بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful.
37:1 وَٱلصَّـٰٓفَّـٰتِ صَفًّا
37:1 By those [angels] lined up in rows - Saheeh International (English)
37:2 فَٱلزَّٰجِرَٰتِ زَجْرًا
37:2 And those who drive [the clouds] - Saheeh International (English)
37:3 فَٱلتَّـٰلِيَـٰتِ ذِكْرًا
37:3 And those who recite the message, - Saheeh International (English)
37:4 إِنَّ إِلَـٰهَكُمْ لَوَٰحِدٌ
37:4 Indeed, your God is One, - Saheeh International (English)
37:5 رَّبُّ ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَا وَرَبُّ ٱلْمَشَـٰرِقِ
37:5 Lord of the heavens and the earth and that between them and Lord of the sunrises. - Saheeh International (English)
37:6 إِنَّا زَيَّنَّا ٱلسَّمَآءَ ٱلدُّنْيَا بِزِينَةٍ ٱلْكَوَاكِبِ
37:6 Indeed, We have adorned the nearest heaven with an adornment of stars - Saheeh International (English)
37:7 وَحِفْظًا مِّن كُلِّ شَيْطَـٰنٍ مَّارِدٍ
37:7 And as protection against every rebellious devil - Saheeh International (English)
37:8 لَّا يَسَّمَّعُونَ إِلَى ٱلْمَلَإِ ٱلْأَعْلَىٰ وَيُقْذَفُونَ مِن كُلِّ جَانِبٍ
37:8 [So] they may not listen to the exalted assembly [of angels] and are pelted from every side, - Saheeh International (English)
37:9 دُحُورًا ۖ وَلَهُمْ عَذَابٌ وَاصِبٌ
37:9 Repelled; and for them is a constant punishment, - Saheeh International (English)
37:10 إِلَّا مَنْ خَطِفَ ٱلْخَطْفَةَ فَأَتْبَعَهُۥ شِهَابٌ ثَاقِبٌ
37:10 Except one who snatches [some words] by theft, but they are pursued by a burning flame, piercing [in brightness]. - Saheeh International (English)
37:11 فَٱسْتَفْتِهِمْ أَهُمْ أَشَدُّ خَلْقًا أَم مَّنْ خَلَقْنَآ ۚ إِنَّا خَلَقْنَـٰهُم مِّن طِينٍ لَّازِبٍۭ
37:11 Then inquire of them, [O Muhammad], "Are they a stronger [or more difficult] creation or those [others] We have created?" Indeed, We created men from sticky clay. - Saheeh International (English)
37:12 بَلْ عَجِبْتَ وَيَسْخَرُونَ
37:12 But you wonder, while they mock, - Saheeh International (English)
37:13 وَإِذَا ذُكِّرُوا۟ لَا يَذْكُرُونَ
37:13 And when they are reminded, they remember not. - Saheeh International (English)
37:14 وَإِذَا رَأَوْا۟ ءَايَةً يَسْتَسْخِرُونَ
37:14 And when they see a sign, they ridicule - Saheeh International (English)
37:15 وَقَالُوٓا۟ إِنْ هَـٰذَآ إِلَّا سِحْرٌ مُّبِينٌ
37:15 And say, "This is not but obvious magic. - Saheeh International (English)
37:16 أَءِذَا مِتْنَا وَكُنَّا تُرَابًا وَعِظَـٰمًا أَءِنَّا لَمَبْعُوثُونَ
37:16 When we have died and become dust and bones, are we indeed to be resurrected? - Saheeh International (English)
37:17 أَوَءَابَآؤُنَا ٱلْأَوَّلُونَ
37:17 And our forefathers [as well]?" - Saheeh International (English)
37:18 قُلْ نَعَمْ وَأَنتُمْ دَٰخِرُونَ
37:18 Say, "Yes, and you will be [rendered] contemptible." - Saheeh International (English)
37:19 فَإِنَّمَا هِىَ زَجْرَةٌ وَٰحِدَةٌ فَإِذَا هُمْ يَنظُرُونَ
37:19 It will be only one shout, and at once they will be observing. - Saheeh International (English)
37:20 وَقَالُوا۟ يَـٰوَيْلَنَا هَـٰذَا يَوْمُ ٱلدِّينِ
37:20 They will say, "O woe to us! This is the Day of Recompense." - Saheeh International (English)
37:21 هَـٰذَا يَوْمُ ٱلْفَصْلِ ٱلَّذِى كُنتُم بِهِۦ تُكَذِّبُونَ
37:21 [They will be told], "This is the Day of Judgement which you used to deny." - Saheeh International (English)
37:22 ۞ ٱحْشُرُوا۟ ٱلَّذِينَ ظَلَمُوا۟ وَأَزْوَٰجَهُمْ وَمَا كَانُوا۟ يَعْبُدُونَ
