Transliteration
Wahiduddin Khan
بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful.
37:1
وَٱلصَّـٰٓفَّـٰتِ صَفًّا
37:1
I swear by (the angels) who stand in ranks, - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
37:2
فَٱلزَّٰجِرَٰتِ زَجْرًا
37:2
by those who drive away the devil (to protect Our revelation), - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
37:3
فَٱلتَّـٰلِيَـٰتِ ذِكْرًا
37:3
and those who recite Our revelations, - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
37:4
إِنَّ إِلَـٰهَكُمْ لَوَٰحِدٌ
37:4
that your Lord is the only Lord. - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
37:5
رَّبُّ ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَا وَرَبُّ ٱلْمَشَـٰرِقِ
37:5
He is the Lord of the heavens and the earth and all that is between them, the Lord of the Eastern regions. - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
37:6
إِنَّا زَيَّنَّا ٱلسَّمَآءَ ٱلدُّنْيَا بِزِينَةٍ ٱلْكَوَاكِبِ
37:6
We have decked the lower heavens with stars - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
37:7
وَحِفْظًا مِّن كُلِّ شَيْطَـٰنٍ مَّارِدٍ
37:7
to protect them from the rebellious satan. - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
37:8
لَّا يَسَّمَّعُونَ إِلَى ٱلْمَلَإِ ٱلْأَعْلَىٰ وَيُقْذَفُونَ مِن كُلِّ جَانِبٍ
37:8
The devils cannot hear those high above. They would be struck from all sides - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
37:9
دُحُورًا ۖ وَلَهُمْ عَذَابٌ وَاصِبٌ
37:9
and driven away to suffer the necessary torment. - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
37:10
إِلَّا مَنْ خَطِفَ ٱلْخَطْفَةَ فَأَتْبَعَهُۥ شِهَابٌ ثَاقِبٌ
37:10
Some of them who stealthily steal words from the heavens are pursued by a glistening flame. - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
37:11
فَٱسْتَفْتِهِمْ أَهُمْ أَشَدُّ خَلْقًا أَم مَّنْ خَلَقْنَآ ۚ إِنَّا خَلَقْنَـٰهُم مِّن طِينٍ لَّازِبٍۭ
37:11
(Muhammad), ask them, "Have they (people) been created stronger than what We have created?" We have created them from moist clay. - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
37:12
بَلْ عَجِبْتَ وَيَسْخَرُونَ
37:12
(Muhammad), you will be surprised that they still mock (God's revelations). - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
37:13
وَإِذَا ذُكِّرُوا۟ لَا يَذْكُرُونَ
37:13
They pay no attention when they are reminded - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
37:14
وَإِذَا رَأَوْا۟ ءَايَةً يَسْتَسْخِرُونَ
37:14
and when they see a miracle, they mock - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
37:15
وَقَالُوٓا۟ إِنْ هَـٰذَآ إِلَّا سِحْرٌ مُّبِينٌ
37:15
it and say, "It is only plain magic". - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
37:16
أَءِذَا مِتْنَا وَكُنَّا تُرَابًا وَعِظَـٰمًا أَءِنَّا لَمَبْعُوثُونَ
37:16
They say, "Shall we be brought to life again after we die and turn into dust and bones? - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
37:17
أَوَءَابَآؤُنَا ٱلْأَوَّلُونَ
37:17
Will our forefathers also be brought to life again?" - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
37:18
قُلْ نَعَمْ وَأَنتُمْ دَٰخِرُونَ
37:18
Say, "You will certainly be brought back to life in disgrace". - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
37:19
فَإِنَّمَا هِىَ زَجْرَةٌ وَٰحِدَةٌ فَإِذَا هُمْ يَنظُرُونَ
37:19
The Day of Judgment will come within a single roar and they will remain gazing at it. - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
37:20
وَقَالُوا۟ يَـٰوَيْلَنَا هَـٰذَا يَوْمُ ٱلدِّينِ
37:20
They will say, "Woe to us!" (They will be told), "This is the day of receiving recompense". - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
37:21
هَـٰذَا يَوْمُ ٱلْفَصْلِ ٱلَّذِى كُنتُم بِهِۦ تُكَذِّبُونَ
37:21
This is the Day of Judgment in which you disbelieved. - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
