Transliteration
Wahiduddin Khan
بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful.
37:1
وَٱلصَّـٰٓفَّـٰتِ صَفًّا
37:1
By the angels ranged in ranks. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
37:2
فَٱلزَّٰجِرَٰتِ زَجْرًا
37:2
By the angels driving away. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
37:3
فَٱلتَّـٰلِيَـٰتِ ذِكْرًا
37:3
By the angels reciting the praise. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
37:4
إِنَّ إِلَـٰهَكُمْ لَوَٰحِدٌ
37:4
Verily your God is One. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
37:5
رَّبُّ ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَا وَرَبُّ ٱلْمَشَـٰرِقِ
37:5
Lord of the heavens and the earth and whatsoever is in- between the twain, and Lord of the easts. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
37:6
إِنَّا زَيَّنَّا ٱلسَّمَآءَ ٱلدُّنْيَا بِزِينَةٍ ٱلْكَوَاكِبِ
37:6
Verily We! We have adorned the nearest heaven with an adornment: the stars. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
37:7
وَحِفْظًا مِّن كُلِّ شَيْطَـٰنٍ مَّارِدٍ
37:7
And have placed therein a guard against any Satan froward. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
37:8
لَّا يَسَّمَّعُونَ إِلَى ٱلْمَلَإِ ٱلْأَعْلَىٰ وَيُقْذَفُونَ مِن كُلِّ جَانِبٍ
37:8
They cannot listen to the exalted assembly, and they are darted at from every side. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
37:9
دُحُورًا ۖ وَلَهُمْ عَذَابٌ وَاصِبٌ
37:9
With a driving fusillade, and theirs shall be a torment perpetual; - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
37:10
إِلَّا مَنْ خَطِفَ ٱلْخَطْفَةَ فَأَتْبَعَهُۥ شِهَابٌ ثَاقِبٌ
37:10
Except him who snatcheth away a word by stealth, and him then pursueth a glowing flame. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
37:11
فَٱسْتَفْتِهِمْ أَهُمْ أَشَدُّ خَلْقًا أَم مَّنْ خَلَقْنَآ ۚ إِنَّا خَلَقْنَـٰهُم مِّن طِينٍ لَّازِبٍۭ
37:11
Ask them thou: are they stronger in structure or those others whom We have created? Verily We! We have created them of a sticky clay. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
37:12
بَلْ عَجِبْتَ وَيَسْخَرُونَ
37:12
Aye! thou marvellest, and they scoff. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
37:13
وَإِذَا ذُكِّرُوا۟ لَا يَذْكُرُونَ
37:13
And when they are admonished, they receive not admcnition. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
37:14
وَإِذَا رَأَوْا۟ ءَايَةً يَسْتَسْخِرُونَ
37:14
And when they behold a sign, they turn to scoffing. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
37:15
وَقَالُوٓا۟ إِنْ هَـٰذَآ إِلَّا سِحْرٌ مُّبِينٌ
37:15
And they say: this Qur'an is naught but magic manifest. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
37:16
أَءِذَا مِتْنَا وَكُنَّا تُرَابًا وَعِظَـٰمًا أَءِنَّا لَمَبْعُوثُونَ
37:16
When we have become dead and have become dust and bones, shall we then verily be raised? - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
37:17
أَوَءَابَآؤُنَا ٱلْأَوَّلُونَ
37:17
And also our forefathers? - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
37:18
قُلْ نَعَمْ وَأَنتُمْ دَٰخِرُونَ
37:18
Say thou: and verily ye; shall then be despicable. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
37:19
فَإِنَّمَا هِىَ زَجْرَةٌ وَٰحِدَةٌ فَإِذَا هُمْ يَنظُرُونَ
37:19
It shall be but one shout, lo! they shall be staring. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
37:20
وَقَالُوا۟ يَـٰوَيْلَنَا هَـٰذَا يَوْمُ ٱلدِّينِ
37:20
And they will say: Ah! woe be Unto us! this is the Day of Requital. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
37:21
هَـٰذَا يَوْمُ ٱلْفَصْلِ ٱلَّذِى كُنتُم بِهِۦ تُكَذِّبُونَ
37:21
This is the Day of Judgment which ye were wont to belie. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
37:22
۞ ٱحْشُرُوا۟ ٱلَّذِينَ ظَلَمُوا۟ وَأَزْوَٰجَهُمْ وَمَا كَانُوا۟ يَعْبُدُونَ
37:22