37:22 [The angels will be ordered], "Gather those who committed wrong, their kinds, and what they used to worship - Saheeh International (English)
37:23 مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ فَٱهْدُوهُمْ إِلَىٰ صِرَٰطِ ٱلْجَحِيمِ
37:23 Other than Allah, and guide them to the path of Hellfire - Saheeh International (English)
37:24 وَقِفُوهُمْ ۖ إِنَّهُم مَّسْـُٔولُونَ
37:24 And stop them; indeed, they are to be questioned." - Saheeh International (English)
37:25 مَا لَكُمْ لَا تَنَاصَرُونَ
37:25 [They will be asked], "What is [wrong] with you? Why do you not help each other?" - Saheeh International (English)
37:26 بَلْ هُمُ ٱلْيَوْمَ مُسْتَسْلِمُونَ
37:26 But they, that Day, are in surrender. - Saheeh International (English)
37:27 وَأَقْبَلَ بَعْضُهُمْ عَلَىٰ بَعْضٍ يَتَسَآءَلُونَ
37:27 And they will approach one another blaming each other. - Saheeh International (English)
37:28 قَالُوٓا۟ إِنَّكُمْ كُنتُمْ تَأْتُونَنَا عَنِ ٱلْيَمِينِ
37:28 They will say, "Indeed, you used to come at us from the right." - Saheeh International (English)
37:29 قَالُوا۟ بَل لَّمْ تَكُونُوا۟ مُؤْمِنِينَ
37:29 The oppressors will say, "Rather, you [yourselves] were not believers, - Saheeh International (English)
37:30 وَمَا كَانَ لَنَا عَلَيْكُم مِّن سُلْطَـٰنٍۭ ۖ بَلْ كُنتُمْ قَوْمًا طَـٰغِينَ
37:30 And we had over you no authority, but you were a transgressing people. - Saheeh International (English)
37:31 فَحَقَّ عَلَيْنَا قَوْلُ رَبِّنَآ ۖ إِنَّا لَذَآئِقُونَ
37:31 So the word of our Lord has come into effect upon us; indeed, we will taste [punishment]. - Saheeh International (English)
37:32 فَأَغْوَيْنَـٰكُمْ إِنَّا كُنَّا غَـٰوِينَ
37:32 And we led you to deviation; indeed, we were deviators." - Saheeh International (English)
37:33 فَإِنَّهُمْ يَوْمَئِذٍ فِى ٱلْعَذَابِ مُشْتَرِكُونَ
37:33 So indeed they, that Day, will be sharing in the punishment. - Saheeh International (English)
37:34 إِنَّا كَذَٰلِكَ نَفْعَلُ بِٱلْمُجْرِمِينَ
37:34 Indeed, that is how We deal with the criminals. - Saheeh International (English)
37:35 إِنَّهُمْ كَانُوٓا۟ إِذَا قِيلَ لَهُمْ لَآ إِلَـٰهَ إِلَّا ٱللَّهُ يَسْتَكْبِرُونَ
37:35 Indeed they, when it was said to them, "There is no deity but Allah," were arrogant - Saheeh International (English)
37:36 وَيَقُولُونَ أَئِنَّا لَتَارِكُوٓا۟ ءَالِهَتِنَا لِشَاعِرٍ مَّجْنُونٍۭ
37:36 And were saying, "Are we to leave our gods for a mad poet?" - Saheeh International (English)
37:37 بَلْ جَآءَ بِٱلْحَقِّ وَصَدَّقَ ٱلْمُرْسَلِينَ
37:37 Rather, the Prophet has come with the truth and confirmed the [previous] messengers. - Saheeh International (English)
37:38 إِنَّكُمْ لَذَآئِقُوا۟ ٱلْعَذَابِ ٱلْأَلِيمِ
37:38 Indeed, you [disbelievers] will be tasters of the painful punishment, - Saheeh International (English)
37:39 وَمَا تُجْزَوْنَ إِلَّا مَا كُنتُمْ تَعْمَلُونَ
37:39 And you will not be recompensed except for what you used to do - - Saheeh International (English)
37:40 إِلَّا عِبَادَ ٱللَّهِ ٱلْمُخْلَصِينَ
37:40 But not the chosen servants of Allah. - Saheeh International (English)
37:41 أُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَ لَهُمْ رِزْقٌ مَّعْلُومٌ
37:41 Those will have a provision determined - - Saheeh International (English)
37:42 فَوَٰكِهُ ۖ وَهُم مُّكْرَمُونَ
37:42 Fruits; and they will be honored - Saheeh International (English)
37:43 فِى جَنَّـٰتِ ٱلنَّعِيمِ
37:43 In gardens of pleasure - Saheeh International (English)
37:44 عَلَىٰ سُرُرٍ مُّتَقَـٰبِلِينَ
