Transliteration
Wahiduddin Khan
بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful.
37:1
وَٱلصَّـٰٓفَّـٰتِ صَفًّا
37:1
By the aligners aligning. - Talal Itani (English)
37:2
فَٱلزَّٰجِرَٰتِ زَجْرًا
37:2
And the drivers driving. - Talal Itani (English)
37:3
فَٱلتَّـٰلِيَـٰتِ ذِكْرًا
37:3
And the reciters of the Reminder. - Talal Itani (English)
37:4
إِنَّ إِلَـٰهَكُمْ لَوَٰحِدٌ
37:4
Your God is indeed One. - Talal Itani (English)
37:5
رَّبُّ ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَا وَرَبُّ ٱلْمَشَـٰرِقِ
37:5
Lord of the heavens and the earth, and everything between them; and Lord of the Easts. - Talal Itani (English)
37:6
إِنَّا زَيَّنَّا ٱلسَّمَآءَ ٱلدُّنْيَا بِزِينَةٍ ٱلْكَوَاكِبِ
37:6
We have adorned the lower heaven with the beauty of the planets. - Talal Itani (English)
37:7
وَحِفْظًا مِّن كُلِّ شَيْطَـٰنٍ مَّارِدٍ
37:7
And guarded it against every defiant devil. - Talal Itani (English)
37:8
لَّا يَسَّمَّعُونَ إِلَى ٱلْمَلَإِ ٱلْأَعْلَىٰ وَيُقْذَفُونَ مِن كُلِّ جَانِبٍ
37:8
They cannot eavesdrop on the Supernal Elite, for they get bombarded from every side. - Talal Itani (English)
37:9
دُحُورًا ۖ وَلَهُمْ عَذَابٌ وَاصِبٌ
37:9
Repelled—they will have a lingering torment. - Talal Itani (English)
37:10
إِلَّا مَنْ خَطِفَ ٱلْخَطْفَةَ فَأَتْبَعَهُۥ شِهَابٌ ثَاقِبٌ
37:10
Except for him who snatches a fragment—he gets pursued by a piercing projectile. - Talal Itani (English)
37:11
فَٱسْتَفْتِهِمْ أَهُمْ أَشَدُّ خَلْقًا أَم مَّنْ خَلَقْنَآ ۚ إِنَّا خَلَقْنَـٰهُم مِّن طِينٍ لَّازِبٍۭ
37:11
Inquire of them, “Are they more difficult to create, or the others We created?” We created them from sticky clay. - Talal Itani (English)
37:12
بَلْ عَجِبْتَ وَيَسْخَرُونَ
37:12
But you wonder, and they ridicule. - Talal Itani (English)
37:13
وَإِذَا ذُكِّرُوا۟ لَا يَذْكُرُونَ
37:13
And when reminded, they pay no attention. - Talal Itani (English)
37:14
وَإِذَا رَأَوْا۟ ءَايَةً يَسْتَسْخِرُونَ
37:14
And when they see a sign, they ridicule. - Talal Itani (English)
37:15
وَقَالُوٓا۟ إِنْ هَـٰذَآ إِلَّا سِحْرٌ مُّبِينٌ
37:15
And they say, “This is nothing but plain magic. - Talal Itani (English)
37:16
أَءِذَا مِتْنَا وَكُنَّا تُرَابًا وَعِظَـٰمًا أَءِنَّا لَمَبْعُوثُونَ
37:16
When we have died and become dust and bones, shall we be resurrected? - Talal Itani (English)
37:17
أَوَءَابَآؤُنَا ٱلْأَوَّلُونَ
37:17
And our ancestors of old?” - Talal Itani (English)
37:18
قُلْ نَعَمْ وَأَنتُمْ دَٰخِرُونَ
37:18
Say, “Yes indeed, and you will be totally subdued.” - Talal Itani (English)
37:19
فَإِنَّمَا هِىَ زَجْرَةٌ وَٰحِدَةٌ فَإِذَا هُمْ يَنظُرُونَ
37:19
It will be a single nudge, and they will be staring. - Talal Itani (English)
37:20
وَقَالُوا۟ يَـٰوَيْلَنَا هَـٰذَا يَوْمُ ٱلدِّينِ
37:20
They will say, “Woe to us. This is the Day of Judgment.” - Talal Itani (English)
37:21
هَـٰذَا يَوْمُ ٱلْفَصْلِ ٱلَّذِى كُنتُم بِهِۦ تُكَذِّبُونَ
37:21
“This is the Day of Separation which you used to deny. - Talal Itani (English)
37:22
۞ ٱحْشُرُوا۟ ٱلَّذِينَ ظَلَمُوا۟ وَأَزْوَٰجَهُمْ وَمَا كَانُوا۟ يَعْبُدُونَ
