بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful.
37:1 وَٱلصَّـٰٓفَّـٰتِ صَفًّا
37:1 By the [angels] ranged in ranks, - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
37:2 فَٱلزَّٰجِرَٰتِ زَجْرًا
37:2 by the ones who drive [the clouds] vigorously, - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
37:3 فَٱلتَّـٰلِيَـٰتِ ذِكْرًا
37:3 by the ones who recite the reminder: - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
37:4 إِنَّ إِلَـٰهَكُمْ لَوَٰحِدٌ
37:4 indeed your God is certainly One, - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
37:5 رَّبُّ ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَا وَرَبُّ ٱلْمَشَـٰرِقِ
37:5 the Lord of the heavens and the earth and whatever is between them, and the Lord of the easts. - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
37:6 إِنَّا زَيَّنَّا ٱلسَّمَآءَ ٱلدُّنْيَا بِزِينَةٍ ٱلْكَوَاكِبِ
37:6 Indeed We have adorned the lowest heaven with the finery of the stars, - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
37:7 وَحِفْظًا مِّن كُلِّ شَيْطَـٰنٍ مَّارِدٍ
37:7 and to guard from any froward devil. - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
37:8 لَّا يَسَّمَّعُونَ إِلَى ٱلْمَلَإِ ٱلْأَعْلَىٰ وَيُقْذَفُونَ مِن كُلِّ جَانِبٍ
37:8 They do not eavesdrop on the Supernal Elite—they are shot at from every side, - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
37:9 دُحُورًا ۖ وَلَهُمْ عَذَابٌ وَاصِبٌ
37:9 to drive them away, and there is a perpetual punishment for them— - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
37:10 إِلَّا مَنْ خَطِفَ ٱلْخَطْفَةَ فَأَتْبَعَهُۥ شِهَابٌ ثَاقِبٌ
37:10 except any who snatches a snatch, whereat a piercing flame pursues him. - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
37:11 فَٱسْتَفْتِهِمْ أَهُمْ أَشَدُّ خَلْقًا أَم مَّنْ خَلَقْنَآ ۚ إِنَّا خَلَقْنَـٰهُم مِّن طِينٍ لَّازِبٍۭ
37:11 Ask them, is their creation more prodigious or [that of other creatures] that We have created? Indeed, We created them from a viscous clay. - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
37:12 بَلْ عَجِبْتَ وَيَسْخَرُونَ
37:12 Indeed you wonder, while they engage in ridicule, - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
37:13 وَإِذَا ذُكِّرُوا۟ لَا يَذْكُرُونَ
37:13 and [even] when admonished do not take admonition, - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
37:14 وَإِذَا رَأَوْا۟ ءَايَةً يَسْتَسْخِرُونَ
37:14 and when they see a sign they make it an object of ridicule, - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
37:15 وَقَالُوٓا۟ إِنْ هَـٰذَآ إِلَّا سِحْرٌ مُّبِينٌ
37:15 and say, ‘This is nothing but plain magic!’ - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
37:16 أَءِذَا مِتْنَا وَكُنَّا تُرَابًا وَعِظَـٰمًا أَءِنَّا لَمَبْعُوثُونَ
37:16 ‘What! When we are dead and have become dust and bones, shall we be resurrected? - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
37:17 أَوَءَابَآؤُنَا ٱلْأَوَّلُونَ
37:17 And our forefathers too?!’ - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
37:18 قُلْ نَعَمْ وَأَنتُمْ دَٰخِرُونَ
37:18 Say, ‘Yes! And you will be utterly humble.’ - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
37:19 فَإِنَّمَا هِىَ زَجْرَةٌ وَٰحِدَةٌ فَإِذَا هُمْ يَنظُرُونَ
37:19 It will be only a single shout and, behold, they will look on, - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
37:20 وَقَالُوا۟ يَـٰوَيْلَنَا هَـٰذَا يَوْمُ ٱلدِّينِ
37:20 and say, ‘Woe to us! This is the Day of Retribution!’ - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
37:21 هَـٰذَا يَوْمُ ٱلْفَصْلِ ٱلَّذِى كُنتُم بِهِۦ تُكَذِّبُونَ
37:21 ‘This is the Day of Judgement that you used to deny!’ - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
37:22 ۞ ٱحْشُرُوا۟ ٱلَّذِينَ ظَلَمُوا۟ وَأَزْوَٰجَهُمْ وَمَا كَانُوا۟ يَعْبُدُونَ
