بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful.
84:1
إِذَا ٱلسَّمَآءُ ٱنشَقَّتْ
84:1
When the heaven bursts asunder, - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
84:2
وَأَذِنَتْ لِرَبِّهَا وَحُقَّتْ
84:2
And obeys its Lord and it must. - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
84:3
وَإِذَا ٱلْأَرْضُ مُدَّتْ
84:3
And when the earth is stretched, - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
84:4
وَأَلْقَتْ مَا فِيهَا وَتَخَلَّتْ
84:4
And casts forth what is in it and becomes empty, - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
84:5
وَأَذِنَتْ لِرَبِّهَا وَحُقَّتْ
84:5
And obeys its Lord and it must. - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
84:6
يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلْإِنسَـٰنُ إِنَّكَ كَادِحٌ إِلَىٰ رَبِّكَ كَدْحًا فَمُلَـٰقِيهِ
84:6
O man! surely you must strive (to attain) to your Lord, a hard striving until you meet Him. - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
84:7
فَأَمَّا مَنْ أُوتِىَ كِتَـٰبَهُۥ بِيَمِينِهِۦ
84:7
Then as to him who is given his book in his right hand, - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
84:8
فَسَوْفَ يُحَاسَبُ حِسَابًا يَسِيرًا
84:8
He shall be reckoned with by an easy reckoning, - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
84:9
وَيَنقَلِبُ إِلَىٰٓ أَهْلِهِۦ مَسْرُورًا
84:9
And he shall go back to his people joyful. - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
84:10
وَأَمَّا مَنْ أُوتِىَ كِتَـٰبَهُۥ وَرَآءَ ظَهْرِهِۦ
84:10
And as to him who is given his book behind his back, - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
84:11
فَسَوْفَ يَدْعُوا۟ ثُبُورًا
84:11
He shall call for perdition, - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
84:12
وَيَصْلَىٰ سَعِيرًا
84:12
And enter into burning fire. - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
84:13
إِنَّهُۥ كَانَ فِىٓ أَهْلِهِۦ مَسْرُورًا
84:13
Surely he was (erstwhile) joyful among his followers. - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
84:14
إِنَّهُۥ ظَنَّ أَن لَّن يَحُورَ
84:14
Surely he thought that he would never return. - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
84:15
بَلَىٰٓ إِنَّ رَبَّهُۥ كَانَ بِهِۦ بَصِيرًا
84:15
Yea! surely his Lord does ever see him. - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
84:16
فَلَآ أُقْسِمُ بِٱلشَّفَقِ
84:16
But nay! I swear by the sunset redness, - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
84:17
وَٱلَّيْلِ وَمَا وَسَقَ
84:17
And the night and that which it drives on, - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
84:18
وَٱلْقَمَرِ إِذَا ٱتَّسَقَ
84:18
And the moon when it grows full, - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
84:19
لَتَرْكَبُنَّ طَبَقًا عَن طَبَقٍ
84:19
That you shall most certainly enter one state after another. - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
84:20
فَمَا لَهُمْ لَا يُؤْمِنُونَ
84:20
But what is the matter with them that they do not believe, - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
84:21
وَإِذَا قُرِئَ عَلَيْهِمُ ٱلْقُرْءَانُ لَا يَسْجُدُونَ ۩
84:21
And when the Quran is recited to them they do not make obeisance? - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
84:22
بَلِ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ يُكَذِّبُونَ
84:22
Nay! those who disbelieve give the lie to the truth. - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
84:23
وَٱللَّهُ أَعْلَمُ بِمَا يُوعُونَ
84:23
And Allah knows best what they hide, - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
84:24
فَبَشِّرْهُم بِعَذَابٍ أَلِيمٍ
84:24
So announce to them a painful punishment~ - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
84:25
إِلَّا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ وَعَمِلُوا۟ ٱلصَّـٰلِحَـٰتِ لَهُمْ أَجْرٌ غَيْرُ مَمْنُونٍۭ
84:25
Except those who believe and do good; for them is a reward that shall never be cut off. - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