Gather together those who did wrong and their comrades and that which they were wont to worship - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
37:23
مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ فَٱهْدُوهُمْ إِلَىٰ صِرَٰطِ ٱلْجَحِيمِ
37:23
Beside Allah, and lead them on to the path of the Flaming Fire. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
37:24
وَقِفُوهُمْ ۖ إِنَّهُم مَّسْـُٔولُونَ
37:24
And stop them; verily they are to be questioned: - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
37:25
مَا لَكُمْ لَا تَنَاصَرُونَ
37:25
What aileth you that ye succour not one another? - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
37:26
بَلْ هُمُ ٱلْيَوْمَ مُسْتَسْلِمُونَ
37:26
Nay! on that Day they will be entirely submissive. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
37:27
وَأَقْبَلَ بَعْضُهُمْ عَلَىٰ بَعْضٍ يَتَسَآءَلُونَ
37:27
And they will advance toward each other mutually questioning. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
37:28
قَالُوٓا۟ إِنَّكُمْ كُنتُمْ تَأْتُونَنَا عَنِ ٱلْيَمِينِ
37:28
They will say: verily ye! ye were wont to come Unto us Imposing. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
37:29
قَالُوا۟ بَل لَّمْ تَكُونُوا۟ مُؤْمِنِينَ
37:29
They will say: nay! ye yourselves were not believers. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
37:30
وَمَا كَانَ لَنَا عَلَيْكُم مِّن سُلْطَـٰنٍۭ ۖ بَلْ كُنتُمْ قَوْمًا طَـٰغِينَ
37:30
And we had over you no authority, but ye were a people exorbitant. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
37:31
فَحَقَّ عَلَيْنَا قَوْلُ رَبِّنَآ ۖ إِنَّا لَذَآئِقُونَ
37:31
So on us hath been justified the sentence of our Lord: verily we are to taste. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
37:32
فَأَغْوَيْنَـٰكُمْ إِنَّا كُنَّا غَـٰوِينَ
37:32
We seduced you astray; verily we were ourselves the seduced ones. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
37:33
فَإِنَّهُمْ يَوْمَئِذٍ فِى ٱلْعَذَابِ مُشْتَرِكُونَ
37:33
So verily on that Day they all in the torment will be sharers. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
37:34
إِنَّا كَذَٰلِكَ نَفْعَلُ بِٱلْمُجْرِمِينَ
37:34
Verily We! in this wise We deal with the culprits. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
37:35
إِنَّهُمْ كَانُوٓا۟ إِذَا قِيلَ لَهُمْ لَآ إِلَـٰهَ إِلَّا ٱللَّهُ يَسْتَكْبِرُونَ
37:35
Verily when it was said Unto them: there is no god but Allah, they ever grew stiff-necked. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
37:36
وَيَقُولُونَ أَئِنَّا لَتَارِكُوٓا۟ ءَالِهَتِنَا لِشَاعِرٍ مَّجْنُونٍۭ
37:36
And they said: are we going to abandon our gods on account of a Poet distracted? - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
37:37
بَلْ جَآءَ بِٱلْحَقِّ وَصَدَّقَ ٱلْمُرْسَلِينَ
37:37
Aye! he hath come with the truth, and he confesseth to the sent ones. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
37:38
إِنَّكُمْ لَذَآئِقُوا۟ ٱلْعَذَابِ ٱلْأَلِيمِ
37:38
Verily ye are going to taste a torment afflictive. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
37:39
وَمَا تُجْزَوْنَ إِلَّا مَا كُنتُمْ تَعْمَلُونَ
37:39
And ye shall be required not except for that which ye have been doing; - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
37:40
إِلَّا عِبَادَ ٱللَّهِ ٱلْمُخْلَصِينَ
37:40
But the bondmen of Allah, the sincere ones - - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
37:41
أُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَ لَهُمْ رِزْقٌ مَّعْلُومٌ
37:41
Those! theirs shall be a provision known: - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
37:42
فَوَٰكِهُ ۖ وَهُم مُّكْرَمُونَ
37:42
Fruits! And they shall be honoured. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
37:43
فِى جَنَّـٰتِ ٱلنَّعِيمِ
37:43
In Gardens of Delight. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
37:44