37:22 ‘Muster the wrongdoers and their mates and what they used to worship - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
37:23 مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ فَٱهْدُوهُمْ إِلَىٰ صِرَٰطِ ٱلْجَحِيمِ
37:23 besides Allah, and show them the way to hell! - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
37:24 وَقِفُوهُمْ ۖ إِنَّهُم مَّسْـُٔولُونَ
37:24 [But first] stop them! For they must be questioned.’ - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
37:25 مَا لَكُمْ لَا تَنَاصَرُونَ
37:25 ‘Why is it that you do not support one another [today]?’ - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
37:26 بَلْ هُمُ ٱلْيَوْمَ مُسْتَسْلِمُونَ
37:26 ‘Indeed, they are [meek and] submissive today!’ - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
37:27 وَأَقْبَلَ بَعْضُهُمْ عَلَىٰ بَعْضٍ يَتَسَآءَلُونَ
37:27 Some of them will turn to others, questioning each other. - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
37:28 قَالُوٓا۟ إِنَّكُمْ كُنتُمْ تَأْتُونَنَا عَنِ ٱلْيَمِينِ
37:28 They will say, ‘Indeed you used to accost us peremptorily.’ - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
37:29 قَالُوا۟ بَل لَّمْ تَكُونُوا۟ مُؤْمِنِينَ
37:29 They will answer, ‘No, you [yourselves] had no faith. - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
37:30 وَمَا كَانَ لَنَا عَلَيْكُم مِّن سُلْطَـٰنٍۭ ۖ بَلْ كُنتُمْ قَوْمًا طَـٰغِينَ
37:30 We had no authority over you. No, you [yourselves] were a rebellious lot. - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
37:31 فَحَقَّ عَلَيْنَا قَوْلُ رَبِّنَآ ۖ إِنَّا لَذَآئِقُونَ
37:31 So our Lord’s word became due against us that we shall indeed taste [the punishment]. - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
37:32 فَأَغْوَيْنَـٰكُمْ إِنَّا كُنَّا غَـٰوِينَ
37:32 So we perverted you, for we were perverse [ourselves].’ - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
37:33 فَإِنَّهُمْ يَوْمَئِذٍ فِى ٱلْعَذَابِ مُشْتَرِكُونَ
37:33 So, that day they will share the punishment. - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
37:34 إِنَّا كَذَٰلِكَ نَفْعَلُ بِٱلْمُجْرِمِينَ
37:34 Indeed, that is how We deal with the guilty. - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
37:35 إِنَّهُمْ كَانُوٓا۟ إِذَا قِيلَ لَهُمْ لَآ إِلَـٰهَ إِلَّا ٱللَّهُ يَسْتَكْبِرُونَ
37:35 Indeed, it was they who, when they were told, ‘There is no god except Allah,’ used to be disdainful, - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
37:36 وَيَقُولُونَ أَئِنَّا لَتَارِكُوٓا۟ ءَالِهَتِنَا لِشَاعِرٍ مَّجْنُونٍۭ
37:36 and [they would] say, ‘Shall we abandon our gods for a crazy poet?’ - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
37:37 بَلْ جَآءَ بِٱلْحَقِّ وَصَدَّقَ ٱلْمُرْسَلِينَ
37:37 Indeed, he has brought [them] the truth, and confirmed the [earlier] apostles. - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
37:38 إِنَّكُمْ لَذَآئِقُوا۟ ٱلْعَذَابِ ٱلْأَلِيمِ
37:38 Indeed you will taste the painful punishment, - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
37:39 وَمَا تُجْزَوْنَ إِلَّا مَا كُنتُمْ تَعْمَلُونَ
37:39 and you will be requited only for what you used to do - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
37:40 إِلَّا عِبَادَ ٱللَّهِ ٱلْمُخْلَصِينَ
37:40 —[all] except Allah’s exclusive servants. - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
37:41 أُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَ لَهُمْ رِزْقٌ مَّعْلُومٌ
37:41 For such there is a known provision - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
37:42 فَوَٰكِهُ ۖ وَهُم مُّكْرَمُونَ
37:42 —fruits—and they will be held in honour, - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
37:43 فِى جَنَّـٰتِ ٱلنَّعِيمِ
37:43 in the gardens of bliss, - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
37:44 عَلَىٰ سُرُرٍ مُّتَقَـٰبِلِينَ
37:44 [reclining] on couches, facing one another, - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
