بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful.
79:1
وَٱلنَّـٰزِعَـٰتِ غَرْقًا
79:1
By those [angels] who extract with violence - Saheeh International (English)
79:2
وَٱلنَّـٰشِطَـٰتِ نَشْطًا
79:2
And [by] those who remove with ease - Saheeh International (English)
79:3
وَٱلسَّـٰبِحَـٰتِ سَبْحًا
79:3
And [by] those who glide [as if] swimming - Saheeh International (English)
79:4
فَٱلسَّـٰبِقَـٰتِ سَبْقًا
79:4
And those who race each other in a race - Saheeh International (English)
79:5
فَٱلْمُدَبِّرَٰتِ أَمْرًا
79:5
And those who arrange [each] matter, - Saheeh International (English)
79:6
يَوْمَ تَرْجُفُ ٱلرَّاجِفَةُ
79:6
On the Day the blast [of the Horn] will convulse [creation], - Saheeh International (English)
79:7
تَتْبَعُهَا ٱلرَّادِفَةُ
79:7
There will follow it the subsequent [one]. - Saheeh International (English)
79:8
قُلُوبٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ وَاجِفَةٌ
79:8
Hearts, that Day, will tremble, - Saheeh International (English)
79:9
أَبْصَـٰرُهَا خَـٰشِعَةٌ
79:9
Their eyes humbled. - Saheeh International (English)
79:10
يَقُولُونَ أَءِنَّا لَمَرْدُودُونَ فِى ٱلْحَافِرَةِ
79:10
They are [presently] saying, "Will we indeed be returned to [our] former state [of life]? - Saheeh International (English)
79:11
أَءِذَا كُنَّا عِظَـٰمًا نَّخِرَةً
79:11
Even if we should be decayed bones? - Saheeh International (English)
79:12
قَالُوا۟ تِلْكَ إِذًا كَرَّةٌ خَاسِرَةٌ
79:12
They say, "That, then, would be a losing return." - Saheeh International (English)
79:13
فَإِنَّمَا هِىَ زَجْرَةٌ وَٰحِدَةٌ
79:13
Indeed, it will be but one shout, - Saheeh International (English)
79:14
فَإِذَا هُم بِٱلسَّاهِرَةِ
79:14
And suddenly they will be [alert] upon the earth's surface. - Saheeh International (English)
79:15
هَلْ أَتَىٰكَ حَدِيثُ مُوسَىٰٓ
79:15
Has there reached you the story of Moses? - - Saheeh International (English)
79:16
إِذْ نَادَىٰهُ رَبُّهُۥ بِٱلْوَادِ ٱلْمُقَدَّسِ طُوًى
79:16
When his Lord called to him in the sacred valley of Tuwa, - Saheeh International (English)
79:17
ٱذْهَبْ إِلَىٰ فِرْعَوْنَ إِنَّهُۥ طَغَىٰ
79:17
"Go to Pharaoh. Indeed, he has transgressed. - Saheeh International (English)
79:18
فَقُلْ هَل لَّكَ إِلَىٰٓ أَن تَزَكَّىٰ
79:18
And say to him, 'Would you [be willing to] purify yourself - Saheeh International (English)
79:19
وَأَهْدِيَكَ إِلَىٰ رَبِّكَ فَتَخْشَىٰ
79:19
And let me guide you to your Lord so you would fear [Him]?'" - Saheeh International (English)
79:20
فَأَرَىٰهُ ٱلْـَٔايَةَ ٱلْكُبْرَىٰ
79:20
And he showed him the greatest sign, - Saheeh International (English)
79:21
فَكَذَّبَ وَعَصَىٰ
79:21
But Pharaoh denied and disobeyed. - Saheeh International (English)
79:22
ثُمَّ أَدْبَرَ يَسْعَىٰ
79:22
Then he turned his back, striving. - Saheeh International (English)
79:23
فَحَشَرَ فَنَادَىٰ
79:23
And he gathered [his people] and called out - Saheeh International (English)
79:24
فَقَالَ أَنَا۠ رَبُّكُمُ ٱلْأَعْلَىٰ
79:24
And said, "I am your most exalted lord." - Saheeh International (English)
79:25
فَأَخَذَهُ ٱللَّهُ نَكَالَ ٱلْـَٔاخِرَةِ وَٱلْأُولَىٰٓ