37:22
Gather those who did wrong, and their mates, and what they used to worship. - Talal Itani (English)
37:23
مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ فَٱهْدُوهُمْ إِلَىٰ صِرَٰطِ ٱلْجَحِيمِ
37:23
Besides God, and lead them to the way to Hell. - Talal Itani (English)
37:24
وَقِفُوهُمْ ۖ إِنَّهُم مَّسْـُٔولُونَ
37:24
And stop them. They are to be questioned.” - Talal Itani (English)
37:25
مَا لَكُمْ لَا تَنَاصَرُونَ
37:25
What is the matter with you? Why do you not help one another? - Talal Itani (English)
37:26
بَلْ هُمُ ٱلْيَوْمَ مُسْتَسْلِمُونَ
37:26
In fact, on that Day, they will be submissive. - Talal Itani (English)
37:27
وَأَقْبَلَ بَعْضُهُمْ عَلَىٰ بَعْضٍ يَتَسَآءَلُونَ
37:27
They will come to one another, questioning one another. - Talal Itani (English)
37:28
قَالُوٓا۟ إِنَّكُمْ كُنتُمْ تَأْتُونَنَا عَنِ ٱلْيَمِينِ
37:28
They will say, “You used to come at us from the right.” - Talal Itani (English)
37:29
قَالُوا۟ بَل لَّمْ تَكُونُوا۟ مُؤْمِنِينَ
37:29
They will say, “You yourselves were not believers. - Talal Itani (English)
37:30
وَمَا كَانَ لَنَا عَلَيْكُم مِّن سُلْطَـٰنٍۭ ۖ بَلْ كُنتُمْ قَوْمًا طَـٰغِينَ
37:30
We had no authority over you. You yourselves were rebellious people. - Talal Itani (English)
37:31
فَحَقَّ عَلَيْنَا قَوْلُ رَبِّنَآ ۖ إِنَّا لَذَآئِقُونَ
37:31
The Word of our Lord has been realized against us. We are tasting it. - Talal Itani (English)
37:32
فَأَغْوَيْنَـٰكُمْ إِنَّا كُنَّا غَـٰوِينَ
37:32
We seduced you. We were seducers.” - Talal Itani (English)
37:33
فَإِنَّهُمْ يَوْمَئِذٍ فِى ٱلْعَذَابِ مُشْتَرِكُونَ
37:33
On that Day, they will share in the punishment. - Talal Itani (English)
37:34
إِنَّا كَذَٰلِكَ نَفْعَلُ بِٱلْمُجْرِمِينَ
37:34
Thus We deal with the sinners. - Talal Itani (English)
37:35
إِنَّهُمْ كَانُوٓا۟ إِذَا قِيلَ لَهُمْ لَآ إِلَـٰهَ إِلَّا ٱللَّهُ يَسْتَكْبِرُونَ
37:35
When it was said to them, “There is no god except God,” they grew arrogant. - Talal Itani (English)
37:36
وَيَقُولُونَ أَئِنَّا لَتَارِكُوٓا۟ ءَالِهَتِنَا لِشَاعِرٍ مَّجْنُونٍۭ
37:36
And said, “Are we to abandon our gods for a mad poet?” - Talal Itani (English)
37:37
بَلْ جَآءَ بِٱلْحَقِّ وَصَدَّقَ ٱلْمُرْسَلِينَ
37:37
In fact, he came with the truth, and he confirmed the messengers. - Talal Itani (English)
37:38
إِنَّكُمْ لَذَآئِقُوا۟ ٱلْعَذَابِ ٱلْأَلِيمِ
37:38
Most assuredly, you will taste the painful punishment. - Talal Itani (English)
37:39
وَمَا تُجْزَوْنَ إِلَّا مَا كُنتُمْ تَعْمَلُونَ
37:39
And you will be repaid only for what you used to do. - Talal Itani (English)
37:40
إِلَّا عِبَادَ ٱللَّهِ ٱلْمُخْلَصِينَ
37:40
Except for God’s sincere servants. - Talal Itani (English)
37:41
أُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَ لَهُمْ رِزْقٌ مَّعْلُومٌ
37:41
For them is a known provision. - Talal Itani (English)
37:42
فَوَٰكِهُ ۖ وَهُم مُّكْرَمُونَ
37:42
Fruits; and they will be honored. - Talal Itani (English)
37:43
فِى جَنَّـٰتِ ٱلنَّعِيمِ
37:43
In the Gardens of Bliss. - Talal Itani (English)