37:22
۞ ٱحْشُرُوا۟ ٱلَّذِينَ ظَلَمُوا۟ وَأَزْوَٰجَهُمْ وَمَا كَانُوا۟ يَعْبُدُونَ
37:22
(God will command the angels), "Gather together the unjust, their spouses, and what they had worshipped - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
37:23
مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ فَٱهْدُوهُمْ إِلَىٰ صِرَٰطِ ٱلْجَحِيمِ
37:23
besides God, and show them the way of hell. - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
37:24
وَقِفُوهُمْ ۖ إِنَّهُم مَّسْـُٔولُونَ
37:24
Stop them. They must be questioned." - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
37:25
مَا لَكُمْ لَا تَنَاصَرُونَ
37:25
They will be asked, "Why do you not help each other?" - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
37:26
بَلْ هُمُ ٱلْيَوْمَ مُسْتَسْلِمُونَ
37:26
In fact, on that day they will be submissive. - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
37:27
وَأَقْبَلَ بَعْضُهُمْ عَلَىٰ بَعْضٍ يَتَسَآءَلُونَ
37:27
They will turn to each other saying, - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
37:28
قَالُوٓا۟ إِنَّكُمْ كُنتُمْ تَأْتُونَنَا عَنِ ٱلْيَمِينِ
37:28
"It was you who tried to mislead us from righteousness". - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
37:29
قَالُوا۟ بَل لَّمْ تَكُونُوا۟ مُؤْمِنِينَ
37:29
Others will respond, "It was you who did not want to have any faith. - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
37:30
وَمَا كَانَ لَنَا عَلَيْكُم مِّن سُلْطَـٰنٍۭ ۖ بَلْ كُنتُمْ قَوْمًا طَـٰغِينَ
37:30
We had no authority over you, in fact, you were a rebellious people. - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
37:31
فَحَقَّ عَلَيْنَا قَوْلُ رَبِّنَآ ۖ إِنَّا لَذَآئِقُونَ
37:31
Thus, the words of Our Lord about us have come true and now we are suffering the torment. - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
37:32
فَأَغْوَيْنَـٰكُمْ إِنَّا كُنَّا غَـٰوِينَ
37:32
We mislead you and we ourselves had also gone astray." - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
37:33
فَإِنَّهُمْ يَوْمَئِذٍ فِى ٱلْعَذَابِ مُشْتَرِكُونَ
37:33
On that day they will all share the torment. - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
37:34
إِنَّا كَذَٰلِكَ نَفْعَلُ بِٱلْمُجْرِمِينَ
37:34
This is how We deal with the criminals. - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
37:35
إِنَّهُمْ كَانُوٓا۟ إِذَا قِيلَ لَهُمْ لَآ إِلَـٰهَ إِلَّا ٱللَّهُ يَسْتَكْبِرُونَ
37:35
They were the ones, who on being told, "God is only One," become puffed-up with pride - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
37:36
وَيَقُولُونَ أَئِنَّا لَتَارِكُوٓا۟ ءَالِهَتِنَا لِشَاعِرٍ مَّجْنُونٍۭ
37:36
and said, "Should we give up our idols for the sake of an insane poet". - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
37:37
بَلْ جَآءَ بِٱلْحَقِّ وَصَدَّقَ ٱلْمُرْسَلِينَ
37:37
In fact, he had brought them the truth and had acknowledged the Messengers (who were sent before him). - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
37:38
إِنَّكُمْ لَذَآئِقُوا۟ ٱلْعَذَابِ ٱلْأَلِيمِ
37:38
(They will be told), "You will certainly suffer the painful torment - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
37:39
وَمَا تُجْزَوْنَ إِلَّا مَا كُنتُمْ تَعْمَلُونَ
37:39
and will be recompensed only for what you deserve. - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
37:40
إِلَّا عِبَادَ ٱللَّهِ ٱلْمُخْلَصِينَ
37:40
But the sincere servants of God - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
37:41
أُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَ لَهُمْ رِزْقٌ مَّعْلُومٌ
37:41
will have their determined sustenance - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
37:42
فَوَٰكِهُ ۖ وَهُم مُّكْرَمُونَ
37:42
and fruits while they are honored. - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
37:43
فِى جَنَّـٰتِ ٱلنَّعِيمِ