37:45 يُطَافُ عَلَيْهِم بِكَأْسٍ مِّن مَّعِينٍۭ
37:45 served around with a cup, from a clear fountain, - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
37:46 بَيْضَآءَ لَذَّةٍ لِّلشَّـٰرِبِينَ
37:46 snow-white, delicious to the drinkers, - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
37:47 لَا فِيهَا غَوْلٌ وَلَا هُمْ عَنْهَا يُنزَفُونَ
37:47 wherein there will be neither headache nor will it cause them stupefaction, - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
37:48 وَعِندَهُمْ قَـٰصِرَٰتُ ٱلطَّرْفِ عِينٌ
37:48 and with them will be maidens, of restrained glances with big [beautiful] eyes, - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
37:49 كَأَنَّهُنَّ بَيْضٌ مَّكْنُونٌ
37:49 as if they were hidden ostrich eggs. - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
37:50 فَأَقْبَلَ بَعْضُهُمْ عَلَىٰ بَعْضٍ يَتَسَآءَلُونَ
37:50 Some of them will turn to others, questioning each other. - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
37:51 قَالَ قَآئِلٌ مِّنْهُمْ إِنِّى كَانَ لِى قَرِينٌ
37:51 One of them will say, ‘Indeed I had a companion - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
37:52 يَقُولُ أَءِنَّكَ لَمِنَ ٱلْمُصَدِّقِينَ
37:52 who used to say, ‘‘Are you really among those who affirm - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
37:53 أَءِذَا مِتْنَا وَكُنَّا تُرَابًا وَعِظَـٰمًا أَءِنَّا لَمَدِينُونَ
37:53 that when we have died and become dust and bones, we shall be brought to retribution?’’ ’ - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
37:54 قَالَ هَلْ أَنتُم مُّطَّلِعُونَ
37:54 He will say, ‘Will you have a look?’ - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
37:55 فَٱطَّلَعَ فَرَءَاهُ فِى سَوَآءِ ٱلْجَحِيمِ
37:55 Then he will take a look and sight him in the middle of hell. - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
37:56 قَالَ تَٱللَّهِ إِن كِدتَّ لَتُرْدِينِ
37:56 He will say, ‘By Allah, you had almost ruined me! - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
37:57 وَلَوْلَا نِعْمَةُ رَبِّى لَكُنتُ مِنَ ٱلْمُحْضَرِينَ
37:57 Had it not been for my Lord’s blessing, I too would have been among those mustered [in hell]!’ - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
37:58 أَفَمَا نَحْنُ بِمَيِّتِينَ
37:58 ‘Is it [true] that we shall not die [anymore], - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
37:59 إِلَّا مَوْتَتَنَا ٱلْأُولَىٰ وَمَا نَحْنُ بِمُعَذَّبِينَ
37:59 aside from our earlier death, and that we shall not be punished? - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
37:60 إِنَّ هَـٰذَا لَهُوَ ٱلْفَوْزُ ٱلْعَظِيمُ
37:60 This is indeed the supreme triumph!’ - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
37:61 لِمِثْلِ هَـٰذَا فَلْيَعْمَلِ ٱلْعَـٰمِلُونَ
37:61 Let all workers work for the like of this! - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
37:62 أَذَٰلِكَ خَيْرٌ نُّزُلًا أَمْ شَجَرَةُ ٱلزَّقُّومِ
37:62 Is this a better reception, or the Zaqqum tree? - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
37:63 إِنَّا جَعَلْنَـٰهَا فِتْنَةً لِّلظَّـٰلِمِينَ
37:63 Indeed We have made it a punishment for the wrongdoers. - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
37:64 إِنَّهَا شَجَرَةٌ تَخْرُجُ فِىٓ أَصْلِ ٱلْجَحِيمِ
37:64 It is a tree that rises from the depths of hell. - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
37:65 طَلْعُهَا كَأَنَّهُۥ رُءُوسُ ٱلشَّيَـٰطِينِ
37:65 Its spathes are as if they were devils’ heads. - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
37:66 فَإِنَّهُمْ لَـَٔاكِلُونَ مِنْهَا فَمَالِـُٔونَ مِنْهَا ٱلْبُطُونَ
37:66 They will eat from it and gorge with it their bellies. - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
37:67 ثُمَّ إِنَّ لَهُمْ عَلَيْهَا لَشَوْبًا مِّنْ حَمِيمٍ
