
ٱذْهَبْ إِلَىٰ فِرْعَوْنَ إِنَّهُۥ طَغَىٰ
79:17
saying 'Go to Pharaoh, he has become exceedingly insolent, - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
79:18
فَقُلْ هَل لَّكَ إِلَىٰٓ أَن تَزَكَّىٰ
79:18
and say: "Will you purify yourself, - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
79:19
وَأَهْدِيَكَ إِلَىٰ رَبِّكَ فَتَخْشَىٰ
79:19
that I might guide you to your Lord, so that you fear (Him)." - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
79:20
فَأَرَىٰهُ ٱلْـَٔايَةَ ٱلْكُبْرَىٰ
79:20
He showed him the mighty sign, - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
79:21
فَكَذَّبَ وَعَصَىٰ
79:21
but he belied and disobeyed, - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
79:22
ثُمَّ أَدْبَرَ يَسْعَىٰ
79:22
and hastily turned away, - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
79:23
فَحَشَرَ فَنَادَىٰ
79:23
then, he gathered, proclaimed, then said: - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
79:24
فَقَالَ أَنَا۠ رَبُّكُمُ ٱلْأَعْلَىٰ
79:24
'I am your lord, the most high' - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
79:25
فَأَخَذَهُ ٱللَّهُ نَكَالَ ٱلْـَٔاخِرَةِ وَٱلْأُولَىٰٓ
79:25
So Allah seized him with the punishment of the Everlasting Life, and of this world. - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
79:26
إِنَّ فِى ذَٰلِكَ لَعِبْرَةً لِّمَن يَخْشَىٰٓ
79:26
Surely, in this there is a lesson for he that fears! - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
79:27
ءَأَنتُمْ أَشَدُّ خَلْقًا أَمِ ٱلسَّمَآءُ ۚ بَنَىٰهَا
79:27
What, are you harder to create than the heaven which He has built? - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
79:28
رَفَعَ سَمْكَهَا فَسَوَّىٰهَا
79:28
He raised it high and leveled it, - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
79:29
وَأَغْطَشَ لَيْلَهَا وَأَخْرَجَ ضُحَىٰهَا
79:29
and darkened its night and brought forth its morning. - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
79:30
وَٱلْأَرْضَ بَعْدَ ذَٰلِكَ دَحَىٰهَآ
79:30
And the earth He extended after that; - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
79:31
أَخْرَجَ مِنْهَا مَآءَهَا وَمَرْعَىٰهَا
79:31
and then brought from it its water and pastures. - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
79:32
وَٱلْجِبَالَ أَرْسَىٰهَا
79:32
And the mountains He set firm - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
79:33
مَتَـٰعًا لَّكُمْ وَلِأَنْعَـٰمِكُمْ
79:33
an enjoyment for you and your herds. - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
79:34
فَإِذَا جَآءَتِ ٱلطَّآمَّةُ ٱلْكُبْرَىٰ
79:34
But when the Great Catastrophe comes, - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
79:35
يَوْمَ يَتَذَكَّرُ ٱلْإِنسَـٰنُ مَا سَعَىٰ
79:35
the Day when the human will remember what he has worked for, - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
79:36
وَبُرِّزَتِ ٱلْجَحِيمُ لِمَن يَرَىٰ
79:36
and when Hell is advanced for whoever sees, - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
79:37
فَأَمَّا مَن طَغَىٰ
79:37
then as for whosoever was insolent - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
79:38
وَءَاثَرَ ٱلْحَيَوٰةَ ٱلدُّنْيَا
79:38
preferring the present life, - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
79:39
فَإِنَّ ٱلْجَحِيمَ هِىَ ٱلْمَأْوَىٰ
79:39
surely, Hell will be their refuge. - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
79:40
وَأَمَّا مَنْ خَافَ مَقَامَ رَبِّهِۦ وَنَهَى ٱلنَّفْسَ عَنِ ٱلْهَوَىٰ
79:40
But, whosoever feared the standing before his Lord and prevented the self from desires, - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
79:41
فَإِنَّ ٱلْجَنَّةَ هِىَ ٱلْمَأْوَىٰ
79:41
indeed, their refuge shall be Paradise. - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
79:42
يَسْـَٔلُونَكَ عَنِ ٱلسَّاعَةِ أَيَّانَ مُرْسَىٰهَا
79:42
They will question you about the Hour: 'When shall it be' - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
79:43
فِيمَ أَنتَ مِن ذِكْرَىٰهَآ
79:43
But how are you to know? - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
79:44
إِلَىٰ رَبِّكَ مُنتَهَىٰهَآ
79:44
Its final end is for your Lord. - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
79:45
إِنَّمَآ أَنتَ مُنذِرُ مَن يَخْشَىٰهَا
79:45
You are but a warner for those who fear it. - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
79:46
كَأَنَّهُمْ يَوْمَ يَرَوْنَهَا لَمْ يَلْبَثُوٓا۟ إِلَّا عَشِيَّةً أَوْ ضُحَىٰهَا
79:46
On the Day when they behold it, it will be as if they had lingered but an evening, or, a morning. - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