37:44
عَلَىٰ سُرُرٍ مُّتَقَـٰبِلِينَ
37:44
On furnishings, facing one another. - Talal Itani (English)
37:45
يُطَافُ عَلَيْهِم بِكَأْسٍ مِّن مَّعِينٍۭ
37:45
They will be offered a cup of pure drink. - Talal Itani (English)
37:46
بَيْضَآءَ لَذَّةٍ لِّلشَّـٰرِبِينَ
37:46
White; a delight to those who drink. - Talal Itani (English)
37:47
لَا فِيهَا غَوْلٌ وَلَا هُمْ عَنْهَا يُنزَفُونَ
37:47
Never polluted, and never intoxicating. - Talal Itani (English)
37:48
وَعِندَهُمْ قَـٰصِرَٰتُ ٱلطَّرْفِ عِينٌ
37:48
With them will be bashful women with lovely eyes. - Talal Itani (English)
37:49
كَأَنَّهُنَّ بَيْضٌ مَّكْنُونٌ
37:49
As if they were closely guarded pearls. - Talal Itani (English)
37:50
فَأَقْبَلَ بَعْضُهُمْ عَلَىٰ بَعْضٍ يَتَسَآءَلُونَ
37:50
Then they will approach one another, questioning. - Talal Itani (English)
37:51
قَالَ قَآئِلٌ مِّنْهُمْ إِنِّى كَانَ لِى قَرِينٌ
37:51
One of them will say, “I used to have a friend. - Talal Itani (English)
37:52
يَقُولُ أَءِنَّكَ لَمِنَ ٱلْمُصَدِّقِينَ
37:52
Who used to say, “Are you of those who believe? - Talal Itani (English)
37:53
أَءِذَا مِتْنَا وَكُنَّا تُرَابًا وَعِظَـٰمًا أَءِنَّا لَمَدِينُونَ
37:53
That after we die and become dust and bones, we will be called to account?” - Talal Itani (English)
37:54
قَالَ هَلْ أَنتُم مُّطَّلِعُونَ
37:54
He will say, “Will you have a look?” - Talal Itani (English)
37:55
فَٱطَّلَعَ فَرَءَاهُ فِى سَوَآءِ ٱلْجَحِيمِ
37:55
He will look, and will see him in the pit of Hell. - Talal Itani (English)
37:56
قَالَ تَٱللَّهِ إِن كِدتَّ لَتُرْدِينِ
37:56
He will say, “By God, you almost ruined me. - Talal Itani (English)
37:57
وَلَوْلَا نِعْمَةُ رَبِّى لَكُنتُ مِنَ ٱلْمُحْضَرِينَ
37:57
Were it not for the grace of my Lord, I would have been among the arraigned.” - Talal Itani (English)
37:58
أَفَمَا نَحْنُ بِمَيِّتِينَ
37:58
“We will not die. - Talal Itani (English)
37:59
إِلَّا مَوْتَتَنَا ٱلْأُولَىٰ وَمَا نَحْنُ بِمُعَذَّبِينَ
37:59
Except for our first death, and we will not be punished.” - Talal Itani (English)
37:60
إِنَّ هَـٰذَا لَهُوَ ٱلْفَوْزُ ٱلْعَظِيمُ
37:60
This is the supreme triumph. - Talal Itani (English)
37:61
لِمِثْلِ هَـٰذَا فَلْيَعْمَلِ ٱلْعَـٰمِلُونَ
37:61
For the like of this let the workers work. - Talal Itani (English)
37:62
أَذَٰلِكَ خَيْرٌ نُّزُلًا أَمْ شَجَرَةُ ٱلزَّقُّومِ
37:62
Is this a better hospitality, or the Tree of Bitterness? - Talal Itani (English)
37:63
إِنَّا جَعَلْنَـٰهَا فِتْنَةً لِّلظَّـٰلِمِينَ
37:63
We made it an ordeal for the unjust. - Talal Itani (English)
37:64
إِنَّهَا شَجَرَةٌ تَخْرُجُ فِىٓ أَصْلِ ٱلْجَحِيمِ
37:64
It is a tree that grows from the bottom of Hell. - Talal Itani (English)
37:65
طَلْعُهَا كَأَنَّهُۥ رُءُوسُ ٱلشَّيَـٰطِينِ
37:65
Its fruits are like the devils’ heads. - Talal Itani (English)
37:66
فَإِنَّهُمْ لَـَٔاكِلُونَ مِنْهَا فَمَالِـُٔونَ مِنْهَا ٱلْبُطُونَ
37:66
They will eat from it, and fill their bellies with it. - Talal Itani (English)
37:67
ثُمَّ إِنَّ لَهُمْ عَلَيْهَا لَشَوْبًا مِّنْ حَمِيمٍ
37:67
