Wahiduddin Khan
بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful.
55:1
ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنُ
55:1
The All-beneficent - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
55:2
عَلَّمَ ٱلْقُرْءَانَ
55:2
has taught the Quran. - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
55:3
خَلَقَ ٱلْإِنسَـٰنَ
55:3
He created man, - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
55:4
عَلَّمَهُ ٱلْبَيَانَ
55:4
[and] taught him articulate speech. - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
55:5
ٱلشَّمْسُ وَٱلْقَمَرُ بِحُسْبَانٍ
55:5
The sun and the moon are [disposed] calculatedly, - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
55:6
وَٱلنَّجْمُ وَٱلشَّجَرُ يَسْجُدَانِ
55:6
and the herb and the tree prostrate [to Allah]. - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
55:7
وَٱلسَّمَآءَ رَفَعَهَا وَوَضَعَ ٱلْمِيزَانَ
55:7
He raised the heaven high and set up the balance, - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
55:8
أَلَّا تَطْغَوْا۟ فِى ٱلْمِيزَانِ
55:8
declaring, ‘Do not infringe the balance! - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
55:9
وَأَقِيمُوا۟ ٱلْوَزْنَ بِٱلْقِسْطِ وَلَا تُخْسِرُوا۟ ٱلْمِيزَانَ
55:9
Maintain the weights with justice, and do not shorten the balance!’ - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
55:10
وَٱلْأَرْضَ وَضَعَهَا لِلْأَنَامِ
55:10
And the earth—He laid it out for mankind. - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
55:11
فِيهَا فَـٰكِهَةٌ وَٱلنَّخْلُ ذَاتُ ٱلْأَكْمَامِ
55:11
In it are fruits and date-palms with sheaths, - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
55:12
وَٱلْحَبُّ ذُو ٱلْعَصْفِ وَٱلرَّيْحَانُ
55:12
grain with husk, and fragrant herbs. - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
55:13
فَبِأَىِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
55:13
So which of your Lord’s bounties will you both deny? - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
55:14
خَلَقَ ٱلْإِنسَـٰنَ مِن صَلْصَـٰلٍ كَٱلْفَخَّارِ
55:14
He created man out of dry clay, like the potter’s, - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
55:15
وَخَلَقَ ٱلْجَآنَّ مِن مَّارِجٍ مِّن نَّارٍ
55:15
and created the jinn out of a flame of a fire. - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
55:16
فَبِأَىِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
55:16
So which of your Lord’s bounties will you both deny? - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
55:17
رَبُّ ٱلْمَشْرِقَيْنِ وَرَبُّ ٱلْمَغْرِبَيْنِ
55:17
Lord of the two easts, and Lord of the two wests! - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
55:18
فَبِأَىِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
55:18
So which of your Lord’s bounties will you both deny? - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
55:19
مَرَجَ ٱلْبَحْرَيْنِ يَلْتَقِيَانِ
55:19
He merged the two seas, meeting each other. - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
55:20
بَيْنَهُمَا بَرْزَخٌ لَّا يَبْغِيَانِ
55:20
There is a barrier between them, which they do not overstep. - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
55:21
فَبِأَىِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
55:21
So which of your Lord’s bounties will you both deny? - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
55:22
يَخْرُجُ مِنْهُمَا ٱللُّؤْلُؤُ وَٱلْمَرْجَانُ
55:22
From them emerge the pearl and the coral. - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
55:23
فَبِأَىِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
55:23
So which of your Lord’s bounties will you both deny? - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
55:24
وَلَهُ ٱلْجَوَارِ ٱلْمُنشَـَٔاتُ فِى ٱلْبَحْرِ كَٱلْأَعْلَـٰمِ
55:24
His are the sailing ships on the sea [appearing] like landmarks. - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
55:25
فَبِأَىِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
55:25
So which of your Lord’s bounties will you both deny? - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
55:26
كُلُّ مَنْ عَلَيْهَا فَانٍ
55:26
Everyone on it is ephemeral, - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
55:27
وَيَبْقَىٰ وَجْهُ رَبِّكَ ذُو ٱلْجَلَـٰلِ وَٱلْإِكْرَامِ
55:27
yet lasting is the majestic and munificent Face of your Lord. - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
55:28
فَبِأَىِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
55:28
So which of your Lord’s bounties will you both deny? - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
55:29
يَسْـَٔلُهُۥ مَن فِى ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ ۚ كُلَّ يَوْمٍ هُوَ فِى شَأْنٍ
55:29
Everyone in the heavens and the earth asks Him. Every day He is engaged in some work. - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
55:30
فَبِأَىِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
55:30
So which of your Lord’s bounties will you both deny? - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
55:31
سَنَفْرُغُ لَكُمْ أَيُّهَ ٱلثَّقَلَانِ
55:31
Soon We shall make Ourselves unoccupied for you, O you notable two! - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
55:32
فَبِأَىِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
55:32
So which of your Lord’s bounties will you both deny? - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
55:33
يَـٰمَعْشَرَ ٱلْجِنِّ وَٱلْإِنسِ إِنِ ٱسْتَطَعْتُمْ أَن تَنفُذُوا۟ مِنْ أَقْطَارِ ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ فَٱنفُذُوا۟ ۚ لَا تَنفُذُونَ إِلَّا بِسُلْطَـٰنٍ
55:33
O company of jinn and humans! If you can pass through the confines of the heavens and the earth, then do pass through. But you will not pass through except by an authority [from Allah]. - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
55:34
فَبِأَىِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
55:34
So which of your Lord’s bounties will you both deny? - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
55:35
يُرْسَلُ عَلَيْكُمَا شُوَاظٌ مِّن نَّارٍ وَنُحَاسٌ فَلَا تَنتَصِرَانِ
55:35
There will be unleashed upon you a flash of fire and a smoke; then you will not be able to help one another. - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
55:36
فَبِأَىِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
55:36