37:44 On thrones facing one another. - Saheeh International (English)
37:45 يُطَافُ عَلَيْهِم بِكَأْسٍ مِّن مَّعِينٍۭ
37:45 There will be circulated among them a cup [of wine] from a flowing spring, - Saheeh International (English)
37:46 بَيْضَآءَ لَذَّةٍ لِّلشَّـٰرِبِينَ
37:46 White and delicious to the drinkers; - Saheeh International (English)
37:47 لَا فِيهَا غَوْلٌ وَلَا هُمْ عَنْهَا يُنزَفُونَ
37:47 No bad effect is there in it, nor from it will they be intoxicated. - Saheeh International (English)
37:48 وَعِندَهُمْ قَـٰصِرَٰتُ ٱلطَّرْفِ عِينٌ
37:48 And with them will be women limiting [their] glances, with large, [beautiful] eyes, - Saheeh International (English)
37:49 كَأَنَّهُنَّ بَيْضٌ مَّكْنُونٌ
37:49 As if they were [delicate] eggs, well-protected. - Saheeh International (English)
37:50 فَأَقْبَلَ بَعْضُهُمْ عَلَىٰ بَعْضٍ يَتَسَآءَلُونَ
37:50 And they will approach one another, inquiring of each other. - Saheeh International (English)
37:51 قَالَ قَآئِلٌ مِّنْهُمْ إِنِّى كَانَ لِى قَرِينٌ
37:51 A speaker among them will say, "Indeed, I had a companion [on earth] - Saheeh International (English)
37:52 يَقُولُ أَءِنَّكَ لَمِنَ ٱلْمُصَدِّقِينَ
37:52 Who would say, 'Are you indeed of those who believe - Saheeh International (English)
37:53 أَءِذَا مِتْنَا وَكُنَّا تُرَابًا وَعِظَـٰمًا أَءِنَّا لَمَدِينُونَ
37:53 That when we have died and become dust and bones, we will indeed be recompensed?'" - Saheeh International (English)
37:54 قَالَ هَلْ أَنتُم مُّطَّلِعُونَ
37:54 He will say, "Would you [care to] look?" - Saheeh International (English)
37:55 فَٱطَّلَعَ فَرَءَاهُ فِى سَوَآءِ ٱلْجَحِيمِ
37:55 And he will look and see him in the midst of the Hellfire. - Saheeh International (English)
37:56 قَالَ تَٱللَّهِ إِن كِدتَّ لَتُرْدِينِ
37:56 He will say, "By Allah, you almost ruined me. - Saheeh International (English)
37:57 وَلَوْلَا نِعْمَةُ رَبِّى لَكُنتُ مِنَ ٱلْمُحْضَرِينَ
37:57 If not for the favor of my Lord, I would have been of those brought in [to Hell]. - Saheeh International (English)
37:58 أَفَمَا نَحْنُ بِمَيِّتِينَ
37:58 Then, are we not to die - Saheeh International (English)
37:59 إِلَّا مَوْتَتَنَا ٱلْأُولَىٰ وَمَا نَحْنُ بِمُعَذَّبِينَ
37:59 Except for our first death, and we will not be punished?" - Saheeh International (English)
37:60 إِنَّ هَـٰذَا لَهُوَ ٱلْفَوْزُ ٱلْعَظِيمُ
37:60 Indeed, this is the great attainment. - Saheeh International (English)
37:61 لِمِثْلِ هَـٰذَا فَلْيَعْمَلِ ٱلْعَـٰمِلُونَ
37:61 For the like of this let the workers [on earth] work. - Saheeh International (English)
37:62 أَذَٰلِكَ خَيْرٌ نُّزُلًا أَمْ شَجَرَةُ ٱلزَّقُّومِ
37:62 Is Paradise a better accommodation or the tree of zaqqum? - Saheeh International (English)
37:63 إِنَّا جَعَلْنَـٰهَا فِتْنَةً لِّلظَّـٰلِمِينَ
37:63 Indeed, We have made it a torment for the wrongdoers. - Saheeh International (English)
37:64 إِنَّهَا شَجَرَةٌ تَخْرُجُ فِىٓ أَصْلِ ٱلْجَحِيمِ
37:64 Indeed, it is a tree issuing from the bottom of the Hellfire, - Saheeh International (English)
37:65 طَلْعُهَا كَأَنَّهُۥ رُءُوسُ ٱلشَّيَـٰطِينِ
37:65 Its emerging fruit as if it was heads of the devils. - Saheeh International (English)
37:66 فَإِنَّهُمْ لَـَٔاكِلُونَ مِنْهَا فَمَالِـُٔونَ مِنْهَا ٱلْبُطُونَ
37:66 And indeed, they will eat from it and fill with it their bellies. - Saheeh International (English)
37:67 ثُمَّ إِنَّ لَهُمْ عَلَيْهَا لَشَوْبًا مِّنْ حَمِيمٍ