عَلَىٰ سُرُرٍ مُّتَقَـٰبِلِينَ
37:44
On couches, facing one another. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
37:45
يُطَافُ عَلَيْهِم بِكَأْسٍ مِّن مَّعِينٍۭ
37:45
Round shall be passed a cup Unto them filled with limpid drink: - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
37:46
بَيْضَآءَ لَذَّةٍ لِّلشَّـٰرِبِينَ
37:46
White, a pleasure Unto the drinkers. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
37:47
لَا فِيهَا غَوْلٌ وَلَا هُمْ عَنْهَا يُنزَفُونَ
37:47
No headiness there shall be therein, nor shall they be therewith Inebriated. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
37:48
وَعِندَهُمْ قَـٰصِرَٰتُ ٱلطَّرْفِ عِينٌ
37:48
And with them shall be damsels of refraining looks, large- eyed - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
37:49
كَأَنَّهُنَّ بَيْضٌ مَّكْنُونٌ
37:49
As though they were eggs hidden. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
37:50
فَأَقْبَلَ بَعْضُهُمْ عَلَىٰ بَعْضٍ يَتَسَآءَلُونَ
37:50
Then they will advance Unto each other, mutually questioning. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
37:51
قَالَ قَآئِلٌ مِّنْهُمْ إِنِّى كَانَ لِى قَرِينٌ
37:51
And a speaker from among them will say: verily there was Unto me a mate. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
37:52
يَقُولُ أَءِنَّكَ لَمِنَ ٱلْمُصَدِّقِينَ
37:52
Who said: art thou of those who confess to the doctrine of Resurrection: - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
37:53
أَءِذَا مِتْنَا وَكُنَّا تُرَابًا وَعِظَـٰمًا أَءِنَّا لَمَدِينُونَ
37:53
When we are dead and have become dust and bones, are we indeed going to be requited? - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
37:54
قَالَ هَلْ أَنتُم مُّطَّلِعُونَ
37:54
Allah will say: will ye look down? - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
37:55
فَٱطَّلَعَ فَرَءَاهُ فِى سَوَآءِ ٱلْجَحِيمِ
37:55
Then he will look down and see him in the midst of the Flaming Fire. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
37:56
قَالَ تَٱللَّهِ إِن كِدتَّ لَتُرْدِينِ
37:56
And he will say: by Allah, thou hadst wellnigh causedest me to perish. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
37:57
وَلَوْلَا نِعْمَةُ رَبِّى لَكُنتُ مِنَ ٱلْمُحْضَرِينَ
37:57
And but for the favourcf my lord, I should have been of those brought forward. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
37:58
أَفَمَا نَحْنُ بِمَيِّتِينَ
37:58
Are we not then to die - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
37:59
إِلَّا مَوْتَتَنَا ٱلْأُولَىٰ وَمَا نَحْنُ بِمُعَذَّبِينَ
37:59
Save our first death, and are we not to be tormented? - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
37:60
إِنَّ هَـٰذَا لَهُوَ ٱلْفَوْزُ ٱلْعَظِيمُ
37:60
Verily this! that is the supreme achievement. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
37:61
لِمِثْلِ هَـٰذَا فَلْيَعْمَلِ ٱلْعَـٰمِلُونَ
37:61
For the like of this, then, let the workers work. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
37:62
أَذَٰلِكَ خَيْرٌ نُّزُلًا أَمْ شَجَرَةُ ٱلزَّقُّومِ
37:62
Is this better as an entertainment or the tree of Zaqqum? - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
37:63
إِنَّا جَعَلْنَـٰهَا فِتْنَةً لِّلظَّـٰلِمِينَ
37:63
Verily We! We have made it a temptation for the wrong- doers. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
37:64
إِنَّهَا شَجَرَةٌ تَخْرُجُ فِىٓ أَصْلِ ٱلْجَحِيمِ
37:64
Verily it is a tree that springeth forth in the bottom of Flaming Fire. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
37:65
طَلْعُهَا كَأَنَّهُۥ رُءُوسُ ٱلشَّيَـٰطِينِ
37:65
The fruit thereof is as though the hoods of the serpents. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
37:66
فَإِنَّهُمْ لَـَٔاكِلُونَ مِنْهَا فَمَالِـُٔونَ مِنْهَا ٱلْبُطُونَ
37:66
And verily they must eat thereof and fill their bellies therewith. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
