بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful.

56:1 إِذَا وَقَعَتِ ٱلْوَاقِعَةُ
56:1 When there happeneth Event. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)

56:2 لَيْسَ لِوَقْعَتِهَا كَاذِبَةٌ
56:2 There is about its happening no lie. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)

56:3 خَافِضَةٌ رَّافِعَةٌ
56:3 Abasing exalting. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)

56:4 إِذَا رُجَّتِ ٱلْأَرْضُ رَجًّا
56:4 This will happen when the earth is shaken, shaken - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)

56:5 وَبُسَّتِ ٱلْجِبَالُ بَسًّا
56:5 And the mountains are crumbled, crumbled. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)

56:6 فَكَانَتْ هَبَآءً مُّنۢبَثًّا
56:6 So that they become dust seattered. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)

56:7 وَكُنتُمْ أَزْوَٰجًا ثَلَـٰثَةً
56:7 And ye are classes three. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)

56:8 فَأَصْحَـٰبُ ٱلْمَيْمَنَةِ مَآ أَصْحَـٰبُ ٱلْمَيْمَنَةِ
56:8 Those on the right hand; how happy shall those on the right hand be! - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)

56:9 وَأَصْحَـٰبُ ٱلْمَشْـَٔمَةِ مَآ أَصْحَـٰبُ ٱلْمَشْـَٔمَةِ
56:9 And those on the left hand; how miserable shall those on the left hand be! - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)

56:10 وَٱلسَّـٰبِقُونَ ٱلسَّـٰبِقُونَ
56:10 And the preceders are the pre-ceders. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)

56:11 أُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَ ٱلْمُقَرَّبُونَ
56:11 Those! they shall be the brought nigh, - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)

56:12 فِى جَنَّـٰتِ ٱلنَّعِيمِ
56:12 In Gardens of Delight. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)

56:13 ثُلَّةٌ مِّنَ ٱلْأَوَّلِينَ
56:13 A multitude from the ancients. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)

56:14 وَقَلِيلٌ مِّنَ ٱلْـَٔاخِرِينَ
56:14 And a few from the later generations. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)

56:15 عَلَىٰ سُرُرٍ مَّوْضُونَةٍ
56:15 On couches in wrought with gold. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)

56:16 مُّتَّكِـِٔينَ عَلَيْهَا مُتَقَـٰبِلِينَ
56:16 Reclining thereon facing each other. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)

56:17 يَطُوفُ عَلَيْهِمْ وِلْدَٰنٌ مُّخَلَّدُونَ
56:17 There shall go round Unto them youths ever-young. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)

56:18 بِأَكْوَابٍ وَأَبَارِيقَ وَكَأْسٍ مِّن مَّعِينٍ
56:18 With goblets and ewers and a cup of limpid drink. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)

56:19 لَّا يُصَدَّعُونَ عَنْهَا وَلَا يُنزِفُونَ
56:19 Whereby there shall be neither headiness nor will they be inebriated. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)

56:20 وَفَـٰكِهَةٍ مِّمَّا يَتَخَيَّرُونَ
56:20 And with fruit from that which they choose. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)

56:21 وَلَحْمِ طَيْرٍ مِّمَّا يَشْتَهُونَ
56:21 And with flesh of fowls from that Which they desire. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)

56:22 وَحُورٌ عِينٌ
56:22 And there will be fair ones large eyed. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)

56:23 كَأَمْثَـٰلِ ٱللُّؤْلُؤِ ٱلْمَكْنُونِ
56:23 The likes Unto pearls hidden. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)

56:24 جَزَآءًۢ بِمَا كَانُوا۟ يَعْمَلُونَ
56:24 A recompense for that which they have been working. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)

56:25 لَا يَسْمَعُونَ فِيهَا لَغْوًا وَلَا تَأْثِيمًا
56:25 Therein they hear no vain or sinful discourse. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)

56:26 إِلَّا قِيلًا سَلَـٰمًا سَلَـٰمًا
56:26 Nought but the saying: peace! peace! - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)