37:43
(They will live) in the bountiful gardens, - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
37:44
عَلَىٰ سُرُرٍ مُّتَقَـٰبِلِينَ
37:44
on couches facing each other. - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
37:45
يُطَافُ عَلَيْهِم بِكَأْسٍ مِّن مَّعِينٍۭ
37:45
They will be served with a cup full of crystal clear wine, - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
37:46
بَيْضَآءَ لَذَّةٍ لِّلشَّـٰرِبِينَ
37:46
delicious to those who drink it - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
37:47
لَا فِيهَا غَوْلٌ وَلَا هُمْ عَنْهَا يُنزَفُونَ
37:47
but not harmful or intoxicating. - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
37:48
وَعِندَهُمْ قَـٰصِرَٰتُ ٱلطَّرْفِ عِينٌ
37:48
They will have with them loving wives with big black and white eyes - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
37:49
كَأَنَّهُنَّ بَيْضٌ مَّكْنُونٌ
37:49
who are as chaste as sheltered eggs. - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
37:50
فَأَقْبَلَ بَعْضُهُمْ عَلَىٰ بَعْضٍ يَتَسَآءَلُونَ
37:50
They will turn to each other and ask questions. - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
37:51
قَالَ قَآئِلٌ مِّنْهُمْ إِنِّى كَانَ لِى قَرِينٌ
37:51
One of them will say, "I had a companion who asked me, - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
37:52
يَقُولُ أَءِنَّكَ لَمِنَ ٱلْمُصَدِّقِينَ
37:52
'Do you believe in the Day of Judgment? - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
37:53
أَءِذَا مِتْنَا وَكُنَّا تُرَابًا وَعِظَـٰمًا أَءِنَّا لَمَدِينُونَ
37:53
Shall we be recompensed for our deeds after we die and become bones and dust? - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
37:54
قَالَ هَلْ أَنتُم مُّطَّلِعُونَ
37:54
Do you want to see him?' " - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
37:55
فَٱطَّلَعَ فَرَءَاهُ فِى سَوَآءِ ٱلْجَحِيمِ
37:55
He will look down and see him in hell. - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
37:56
قَالَ تَٱللَّهِ إِن كِدتَّ لَتُرْدِينِ
37:56
He will say to his friend in hell, "By God, you almost destroyed me. - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
37:57
وَلَوْلَا نِعْمَةُ رَبِّى لَكُنتُ مِنَ ٱلْمُحْضَرِينَ
37:57
Had I not the guidance of my Lord, I would certainly have been brought into torment". - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
37:58
أَفَمَا نَحْنُ بِمَيِّتِينَ
37:58
He will ask his companion, "Did you not say that there would only be one death - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
37:59
إِلَّا مَوْتَتَنَا ٱلْأُولَىٰ وَمَا نَحْنُ بِمُعَذَّبِينَ
37:59
and that we would not be punished?" - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
37:60
إِنَّ هَـٰذَا لَهُوَ ٱلْفَوْزُ ٱلْعَظِيمُ
37:60
This is certainly the greatest triumph - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
37:61
لِمِثْلِ هَـٰذَا فَلْيَعْمَلِ ٱلْعَـٰمِلُونَ
37:61
for which one must strive hard. - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
37:62
أَذَٰلِكَ خَيْرٌ نُّزُلًا أَمْ شَجَرَةُ ٱلزَّقُّومِ
37:62
Is this not a better reward than the tree of Zaqqum - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
37:63
إِنَّا جَعَلْنَـٰهَا فِتْنَةً لِّلظَّـٰلِمِينَ
37:63
which We have made as a torment for the unjust? - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
37:64
إِنَّهَا شَجَرَةٌ تَخْرُجُ فِىٓ أَصْلِ ٱلْجَحِيمِ
37:64
(Zaqqum) is a tree which grows from the deepest part of hell, - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
37:65
طَلْعُهَا كَأَنَّهُۥ رُءُوسُ ٱلشَّيَـٰطِينِ
37:65
and its fruits are like the heads of devils. - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
37:66
فَإِنَّهُمْ لَـَٔاكِلُونَ مِنْهَا فَمَالِـُٔونَ مِنْهَا ٱلْبُطُونَ
37:66
The dwellers of hell will eat that fruit and fill-up their bellies. - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