37:67
ثُمَّ إِنَّ لَهُمْ عَلَيْهَا لَشَوْبًا مِّنْ حَمِيمٍ
37:67
And thereafter verily they shall have thereon a draught of balling water. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
37:68
ثُمَّ إِنَّ مَرْجِعَهُمْ لَإِلَى ٱلْجَحِيمِ
37:68
And thereafter verily their return is Unto the Flaming Fire. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
37:69
إِنَّهُمْ أَلْفَوْا۟ ءَابَآءَهُمْ ضَآلِّينَ
37:69
Verily they found their fathers gone astray. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
37:70
فَهُمْ عَلَىٰٓ ءَاثَـٰرِهِمْ يُهْرَعُونَ
37:70
So they in their footsteps are rushing. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
37:71
وَلَقَدْ ضَلَّ قَبْلَهُمْ أَكْثَرُ ٱلْأَوَّلِينَ
37:71
And assuredly there went stray before them many of the ancients. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
37:72
وَلَقَدْ أَرْسَلْنَا فِيهِم مُّنذِرِينَ
37:72
And assuredly We sent among them warners. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
37:73
فَٱنظُرْ كَيْفَ كَانَ عَـٰقِبَةُ ٱلْمُنذَرِينَ
37:73
So behold what wise hath been the end of those who were warned. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
37:74
إِلَّا عِبَادَ ٱللَّهِ ٱلْمُخْلَصِينَ
37:74
Save the bondmen of Allah sincere. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
37:75
وَلَقَدْ نَادَىٰنَا نُوحٌ فَلَنِعْمَ ٱلْمُجِيبُونَ
37:75
And assuredly Nuh cried Unto us; and We are the Best of answerers! - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
37:76
وَنَجَّيْنَـٰهُ وَأَهْلَهُۥ مِنَ ٱلْكَرْبِ ٱلْعَظِيمِ
37:76
And We delivered him and his people from the great affliction. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
37:77
وَجَعَلْنَا ذُرِّيَّتَهُۥ هُمُ ٱلْبَاقِينَ
37:77
And his offspring! them We made the survivors. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
37:78
وَتَرَكْنَا عَلَيْهِ فِى ٱلْـَٔاخِرِينَ
37:78
And We left for him among the posterity. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
37:79
سَلَـٰمٌ عَلَىٰ نُوحٍ فِى ٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ
37:79
Peace be on Nuh among the worlds. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
37:80
إِنَّا كَذَٰلِكَ نَجْزِى ٱلْمُحْسِنِينَ
37:80
Verily We! thus We recompense the well-doers. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
37:81
إِنَّهُۥ مِنْ عِبَادِنَا ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ
37:81
Verily he was of Our bondmen believing. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
37:82
ثُمَّ أَغْرَقْنَا ٱلْـَٔاخَرِينَ
37:82
Then We drowned the others. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
37:83
۞ وَإِنَّ مِن شِيعَتِهِۦ لَإِبْرَٰهِيمَ
37:83
And verily of his sect was Ibrahim. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
37:84
إِذْ جَآءَ رَبَّهُۥ بِقَلْبٍ سَلِيمٍ
37:84
Recall what time he came Unto his lord with a heart whole. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
37:85
إِذْ قَالَ لِأَبِيهِ وَقَوْمِهِۦ مَاذَا تَعْبُدُونَ
37:85
Recall what time he said Unto his father and his people: What is it that ye worship? - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
37:86
أَئِفْكًا ءَالِهَةً دُونَ ٱللَّهِ تُرِيدُونَ
37:86
Is it a falsehood-god beside Allah - that ye desire? - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
37:87
فَمَا ظَنُّكُم بِرَبِّ ٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ
37:87
what, then, is your opinion of the Lord of the worlds? - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
37:88
فَنَظَرَ نَظْرَةً فِى ٱلنُّجُومِ
37:88
Then he glanced a glance on the stars. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
37:89
فَقَالَ إِنِّى سَقِيمٌ
37:89
And he said: verily I am about to be sick. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
37:90
فَتَوَلَّوْا۟ عَنْهُ مُدْبِرِينَ
37:90