37:67 On top of that they will take a solution of scalding water. - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
37:68 ثُمَّ إِنَّ مَرْجِعَهُمْ لَإِلَى ٱلْجَحِيمِ
37:68 Then their retreat will be toward hell. - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
37:69 إِنَّهُمْ أَلْفَوْا۟ ءَابَآءَهُمْ ضَآلِّينَ
37:69 They had found their fathers astray, - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
37:70 فَهُمْ عَلَىٰٓ ءَاثَـٰرِهِمْ يُهْرَعُونَ
37:70 yet they press onwards in their footsteps. - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
37:71 وَلَقَدْ ضَلَّ قَبْلَهُمْ أَكْثَرُ ٱلْأَوَّلِينَ
37:71 Most of the former peoples went astray before them, - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
37:72 وَلَقَدْ أَرْسَلْنَا فِيهِم مُّنذِرِينَ
37:72 and We had certainly sent warners among them. - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
37:73 فَٱنظُرْ كَيْفَ كَانَ عَـٰقِبَةُ ٱلْمُنذَرِينَ
37:73 So observe how was the fate of those who were warned - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
37:74 إِلَّا عِبَادَ ٱللَّهِ ٱلْمُخْلَصِينَ
37:74 —[all] except Allah’s exclusive servants! - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
37:75 وَلَقَدْ نَادَىٰنَا نُوحٌ فَلَنِعْمَ ٱلْمُجِيبُونَ
37:75 Certainly Noah called out to Us, and how well did We respond! - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
37:76 وَنَجَّيْنَـٰهُ وَأَهْلَهُۥ مِنَ ٱلْكَرْبِ ٱلْعَظِيمِ
37:76 We delivered him and his family from their great distress, - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
37:77 وَجَعَلْنَا ذُرِّيَّتَهُۥ هُمُ ٱلْبَاقِينَ
37:77 and made his descendants the survivors, - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
37:78 وَتَرَكْنَا عَلَيْهِ فِى ٱلْـَٔاخِرِينَ
37:78 and left for him a good name among posterity: - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
37:79 سَلَـٰمٌ عَلَىٰ نُوحٍ فِى ٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ
37:79 ‘Peace to Noah, throughout the nations!’ - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
37:80 إِنَّا كَذَٰلِكَ نَجْزِى ٱلْمُحْسِنِينَ
37:80 Thus do We reward the virtuous. - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
37:81 إِنَّهُۥ مِنْ عِبَادِنَا ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ
37:81 He is indeed one of Our faithful servants. - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
37:82 ثُمَّ أَغْرَقْنَا ٱلْـَٔاخَرِينَ
37:82 Then We drowned the rest. - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
37:83 ۞ وَإِنَّ مِن شِيعَتِهِۦ لَإِبْرَٰهِيمَ
37:83 Indeed Abraham was among his followers, - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
37:84 إِذْ جَآءَ رَبَّهُۥ بِقَلْبٍ سَلِيمٍ
37:84 when he came to his Lord with a sound heart [untainted by sin]. - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
37:85 إِذْ قَالَ لِأَبِيهِ وَقَوْمِهِۦ مَاذَا تَعْبُدُونَ
37:85 When he said to his father and his people, ‘What is it that you are worshiping? - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
37:86 أَئِفْكًا ءَالِهَةً دُونَ ٱللَّهِ تُرِيدُونَ
37:86 Is it a lie, gods other than Allah, that you desire? - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
37:87 فَمَا ظَنُّكُم بِرَبِّ ٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ
37:87 Then what is your idea about the Lord of all the worlds?’ - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
37:88 فَنَظَرَ نَظْرَةً فِى ٱلنُّجُومِ
37:88 Then he made an observation of the stars - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
37:89 فَقَالَ إِنِّى سَقِيمٌ
37:89 and said, ‘Indeed I am sick!’ - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
37:90 فَتَوَلَّوْا۟ عَنْهُ مُدْبِرِينَ
37:90 So they went away leaving him behind. - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
37:91 فَرَاغَ إِلَىٰٓ ءَالِهَتِهِمْ فَقَالَ أَلَا تَأْكُلُونَ