Then, on top of it, they will have a brew of boiling liquid. - Talal Itani (English)
37:68
ثُمَّ إِنَّ مَرْجِعَهُمْ لَإِلَى ٱلْجَحِيمِ
37:68
Then their return will be to the Blaze. - Talal Itani (English)
37:69
إِنَّهُمْ أَلْفَوْا۟ ءَابَآءَهُمْ ضَآلِّينَ
37:69
They had found their parents astray. - Talal Itani (English)
37:70
فَهُمْ عَلَىٰٓ ءَاثَـٰرِهِمْ يُهْرَعُونَ
37:70
And rushed along in their footsteps. - Talal Itani (English)
37:71
وَلَقَدْ ضَلَّ قَبْلَهُمْ أَكْثَرُ ٱلْأَوَّلِينَ
37:71
And most of the ancients before them went astray. - Talal Itani (English)
37:72
وَلَقَدْ أَرْسَلْنَا فِيهِم مُّنذِرِينَ
37:72
Even though We sent messengers to warn them. - Talal Itani (English)
37:73
فَٱنظُرْ كَيْفَ كَانَ عَـٰقِبَةُ ٱلْمُنذَرِينَ
37:73
So observe the end of those who were warned. - Talal Itani (English)
37:74
إِلَّا عِبَادَ ٱللَّهِ ٱلْمُخْلَصِينَ
37:74
Except for the sincere servants of God. - Talal Itani (English)
37:75
وَلَقَدْ نَادَىٰنَا نُوحٌ فَلَنِعْمَ ٱلْمُجِيبُونَ
37:75
And Noah called out to Us, and We are the Best of responders. - Talal Itani (English)
37:76
وَنَجَّيْنَـٰهُ وَأَهْلَهُۥ مِنَ ٱلْكَرْبِ ٱلْعَظِيمِ
37:76
And We saved him and his family from the great calamity. - Talal Itani (English)
37:77
وَجَعَلْنَا ذُرِّيَّتَهُۥ هُمُ ٱلْبَاقِينَ
37:77
And We made his descendants the survivors. - Talal Itani (English)
37:78
وَتَرَكْنَا عَلَيْهِ فِى ٱلْـَٔاخِرِينَ
37:78
And We left mention of him among those who succeeded. - Talal Itani (English)
37:79
سَلَـٰمٌ عَلَىٰ نُوحٍ فِى ٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ
37:79
Peace be upon Noah among all people. - Talal Itani (English)
37:80
إِنَّا كَذَٰلِكَ نَجْزِى ٱلْمُحْسِنِينَ
37:80
We thus reward the righteous. - Talal Itani (English)
37:81
إِنَّهُۥ مِنْ عِبَادِنَا ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ
37:81
He was one of Our believing servants. - Talal Itani (English)
37:82
ثُمَّ أَغْرَقْنَا ٱلْـَٔاخَرِينَ
37:82
Then We drowned the others. - Talal Itani (English)
37:83
۞ وَإِنَّ مِن شِيعَتِهِۦ لَإِبْرَٰهِيمَ
37:83
Of his kind was Abraham. - Talal Itani (English)
37:84
إِذْ جَآءَ رَبَّهُۥ بِقَلْبٍ سَلِيمٍ
37:84
When he came to his Lord with a sound heart. - Talal Itani (English)
37:85
إِذْ قَالَ لِأَبِيهِ وَقَوْمِهِۦ مَاذَا تَعْبُدُونَ
37:85
He said to his father and his people, “What are you worshiping? - Talal Itani (English)
37:86
أَئِفْكًا ءَالِهَةً دُونَ ٱللَّهِ تُرِيدُونَ
37:86
Is it falsified gods, instead of God, that you want? - Talal Itani (English)
37:87
فَمَا ظَنُّكُم بِرَبِّ ٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ
37:87
So what is your opinion about the Lord of the Worlds?” - Talal Itani (English)
37:88
فَنَظَرَ نَظْرَةً فِى ٱلنُّجُومِ
37:88
Then he took a glance at the stars. - Talal Itani (English)
37:89
فَقَالَ إِنِّى سَقِيمٌ
37:89
And said, “I am sick.” - Talal Itani (English)
37:90
فَتَوَلَّوْا۟ عَنْهُ مُدْبِرِينَ
37:90
But they turned their backs on him, and went away. - Talal Itani (English)
37:91
فَرَاغَ إِلَىٰٓ ءَالِهَتِهِمْ فَقَالَ أَلَا تَأْكُلُونَ
37:91