37:67
ثُمَّ إِنَّ لَهُمْ عَلَيْهَا لَشَوْبًا مِّنْ حَمِيمٍ
37:67
Then they will have on top of it a mixture of boiling water. - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
37:68
ثُمَّ إِنَّ مَرْجِعَهُمْ لَإِلَى ٱلْجَحِيمِ
37:68
They can only return to hell. - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
37:69
إِنَّهُمْ أَلْفَوْا۟ ءَابَآءَهُمْ ضَآلِّينَ
37:69
They found their father going astray - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
37:70
فَهُمْ عَلَىٰٓ ءَاثَـٰرِهِمْ يُهْرَعُونَ
37:70
and rushed to follow them. - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
37:71
وَلَقَدْ ضَلَّ قَبْلَهُمْ أَكْثَرُ ٱلْأَوَّلِينَ
37:71
Most of the ancient people had also gone astray. - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
37:72
وَلَقَدْ أَرْسَلْنَا فِيهِم مُّنذِرِينَ
37:72
We had certainly sent warners to them. - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
37:73
فَٱنظُرْ كَيْفَ كَانَ عَـٰقِبَةُ ٱلْمُنذَرِينَ
37:73
See how terrible was the end of those who were warned. - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
37:74
إِلَّا عِبَادَ ٱللَّهِ ٱلْمُخْلَصِينَ
37:74
Only Our sincere servants were saved. - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
37:75
وَلَقَدْ نَادَىٰنَا نُوحٌ فَلَنِعْمَ ٱلْمُجِيبُونَ
37:75
Noah called for help. How blessed was the answer which he received. - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
37:76
وَنَجَّيْنَـٰهُ وَأَهْلَهُۥ مِنَ ٱلْكَرْبِ ٱلْعَظِيمِ
37:76
We rescued him and his people from the greatest affliction - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
37:77
وَجَعَلْنَا ذُرِّيَّتَهُۥ هُمُ ٱلْبَاقِينَ
37:77
and We made his offspring the only survivors. - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
37:78
وَتَرَكْنَا عَلَيْهِ فِى ٱلْـَٔاخِرِينَ
37:78
We perpetuated his praise in later generations. - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
37:79
سَلَـٰمٌ عَلَىٰ نُوحٍ فِى ٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ
37:79
Peace be with Noah among all men in the worlds. - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
37:80
إِنَّا كَذَٰلِكَ نَجْزِى ٱلْمُحْسِنِينَ
37:80
Thus do We reward the righteous ones. - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
37:81
إِنَّهُۥ مِنْ عِبَادِنَا ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ
37:81
He was one of Our believing servants. - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
37:82
ثُمَّ أَغْرَقْنَا ٱلْـَٔاخَرِينَ
37:82
We drowned all the others (besides Noah and his people). - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
37:83
۞ وَإِنَّ مِن شِيعَتِهِۦ لَإِبْرَٰهِيمَ
37:83
Abraham was one of his followers. - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
37:84
إِذْ جَآءَ رَبَّهُۥ بِقَلْبٍ سَلِيمٍ
37:84
He turned to his Lord with a sound heart - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
37:85
إِذْ قَالَ لِأَبِيهِ وَقَوْمِهِۦ مَاذَا تَعْبُدُونَ
37:85
and asked his father and his people, "What is that you worship? - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
37:86
أَئِفْكًا ءَالِهَةً دُونَ ٱللَّهِ تُرِيدُونَ
37:86
Do you want to worship false idols as your lords besides God? - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
37:87
فَمَا ظَنُّكُم بِرَبِّ ٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ
37:87
What do you think about the Lord of the Universe?" - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
37:88
فَنَظَرَ نَظْرَةً فِى ٱلنُّجُومِ
37:88
The people invited him to attend their feast). Then he looked at the stars - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
37:89
فَقَالَ إِنِّى سَقِيمٌ
37:89
and said, "I am sick!" - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
37:90
فَتَوَلَّوْا۟ عَنْهُ مُدْبِرِينَ
37:90
All the people turned away from him - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