37:67 Then indeed, they will have after it a mixture of scalding water. - Saheeh International (English)
37:68 ثُمَّ إِنَّ مَرْجِعَهُمْ لَإِلَى ٱلْجَحِيمِ
37:68 Then indeed, their return will be to the Hellfire. - Saheeh International (English)
37:69 إِنَّهُمْ أَلْفَوْا۟ ءَابَآءَهُمْ ضَآلِّينَ
37:69 Indeed they found their fathers astray. - Saheeh International (English)
37:70 فَهُمْ عَلَىٰٓ ءَاثَـٰرِهِمْ يُهْرَعُونَ
37:70 So they hastened [to follow] in their footsteps. - Saheeh International (English)
37:71 وَلَقَدْ ضَلَّ قَبْلَهُمْ أَكْثَرُ ٱلْأَوَّلِينَ
37:71 And there had already strayed before them most of the former peoples, - Saheeh International (English)
37:72 وَلَقَدْ أَرْسَلْنَا فِيهِم مُّنذِرِينَ
37:72 And We had already sent among them warners. - Saheeh International (English)
37:73 فَٱنظُرْ كَيْفَ كَانَ عَـٰقِبَةُ ٱلْمُنذَرِينَ
37:73 Then look how was the end of those who were warned - - Saheeh International (English)
37:74 إِلَّا عِبَادَ ٱللَّهِ ٱلْمُخْلَصِينَ
37:74 But not the chosen servants of Allah. - Saheeh International (English)
37:75 وَلَقَدْ نَادَىٰنَا نُوحٌ فَلَنِعْمَ ٱلْمُجِيبُونَ
37:75 And Noah had certainly called Us, and [We are] the best of responders. - Saheeh International (English)
37:76 وَنَجَّيْنَـٰهُ وَأَهْلَهُۥ مِنَ ٱلْكَرْبِ ٱلْعَظِيمِ
37:76 And We saved him and his family from the great affliction. - Saheeh International (English)
37:77 وَجَعَلْنَا ذُرِّيَّتَهُۥ هُمُ ٱلْبَاقِينَ
37:77 And We made his descendants those remaining [on the earth] - Saheeh International (English)
37:78 وَتَرَكْنَا عَلَيْهِ فِى ٱلْـَٔاخِرِينَ
37:78 And left for him [favorable mention] among later generations: - Saheeh International (English)
37:79 سَلَـٰمٌ عَلَىٰ نُوحٍ فِى ٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ
37:79 "Peace upon Noah among the worlds." - Saheeh International (English)
37:80 إِنَّا كَذَٰلِكَ نَجْزِى ٱلْمُحْسِنِينَ
37:80 Indeed, We thus reward the doers of good. - Saheeh International (English)
37:81 إِنَّهُۥ مِنْ عِبَادِنَا ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ
37:81 Indeed, he was of Our believing servants. - Saheeh International (English)
37:82 ثُمَّ أَغْرَقْنَا ٱلْـَٔاخَرِينَ
37:82 Then We drowned the disbelievers. - Saheeh International (English)
37:83 ۞ وَإِنَّ مِن شِيعَتِهِۦ لَإِبْرَٰهِيمَ
37:83 And indeed, among his kind was Abraham, - Saheeh International (English)
37:84 إِذْ جَآءَ رَبَّهُۥ بِقَلْبٍ سَلِيمٍ
37:84 When he came to his Lord with a sound heart - Saheeh International (English)
37:85 إِذْ قَالَ لِأَبِيهِ وَقَوْمِهِۦ مَاذَا تَعْبُدُونَ
37:85 [And] when he said to his father and his people, "What do you worship? - Saheeh International (English)
37:86 أَئِفْكًا ءَالِهَةً دُونَ ٱللَّهِ تُرِيدُونَ
37:86 Is it falsehood [as] gods other than Allah you desire? - Saheeh International (English)
37:87 فَمَا ظَنُّكُم بِرَبِّ ٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ
37:87 Then what is your thought about the Lord of the worlds?" - Saheeh International (English)
37:88 فَنَظَرَ نَظْرَةً فِى ٱلنُّجُومِ
37:88 And he cast a look at the stars - Saheeh International (English)
37:89 فَقَالَ إِنِّى سَقِيمٌ
37:89 And said, "Indeed, I am [about to be] ill." - Saheeh International (English)
37:90 فَتَوَلَّوْا۟ عَنْهُ مُدْبِرِينَ
37:90 So they turned away from him, departing. - Saheeh International (English)
37:91 فَرَاغَ إِلَىٰٓ ءَالِهَتِهِمْ فَقَالَ أَلَا تَأْكُلُونَ
37:91 Then he turned to their gods and said, "Do you not eat? - Saheeh International (English)