Then he turned to their gods, and said, “will you not eat? - Talal Itani (English)
37:92
مَا لَكُمْ لَا تَنطِقُونَ
37:92
What is it with you, that you do not speak?” - Talal Itani (English)
37:93
فَرَاغَ عَلَيْهِمْ ضَرْبًۢا بِٱلْيَمِينِ
37:93
Then he turned on them, striking with his right hand. - Talal Itani (English)
37:94
فَأَقْبَلُوٓا۟ إِلَيْهِ يَزِفُّونَ
37:94
And they came running towards him. - Talal Itani (English)
37:95
قَالَ أَتَعْبُدُونَ مَا تَنْحِتُونَ
37:95
He said, “Do you worship what you carve? - Talal Itani (English)
37:96
وَٱللَّهُ خَلَقَكُمْ وَمَا تَعْمَلُونَ
37:96
When God created you, and what you manufacture?” - Talal Itani (English)
37:97
قَالُوا۟ ٱبْنُوا۟ لَهُۥ بُنْيَـٰنًا فَأَلْقُوهُ فِى ٱلْجَحِيمِ
37:97
They said, “Build a pyre for him, and throw him into the furnace.” - Talal Itani (English)
37:98
فَأَرَادُوا۟ بِهِۦ كَيْدًا فَجَعَلْنَـٰهُمُ ٱلْأَسْفَلِينَ
37:98
They wished him ill, but We made them the losers. - Talal Itani (English)
37:99
وَقَالَ إِنِّى ذَاهِبٌ إِلَىٰ رَبِّى سَيَهْدِينِ
37:99
He said, “I am going towards my Lord, and He will guide me.” - Talal Itani (English)
37:100
رَبِّ هَبْ لِى مِنَ ٱلصَّـٰلِحِينَ
37:100
“My Lord, give me one of the righteous.” - Talal Itani (English)
37:101
فَبَشَّرْنَـٰهُ بِغُلَـٰمٍ حَلِيمٍ
37:101
So We gave him good news of a clement boy. - Talal Itani (English)
37:102
فَلَمَّا بَلَغَ مَعَهُ ٱلسَّعْىَ قَالَ يَـٰبُنَىَّ إِنِّىٓ أَرَىٰ فِى ٱلْمَنَامِ أَنِّىٓ أَذْبَحُكَ فَٱنظُرْ مَاذَا تَرَىٰ ۚ قَالَ يَـٰٓأَبَتِ ٱفْعَلْ مَا تُؤْمَرُ ۖ سَتَجِدُنِىٓ إِن شَآءَ ٱللَّهُ مِنَ ٱلصَّـٰبِرِينَ
37:102
Then, when he was old enough to accompany him, he said, “O My son, I see in a dream that I am sacrificing you; see what you think.” He said, “O my Father, do as you are commanded; you will find me, God willing, one of the steadfast.” - Talal Itani (English)
37:103
فَلَمَّآ أَسْلَمَا وَتَلَّهُۥ لِلْجَبِينِ
37:103
Then, when they had submitted, and he put his forehead down. - Talal Itani (English)
37:104
وَنَـٰدَيْنَـٰهُ أَن يَـٰٓإِبْرَٰهِيمُ
37:104
We called out to him, “O Abraham! - Talal Itani (English)
37:105
قَدْ صَدَّقْتَ ٱلرُّءْيَآ ۚ إِنَّا كَذَٰلِكَ نَجْزِى ٱلْمُحْسِنِينَ
37:105
You have fulfilled the vision.” Thus We reward the doers of good. - Talal Itani (English)
37:106
إِنَّ هَـٰذَا لَهُوَ ٱلْبَلَـٰٓؤُا۟ ٱلْمُبِينُ
37:106
This was certainly an evident test. - Talal Itani (English)
37:107
وَفَدَيْنَـٰهُ بِذِبْحٍ عَظِيمٍ
37:107
And We redeemed him with a great sacrifice. - Talal Itani (English)
37:108
وَتَرَكْنَا عَلَيْهِ فِى ٱلْـَٔاخِرِينَ
37:108
And We left with him for later generations. - Talal Itani (English)
37:109
سَلَـٰمٌ عَلَىٰٓ إِبْرَٰهِيمَ
37:109
Peace be upon Abraham. - Talal Itani (English)
37:110
كَذَٰلِكَ نَجْزِى ٱلْمُحْسِنِينَ
37:110
Thus We reward the doers of good. - Talal Itani (English)
37:111
إِنَّهُۥ مِنْ عِبَادِنَا ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ
37:111
He was one of Our believing servants. - Talal Itani (English)
37:112
وَبَشَّرْنَـٰهُ بِإِسْحَـٰقَ نَبِيًّا مِّنَ ٱلصَّـٰلِحِينَ
