بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful.

79:1 وَٱلنَّـٰزِعَـٰتِ غَرْقًا
79:1 I swear by the angels who violently pull out the souls of the wicked, - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)

79:2 وَٱلنَّـٰشِطَـٰتِ نَشْطًا
79:2 And by those who gently draw out the souls of the blessed, - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)

79:3 وَٱلسَّـٰبِحَـٰتِ سَبْحًا
79:3 And by those who float in space, - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)

79:4 فَٱلسَّـٰبِقَـٰتِ سَبْقًا
79:4 Then those who are foremost going ahead, - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)

79:5 فَٱلْمُدَبِّرَٰتِ أَمْرًا
79:5 Then those who regulate the affair. - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)

79:6 يَوْمَ تَرْجُفُ ٱلرَّاجِفَةُ
79:6 The day on which the quaking one shall quake, - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)

79:7 تَتْبَعُهَا ٱلرَّادِفَةُ
79:7 What must happen afterwards shall follow it. - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)

79:8 قُلُوبٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ وَاجِفَةٌ
79:8 Hearts on that day shall palpitate, - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)

79:9 أَبْصَـٰرُهَا خَـٰشِعَةٌ
79:9 Their eyes cast down. - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)

79:10 يَقُولُونَ أَءِنَّا لَمَرْدُودُونَ فِى ٱلْحَافِرَةِ
79:10 They say: Shall we indeed be restored to (our) first state? - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)

79:11 أَءِذَا كُنَّا عِظَـٰمًا نَّخِرَةً
79:11 What! when we are rotten bones? - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)

79:12 قَالُوا۟ تِلْكَ إِذًا كَرَّةٌ خَاسِرَةٌ
79:12 They said: That then would be a return occasioning loss. - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)

79:13 فَإِنَّمَا هِىَ زَجْرَةٌ وَٰحِدَةٌ
79:13 But it shall be only a single cry, - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)

79:14 فَإِذَا هُم بِٱلسَّاهِرَةِ
79:14 When lo! they shall be wakeful. - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)

79:15 هَلْ أَتَىٰكَ حَدِيثُ مُوسَىٰٓ
79:15 Has not there come to you the story of Musa? - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)

79:16 إِذْ نَادَىٰهُ رَبُّهُۥ بِٱلْوَادِ ٱلْمُقَدَّسِ طُوًى
79:16 When his Lord called upon him in the holy valley, twice, - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)

79:17 ٱذْهَبْ إِلَىٰ فِرْعَوْنَ إِنَّهُۥ طَغَىٰ
79:17 Go to Firon, surely he has become inordinate. - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)

79:18 فَقُلْ هَل لَّكَ إِلَىٰٓ أَن تَزَكَّىٰ
79:18 Then say: Have you (a desire) to purify yourself: - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)

79:19 وَأَهْدِيَكَ إِلَىٰ رَبِّكَ فَتَخْشَىٰ
79:19 And I will guide you to your Lord so that you should fear. - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)

79:20 فَأَرَىٰهُ ٱلْـَٔايَةَ ٱلْكُبْرَىٰ
79:20 So he showed him the mighty sign. - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)

79:21 فَكَذَّبَ وَعَصَىٰ
79:21 But he rejected (the truth) and disobeyed. - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)

79:22 ثُمَّ أَدْبَرَ يَسْعَىٰ
79:22 Then he went back hastily. - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)

79:23 فَحَشَرَ فَنَادَىٰ
79:23 Then he gathered (men) and called out. - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)

79:24 فَقَالَ أَنَا۠ رَبُّكُمُ ٱلْأَعْلَىٰ
79:24 Then he said: I am your lord, the most high. - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)

79:25 فَأَخَذَهُ ٱللَّهُ نَكَالَ ٱلْـَٔاخِرَةِ وَٱلْأُولَىٰٓ
79:25 So Allah seized him with the punishment of the hereafter and the former life. - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)

79:26 إِنَّ فِى ذَٰلِكَ لَعِبْرَةً لِّمَن يَخْشَىٰٓ
79:26 Most surely there is in this a lesson to him who fears. - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)

79:27 ءَأَنتُمْ أَشَدُّ خَلْقًا أَمِ ٱلسَّمَآءُ ۚ بَنَىٰهَا
79:27 Are you the harder to create or the heaven? He made it. - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)

79:28 رَفَعَ سَمْكَهَا فَسَوَّىٰهَا
79:28 He raised high its height, then put it into a right good state. - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)

79:29 وَأَغْطَشَ لَيْلَهَا وَأَخْرَجَ ضُحَىٰهَا
79:29 And He made dark its night and brought out its light. - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)

79:30 وَٱلْأَرْضَ بَعْدَ ذَٰلِكَ دَحَىٰهَآ
79:30 And the earth, He expanded it after that. - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)

79:31 أَخْرَجَ مِنْهَا مَآءَهَا وَمَرْعَىٰهَا
79:31 He brought forth from it its water and its pasturage. - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)

79:32 وَٱلْجِبَالَ أَرْسَىٰهَا
79:32 And the mountains, He made them firm, - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)

79:33 مَتَـٰعًا لَّكُمْ وَلِأَنْعَـٰمِكُمْ
79:33 A provision for you and for your cattle. - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)

79:34 فَإِذَا جَآءَتِ ٱلطَّآمَّةُ ٱلْكُبْرَىٰ
79:34 But when the great predominating calamity comes; - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)

79:35 يَوْمَ يَتَذَكَّرُ ٱلْإِنسَـٰنُ مَا سَعَىٰ
79:35 The day on which man shall recollect what he strove after, - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)

79:36 وَبُرِّزَتِ ٱلْجَحِيمُ لِمَن يَرَىٰ
79:36 And the hell shall be made manifest to him who sees - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)

79:37 فَأَمَّا مَن طَغَىٰ
79:37 Then as for him who is inordinate, - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)

79:38 وَءَاثَرَ ٱلْحَيَوٰةَ ٱلدُّنْيَا
79:38 And prefers the life of this world, - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)

79:39 فَإِنَّ ٱلْجَحِيمَ هِىَ ٱلْمَأْوَىٰ
79:39 Then surely the hell, that is the abode. - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)

79:40 وَأَمَّا مَنْ خَافَ مَقَامَ رَبِّهِۦ وَنَهَى ٱلنَّفْسَ عَنِ ٱلْهَوَىٰ
79:40 And as for him who fears to stand in the presence of his Lord and forbids the soul from low desires, - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)

79:41 فَإِنَّ ٱلْجَنَّةَ هِىَ ٱلْمَأْوَىٰ
79:41 Then surely the garden-- that is the abode. - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)

79:42 يَسْـَٔلُونَكَ عَنِ ٱلسَّاعَةِ أَيَّانَ مُرْسَىٰهَا
79:42 They ask you about the hour, when it will come. - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)

79:43 فِيمَ أَنتَ مِن ذِكْرَىٰهَآ
79:43 About what! You are one to remind of it. - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)

79:44 إِلَىٰ رَبِّكَ مُنتَهَىٰهَآ
79:44 To your Lord is the goal of it. - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)

79:45 إِنَّمَآ أَنتَ مُنذِرُ مَن يَخْشَىٰهَا
79:45 You are only a warner to him who would fear it. - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)

79:46 كَأَنَّهُمْ يَوْمَ يَرَوْنَهَا لَمْ يَلْبَثُوٓا۟ إِلَّا عَشِيَّةً أَوْ ضُحَىٰهَا
79:46 On the day that they see it, it will be as though they had not tarried but the latter part of a day or the early part of it. - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