37:92 مَا لَكُمْ لَا تَنطِقُونَ
37:92 What is [wrong] with you that you do not speak?" - Saheeh International (English)
37:93 فَرَاغَ عَلَيْهِمْ ضَرْبًۢا بِٱلْيَمِينِ
37:93 And he turned upon them a blow with [his] right hand. - Saheeh International (English)
37:94 فَأَقْبَلُوٓا۟ إِلَيْهِ يَزِفُّونَ
37:94 Then the people came toward him, hastening. - Saheeh International (English)
37:95 قَالَ أَتَعْبُدُونَ مَا تَنْحِتُونَ
37:95 He said, "Do you worship that which you [yourselves] carve, - Saheeh International (English)
37:96 وَٱللَّهُ خَلَقَكُمْ وَمَا تَعْمَلُونَ
37:96 While Allah created you and that which you do?" - Saheeh International (English)
37:97 قَالُوا۟ ٱبْنُوا۟ لَهُۥ بُنْيَـٰنًا فَأَلْقُوهُ فِى ٱلْجَحِيمِ
37:97 They said, "Construct for him a furnace and throw him into the burning fire." - Saheeh International (English)
37:98 فَأَرَادُوا۟ بِهِۦ كَيْدًا فَجَعَلْنَـٰهُمُ ٱلْأَسْفَلِينَ
37:98 And they intended for him a plan, but We made them the most debased. - Saheeh International (English)
37:99 وَقَالَ إِنِّى ذَاهِبٌ إِلَىٰ رَبِّى سَيَهْدِينِ
37:99 And [then] he said, "Indeed, I will go to [where I am ordered by] my Lord; He will guide me. - Saheeh International (English)
37:100 رَبِّ هَبْ لِى مِنَ ٱلصَّـٰلِحِينَ
37:100 My Lord, grant me [a child] from among the righteous." - Saheeh International (English)
37:101 فَبَشَّرْنَـٰهُ بِغُلَـٰمٍ حَلِيمٍ
37:101 So We gave him good tidings of a forbearing boy. - Saheeh International (English)
37:102 فَلَمَّا بَلَغَ مَعَهُ ٱلسَّعْىَ قَالَ يَـٰبُنَىَّ إِنِّىٓ أَرَىٰ فِى ٱلْمَنَامِ أَنِّىٓ أَذْبَحُكَ فَٱنظُرْ مَاذَا تَرَىٰ ۚ قَالَ يَـٰٓأَبَتِ ٱفْعَلْ مَا تُؤْمَرُ ۖ سَتَجِدُنِىٓ إِن شَآءَ ٱللَّهُ مِنَ ٱلصَّـٰبِرِينَ
37:102 And when he reached with him [the age of] exertion, he said, "O my son, indeed I have seen in a dream that I [must] sacrifice you, so see what you think." He said, "O my father, do as you are commanded. You will find me, if Allah wills, of the steadfast." - Saheeh International (English)
37:103 فَلَمَّآ أَسْلَمَا وَتَلَّهُۥ لِلْجَبِينِ
37:103 And when they had both submitted and he put him down upon his forehead, - Saheeh International (English)
37:104 وَنَـٰدَيْنَـٰهُ أَن يَـٰٓإِبْرَٰهِيمُ
37:104 We called to him, "O Abraham, - Saheeh International (English)
37:105 قَدْ صَدَّقْتَ ٱلرُّءْيَآ ۚ إِنَّا كَذَٰلِكَ نَجْزِى ٱلْمُحْسِنِينَ
37:105 You have fulfilled the vision." Indeed, We thus reward the doers of good. - Saheeh International (English)
37:106 إِنَّ هَـٰذَا لَهُوَ ٱلْبَلَـٰٓؤُا۟ ٱلْمُبِينُ
37:106 Indeed, this was the clear trial. - Saheeh International (English)
37:107 وَفَدَيْنَـٰهُ بِذِبْحٍ عَظِيمٍ
37:107 And We ransomed him with a great sacrifice, - Saheeh International (English)
37:108 وَتَرَكْنَا عَلَيْهِ فِى ٱلْـَٔاخِرِينَ
37:108 And We left for him [favorable mention] among later generations: - Saheeh International (English)
37:109 سَلَـٰمٌ عَلَىٰٓ إِبْرَٰهِيمَ
37:109 "Peace upon Abraham." - Saheeh International (English)
37:110 كَذَٰلِكَ نَجْزِى ٱلْمُحْسِنِينَ
37:110 Indeed, We thus reward the doers of good. - Saheeh International (English)
37:111 إِنَّهُۥ مِنْ عِبَادِنَا ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ
37:111 Indeed, he was of Our believing servants. - Saheeh International (English)
37:112 وَبَشَّرْنَـٰهُ بِإِسْحَـٰقَ نَبِيًّا مِّنَ ٱلصَّـٰلِحِينَ
37:112 And We gave him good tidings of Isaac, a prophet from among the righteous. - Saheeh International (English)