56:27 وَأَصْحَـٰبُ ٱلْيَمِينِ مَآ أَصْحَـٰبُ ٱلْيَمِينِ
56:27 And the fellows on the right hand; how be happy shall the fellows on the right hand be! - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)

56:28 فِى سِدْرٍ مَّخْضُودٍ
56:28 Midst lote-trees thornless. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)

56:29 وَطَلْحٍ مَّنضُودٍ
56:29 And plantains laden with fruit. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)

56:30 وَظِلٍّ مَّمْدُودٍ
56:30 And a shade ever-spread. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)

56:31 وَمَآءٍ مَّسْكُوبٍ
56:31 And water everflowing. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)

56:32 وَفَـٰكِهَةٍ كَثِيرَةٍ
56:32 And fruit abundant. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)

56:33 لَّا مَقْطُوعَةٍ وَلَا مَمْنُوعَةٍ
56:33 Neither ending nor forbidden. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)

56:34 وَفُرُشٍ مَّرْفُوعَةٍ
56:34 And carpets raised. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)

56:35 إِنَّآ أَنشَأْنَـٰهُنَّ إِنشَآءً
56:35 Verily We! We have created those maidens by a creation. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)

56:36 فَجَعَلْنَـٰهُنَّ أَبْكَارًا
56:36 And have made them virgins. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)

56:37 عُرُبًا أَتْرَابًا
56:37 Loving, of equal age. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)

56:38 لِّأَصْحَـٰبِ ٱلْيَمِينِ
56:38 For the fellows on the right hand. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)

56:39 ثُلَّةٌ مِّنَ ٱلْأَوَّلِينَ
56:39 A multitude from the ancients. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)

56:40 وَثُلَّةٌ مِّنَ ٱلْـَٔاخِرِينَ
56:40 And a multitude from the later generations. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)

56:41 وَأَصْحَـٰبُ ٱلشِّمَالِ مَآ أَصْحَـٰبُ ٱلشِّمَالِ
56:41 And the fellows on the left hand; how miserable Shall the fellows on the left hand be! - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)

56:42 فِى سَمُومٍ وَحَمِيمٍ
56:42 Amidst scorching wind and scalding water. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)

56:43 وَظِلٍّ مِّن يَحْمُومٍ
56:43 And the shade of black smoke. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)

56:44 لَّا بَارِدٍ وَلَا كَرِيمٍ
56:44 Neither cool nor pleasant. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)

56:45 إِنَّهُمْ كَانُوا۟ قَبْلَ ذَٰلِكَ مُتْرَفِينَ
56:45 Verily they have been heretofore affluent. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)

56:46 وَكَانُوا۟ يُصِرُّونَ عَلَى ٱلْحِنثِ ٱلْعَظِيمِ
56:46 And they have been persisting in the heinous offence. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)

56:47 وَكَانُوا۟ يَقُولُونَ أَئِذَا مِتْنَا وَكُنَّا تُرَابًا وَعِظَـٰمًا أَءِنَّا لَمَبْعُوثُونَ
56:47 And they were wont to say: when we have died and become dust and bones, shall we, then, verily be raised? - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)

56:48 أَوَءَابَآؤُنَا ٱلْأَوَّلُونَ
56:48 We and our fathers of old? - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)

56:49 قُلْ إِنَّ ٱلْأَوَّلِينَ وَٱلْـَٔاخِرِينَ
56:49 Say thou: verily the ancients and those of later generations: - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)

56:50 لَمَجْمُوعُونَ إِلَىٰ مِيقَـٰتِ يَوْمٍ مَّعْلُومٍ
56:50 Are going to be assembled on the appointed time of a Day Known. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)

56:51 ثُمَّ إِنَّكُمْ أَيُّهَا ٱلضَّآلُّونَ ٱلْمُكَذِّبُونَ
56:51 Then verily ye, O ye erring, denying people. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)

56:52 لَـَٔاكِلُونَ مِن شَجَرٍ مِّن زَقُّومٍ
56:52 Shall surely eat of the tree of Az-Zqqum. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)