37:91
فَرَاغَ إِلَىٰٓ ءَالِهَتِهِمْ فَقَالَ أَلَا تَأْكُلُونَ
37:91
and he turned to their idols and asked them, "Do you eat? - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
37:92
مَا لَكُمْ لَا تَنطِقُونَ
37:92
Why do you not speak?" - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
37:93
فَرَاغَ عَلَيْهِمْ ضَرْبًۢا بِٱلْيَمِينِ
37:93
He struck them with his right hand. - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
37:94
فَأَقْبَلُوٓا۟ إِلَيْهِ يَزِفُّونَ
37:94
Thereupon the people came running to him. - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
37:95
قَالَ أَتَعْبُدُونَ مَا تَنْحِتُونَ
37:95
He said, "How can you worship what you yourselves have carved - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
37:96
وَٱللَّهُ خَلَقَكُمْ وَمَا تَعْمَلُونَ
37:96
even though God created both you and that which you have made?" - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
37:97
قَالُوا۟ ٱبْنُوا۟ لَهُۥ بُنْيَـٰنًا فَأَلْقُوهُ فِى ٱلْجَحِيمِ
37:97
They said, "Let us build a fire and throw him into the flames". - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
37:98
فَأَرَادُوا۟ بِهِۦ كَيْدًا فَجَعَلْنَـٰهُمُ ٱلْأَسْفَلِينَ
37:98
They plotted against him, but We brought humiliation upon them. - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
37:99
وَقَالَ إِنِّى ذَاهِبٌ إِلَىٰ رَبِّى سَيَهْدِينِ
37:99
(Abraham) said, "I will go to my Lord who will guide me". - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
37:100
رَبِّ هَبْ لِى مِنَ ٱلصَّـٰلِحِينَ
37:100
Abraham prayed, "Lord, grant me a righteous son". - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
37:101
فَبَشَّرْنَـٰهُ بِغُلَـٰمٍ حَلِيمٍ
37:101
We gave him the glad news of the birth of a forbearing son. - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
37:102
فَلَمَّا بَلَغَ مَعَهُ ٱلسَّعْىَ قَالَ يَـٰبُنَىَّ إِنِّىٓ أَرَىٰ فِى ٱلْمَنَامِ أَنِّىٓ أَذْبَحُكَ فَٱنظُرْ مَاذَا تَرَىٰ ۚ قَالَ يَـٰٓأَبَتِ ٱفْعَلْ مَا تُؤْمَرُ ۖ سَتَجِدُنِىٓ إِن شَآءَ ٱللَّهُ مِنَ ٱلصَّـٰبِرِينَ
37:102
When his son was old enough to work with him, he said, "My son, I have had a dream that I must sacrifice you. What do you think of this?" He replied, "Father, fulfill whatever you are commanded to do and you will find me patient, by the will of God". - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
37:103
فَلَمَّآ أَسْلَمَا وَتَلَّهُۥ لِلْجَبِينِ
37:103
When they both agreed and Abraham had lain down his son on the side of his face (for slaughtering), - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
37:104
وَنَـٰدَيْنَـٰهُ أَن يَـٰٓإِبْرَٰهِيمُ
37:104
We called to him, "Abraham, - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
37:105
قَدْ صَدَّقْتَ ٱلرُّءْيَآ ۚ إِنَّا كَذَٰلِكَ نَجْزِى ٱلْمُحْسِنِينَ
37:105
you have fulfilled what you were commanded to do in your dream." Thus do We reward the righteous ones. - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
37:106
إِنَّ هَـٰذَا لَهُوَ ٱلْبَلَـٰٓؤُا۟ ٱلْمُبِينُ
37:106
It was certainly an open trial. - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
37:107
وَفَدَيْنَـٰهُ بِذِبْحٍ عَظِيمٍ
37:107
We ransomed his son with a great sacrifice - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
37:108
وَتَرَكْنَا عَلَيْهِ فِى ٱلْـَٔاخِرِينَ
37:108
and perpetuated his praise in later generations. - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
37:109
سَلَـٰمٌ عَلَىٰٓ إِبْرَٰهِيمَ
37:109
Peace be with Abraham. - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
37:110
كَذَٰلِكَ نَجْزِى ٱلْمُحْسِنِينَ
37:110
Thus, do We reward the righteous ones. - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
37:111
إِنَّهُۥ مِنْ عِبَادِنَا ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ
37:111
He was one of Our believing servants. - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