37:112
And We gave him good news of Isaac, a prophet, one of the righteous. - Talal Itani (English)
37:113
وَبَـٰرَكْنَا عَلَيْهِ وَعَلَىٰٓ إِسْحَـٰقَ ۚ وَمِن ذُرِّيَّتِهِمَا مُحْسِنٌ وَظَالِمٌ لِّنَفْسِهِۦ مُبِينٌ
37:113
And We blessed him, and Isaac. But among their descendants are some who are righteous, and some who are clearly unjust to themselves. - Talal Itani (English)
37:114
وَلَقَدْ مَنَنَّا عَلَىٰ مُوسَىٰ وَهَـٰرُونَ
37:114
And We blessed Moses and Aaron. - Talal Itani (English)
37:115
وَنَجَّيْنَـٰهُمَا وَقَوْمَهُمَا مِنَ ٱلْكَرْبِ ٱلْعَظِيمِ
37:115
And We delivered them and their people from the terrible disaster. - Talal Itani (English)
37:116
وَنَصَرْنَـٰهُمْ فَكَانُوا۟ هُمُ ٱلْغَـٰلِبِينَ
37:116
And We supported them, and so they were the victors. - Talal Itani (English)
37:117
وَءَاتَيْنَـٰهُمَا ٱلْكِتَـٰبَ ٱلْمُسْتَبِينَ
37:117
And We gave them the Clarifying Scripture. - Talal Itani (English)
37:118
وَهَدَيْنَـٰهُمَا ٱلصِّرَٰطَ ٱلْمُسْتَقِيمَ
37:118
And We guided them upon the straight path. - Talal Itani (English)
37:119
وَتَرَكْنَا عَلَيْهِمَا فِى ٱلْـَٔاخِرِينَ
37:119
And We left with them for later generations. - Talal Itani (English)
37:120
سَلَـٰمٌ عَلَىٰ مُوسَىٰ وَهَـٰرُونَ
37:120
Peace be upon Moses and Aaron. - Talal Itani (English)
37:121
إِنَّا كَذَٰلِكَ نَجْزِى ٱلْمُحْسِنِينَ
37:121
Thus We reward the righteous. - Talal Itani (English)
37:122
إِنَّهُمَا مِنْ عِبَادِنَا ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ
37:122
They were of Our believing servants. - Talal Itani (English)
37:123
وَإِنَّ إِلْيَاسَ لَمِنَ ٱلْمُرْسَلِينَ
37:123
Also Elijah was one of the messengers. - Talal Itani (English)
37:124
إِذْ قَالَ لِقَوْمِهِۦٓ أَلَا تَتَّقُونَ
37:124
He said to his people, “Do you not fear? - Talal Itani (English)
37:125
أَتَدْعُونَ بَعْلًا وَتَذَرُونَ أَحْسَنَ ٱلْخَـٰلِقِينَ
37:125
Do you call on Baal, and forsake the Best of creators? - Talal Itani (English)
37:126
ٱللَّهَ رَبَّكُمْ وَرَبَّ ءَابَآئِكُمُ ٱلْأَوَّلِينَ
37:126
God is your Lord, and the Lord of your ancestors.” - Talal Itani (English)
37:127
فَكَذَّبُوهُ فَإِنَّهُمْ لَمُحْضَرُونَ
37:127
But they called him a liar, and thus they will be brought forward. - Talal Itani (English)
37:128
إِلَّا عِبَادَ ٱللَّهِ ٱلْمُخْلَصِينَ
37:128
Except for God’s sincere servants. - Talal Itani (English)
37:129
وَتَرَكْنَا عَلَيْهِ فِى ٱلْـَٔاخِرِينَ
37:129
And We left with him for later generations. - Talal Itani (English)
37:130
سَلَـٰمٌ عَلَىٰٓ إِلْ يَاسِينَ
37:130
Peace be upon the House of Elijah. - Talal Itani (English)
37:131
إِنَّا كَذَٰلِكَ نَجْزِى ٱلْمُحْسِنِينَ
37:131
Thus We reward the virtuous. - Talal Itani (English)
37:132
إِنَّهُۥ مِنْ عِبَادِنَا ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ
37:132
He was one of Our believing servants. - Talal Itani (English)
37:133
وَإِنَّ لُوطًا لَّمِنَ ٱلْمُرْسَلِينَ
37:133
And Lot was one of the messengers. - Talal Itani (English)
37:134
إِذْ نَجَّيْنَـٰهُ وَأَهْلَهُۥٓ أَجْمَعِينَ
37:134