So they departed from him turning their backs. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
37:91
فَرَاغَ إِلَىٰٓ ءَالِهَتِهِمْ فَقَالَ أَلَا تَأْكُلُونَ
37:91
Then he slipped Unto their gods and said: eat ye not - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
37:92
مَا لَكُمْ لَا تَنطِقُونَ
37:92
What aileth ye that ye speak not? - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
37:93
فَرَاغَ عَلَيْهِمْ ضَرْبًۢا بِٱلْيَمِينِ
37:93
Then he slipped Unto them striking them with the right hand. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
37:94
فَأَقْبَلُوٓا۟ إِلَيْهِ يَزِفُّونَ
37:94
Then they advanced toward him, hastening. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
37:95
قَالَ أَتَعْبُدُونَ مَا تَنْحِتُونَ
37:95
He said: worship ye that which carve. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
37:96
وَٱللَّهُ خَلَقَكُمْ وَمَا تَعْمَلُونَ
37:96
Whereas Allah hath created you and that which ye make? - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
37:97
قَالُوا۟ ٱبْنُوا۟ لَهُۥ بُنْيَـٰنًا فَأَلْقُوهُ فِى ٱلْجَحِيمِ
37:97
They said. build for him a building and cast him into the flaming fire. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
37:98
فَأَرَادُوا۟ بِهِۦ كَيْدًا فَجَعَلْنَـٰهُمُ ٱلْأَسْفَلِينَ
37:98
And they devised a plot for him, but We made them the humble. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
37:99
وَقَالَ إِنِّى ذَاهِبٌ إِلَىٰ رَبِّى سَيَهْدِينِ
37:99
And he said: verily I am going to my Lord who will guide me. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
37:100
رَبِّ هَبْ لِى مِنَ ٱلصَّـٰلِحِينَ
37:100
My Lord! Bestow on me a son who will be of the righteous. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
37:101
فَبَشَّرْنَـٰهُ بِغُلَـٰمٍ حَلِيمٍ
37:101
Wherefore We gave him the glad tidings of a boy gentle. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
37:102
فَلَمَّا بَلَغَ مَعَهُ ٱلسَّعْىَ قَالَ يَـٰبُنَىَّ إِنِّىٓ أَرَىٰ فِى ٱلْمَنَامِ أَنِّىٓ أَذْبَحُكَ فَٱنظُرْ مَاذَا تَرَىٰ ۚ قَالَ يَـٰٓأَبَتِ ٱفْعَلْ مَا تُؤْمَرُ ۖ سَتَجِدُنِىٓ إِن شَآءَ ٱللَّهُ مِنَ ٱلصَّـٰبِرِينَ
37:102
And when he attained the age of, running with him, he said: O my son! verily I have seen in a dream that I am slaughtering thee; so look, what considerest thou? He said: O my father! do that which thou art commanded; thou shalt find me, Allah willing, of the patients. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
37:103
فَلَمَّآ أَسْلَمَا وَتَلَّهُۥ لِلْجَبِينِ
37:103
Then when the twain had submitted themselves and he had prostrated him upon his temple. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
37:104
وَنَـٰدَيْنَـٰهُ أَن يَـٰٓإِبْرَٰهِيمُ
37:104
We cried Unto him: O Ibrahim - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
37:105
قَدْ صَدَّقْتَ ٱلرُّءْيَآ ۚ إِنَّا كَذَٰلِكَ نَجْزِى ٱلْمُحْسِنِينَ
37:105
Of a surety thou hast fulfilled the vision. Verily We! thus We recompense the well-doers. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)

إِنَّ هَـٰذَا لَهُوَ ٱلْبَلَـٰٓؤُا۟ ٱلْمُبِينُ
37:106
Verily that! that was a trial manifest. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)

وَفَدَيْنَـٰهُ بِذِبْحٍ عَظِيمٍ
37:107
And We ransomed him with a mighty victim. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
37:108
وَتَرَكْنَا عَلَيْهِ فِى ٱلْـَٔاخِرِينَ
37:108
And We left for him among the posterity: - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
37:109
سَلَـٰمٌ عَلَىٰٓ إِبْرَٰهِيمَ
37:109
Peace be Unto Ibrahim: - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
37:110
كَذَٰلِكَ نَجْزِى ٱلْمُحْسِنِينَ
37:110
Verily We! thus We compense the well-doers. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
37:111
إِنَّهُۥ مِنْ عِبَادِنَا ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ
37:111
Verily he was one of Our believing bondmen. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