56:53 فَمَالِـُٔونَ مِنْهَا ٱلْبُطُونَ
56:53 And shall fill therewith your bellies. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)

56:54 فَشَـٰرِبُونَ عَلَيْهِ مِنَ ٱلْحَمِيمِ
56:54 And shall be drinkers thereon of boiling water. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)

56:55 فَشَـٰرِبُونَ شُرْبَ ٱلْهِيمِ
56:55 Drinkers even as the drinking of thirsty camels. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)

56:56 هَـٰذَا نُزُلُهُمْ يَوْمَ ٱلدِّينِ
56:56 This shall be their entertainment on the Day of Requital. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)

56:57 نَحْنُ خَلَقْنَـٰكُمْ فَلَوْلَا تُصَدِّقُونَ
56:57 We! it is We Who created you: wherefore confess ye not? - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)

56:58 أَفَرَءَيْتُم مَّا تُمْنُونَ
56:58 Behold! - that which ye emit. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)

56:59 ءَأَنتُمْ تَخْلُقُونَهُۥٓ أَمْ نَحْنُ ٱلْخَـٰلِقُونَ
56:59 Create him ye, or are We the Creator? - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)

56:60 نَحْنُ قَدَّرْنَا بَيْنَكُمُ ٱلْمَوْتَ وَمَا نَحْنُ بِمَسْبُوقِينَ
56:60 We! it is We Who have decreed death Unto you all. And We are not to be outrun. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)

56:61 عَلَىٰٓ أَن نُّبَدِّلَ أَمْثَـٰلَكُمْ وَنُنشِئَكُمْ فِى مَا لَا تَعْلَمُونَ
56:61 That We may substitute others like Unto you and produce you into that which ye know not. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)

56:62 وَلَقَدْ عَلِمْتُمُ ٱلنَّشْأَةَ ٱلْأُولَىٰ فَلَوْلَا تَذَكَّرُونَ
56:62 And assuredly ye have fully known the first Production Wherefore heed ye not? - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)

56:63 أَفَرَءَيْتُم مَّا تَحْرُثُونَ
56:63 Behold! - that which ye sow. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)

56:64 ءَأَنتُمْ تَزْرَعُونَهُۥٓ أَمْ نَحْنُ ٱلزَّٰرِعُونَ
56:64 Cause it ye to grow, or are We the Grower? - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)

56:65 لَوْ نَشَآءُ لَجَعَلْنَـٰهُ حُطَـٰمًا فَظَلْتُمْ تَفَكَّهُونَ
56:65 If We willed, surely We would make it chaff, so that ye would be left wondering. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)

56:66 إِنَّا لَمُغْرَمُونَ
56:66 Verily we are undone. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)

56:67 بَلْ نَحْنُ مَحْرُومُونَ
56:67 Aye! we are deprived! - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)

56:68 أَفَرَءَيْتُمُ ٱلْمَآءَ ٱلَّذِى تَشْرَبُونَ
56:68 Behold! - the water which ye drink: - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)

56:69 ءَأَنتُمْ أَنزَلْتُمُوهُ مِنَ ٱلْمُزْنِ أَمْ نَحْنُ ٱلْمُنزِلُونَ
56:69 Send it down ye from the raincloud, or are We the Sender down? - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)

56:70 لَوْ نَشَآءُ جَعَلْنَـٰهُ أُجَاجًا فَلَوْلَا تَشْكُرُونَ
56:70 If We willed, surely We would make it brackish. Wherefore give ye not thanks? - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)

56:71 أَفَرَءَيْتُمُ ٱلنَّارَ ٱلَّتِى تُورُونَ
56:71 Behold! - the fire which ye strike out: - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)

56:72 ءَأَنتُمْ أَنشَأْتُمْ شَجَرَتَهَآ أَمْ نَحْنُ ٱلْمُنشِـُٔونَ
56:72 Produce ye the tree thereof, or are We the Producer? - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)

56:73 نَحْنُ جَعَلْنَـٰهَا تَذْكِرَةً وَمَتَـٰعًا لِّلْمُقْوِينَ
56:73 We! it is We Who made it a reminder and a provision Unto the campers. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)