37:113 وَبَـٰرَكْنَا عَلَيْهِ وَعَلَىٰٓ إِسْحَـٰقَ ۚ وَمِن ذُرِّيَّتِهِمَا مُحْسِنٌ وَظَالِمٌ لِّنَفْسِهِۦ مُبِينٌ
37:113 And We blessed him and Isaac. But among their descendants is the doer of good and the clearly unjust to himself. - Saheeh International (English)
37:114 وَلَقَدْ مَنَنَّا عَلَىٰ مُوسَىٰ وَهَـٰرُونَ
37:114 And We did certainly confer favor upon Moses and Aaron. - Saheeh International (English)
37:115 وَنَجَّيْنَـٰهُمَا وَقَوْمَهُمَا مِنَ ٱلْكَرْبِ ٱلْعَظِيمِ
37:115 And We saved them and their people from the great affliction, - Saheeh International (English)
37:116 وَنَصَرْنَـٰهُمْ فَكَانُوا۟ هُمُ ٱلْغَـٰلِبِينَ
37:116 And We supported them so it was they who overcame. - Saheeh International (English)
37:117 وَءَاتَيْنَـٰهُمَا ٱلْكِتَـٰبَ ٱلْمُسْتَبِينَ
37:117 And We gave them the explicit Scripture, - Saheeh International (English)
37:118 وَهَدَيْنَـٰهُمَا ٱلصِّرَٰطَ ٱلْمُسْتَقِيمَ
37:118 And We guided them on the straight path. - Saheeh International (English)
37:119 وَتَرَكْنَا عَلَيْهِمَا فِى ٱلْـَٔاخِرِينَ
37:119 And We left for them [favorable mention] among later generations: - Saheeh International (English)
37:120 سَلَـٰمٌ عَلَىٰ مُوسَىٰ وَهَـٰرُونَ
37:120 "Peace upon Moses and Aaron." - Saheeh International (English)
37:121 إِنَّا كَذَٰلِكَ نَجْزِى ٱلْمُحْسِنِينَ
37:121 Indeed, We thus reward the doers of good. - Saheeh International (English)
37:122 إِنَّهُمَا مِنْ عِبَادِنَا ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ
37:122 Indeed, they were of Our believing servants. - Saheeh International (English)
37:123 وَإِنَّ إِلْيَاسَ لَمِنَ ٱلْمُرْسَلِينَ
37:123 And indeed, Elias was from among the messengers, - Saheeh International (English)
37:124 إِذْ قَالَ لِقَوْمِهِۦٓ أَلَا تَتَّقُونَ
37:124 When he said to his people, "Will you not fear Allah? - Saheeh International (English)
37:125 أَتَدْعُونَ بَعْلًا وَتَذَرُونَ أَحْسَنَ ٱلْخَـٰلِقِينَ
37:125 Do you call upon Ba'l and leave the best of creators - - Saheeh International (English)
37:126 ٱللَّهَ رَبَّكُمْ وَرَبَّ ءَابَآئِكُمُ ٱلْأَوَّلِينَ
37:126 Allah, your Lord and the Lord of your first forefathers?" - Saheeh International (English)
37:127 فَكَذَّبُوهُ فَإِنَّهُمْ لَمُحْضَرُونَ
37:127 And they denied him, so indeed, they will be brought [for punishment], - Saheeh International (English)
37:128 إِلَّا عِبَادَ ٱللَّهِ ٱلْمُخْلَصِينَ
37:128 Except the chosen servants of Allah. - Saheeh International (English)
37:129 وَتَرَكْنَا عَلَيْهِ فِى ٱلْـَٔاخِرِينَ
37:129 And We left for him [favorable mention] among later generations: - Saheeh International (English)
37:130 سَلَـٰمٌ عَلَىٰٓ إِلْ يَاسِينَ
37:130 "Peace upon Elias." - Saheeh International (English)
37:131 إِنَّا كَذَٰلِكَ نَجْزِى ٱلْمُحْسِنِينَ
37:131 Indeed, We thus reward the doers of good. - Saheeh International (English)
37:132 إِنَّهُۥ مِنْ عِبَادِنَا ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ
37:132 Indeed, he was of Our believing servants. - Saheeh International (English)
37:133 وَإِنَّ لُوطًا لَّمِنَ ٱلْمُرْسَلِينَ
37:133 And indeed, Lot was among the messengers. - Saheeh International (English)
37:134 إِذْ نَجَّيْنَـٰهُ وَأَهْلَهُۥٓ أَجْمَعِينَ
37:134 [So mention] when We saved him and his family, all, - Saheeh International (English)
37:135 إِلَّا عَجُوزًا فِى ٱلْغَـٰبِرِينَ
37:135 Except his wife among those who remained [with the evildoers]. - Saheeh International (English)