37:112
وَبَشَّرْنَـٰهُ بِإِسْحَـٰقَ نَبِيًّا مِّنَ ٱلصَّـٰلِحِينَ
37:112
We gave him the glad news of the birth of Isaac, one of the righteous Prophets. - Muhammad Sarwar (English)

وَبَـٰرَكْنَا عَلَيْهِ وَعَلَىٰٓ إِسْحَـٰقَ ۚ وَمِن ذُرِّيَّتِهِمَا مُحْسِنٌ وَظَالِمٌ لِّنَفْسِهِۦ مُبِينٌ
37:113
We had blessed him and Isaac. Some of their offspring were righteous and others were openly unjust to themselves. - Muhammad Sarwar (English)

وَلَقَدْ مَنَنَّا عَلَىٰ مُوسَىٰ وَهَـٰرُونَ
37:114
We certainly bestowed Our favor upon Moses and Aaron - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
37:115
وَنَجَّيْنَـٰهُمَا وَقَوْمَهُمَا مِنَ ٱلْكَرْبِ ٱلْعَظِيمِ
37:115
and saved them and their people from great distress. - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
37:116
وَنَصَرْنَـٰهُمْ فَكَانُوا۟ هُمُ ٱلْغَـٰلِبِينَ
37:116
We helped them and they were victorious. - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
37:117
وَءَاتَيْنَـٰهُمَا ٱلْكِتَـٰبَ ٱلْمُسْتَبِينَ
37:117
We gave them the enlightening Book, - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
37:118
وَهَدَيْنَـٰهُمَا ٱلصِّرَٰطَ ٱلْمُسْتَقِيمَ
37:118
guided them to the right path, - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
37:119
وَتَرَكْنَا عَلَيْهِمَا فِى ٱلْـَٔاخِرِينَ
37:119
and perpetuated their praise in later generations. - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
37:120
سَلَـٰمٌ عَلَىٰ مُوسَىٰ وَهَـٰرُونَ
37:120
Peace be with Moses and Aaron. - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
37:121
إِنَّا كَذَٰلِكَ نَجْزِى ٱلْمُحْسِنِينَ
37:121
Thus do We reward the righteous ones. - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
37:122
إِنَّهُمَا مِنْ عِبَادِنَا ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ
37:122
They were two of Our believing servants. - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
37:123
وَإِنَّ إِلْيَاسَ لَمِنَ ٱلْمُرْسَلِينَ
37:123
Elias was certainly a Messenger. - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
37:124
إِذْ قَالَ لِقَوْمِهِۦٓ أَلَا تَتَّقُونَ
37:124
He told his people, "Why do you not have fear of God? - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
37:125
أَتَدْعُونَ بَعْلًا وَتَذَرُونَ أَحْسَنَ ٱلْخَـٰلِقِينَ
37:125
Do you worship Ba`al and abandon the Best Creator. - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
37:126
ٱللَّهَ رَبَّكُمْ وَرَبَّ ءَابَآئِكُمُ ٱلْأَوَّلِينَ
37:126
who is your Lord and the Lord of your forefathers?" - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
37:127
فَكَذَّبُوهُ فَإِنَّهُمْ لَمُحْضَرُونَ
37:127
They called him a liar. Thus, all of them will suffer torment - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
37:128
إِلَّا عِبَادَ ٱللَّهِ ٱلْمُخْلَصِينَ
37:128
except the sincere servants of God. - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
37:129
وَتَرَكْنَا عَلَيْهِ فِى ٱلْـَٔاخِرِينَ
37:129
We perpetuated his praise in the later generations. - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
37:130
سَلَـٰمٌ عَلَىٰٓ إِلْ يَاسِينَ
37:130
Peace be with the followers of Elias. - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
37:131
إِنَّا كَذَٰلِكَ نَجْزِى ٱلْمُحْسِنِينَ
37:131
In this way do We reward the righteous ones. - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
37:132
إِنَّهُۥ مِنْ عِبَادِنَا ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ
37:132
He was one of Our believing servants. - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
37:133
وَإِنَّ لُوطًا لَّمِنَ ٱلْمُرْسَلِينَ
37:133
Lot was certainly a Messenger. - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
37:134
إِذْ نَجَّيْنَـٰهُ وَأَهْلَهُۥٓ أَجْمَعِينَ
37:134
We rescued him and his whole family, - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
37:135
إِلَّا عَجُوزًا فِى ٱلْغَـٰبِرِينَ
37:135