37:91 Then he stole away to their gods and said, ‘Will you not eat? - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
37:92 مَا لَكُمْ لَا تَنطِقُونَ
37:92 Why do you not speak?’ - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
37:93 فَرَاغَ عَلَيْهِمْ ضَرْبًۢا بِٱلْيَمِينِ
37:93 Then he attacked them, striking forcefully. - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
37:94 فَأَقْبَلُوٓا۟ إِلَيْهِ يَزِفُّونَ
37:94 They came running towards him. - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
37:95 قَالَ أَتَعْبُدُونَ مَا تَنْحِتُونَ
37:95 He said, ‘Do you worship what you have yourselves carved, - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
37:96 وَٱللَّهُ خَلَقَكُمْ وَمَا تَعْمَلُونَ
37:96 when Allah has created you and whatever you make?’ - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
37:97 قَالُوا۟ ٱبْنُوا۟ لَهُۥ بُنْيَـٰنًا فَأَلْقُوهُ فِى ٱلْجَحِيمِ
37:97 They said, ‘Build a structure for him and cast him into a huge fire.’ - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
37:98 فَأَرَادُوا۟ بِهِۦ كَيْدًا فَجَعَلْنَـٰهُمُ ٱلْأَسْفَلِينَ
37:98 So they sought to outwit him, but We made them the lowermost. - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
37:99 وَقَالَ إِنِّى ذَاهِبٌ إِلَىٰ رَبِّى سَيَهْدِينِ
37:99 He said, ‘Indeed I am going toward my Lord, who will guide me.’ - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
37:100 رَبِّ هَبْ لِى مِنَ ٱلصَّـٰلِحِينَ
37:100 ‘My Lord! Give me [an heir], one of the righteous.’ - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
37:101 فَبَشَّرْنَـٰهُ بِغُلَـٰمٍ حَلِيمٍ
37:101 So We gave him the good news of a forbearing son. - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
37:102 فَلَمَّا بَلَغَ مَعَهُ ٱلسَّعْىَ قَالَ يَـٰبُنَىَّ إِنِّىٓ أَرَىٰ فِى ٱلْمَنَامِ أَنِّىٓ أَذْبَحُكَ فَٱنظُرْ مَاذَا تَرَىٰ ۚ قَالَ يَـٰٓأَبَتِ ٱفْعَلْ مَا تُؤْمَرُ ۖ سَتَجِدُنِىٓ إِن شَآءَ ٱللَّهُ مِنَ ٱلصَّـٰبِرِينَ
37:102 When he was old enough to assist in his endeavour, he said, ‘My son! I see in dreams that I am sacrificing you. See what you think.’ He said, ‘Father! Do whatever you have been commanded. If Allah wishes, you will find me to be patient.’ - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
37:103 فَلَمَّآ أَسْلَمَا وَتَلَّهُۥ لِلْجَبِينِ
37:103 So when they had both surrendered [to Allah’s will], and he had laid him down on his forehead, - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
37:104 وَنَـٰدَيْنَـٰهُ أَن يَـٰٓإِبْرَٰهِيمُ
37:104 We called out to him, ‘O Abraham! - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
37:105 قَدْ صَدَّقْتَ ٱلرُّءْيَآ ۚ إِنَّا كَذَٰلِكَ نَجْزِى ٱلْمُحْسِنِينَ
37:105 You have indeed fulfilled your vision! Thus indeed do We reward the virtuous! - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
37:106 إِنَّ هَـٰذَا لَهُوَ ٱلْبَلَـٰٓؤُا۟ ٱلْمُبِينُ
37:106 This was indeed a manifest test.’ - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
37:107 وَفَدَيْنَـٰهُ بِذِبْحٍ عَظِيمٍ
37:107 Then We ransomed him with a great sacrifice, - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
37:108 وَتَرَكْنَا عَلَيْهِ فِى ٱلْـَٔاخِرِينَ
37:108 and left for him a good name in posterity: - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
37:109 سَلَـٰمٌ عَلَىٰٓ إِبْرَٰهِيمَ
37:109 ‘Peace be to Abraham!’ - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
37:110 كَذَٰلِكَ نَجْزِى ٱلْمُحْسِنِينَ
37:110 Thus do We reward the virtuous. - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
37:111 إِنَّهُۥ مِنْ عِبَادِنَا ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ
37:111 He is indeed one of Our faithful servants. - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
37:112 وَبَشَّرْنَـٰهُ بِإِسْحَـٰقَ نَبِيًّا مِّنَ ٱلصَّـٰلِحِينَ
37:112 And We gave him the good news of [the birth of] Isaac, a prophet, one of the righteous. - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