37:112
وَبَشَّرْنَـٰهُ بِإِسْحَـٰقَ نَبِيًّا مِّنَ ٱلصَّـٰلِحِينَ
37:112
And We gave him the glad tidings of Is-haq, a prophet, and of the righteous. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
37:113
وَبَـٰرَكْنَا عَلَيْهِ وَعَلَىٰٓ إِسْحَـٰقَ ۚ وَمِن ذُرِّيَّتِهِمَا مُحْسِنٌ وَظَالِمٌ لِّنَفْسِهِۦ مُبِينٌ
37:113
And We blessed him and Is-haq; and of their offspring are some well-doers and some who wrong themselves manifestly. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
37:114
وَلَقَدْ مَنَنَّا عَلَىٰ مُوسَىٰ وَهَـٰرُونَ
37:114
And assuredly We gave grace Unto Musa and Harun. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
37:115
وَنَجَّيْنَـٰهُمَا وَقَوْمَهُمَا مِنَ ٱلْكَرْبِ ٱلْعَظِيمِ
37:115
And delivered them and their people from the great affliction. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
37:116
وَنَصَرْنَـٰهُمْ فَكَانُوا۟ هُمُ ٱلْغَـٰلِبِينَ
37:116
And We succoured them so that they became overcomers. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
37:117
وَءَاتَيْنَـٰهُمَا ٱلْكِتَـٰبَ ٱلْمُسْتَبِينَ
37:117
And We vouchsafed Unto the twain a Book luminous. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
37:118
وَهَدَيْنَـٰهُمَا ٱلصِّرَٰطَ ٱلْمُسْتَقِيمَ
37:118
And We led the twain on Unto the straight path. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
37:119
وَتَرَكْنَا عَلَيْهِمَا فِى ٱلْـَٔاخِرِينَ
37:119
And We left for the twain among the posterity: - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
37:120
سَلَـٰمٌ عَلَىٰ مُوسَىٰ وَهَـٰرُونَ
37:120
Peace be Unto Musa and Harun. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
37:121
إِنَّا كَذَٰلِكَ نَجْزِى ٱلْمُحْسِنِينَ
37:121
Verily We! thus We recompense the well-doers. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
37:122
إِنَّهُمَا مِنْ عِبَادِنَا ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ
37:122
Verily the twain were of Our bondmen believing. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
37:123
وَإِنَّ إِلْيَاسَ لَمِنَ ٱلْمُرْسَلِينَ
37:123
And verily, llyas was one of the sent ones. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
37:124
إِذْ قَالَ لِقَوْمِهِۦٓ أَلَا تَتَّقُونَ
37:124
Recall what time he said Unto his people: fear ye not? - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
37:125
أَتَدْعُونَ بَعْلًا وَتَذَرُونَ أَحْسَنَ ٱلْخَـٰلِقِينَ
37:125
Call ye upon Bal and forsake the Best of creators. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
37:126
ٱللَّهَ رَبَّكُمْ وَرَبَّ ءَابَآئِكُمُ ٱلْأَوَّلِينَ
37:126
Allah, your Lord and Lord of your forefathers? - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
37:127
فَكَذَّبُوهُ فَإِنَّهُمْ لَمُحْضَرُونَ
37:127
Then they belied him, so verily they are to be brought up. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
37:128
إِلَّا عِبَادَ ٱللَّهِ ٱلْمُخْلَصِينَ
37:128
Except the bondmen of Allah sincere. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
37:129
وَتَرَكْنَا عَلَيْهِ فِى ٱلْـَٔاخِرِينَ
37:129
And We left for him among the posterity: - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
37:130
سَلَـٰمٌ عَلَىٰٓ إِلْ يَاسِينَ
37:130
Peace be Unto Elyasin. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
37:131
إِنَّا كَذَٰلِكَ نَجْزِى ٱلْمُحْسِنِينَ
37:131
Verily We! thus We recompense the well-doers. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
37:132
إِنَّهُۥ مِنْ عِبَادِنَا ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ

وَإِنَّ لُوطًا لَّمِنَ ٱلْمُرْسَلِينَ

And verily Lut was of the sent ones. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)

إِذْ نَجَّيْنَـٰهُ وَأَهْلَهُۥٓ أَجْمَعِينَ
37:134
Recall what time We delivered him and his household, all. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
37:135
إِلَّا عَجُوزًا فِى ٱلْغَـٰبِرِينَ
37:135