except for an old woman who remained behind. - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
37:136
ثُمَّ دَمَّرْنَا ٱلْـَٔاخَرِينَ
37:136
Then We totally destroyed the others. - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
37:137
وَإِنَّكُمْ لَتَمُرُّونَ عَلَيْهِم مُّصْبِحِينَ
37:137
You pass by (their ruined town) in the morning and at night. - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
37:138
وَبِٱلَّيْلِ ۗ أَفَلَا تَعْقِلُونَ
37:138
Will you then not understand? - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
37:139
وَإِنَّ يُونُسَ لَمِنَ ٱلْمُرْسَلِينَ
37:139
Jonah was certainly a Messenger. - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
37:140
إِذْ أَبَقَ إِلَى ٱلْفُلْكِ ٱلْمَشْحُونِ
37:140
He abandoned his people - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
37:141
فَسَاهَمَ فَكَانَ مِنَ ٱلْمُدْحَضِينَ
37:141
and sailed away in a laden ship, wherein people cast lots. Because he lost, he was thrown into the water. - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
37:142
فَٱلْتَقَمَهُ ٱلْحُوتُ وَهُوَ مُلِيمٌ
37:142
The fish swallowed him up and he deserved (all this). - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
37:143
فَلَوْلَآ أَنَّهُۥ كَانَ مِنَ ٱلْمُسَبِّحِينَ
37:143
Had he not glorified God, - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
37:144
لَلَبِثَ فِى بَطْنِهِۦٓ إِلَىٰ يَوْمِ يُبْعَثُونَ
37:144
he would certainly have remained inside the fish until the Day of Resurrection. - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
37:145
۞ فَنَبَذْنَـٰهُ بِٱلْعَرَآءِ وَهُوَ سَقِيمٌ
37:145
We cast him out of the fish unto dry land and he was sick. - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
37:146
وَأَنۢبَتْنَا عَلَيْهِ شَجَرَةً مِّن يَقْطِينٍ
37:146
We made a plant of gourd grow up for him. - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
37:147
وَأَرْسَلْنَـٰهُ إِلَىٰ مِا۟ئَةِ أَلْفٍ أَوْ يَزِيدُونَ
37:147
We sent him to a hundred thousand or more people. - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
37:148
فَـَٔامَنُوا۟ فَمَتَّعْنَـٰهُمْ إِلَىٰ حِينٍ
37:148
They believed in him so We granted them enjoyment for an appointed time. - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
37:149
فَٱسْتَفْتِهِمْ أَلِرَبِّكَ ٱلْبَنَاتُ وَلَهُمُ ٱلْبَنُونَ
37:149
(Muhammad), ask them, "Do daughters belong to your Lord and sons to them? - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
37:150
أَمْ خَلَقْنَا ٱلْمَلَـٰٓئِكَةَ إِنَـٰثًا وَهُمْ شَـٰهِدُونَ
37:150
Have We created the angels as females before their very eyes? - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
37:151
أَلَآ إِنَّهُم مِّنْ إِفْكِهِمْ لَيَقُولُونَ
37:151
It is only because of their false invention that they say, - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
37:152
وَلَدَ ٱللَّهُ وَإِنَّهُمْ لَكَـٰذِبُونَ
37:152
'God has begotten a son.' They are certainly liars. - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
37:153
أَصْطَفَى ٱلْبَنَاتِ عَلَى ٱلْبَنِينَ
37:153
Has He chosen daughters in preference to sons? - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
37:154
مَا لَكُمْ كَيْفَ تَحْكُمُونَ
37:154
Woe to you! How terrible is your Judgment. - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
37:155
أَفَلَا تَذَكَّرُونَ
37:155
Do you not understand? - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
37:156
أَمْ لَكُمْ سُلْطَـٰنٌ مُّبِينٌ
37:156
Do you have clear authority? - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
37:157
فَأْتُوا۟ بِكِتَـٰبِكُمْ إِن كُنتُمْ صَـٰدِقِينَ
37:157
Bring your book if what you say is true. - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
37:158
وَجَعَلُوا۟ بَيْنَهُۥ وَبَيْنَ ٱلْجِنَّةِ نَسَبًا ۚ وَلَقَدْ عَلِمَتِ ٱلْجِنَّةُ إِنَّهُمْ لَمُحْضَرُونَ
37:158