37:113 وَبَـٰرَكْنَا عَلَيْهِ وَعَلَىٰٓ إِسْحَـٰقَ ۚ وَمِن ذُرِّيَّتِهِمَا مُحْسِنٌ وَظَالِمٌ لِّنَفْسِهِۦ مُبِينٌ
37:113 And We blessed him and Isaac. Among their descendants [some] are virtuous, and [some] who manifestly wrong themselves. - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
37:114 وَلَقَدْ مَنَنَّا عَلَىٰ مُوسَىٰ وَهَـٰرُونَ
37:114 Certainly We favoured Moses and Aaron, - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
37:115 وَنَجَّيْنَـٰهُمَا وَقَوْمَهُمَا مِنَ ٱلْكَرْبِ ٱلْعَظِيمِ
37:115 and delivered them and their people from their great distress, - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
37:116 وَنَصَرْنَـٰهُمْ فَكَانُوا۟ هُمُ ٱلْغَـٰلِبِينَ
37:116 and We helped them so that they became the victors. - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
37:117 وَءَاتَيْنَـٰهُمَا ٱلْكِتَـٰبَ ٱلْمُسْتَبِينَ
37:117 We gave them the illuminating scripture - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
37:118 وَهَدَيْنَـٰهُمَا ٱلصِّرَٰطَ ٱلْمُسْتَقِيمَ
37:118 and guided them to the straight path, - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
37:119 وَتَرَكْنَا عَلَيْهِمَا فِى ٱلْـَٔاخِرِينَ
37:119 and left for them a good name in posterity. - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
37:120 سَلَـٰمٌ عَلَىٰ مُوسَىٰ وَهَـٰرُونَ
37:120 ‘Peace be to Moses and Aaron!’ - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
37:121 إِنَّا كَذَٰلِكَ نَجْزِى ٱلْمُحْسِنِينَ
37:121 Thus indeed do We reward the virtuous. - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
37:122 إِنَّهُمَا مِنْ عِبَادِنَا ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ
37:122 They are indeed among Our faithful servants. - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
37:123 وَإِنَّ إِلْيَاسَ لَمِنَ ٱلْمُرْسَلِينَ
37:123 Indeed Ilyas was one of the apostles. - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
37:124 إِذْ قَالَ لِقَوْمِهِۦٓ أَلَا تَتَّقُونَ
37:124 When he said to his people, ‘Will you not be Godwary? - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
37:125 أَتَدْعُونَ بَعْلًا وَتَذَرُونَ أَحْسَنَ ٱلْخَـٰلِقِينَ
37:125 Do you invoke Baal and abandon the best of creators, - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
37:126 ٱللَّهَ رَبَّكُمْ وَرَبَّ ءَابَآئِكُمُ ٱلْأَوَّلِينَ
37:126 Allah, your Lord and Lord of your forefathers?,’ - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
37:127 فَكَذَّبُوهُ فَإِنَّهُمْ لَمُحْضَرُونَ
37:127 they impugned him. So they will indeed be mustered [in hell] - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
37:128 إِلَّا عِبَادَ ٱللَّهِ ٱلْمُخْلَصِينَ
37:128 —[all] except Allah’s exclusive servants. - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
37:129 وَتَرَكْنَا عَلَيْهِ فِى ٱلْـَٔاخِرِينَ
37:129 We left for him a good name in posterity. - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
37:130 سَلَـٰمٌ عَلَىٰٓ إِلْ يَاسِينَ
37:130 ‘Peace be to Ilyas!’ - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
37:131 إِنَّا كَذَٰلِكَ نَجْزِى ٱلْمُحْسِنِينَ
37:131 Thus indeed do We reward the virtuous. - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
37:132 إِنَّهُۥ مِنْ عِبَادِنَا ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ
37:132 He is indeed one of Our faithful servants. - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
37:133 وَإِنَّ لُوطًا لَّمِنَ ٱلْمُرْسَلِينَ
37:133 Indeed Lot was one of the apostles. - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
37:134 إِذْ نَجَّيْنَـٰهُ وَأَهْلَهُۥٓ أَجْمَعِينَ
37:134 When We delivered him and all his family, - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
37:135 إِلَّا عَجُوزًا فِى ٱلْغَـٰبِرِينَ
37:135 excepting an old woman among those who remained behind, - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