Save an old woman among the lingerers. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
37:136
ثُمَّ دَمَّرْنَا ٱلْـَٔاخَرِينَ
37:136
Then We annihilated the others. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
37:137
وَإِنَّكُمْ لَتَمُرُّونَ عَلَيْهِم مُّصْبِحِينَ
37:137
And surely ye pass by them in the morning. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
37:138
وَبِٱلَّيْلِ ۗ أَفَلَا تَعْقِلُونَ
37:138
And at night. Will ye not therefore reflect? - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
37:139
وَإِنَّ يُونُسَ لَمِنَ ٱلْمُرْسَلِينَ
37:139
And verily Yunus was Of the sent ones. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
37:140
إِذْ أَبَقَ إِلَى ٱلْفُلْكِ ٱلْمَشْحُونِ
37:140
Recall what time he ran away Unto a laden ship. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
37:141
فَسَاهَمَ فَكَانَ مِنَ ٱلْمُدْحَضِينَ
37:141
Then he joined the lots, and was of the condemned. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
37:142
فَٱلْتَقَمَهُ ٱلْحُوتُ وَهُوَ مُلِيمٌ
37:142
And a fish swallowed him, and he was reproaching himself. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
37:143
فَلَوْلَآ أَنَّهُۥ كَانَ مِنَ ٱلْمُسَبِّحِينَ
37:143
And had he not been of those who hallow Him, - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
37:144
لَلَبِثَ فِى بَطْنِهِۦٓ إِلَىٰ يَوْمِ يُبْعَثُونَ
37:144
He would have tarried in the belly thereof till the Day when they are raised. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
37:145
۞ فَنَبَذْنَـٰهُ بِٱلْعَرَآءِ وَهُوَ سَقِيمٌ
37:145
Then We cast him on a bare desert whilst he was sick. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
37:146
وَأَنۢبَتْنَا عَلَيْهِ شَجَرَةً مِّن يَقْطِينٍ
37:146
And We caused to grow over him a tree, a gourd. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
37:147
وَأَرْسَلْنَـٰهُ إِلَىٰ مِا۟ئَةِ أَلْفٍ أَوْ يَزِيدُونَ
37:147
And We had sent him to a hundred thousand: rather they exceeded. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
37:148
فَـَٔامَنُوا۟ فَمَتَّعْنَـٰهُمْ إِلَىٰ حِينٍ
37:148
And they believed, whrefore We let them enjoy life for a season. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
37:149
فَٱسْتَفْتِهِمْ أَلِرَبِّكَ ٱلْبَنَاتُ وَلَهُمُ ٱلْبَنُونَ
37:149
Now ask thou them: there for thy Lord daughters and for them sons? - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
37:150
أَمْ خَلَقْنَا ٱلْمَلَـٰٓئِكَةَ إِنَـٰثًا وَهُمْ شَـٰهِدُونَ
37:150
Or created We the angels females while they were witnesses? - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
37:151
أَلَآ إِنَّهُم مِّنْ إِفْكِهِمْ لَيَقُولُونَ
37:151
Lo! verily it is of their falsehood that they say: - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
37:152
وَلَدَ ٱللَّهُ وَإِنَّهُمْ لَكَـٰذِبُونَ
37:152
God hath begotten. Verily they are the liars. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
37:153
أَصْطَفَى ٱلْبَنَاتِ عَلَى ٱلْبَنِينَ
37:153
Hath He chosen daughters above sons? - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
37:154
مَا لَكُمْ كَيْفَ تَحْكُمُونَ
37:154
What aileth you? How judge ye? - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
37:155
أَفَلَا تَذَكَّرُونَ
37:155
Will ye not then be admonished? - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
37:156
أَمْ لَكُمْ سُلْطَـٰنٌ مُّبِينٌ
37:156
Or, is there for you a clear warranty - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
37:157
فَأْتُوا۟ بِكِتَـٰبِكُمْ إِن كُنتُمْ صَـٰدِقِينَ
37:157
Then bring your book, if ye say sooth. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
37:158
وَجَعَلُوا۟ بَيْنَهُۥ وَبَيْنَ ٱلْجِنَّةِ نَسَبًا ۚ وَلَقَدْ عَلِمَتِ ٱلْجِنَّةُ إِنَّهُمْ لَمُحْضَرُونَ
37:158
And they have made a kinship between Him and the jinn a kinship whereas the jinn assuredly know that they are to be brought up - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