They have said that there is a relationship between Him and the jinn. The jinn certainly know that they will all be brought to suffer torment. - Muhammad Sarwar (English)

سُبْحَـٰنَ ٱللَّهِ عَمَّا يَصِفُونَ
37:159
God is too glorious to be described as they describe Him - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
37:160
إِلَّا عِبَادَ ٱللَّهِ ٱلْمُخْلَصِينَ
37:160
except the servants of God, sincere and devoted. - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
37:161
فَإِنَّكُمْ وَمَا تَعْبُدُونَ
37:161
You and whatever you worship - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
37:162
مَآ أَنتُمْ عَلَيْهِ بِفَـٰتِنِينَ
37:162
cannot mislead anyone - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
37:163
إِلَّا مَنْ هُوَ صَالِ ٱلْجَحِيمِ
37:163
except those who are doomed to enter hell. - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
37:164
وَمَا مِنَّآ إِلَّا لَهُۥ مَقَامٌ مَّعْلُومٌ
37:164
The angels say, "Each of us has an appointed place. - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
37:165
وَإِنَّا لَنَحْنُ ٱلصَّآفُّونَ
37:165
We stand in ranks (for prayer) - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
37:166
وَإِنَّا لَنَحْنُ ٱلْمُسَبِّحُونَ
37:166
and we glorify God". - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
37:167
وَإِن كَانُوا۟ لَيَقُولُونَ
37:167
Even though they (unbelievers) say, - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
37:168
لَوْ أَنَّ عِندَنَا ذِكْرًا مِّنَ ٱلْأَوَّلِينَ
37:168
"Had we received guidance from the people living before us, - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
37:169
لَكُنَّا عِبَادَ ٱللَّهِ ٱلْمُخْلَصِينَ
37:169
we would have certainly been sincere servants of God". - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
37:170
فَكَفَرُوا۟ بِهِۦ ۖ فَسَوْفَ يَعْلَمُونَ
37:170
They have rejected the Quran. They will soon know the consequences (of their disbelief). - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
37:171
وَلَقَدْ سَبَقَتْ كَلِمَتُنَا لِعِبَادِنَا ٱلْمُرْسَلِينَ
37:171
We decreed that Our Messenger servants - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
37:172
إِنَّهُمْ لَهُمُ ٱلْمَنصُورُونَ
37:172
will certainly be victorious - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
37:173
وَإِنَّ جُندَنَا لَهُمُ ٱلْغَـٰلِبُونَ
37:173
and that Our army will be triumphant. - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
37:174
فَتَوَلَّ عَنْهُمْ حَتَّىٰ حِينٍ
37:174
(Muhammad), stay away from them for a while - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
37:175
وَأَبْصِرْهُمْ فَسَوْفَ يُبْصِرُونَ
37:175
and watch them. They, too, will watch. - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
37:176
أَفَبِعَذَابِنَا يَسْتَعْجِلُونَ
37:176
Do they want to suffer Our torment immediately? - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
37:177
فَإِذَا نَزَلَ بِسَاحَتِهِمْ فَسَآءَ صَبَاحُ ٱلْمُنذَرِينَ
37:177
When it descends into their courtyard, it will be terrible for those who have already been warned. - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
37:178
وَتَوَلَّ عَنْهُمْ حَتَّىٰ حِينٍ
37:178
Stay away from them for a while - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
37:179
وَأَبْصِرْ فَسَوْفَ يُبْصِرُونَ
37:179
and watch. They, too, will watch. - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
37:180
سُبْحَـٰنَ رَبِّكَ رَبِّ ٱلْعِزَّةِ عَمَّا يَصِفُونَ
37:180
Your Lord, the Lord of Honor, is too exalted to be considered as they describe Him. - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
37:181
وَسَلَـٰمٌ عَلَى ٱلْمُرْسَلِينَ
37:181
Peace be with the Messengers (of God). - Muhammad Sarwar (English)

وَٱلْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ رَبِّ ٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ
37:182
It is only God, the Lord of the Universe, who deserves all praise. - Muhammad Sarwar (English)
