بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful.
77:1
وَٱلْمُرْسَلَـٰتِ عُرْفًا
77:1
By the winds sent forth in swift succession, - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
77:2
فَٱلْعَـٰصِفَـٰتِ عَصْفًا
77:2
and then storming on with a tempest's force, - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
77:3
وَٱلنَّـٰشِرَٰتِ نَشْرًا
77:3
and the rain-spreading winds, - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
77:4
فَٱلْفَـٰرِقَـٰتِ فَرْقًا
77:4
separating one from another, - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
77:5
فَٱلْمُلْقِيَـٰتِ ذِكْرًا
77:5
by those who bring down the reminder, - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
77:6
عُذْرًا أَوْ نُذْرًا
77:6
to excuse some and warn others: - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
77:7
إِنَّمَا تُوعَدُونَ لَوَٰقِعٌ
77:7
that which you have been promised shall be fulfilled. - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
77:8
فَإِذَا ٱلنُّجُومُ طُمِسَتْ
77:8
When the stars lose their light, - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
77:9
وَإِذَا ٱلسَّمَآءُ فُرِجَتْ
77:9
and when the sky is rent asunder, - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
77:10
وَإِذَا ٱلْجِبَالُ نُسِفَتْ
77:10
and when the mountains crumble into dust - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
77:11
وَإِذَا ٱلرُّسُلُ أُقِّتَتْ
77:11
and when the messengers are brought together at the appointed time -- - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
77:12
لِأَىِّ يَوْمٍ أُجِّلَتْ
77:12
for what Day has this been appointed? - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
77:13
لِيَوْمِ ٱلْفَصْلِ
77:13
For the Day of Decision. - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
77:14
وَمَآ أَدْرَىٰكَ مَا يَوْمُ ٱلْفَصْلِ
77:14
What will explain to you what the Day of Judgement is? - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
77:15
وَيْلٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ لِّلْمُكَذِّبِينَ
77:15
Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth. - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
77:16
أَلَمْ نُهْلِكِ ٱلْأَوَّلِينَ
77:16
Did We not destroy the earlier peoples? - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
77:17
ثُمَّ نُتْبِعُهُمُ ٱلْـَٔاخِرِينَ
77:17
We will now cause the later ones to follow them: - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
77:18
كَذَٰلِكَ نَفْعَلُ بِٱلْمُجْرِمِينَ
77:18
thus do We deal with the culprits. - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
77:19
وَيْلٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ لِّلْمُكَذِّبِينَ
77:19
Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
77:20
أَلَمْ نَخْلُقكُّم مِّن مَّآءٍ مَّهِينٍ
77:20
Did We not create you from a humble fluid, - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
77:21
فَجَعَلْنَـٰهُ فِى قَرَارٍ مَّكِينٍ
77:21
then placed it in a secure repository [the womb], - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
77:22
إِلَىٰ قَدَرٍ مَّعْلُومٍ
77:22
for an appointed term? - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
77:23
فَقَدَرْنَا فَنِعْمَ ٱلْقَـٰدِرُونَ
77:23
Thus We have determined the stages of development and Our power to determine is excellent indeed. - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
77:24
وَيْلٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ لِّلْمُكَذِّبِينَ
77:24
Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
77:25
أَلَمْ نَجْعَلِ ٱلْأَرْضَ كِفَاتًا
77:25
Have We not made the earth a receptacle, - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
77:26
أَحْيَآءً وَأَمْوَٰتًا
77:26
for the living and the dead? - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
77:27
وَجَعَلْنَا فِيهَا رَوَٰسِىَ شَـٰمِخَـٰتٍ وَأَسْقَيْنَـٰكُم مَّآءً فُرَاتًا
77:27
Have We not placed high mountains upon it and given you fresh water to drink? - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
77:28
وَيْلٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ لِّلْمُكَذِّبِينَ
77:28
Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
77:29
ٱنطَلِقُوٓا۟ إِلَىٰ مَا كُنتُم بِهِۦ تُكَذِّبُونَ
77:29
Proceed to that which you denied. - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
77:30
ٱنطَلِقُوٓا۟ إِلَىٰ ظِلٍّ ذِى ثَلَـٰثِ شُعَبٍ
77:30
Proceed to a shadow rising in three columns: - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
77:31
لَّا ظَلِيلٍ وَلَا يُغْنِى مِنَ ٱللَّهَبِ
77:31
affording neither shade, nor protection from the flames, - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
77:32
إِنَّهَا تَرْمِى بِشَرَرٍ كَٱلْقَصْرِ
77:32
and throwing up sparks as huge as towers - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
77:33
كَأَنَّهُۥ جِمَـٰلَتٌ صُفْرٌ
77:33
and as bright as a herd of yellow camels. - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
77:34
وَيْلٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ لِّلْمُكَذِّبِينَ
77:34
Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
77:35
هَـٰذَا يَوْمُ لَا يَنطِقُونَ
77:35
On that Day they will be speechless, - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
77:36
وَلَا يُؤْذَنُ لَهُمْ فَيَعْتَذِرُونَ
77:36
nor shall they be permitted to offer excuses. - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
77:37
وَيْلٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ لِّلْمُكَذِّبِينَ
77:37
Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
77:38
هَـٰذَا يَوْمُ ٱلْفَصْلِ ۖ جَمَعْنَـٰكُمْ وَٱلْأَوَّلِينَ
77:38
This is the Day of Judgement. We have assembled you all together with past generations. - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
77:39
فَإِن كَانَ لَكُمْ كَيْدٌ فَكِيدُونِ
77:39
If now you have any strategy, use it against Me. - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
77:40
وَيْلٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ لِّلْمُكَذِّبِينَ
77:40
Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
77:41
إِنَّ ٱلْمُتَّقِينَ فِى ظِلَـٰلٍ وَعُيُونٍ
77:41
The righteous shall dwell amidst cool shades and fountains, - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
77:42
وَفَوَٰكِهَ مِمَّا يَشْتَهُونَ
77:42
and shall have fruits such as they desire; - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
77:43
كُلُوا۟ وَٱشْرَبُوا۟ هَنِيٓـًٔۢا بِمَا كُنتُمْ تَعْمَلُونَ
77:43
[They will be told], "Eat and drink with relish in return for what you did [in life]: - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
77:44
إِنَّا كَذَٰلِكَ نَجْزِى ٱلْمُحْسِنِينَ
77:44
this is how We reward those who do good." - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
77:45
وَيْلٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ لِّلْمُكَذِّبِينَ
77:45
[But] woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
77:46
كُلُوا۟ وَتَمَتَّعُوا۟ قَلِيلًا إِنَّكُم مُّجْرِمُونَ
77:46
Eat [your fill] and enjoy your life for a little while, O you who are lost in sin. - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
77:47
وَيْلٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ لِّلْمُكَذِّبِينَ
77:47
Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
77:48
وَإِذَا قِيلَ لَهُمُ ٱرْكَعُوا۟ لَا يَرْكَعُونَ
77:48
When they are bidden to bow down, they do not bow down. - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
77:49
وَيْلٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ لِّلْمُكَذِّبِينَ
77:49
Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
77:50
فَبِأَىِّ حَدِيثٍۭ بَعْدَهُۥ يُؤْمِنُونَ
77:50
In which word then, after this, will they believe? - Wahiduddin Khan (English)