37:136 ثُمَّ دَمَّرْنَا ٱلْـَٔاخَرِينَ
37:136 Then We destroyed the others. - Saheeh International (English)
37:137 وَإِنَّكُمْ لَتَمُرُّونَ عَلَيْهِم مُّصْبِحِينَ
37:137 And indeed, you pass by them in the morning - Saheeh International (English)
37:138 وَبِٱلَّيْلِ ۗ أَفَلَا تَعْقِلُونَ
37:138 And at night. Then will you not use reason? - Saheeh International (English)
37:139 وَإِنَّ يُونُسَ لَمِنَ ٱلْمُرْسَلِينَ
37:139 And indeed, Jonah was among the messengers. - Saheeh International (English)
37:140 إِذْ أَبَقَ إِلَى ٱلْفُلْكِ ٱلْمَشْحُونِ
37:140 [Mention] when he ran away to the laden ship. - Saheeh International (English)
37:141 فَسَاهَمَ فَكَانَ مِنَ ٱلْمُدْحَضِينَ
37:141 And he drew lots and was among the losers. - Saheeh International (English)
37:142 فَٱلْتَقَمَهُ ٱلْحُوتُ وَهُوَ مُلِيمٌ
37:142 Then the fish swallowed him, while he was blameworthy. - Saheeh International (English)
37:143 فَلَوْلَآ أَنَّهُۥ كَانَ مِنَ ٱلْمُسَبِّحِينَ
37:143 And had he not been of those who exalt Allah, - Saheeh International (English)
37:144 لَلَبِثَ فِى بَطْنِهِۦٓ إِلَىٰ يَوْمِ يُبْعَثُونَ
37:144 He would have remained inside its belly until the Day they are resurrected. - Saheeh International (English)
37:145 ۞ فَنَبَذْنَـٰهُ بِٱلْعَرَآءِ وَهُوَ سَقِيمٌ
37:145 But We threw him onto the open shore while he was ill. - Saheeh International (English)
37:146 وَأَنۢبَتْنَا عَلَيْهِ شَجَرَةً مِّن يَقْطِينٍ
37:146 And We caused to grow over him a gourd vine. - Saheeh International (English)
37:147 وَأَرْسَلْنَـٰهُ إِلَىٰ مِا۟ئَةِ أَلْفٍ أَوْ يَزِيدُونَ
37:147 And We sent him to [his people of] a hundred thousand or more. - Saheeh International (English)
37:148 فَـَٔامَنُوا۟ فَمَتَّعْنَـٰهُمْ إِلَىٰ حِينٍ
37:148 And they believed, so We gave them enjoyment [of life] for a time. - Saheeh International (English)
37:149 فَٱسْتَفْتِهِمْ أَلِرَبِّكَ ٱلْبَنَاتُ وَلَهُمُ ٱلْبَنُونَ
37:149 So inquire of them, [O Muhammad], "Does your Lord have daughters while they have sons? - Saheeh International (English)
37:150 أَمْ خَلَقْنَا ٱلْمَلَـٰٓئِكَةَ إِنَـٰثًا وَهُمْ شَـٰهِدُونَ
37:150 Or did We create the angels as females while they were witnesses?" - Saheeh International (English)
37:151 أَلَآ إِنَّهُم مِّنْ إِفْكِهِمْ لَيَقُولُونَ
37:151 Unquestionably, it is out of their [invented] falsehood that they say, - Saheeh International (English)
37:152 وَلَدَ ٱللَّهُ وَإِنَّهُمْ لَكَـٰذِبُونَ
37:152 " Allah has begotten," and indeed, they are liars. - Saheeh International (English)
37:153 أَصْطَفَى ٱلْبَنَاتِ عَلَى ٱلْبَنِينَ
37:153 Has He chosen daughters over sons? - Saheeh International (English)
37:154 مَا لَكُمْ كَيْفَ تَحْكُمُونَ
37:154 What is [wrong] with you? How do you make judgement? - Saheeh International (English)
37:155 أَفَلَا تَذَكَّرُونَ
37:155 Then will you not be reminded? - Saheeh International (English)
37:156 أَمْ لَكُمْ سُلْطَـٰنٌ مُّبِينٌ
37:156 Or do you have a clear authority? - Saheeh International (English)
37:157 فَأْتُوا۟ بِكِتَـٰبِكُمْ إِن كُنتُمْ صَـٰدِقِينَ
37:157 Then produce your scripture, if you should be truthful. - Saheeh International (English)
37:158 وَجَعَلُوا۟ بَيْنَهُۥ وَبَيْنَ ٱلْجِنَّةِ نَسَبًا ۚ وَلَقَدْ عَلِمَتِ ٱلْجِنَّةُ إِنَّهُمْ لَمُحْضَرُونَ
37:158 And they have claimed between Him and the jinn a lineage, but the jinn have already known that they [who made such claims] will be brought to [punishment]. - Saheeh International (English)