37:136 ثُمَّ دَمَّرْنَا ٱلْـَٔاخَرِينَ
37:136 We destroyed the rest. - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
37:137 وَإِنَّكُمْ لَتَمُرُّونَ عَلَيْهِم مُّصْبِحِينَ
37:137 Indeed you pass by them at dawn - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
37:138 وَبِٱلَّيْلِ ۗ أَفَلَا تَعْقِلُونَ
37:138 and at night. Do you not exercise your reason? - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
37:139 وَإِنَّ يُونُسَ لَمِنَ ٱلْمُرْسَلِينَ
37:139 Indeed Jonah was one of the apostles. - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
37:140 إِذْ أَبَقَ إِلَى ٱلْفُلْكِ ٱلْمَشْحُونِ
37:140 When he absconded toward the laden ship, - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
37:141 فَسَاهَمَ فَكَانَ مِنَ ٱلْمُدْحَضِينَ
37:141 he drew lots with them and was the one to be condemned [as one to be thrown overboard]. - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
37:142 فَٱلْتَقَمَهُ ٱلْحُوتُ وَهُوَ مُلِيمٌ
37:142 Then the fish swallowed him while he was blameworthy. - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
37:143 فَلَوْلَآ أَنَّهُۥ كَانَ مِنَ ٱلْمُسَبِّحِينَ
37:143 Had he not been one of those who celebrate Allah’s glory, - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
37:144 لَلَبِثَ فِى بَطْنِهِۦٓ إِلَىٰ يَوْمِ يُبْعَثُونَ
37:144 he would have surely remained in its belly till the day they will be resurrected. - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
37:145 ۞ فَنَبَذْنَـٰهُ بِٱلْعَرَآءِ وَهُوَ سَقِيمٌ
37:145 Then We cast him on a bare shore, and he was sick. - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
37:146 وَأَنۢبَتْنَا عَلَيْهِ شَجَرَةً مِّن يَقْطِينٍ
37:146 So We made a gourd plant grow above him. - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
37:147 وَأَرْسَلْنَـٰهُ إِلَىٰ مِا۟ئَةِ أَلْفٍ أَوْ يَزِيدُونَ
37:147 We sent him to a [community of] hundred thousand or more, - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
37:148 فَـَٔامَنُوا۟ فَمَتَّعْنَـٰهُمْ إِلَىٰ حِينٍ
37:148 and they believed [in him]. So We provided for them for a while. - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
37:149 فَٱسْتَفْتِهِمْ أَلِرَبِّكَ ٱلْبَنَاتُ وَلَهُمُ ٱلْبَنُونَ
37:149 Ask them, are daughters to be for your Lord while sons are to be for them? - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
37:150 أَمْ خَلَقْنَا ٱلْمَلَـٰٓئِكَةَ إِنَـٰثًا وَهُمْ شَـٰهِدُونَ
37:150 Did We create the angels females while they were present? - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
37:151 أَلَآ إِنَّهُم مِّنْ إِفْكِهِمْ لَيَقُولُونَ
37:151 Be aware that it is out of their mendacity that they say, - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
37:152 وَلَدَ ٱللَّهُ وَإِنَّهُمْ لَكَـٰذِبُونَ
37:152 ‘Allah has begotten [offsprings],’ and they indeed speak a falsehood. - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
37:153 أَصْطَفَى ٱلْبَنَاتِ عَلَى ٱلْبَنِينَ
37:153 Has He preferred daughters to sons? - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
37:154 مَا لَكُمْ كَيْفَ تَحْكُمُونَ
37:154 What is the matter with you? How do you judge? - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
37:155 أَفَلَا تَذَكَّرُونَ
37:155 Will you not then take admonition? - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
37:156 أَمْ لَكُمْ سُلْطَـٰنٌ مُّبِينٌ
37:156 Do you have a manifest authority? - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
37:157 فَأْتُوا۟ بِكِتَـٰبِكُمْ إِن كُنتُمْ صَـٰدِقِينَ
37:157 Then produce your scripture, should you be truthful. - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
37:158 وَجَعَلُوا۟ بَيْنَهُۥ وَبَيْنَ ٱلْجِنَّةِ نَسَبًا ۚ وَلَقَدْ عَلِمَتِ ٱلْجِنَّةُ إِنَّهُمْ لَمُحْضَرُونَ
37:158 And they have set up a kinship between Him and the jinn, while the jinn certainly know that they will be presented [before Him]. - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