79:25
So Allah seized him in exemplary punishment for the last and the first [transgression]. - Saheeh International (English)
79:26
إِنَّ فِى ذَٰلِكَ لَعِبْرَةً لِّمَن يَخْشَىٰٓ
79:26
Indeed in that is a warning for whoever would fear [Allah]. - Saheeh International (English)
79:27
ءَأَنتُمْ أَشَدُّ خَلْقًا أَمِ ٱلسَّمَآءُ ۚ بَنَىٰهَا
79:27
Are you a more difficult creation or is the heaven? Allah constructed it. - Saheeh International (English)
79:28
رَفَعَ سَمْكَهَا فَسَوَّىٰهَا
79:28
He raised its ceiling and proportioned it. - Saheeh International (English)
79:29
وَأَغْطَشَ لَيْلَهَا وَأَخْرَجَ ضُحَىٰهَا
79:29
And He darkened its night and extracted its brightness. - Saheeh International (English)
79:30
وَٱلْأَرْضَ بَعْدَ ذَٰلِكَ دَحَىٰهَآ
79:30
And after that He spread the earth. - Saheeh International (English)
79:31
أَخْرَجَ مِنْهَا مَآءَهَا وَمَرْعَىٰهَا
79:31
He extracted from it its water and its pasture, - Saheeh International (English)
79:32
وَٱلْجِبَالَ أَرْسَىٰهَا
79:32
And the mountains He set firmly - Saheeh International (English)
79:33
مَتَـٰعًا لَّكُمْ وَلِأَنْعَـٰمِكُمْ
79:33
As provision for you and your grazing livestock. - Saheeh International (English)
79:34
فَإِذَا جَآءَتِ ٱلطَّآمَّةُ ٱلْكُبْرَىٰ
79:34
But when there comes the greatest Overwhelming Calamity - - Saheeh International (English)
79:35
يَوْمَ يَتَذَكَّرُ ٱلْإِنسَـٰنُ مَا سَعَىٰ
79:35
The Day when man will remember that for which he strove, - Saheeh International (English)
79:36
وَبُرِّزَتِ ٱلْجَحِيمُ لِمَن يَرَىٰ
79:36
And Hellfire will be exposed for [all] those who see - - Saheeh International (English)
79:37
فَأَمَّا مَن طَغَىٰ
79:37
So as for he who transgressed - Saheeh International (English)
79:38
وَءَاثَرَ ٱلْحَيَوٰةَ ٱلدُّنْيَا
79:38
And preferred the life of the world, - Saheeh International (English)
79:39
فَإِنَّ ٱلْجَحِيمَ هِىَ ٱلْمَأْوَىٰ
79:39
Then indeed, Hellfire will be [his] refuge. - Saheeh International (English)
79:40
وَأَمَّا مَنْ خَافَ مَقَامَ رَبِّهِۦ وَنَهَى ٱلنَّفْسَ عَنِ ٱلْهَوَىٰ
79:40
But as for he who feared the position of his Lord and prevented the soul from [unlawful] inclination, - Saheeh International (English)
79:41
فَإِنَّ ٱلْجَنَّةَ هِىَ ٱلْمَأْوَىٰ
79:41
Then indeed, Paradise will be [his] refuge. - Saheeh International (English)
79:42
يَسْـَٔلُونَكَ عَنِ ٱلسَّاعَةِ أَيَّانَ مُرْسَىٰهَا
79:42
They ask you, [O Muhammad], about the Hour: when is its arrival? - Saheeh International (English)
79:43
فِيمَ أَنتَ مِن ذِكْرَىٰهَآ
79:43
In what [position] are you that you should mention it? - Saheeh International (English)
79:44
إِلَىٰ رَبِّكَ مُنتَهَىٰهَآ
79:44
To your Lord is its finality. - Saheeh International (English)
79:45
إِنَّمَآ أَنتَ مُنذِرُ مَن يَخْشَىٰهَا
79:45
You are only a warner for those who fear it. - Saheeh International (English)
79:46
كَأَنَّهُمْ يَوْمَ يَرَوْنَهَا لَمْ يَلْبَثُوٓا۟ إِلَّا عَشِيَّةً أَوْ ضُحَىٰهَا
79:46
It will be, on the Day they see it, as though they had not remained [in the world] except for an afternoon or a morning thereof. - Saheeh International (English)