We saved him and his family, all of them. - Talal Itani (English)
37:135
إِلَّا عَجُوزًا فِى ٱلْغَـٰبِرِينَ
37:135
Except for an old woman who lagged behind. - Talal Itani (English)
37:136
ثُمَّ دَمَّرْنَا ٱلْـَٔاخَرِينَ
37:136
Then We annihilated the others. - Talal Itani (English)
37:137
وَإِنَّكُمْ لَتَمُرُّونَ عَلَيْهِم مُّصْبِحِينَ
37:137
You pass by them in the morning. - Talal Itani (English)
37:138
وَبِٱلَّيْلِ ۗ أَفَلَا تَعْقِلُونَ
37:138
And at night. Do you not understand? - Talal Itani (English)
37:139
وَإِنَّ يُونُسَ لَمِنَ ٱلْمُرْسَلِينَ
37:139
And Jonah was one of the messengers. - Talal Itani (English)
37:140
إِذْ أَبَقَ إِلَى ٱلْفُلْكِ ٱلْمَشْحُونِ
37:140
When he fled to the laden boat. - Talal Itani (English)
37:141
فَسَاهَمَ فَكَانَ مِنَ ٱلْمُدْحَضِينَ
37:141
He gambled and lost. - Talal Itani (English)
37:142
فَٱلْتَقَمَهُ ٱلْحُوتُ وَهُوَ مُلِيمٌ
37:142
Then the fish swallowed him, and he was to blame. - Talal Itani (English)
37:143
فَلَوْلَآ أَنَّهُۥ كَانَ مِنَ ٱلْمُسَبِّحِينَ
37:143
Had he not been one of those who praised. - Talal Itani (English)
37:144
لَلَبِثَ فِى بَطْنِهِۦٓ إِلَىٰ يَوْمِ يُبْعَثُونَ
37:144
He would have stayed in its belly until the Day they are raised. - Talal Itani (English)
37:145
۞ فَنَبَذْنَـٰهُ بِٱلْعَرَآءِ وَهُوَ سَقِيمٌ
37:145
Then We threw him into the wilderness, and he was sick. - Talal Itani (English)
37:146
وَأَنۢبَتْنَا عَلَيْهِ شَجَرَةً مِّن يَقْطِينٍ
37:146
And We made a gourd tree grow over him. - Talal Itani (English)
37:147
وَأَرْسَلْنَـٰهُ إِلَىٰ مِا۟ئَةِ أَلْفٍ أَوْ يَزِيدُونَ
37:147
Then We sent him to a hundred thousand, or more. - Talal Itani (English)
37:148
فَـَٔامَنُوا۟ فَمَتَّعْنَـٰهُمْ إِلَىٰ حِينٍ
37:148
And they believed, so We gave them enjoyment for a while. - Talal Itani (English)
37:149
فَٱسْتَفْتِهِمْ أَلِرَبِّكَ ٱلْبَنَاتُ وَلَهُمُ ٱلْبَنُونَ
37:149
Ask them, “Are the daughters for your Lord, while for them the sons?” - Talal Itani (English)
37:150
أَمْ خَلَقْنَا ٱلْمَلَـٰٓئِكَةَ إِنَـٰثًا وَهُمْ شَـٰهِدُونَ
37:150
Or did We create the angels females, as they witnessed?” - Talal Itani (English)
37:151
أَلَآ إِنَّهُم مِّنْ إِفْكِهِمْ لَيَقُولُونَ
37:151
No indeed! It is one of their lies when they say. - Talal Itani (English)
37:152
وَلَدَ ٱللَّهُ وَإِنَّهُمْ لَكَـٰذِبُونَ
37:152
“God has begotten.” They are indeed lying. - Talal Itani (English)
37:153
أَصْطَفَى ٱلْبَنَاتِ عَلَى ٱلْبَنِينَ
37:153
So He preferred girls over boys? - Talal Itani (English)
37:154
مَا لَكُمْ كَيْفَ تَحْكُمُونَ
37:154
What is the matter with you? How do you judge? - Talal Itani (English)
37:155
أَفَلَا تَذَكَّرُونَ
37:155
Will you not reflect? - Talal Itani (English)
37:156
أَمْ لَكُمْ سُلْطَـٰنٌ مُّبِينٌ
37:156
Or do you have some clear proof? - Talal Itani (English)
37:157
فَأْتُوا۟ بِكِتَـٰبِكُمْ إِن كُنتُمْ صَـٰدِقِينَ
37:157
Then bring your book, if you are telling the truth. - Talal Itani (English)
37:158
وَجَعَلُوا۟ بَيْنَهُۥ وَبَيْنَ ٱلْجِنَّةِ نَسَبًا ۚ وَلَقَدْ عَلِمَتِ ٱلْجِنَّةُ إِنَّهُمْ لَمُحْضَرُونَ
37:158