56:74 فَسَبِّحْ بِٱسْمِ رَبِّكَ ٱلْعَظِيمِ
56:74 Wherefore hallow thou the name of thy Lord, the Mighty. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)

56:75 ۞ فَلَآ أُقْسِمُ بِمَوَٰقِعِ ٱلنُّجُومِ
56:75 I swear by the setting of the stars - - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)

56:76 وَإِنَّهُۥ لَقَسَمٌ لَّوْ تَعْلَمُونَ عَظِيمٌ
56:76 And verily that is a mighty oath, if ye but knew! - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)

56:77 إِنَّهُۥ لَقُرْءَانٌ كَرِيمٌ
56:77 That it is a Recitation honourable. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)

56:78 فِى كِتَـٰبٍ مَّكْنُونٍ
56:78 In a Book Hidden. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)

56:79 لَّا يَمَسُّهُۥٓ إِلَّا ٱلْمُطَهَّرُونَ
56:79 Which none can touch except the purified. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)

56:80 تَنزِيلٌ مِّن رَّبِّ ٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ
56:80 It is a revelation from the Lord of the worlds. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)

56:81 أَفَبِهَـٰذَا ٱلْحَدِيثِ أَنتُم مُّدْهِنُونَ
56:81 Is it this discourse that ye hold lightly? - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)

56:82 وَتَجْعَلُونَ رِزْقَكُمْ أَنَّكُمْ تُكَذِّبُونَ
56:82 And make it your provision that ye should belie it? - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)

56:83 فَلَوْلَآ إِذَا بَلَغَتِ ٱلْحُلْقُومَ
56:83 Wherefore then - when the soul cometh up to the wind-pipe - - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)

56:84 وَأَنتُمْ حِينَئِذٍ تَنظُرُونَ
56:84 And ye are then looking on. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)

56:85 وَنَحْنُ أَقْرَبُ إِلَيْهِ مِنكُمْ وَلَـٰكِن لَّا تُبْصِرُونَ
56:85 And We are nigher Unto him than ye are, but ye behold not- - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)

56:86 فَلَوْلَآ إِن كُنتُمْ غَيْرَ مَدِينِينَ
56:86 Wherefore then, if ye are not to be requited - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)

56:87 تَرْجِعُونَهَآ إِن كُنتُمْ صَـٰدِقِينَ
56:87 Cause ye it not to return, if ye say sooth? - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)

56:88 فَأَمَّآ إِن كَانَ مِنَ ٱلْمُقَرَّبِينَ
56:88 Then if he be of the broughtnigh. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)

56:89 فَرَوْحٌ وَرَيْحَانٌ وَجَنَّتُ نَعِيمٍ
56:89 For him shall be comfort, and fragrance and a Garden of Delight. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)

56:90 وَأَمَّآ إِن كَانَ مِنْ أَصْحَـٰبِ ٱلْيَمِينِ
56:90 And if he be of the fellows on the right hand, - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)

56:91 فَسَلَـٰمٌ لَّكَ مِنْ أَصْحَـٰبِ ٱلْيَمِينِ
56:91 Then: peace Unto thee, for thou art of those on the right hand. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)

56:92 وَأَمَّآ إِن كَانَ مِنَ ٱلْمُكَذِّبِينَ ٱلضَّآلِّينَ
56:92 And if he be of the beliers, the erring, - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)

56:93 فَنُزُلٌ مِّنْ حَمِيمٍ
56:93 Then an entertainment of boiling water. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)

56:94 وَتَصْلِيَةُ جَحِيمٍ
56:94 And roasting in a Blaze. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)

56:95 إِنَّ هَـٰذَا لَهُوَ حَقُّ ٱلْيَقِينِ
56:95 Verily this! this is the very truth. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)

56:96 فَسَبِّحْ بِٱسْمِ رَبِّكَ ٱلْعَظِيمِ
56:96 Wherefore hallow thou the name of thy Lord, the Mighty! - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