37:159 سُبْحَـٰنَ ٱللَّهِ عَمَّا يَصِفُونَ
37:159 Exalted is Allah above what they describe, - Saheeh International (English)
37:160 إِلَّا عِبَادَ ٱللَّهِ ٱلْمُخْلَصِينَ
37:160 Except the chosen servants of Allah [who do not share in that sin]. - Saheeh International (English)
37:161 فَإِنَّكُمْ وَمَا تَعْبُدُونَ
37:161 So indeed, you [disbelievers] and whatever you worship, - Saheeh International (English)
37:162 مَآ أَنتُمْ عَلَيْهِ بِفَـٰتِنِينَ
37:162 You cannot tempt [anyone] away from Him - Saheeh International (English)
37:163 إِلَّا مَنْ هُوَ صَالِ ٱلْجَحِيمِ
37:163 Except he who is to [enter and] burn in the Hellfire. - Saheeh International (English)
37:164 وَمَا مِنَّآ إِلَّا لَهُۥ مَقَامٌ مَّعْلُومٌ
37:164 [The angels say], "There is not among us any except that he has a known position. - Saheeh International (English)
37:165 وَإِنَّا لَنَحْنُ ٱلصَّآفُّونَ
37:165 And indeed, we are those who line up [for prayer]. - Saheeh International (English)
37:166 وَإِنَّا لَنَحْنُ ٱلْمُسَبِّحُونَ
37:166 And indeed, we are those who exalt Allah." - Saheeh International (English)
37:167 وَإِن كَانُوا۟ لَيَقُولُونَ
37:167 And indeed, the disbelievers used to say, - Saheeh International (English)
37:168 لَوْ أَنَّ عِندَنَا ذِكْرًا مِّنَ ٱلْأَوَّلِينَ
37:168 "If we had a message from [those of] the former peoples, - Saheeh International (English)
37:169 لَكُنَّا عِبَادَ ٱللَّهِ ٱلْمُخْلَصِينَ
37:169 We would have been the chosen servants of Allah." - Saheeh International (English)
37:170 فَكَفَرُوا۟ بِهِۦ ۖ فَسَوْفَ يَعْلَمُونَ
37:170 But they disbelieved in it, so they are going to know. - Saheeh International (English)
37:171 وَلَقَدْ سَبَقَتْ كَلِمَتُنَا لِعِبَادِنَا ٱلْمُرْسَلِينَ
37:171 And Our word has already preceded for Our servants, the messengers, - Saheeh International (English)
37:172 إِنَّهُمْ لَهُمُ ٱلْمَنصُورُونَ
37:172 [That] indeed, they would be those given victory - Saheeh International (English)
37:173 وَإِنَّ جُندَنَا لَهُمُ ٱلْغَـٰلِبُونَ
37:173 And [that] indeed, Our soldiers will be those who overcome. - Saheeh International (English)
37:174 فَتَوَلَّ عَنْهُمْ حَتَّىٰ حِينٍ
37:174 So, [O Muhammad], leave them for a time. - Saheeh International (English)
37:175 وَأَبْصِرْهُمْ فَسَوْفَ يُبْصِرُونَ
37:175 And see [what will befall] them, for they are going to see. - Saheeh International (English)
37:176 أَفَبِعَذَابِنَا يَسْتَعْجِلُونَ
37:176 Then for Our punishment are they impatient? - Saheeh International (English)
37:177 فَإِذَا نَزَلَ بِسَاحَتِهِمْ فَسَآءَ صَبَاحُ ٱلْمُنذَرِينَ
37:177 But when it descends in their territory, then evil is the morning of those who were warned. - Saheeh International (English)
37:178 وَتَوَلَّ عَنْهُمْ حَتَّىٰ حِينٍ
37:178 And leave them for a time. - Saheeh International (English)
37:179 وَأَبْصِرْ فَسَوْفَ يُبْصِرُونَ
37:179 And see, for they are going to see. - Saheeh International (English)
37:180 سُبْحَـٰنَ رَبِّكَ رَبِّ ٱلْعِزَّةِ عَمَّا يَصِفُونَ
37:180 Exalted is your Lord, the Lord of might, above what they describe. - Saheeh International (English)
37:181 وَسَلَـٰمٌ عَلَى ٱلْمُرْسَلِينَ
37:181 And peace upon the messengers. - Saheeh International (English)
37:182 وَٱلْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ رَبِّ ٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ
37:182 And praise to Allah, Lord of the worlds. - Saheeh International (English)