And they invented a relationship between Him and the jinn. But the jinn know that they will be arraigned. - Talal Itani (English)
37:159
سُبْحَـٰنَ ٱللَّهِ عَمَّا يَصِفُونَ
37:159
God be glorified, far above what they allege. - Talal Itani (English)
37:160
إِلَّا عِبَادَ ٱللَّهِ ٱلْمُخْلَصِينَ
37:160
Except for God’s sincere servants. - Talal Itani (English)
37:161
فَإِنَّكُمْ وَمَا تَعْبُدُونَ
37:161
Surely, you and what you serve. - Talal Itani (English)
37:162
مَآ أَنتُمْ عَلَيْهِ بِفَـٰتِنِينَ
37:162
Cannot seduce away from Him. - Talal Itani (English)
37:163
إِلَّا مَنْ هُوَ صَالِ ٱلْجَحِيمِ
37:163
Except for he who will be roasting in Hell. - Talal Itani (English)
37:164
وَمَا مِنَّآ إِلَّا لَهُۥ مَقَامٌ مَّعْلُومٌ
37:164
“There is not one of us but has an assigned position. - Talal Itani (English)
37:165
وَإِنَّا لَنَحْنُ ٱلصَّآفُّونَ
37:165
And we are the arrangers. - Talal Itani (English)
37:166
وَإِنَّا لَنَحْنُ ٱلْمُسَبِّحُونَ
37:166
And we are the glorifiers.” - Talal Itani (English)
37:167
وَإِن كَانُوا۟ لَيَقُولُونَ
37:167
Even though they used to say. - Talal Itani (English)
37:168
لَوْ أَنَّ عِندَنَا ذِكْرًا مِّنَ ٱلْأَوَّلِينَ
37:168
“Had we received advice from the ancients. - Talal Itani (English)
37:169
لَكُنَّا عِبَادَ ٱللَّهِ ٱلْمُخْلَصِينَ
37:169
We would have been God's faithful servants.” - Talal Itani (English)
37:170
فَكَفَرُوا۟ بِهِۦ ۖ فَسَوْفَ يَعْلَمُونَ
37:170
But they rejected it, so they will find out. - Talal Itani (English)
37:171
وَلَقَدْ سَبَقَتْ كَلِمَتُنَا لِعِبَادِنَا ٱلْمُرْسَلِينَ
37:171
Our Word has already gone out to our servant messengers. - Talal Itani (English)
37:172
إِنَّهُمْ لَهُمُ ٱلْمَنصُورُونَ
37:172
It is they who will be supported. - Talal Itani (English)
37:173
وَإِنَّ جُندَنَا لَهُمُ ٱلْغَـٰلِبُونَ
37:173
And Our troops will be the victors. - Talal Itani (English)
37:174
فَتَوَلَّ عَنْهُمْ حَتَّىٰ حِينٍ
37:174
So disregard them for a while. - Talal Itani (English)
37:175
وَأَبْصِرْهُمْ فَسَوْفَ يُبْصِرُونَ
37:175
And watch them—they will soon see. - Talal Itani (English)
37:176
أَفَبِعَذَابِنَا يَسْتَعْجِلُونَ
37:176
Are they seeking to hasten Our punishment? - Talal Itani (English)
37:177
فَإِذَا نَزَلَ بِسَاحَتِهِمْ فَسَآءَ صَبَاحُ ٱلْمُنذَرِينَ
37:177
When it descends into their yard, miserable will be the morning of those forewarned. - Talal Itani (English)
37:178
وَتَوَلَّ عَنْهُمْ حَتَّىٰ حِينٍ
37:178
So avoid them for a while. - Talal Itani (English)
37:179
وَأَبْصِرْ فَسَوْفَ يُبْصِرُونَ
37:179
And watch—they will soon see. - Talal Itani (English)
37:180
سُبْحَـٰنَ رَبِّكَ رَبِّ ٱلْعِزَّةِ عَمَّا يَصِفُونَ
37:180
Exalted be your Lord, the Lord of Glory, beyond their allegations. - Talal Itani (English)
37:181
وَسَلَـٰمٌ عَلَى ٱلْمُرْسَلِينَ
37:181
And peace be upon the messengers. - Talal Itani (English)
37:182
وَٱلْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ رَبِّ ٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ
37:182
And praise be to God, the Lord of the Worlds. - Talal Itani (English)