37:159
سُبْحَـٰنَ ٱللَّهِ عَمَّا يَصِفُونَ
37:159
Hallowed be Allah from that which they ascribe to Him. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
37:160
إِلَّا عِبَادَ ٱللَّهِ ٱلْمُخْلَصِينَ
37:160
Except the bondmen of Allah sincere. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
37:161
فَإِنَّكُمْ وَمَا تَعْبُدُونَ
37:161
Wherefore verily neither ye nor that which ye worship, - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
37:162
مَآ أَنتُمْ عَلَيْهِ بِفَـٰتِنِينَ
37:162
Can tempt anyone to rebel against Him. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
37:163
إِلَّا مَنْ هُوَ صَالِ ٱلْجَحِيمِ
37:163
Save him Who is to roast in the Flaming Fire. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
37:164
وَمَا مِنَّآ إِلَّا لَهُۥ مَقَامٌ مَّعْلُومٌ
37:164
Of us there is none but hath a station assigned. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
37:165
وَإِنَّا لَنَحْنُ ٱلصَّآفُّونَ
37:165
And verily we! we are ranged in ranks. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
37:166
وَإِنَّا لَنَحْنُ ٱلْمُسَبِّحُونَ
37:166
And verily we! we halloW. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
37:167
وَإِن كَانُوا۟ لَيَقُولُونَ
37:167
And they surely were wont to say: - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
37:168
لَوْ أَنَّ عِندَنَا ذِكْرًا مِّنَ ٱلْأَوَّلِينَ
37:168
Had we but an admonition as had the ancients. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
37:169
لَكُنَّا عِبَادَ ٱللَّهِ ٱلْمُخْلَصِينَ
37:169
Surefy we would have been the bondmen of God sincere. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
37:170
فَكَفَرُوا۟ بِهِۦ ۖ فَسَوْفَ يَعْلَمُونَ
37:170
Yet they disbelieve therein. Presently they shall come to know. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
37:171
وَلَقَدْ سَبَقَتْ كَلِمَتُنَا لِعِبَادِنَا ٱلْمُرْسَلِينَ
37:171
And assuredly Our word hath already gone forth Our bondmen, the sent ones: - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
37:172
إِنَّهُمْ لَهُمُ ٱلْمَنصُورُونَ
37:172
That verily they! they shall be made triumphant. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
37:173
وَإِنَّ جُندَنَا لَهُمُ ٱلْغَـٰلِبُونَ
37:173
And verily Our host! they are to be overcome. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
37:174
فَتَوَلَّ عَنْهُمْ حَتَّىٰ حِينٍ
37:174
So turn thou aside from them for a season. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
37:175
وَأَبْصِرْهُمْ فَسَوْفَ يُبْصِرُونَ
37:175
And see them thou; they themselves shall presently see. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
37:176
أَفَبِعَذَابِنَا يَسْتَعْجِلُونَ
37:176
Our torment seek they to hasten on! - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
37:177
فَإِذَا نَزَلَ بِسَاحَتِهِمْ فَسَآءَ صَبَاحُ ٱلْمُنذَرِينَ
37:177
Then when it descendeth Unto them face to, face, a hapless morn that shall be for those who were Warned. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
37:178
وَتَوَلَّ عَنْهُمْ حَتَّىٰ حِينٍ
37:178
And turn thou aside from them for a season. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
37:179
وَأَبْصِرْ فَسَوْفَ يُبْصِرُونَ
37:179
And see thou: they themselves shall presently see. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
37:180
سُبْحَـٰنَ رَبِّكَ رَبِّ ٱلْعِزَّةِ عَمَّا يَصِفُونَ
37:180
Hallowed be thine Lord, the Lord of Majesty, from that which they ascribe! - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
37:181
وَسَلَـٰمٌ عَلَى ٱلْمُرْسَلِينَ
37:181
And peace be Unto the sent ones. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
37:182
وَٱلْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ رَبِّ ٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ
37:182
And all praise Unto Allah the Lord of the worlds. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