37:159 سُبْحَـٰنَ ٱللَّهِ عَمَّا يَصِفُونَ
37:159 Clear is Allah of whatever they allege [about Him] - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
37:160 إِلَّا عِبَادَ ٱللَّهِ ٱلْمُخْلَصِينَ
37:160 —[all] except Allah’s exclusive servants. - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
37:161 فَإِنَّكُمْ وَمَا تَعْبُدُونَ
37:161 Indeed you and what you worship - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
37:162 مَآ أَنتُمْ عَلَيْهِ بِفَـٰتِنِينَ
37:162 cannot mislead [anyone] about Him, - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
37:163 إِلَّا مَنْ هُوَ صَالِ ٱلْجَحِيمِ
37:163 except someone who is bound for hell. - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
37:164 وَمَا مِنَّآ إِلَّا لَهُۥ مَقَامٌ مَّعْلُومٌ
37:164 ‘There is none among us but has a known place. - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
37:165 وَإِنَّا لَنَحْنُ ٱلصَّآفُّونَ
37:165 It is we who are the ranged ones. - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
37:166 وَإِنَّا لَنَحْنُ ٱلْمُسَبِّحُونَ
37:166 It is we who celebrate Allah’s glory.’ - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
37:167 وَإِن كَانُوا۟ لَيَقُولُونَ
37:167 They indeed, used to say, - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
37:168 لَوْ أَنَّ عِندَنَا ذِكْرًا مِّنَ ٱلْأَوَّلِينَ
37:168 ‘Had we possessed a Reminder from our predecessors, - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
37:169 لَكُنَّا عِبَادَ ٱللَّهِ ٱلْمُخْلَصِينَ
37:169 we would have surely been Allah’s exclusive servants.’ - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
37:170 فَكَفَرُوا۟ بِهِۦ ۖ فَسَوْفَ يَعْلَمُونَ
37:170 But they disbelieved it [when it came to them]. Soon they will know! - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
37:171 وَلَقَدْ سَبَقَتْ كَلِمَتُنَا لِعِبَادِنَا ٱلْمُرْسَلِينَ
37:171 Certainly Our decree has gone beforehand in favour of Our servants, the apostles, - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
37:172 إِنَّهُمْ لَهُمُ ٱلْمَنصُورُونَ
37:172 that they will indeed receive [Allah’s] help, - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
37:173 وَإِنَّ جُندَنَا لَهُمُ ٱلْغَـٰلِبُونَ
37:173 and indeed Our hosts will be the victors. - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
37:174 فَتَوَلَّ عَنْهُمْ حَتَّىٰ حِينٍ
37:174 So leave them alone for a while, - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
37:175 وَأَبْصِرْهُمْ فَسَوْفَ يُبْصِرُونَ
37:175 and watch them; soon they will see [the truth of the matter]! - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
37:176 أَفَبِعَذَابِنَا يَسْتَعْجِلُونَ
37:176 Do they seek to hasten Our punishment? - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
37:177 فَإِذَا نَزَلَ بِسَاحَتِهِمْ فَسَآءَ صَبَاحُ ٱلْمُنذَرِينَ
37:177 But when it descends in their courtyard it will be a dismal dawn for those who had been warned. - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
37:178 وَتَوَلَّ عَنْهُمْ حَتَّىٰ حِينٍ
37:178 So leave them alone for a while, - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
37:179 وَأَبْصِرْ فَسَوْفَ يُبْصِرُونَ
37:179 and watch; soon they will see! - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
37:180 سُبْحَـٰنَ رَبِّكَ رَبِّ ٱلْعِزَّةِ عَمَّا يَصِفُونَ
37:180 Clear is your Lord, the Lord of Might, of whatever they allege [concerning Him]. - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
37:181 وَسَلَـٰمٌ عَلَى ٱلْمُرْسَلِينَ
37:181 Peace be to the apostles! - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
37:182 وَٱلْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ رَبِّ ٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ
37:182 All praise belongs to Allah, Lord of all the worlds. - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