So which of your Lord’s bounties will you both deny? - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
55:37
فَإِذَا ٱنشَقَّتِ ٱلسَّمَآءُ فَكَانَتْ وَرْدَةً كَٱلدِّهَانِ
55:37
When the sky is split open, and turns crimson like tanned leather. - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
55:38
فَبِأَىِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
55:38
So which of your Lord’s bounties will you both deny? - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
55:39
فَيَوْمَئِذٍ لَّا يُسْـَٔلُ عَن ذَنۢبِهِۦٓ إِنسٌ وَلَا جَآنٌّ
55:39
On that day neither humans will be questioned about their sins nor jinn. - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
55:40
فَبِأَىِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
55:40
So which of your Lord’s bounties will you both deny? - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
55:41
يُعْرَفُ ٱلْمُجْرِمُونَ بِسِيمَـٰهُمْ فَيُؤْخَذُ بِٱلنَّوَٰصِى وَٱلْأَقْدَامِ
55:41
The guilty will be recognized by their mark; so they will be seized by their forelocks and feet. - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
55:42
فَبِأَىِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
55:42
So which of your Lord’s bounties will you both deny? - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
55:43
هَـٰذِهِۦ جَهَنَّمُ ٱلَّتِى يُكَذِّبُ بِهَا ٱلْمُجْرِمُونَ
55:43
‘This is the hell which the guilty would deny!’ - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
55:44
يَطُوفُونَ بَيْنَهَا وَبَيْنَ حَمِيمٍ ءَانٍ
55:44
They shall circuit between it and boiling hot water. - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
55:45
فَبِأَىِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
55:45
So which of your Lord’s bounties will you both deny? - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
55:46
وَلِمَنْ خَافَ مَقَامَ رَبِّهِۦ جَنَّتَانِ
55:46
For him who stands in awe of his Lord will be two gardens. - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
55:47
فَبِأَىِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
55:47
So which of your Lord’s bounties will you both deny? - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
55:48
ذَوَاتَآ أَفْنَانٍ
55:48
Both abounding in branches. - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
55:49
فَبِأَىِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
55:49
So which of your Lord’s bounties will you both deny? - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
55:50
فِيهِمَا عَيْنَانِ تَجْرِيَانِ
55:50
In both of them will be two flowing springs. - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
55:51
فَبِأَىِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
55:51
So which of your Lord’s bounties will you both deny? - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
55:52
فِيهِمَا مِن كُلِّ فَـٰكِهَةٍ زَوْجَانِ
55:52
In both of them will be two kinds of every fruit. - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
55:53
فَبِأَىِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
55:53
So which of your Lord’s bounties will you both deny? - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
55:54
مُتَّكِـِٔينَ عَلَىٰ فُرُشٍۭ بَطَآئِنُهَا مِنْ إِسْتَبْرَقٍ ۚ وَجَنَى ٱلْجَنَّتَيْنِ دَانٍ
55:54
[They will be] reclining on beds lined with green silk. And the fruit of the two gardens will be near at hand. - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
55:55
فَبِأَىِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
55:55
So which of your Lord’s bounties will you both deny? - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
55:56
فِيهِنَّ قَـٰصِرَٰتُ ٱلطَّرْفِ لَمْ يَطْمِثْهُنَّ إِنسٌ قَبْلَهُمْ وَلَا جَآنٌّ
55:56
In them are maidens of restrained glances, whom no human has touched before, nor jinn. - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
55:57
فَبِأَىِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
55:57
So which of your Lord’s bounties will you both deny? - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
55:58
كَأَنَّهُنَّ ٱلْيَاقُوتُ وَٱلْمَرْجَانُ
55:58
As though they were rubies and corals. - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
55:59
فَبِأَىِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
55:59
So which of your Lord’s bounties will you both deny? - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
55:60
هَلْ جَزَآءُ ٱلْإِحْسَـٰنِ إِلَّا ٱلْإِحْسَـٰنُ
55:60
Is the requital of goodness anything but goodness? - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
55:61
فَبِأَىِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
55:61
So which of your Lord’s bounties will you both deny? - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
55:62
وَمِن دُونِهِمَا جَنَّتَانِ
55:62
Beside these two, there will be two [other] gardens. - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
55:63
فَبِأَىِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
55:63
So which of your Lord’s bounties will you both deny? - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
55:64
مُدْهَآمَّتَانِ
55:64
Dark green. - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
55:65
فَبِأَىِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
55:65
So which of your Lord’s bounties will you both deny? - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
55:66
فِيهِمَا عَيْنَانِ نَضَّاخَتَانِ
55:66
In both of them will be two gushing springs. - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
55:67
فَبِأَىِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
55:67
So which of your Lord’s bounties will you both deny? - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
55:68
فِيهِمَا فَـٰكِهَةٌ وَنَخْلٌ وَرُمَّانٌ
55:68
In both of them will be fruits, date-palms and pomegranates. - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
55:69
فَبِأَىِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
55:69
So which of your Lord’s bounties will you both deny? - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
55:70
فِيهِنَّ خَيْرَٰتٌ حِسَانٌ
55:70
In them are maidens good and lovely. - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
55:71
فَبِأَىِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
55:71
So which of your Lord’s bounties will you both deny? - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
55:72
حُورٌ مَّقْصُورَٰتٌ فِى ٱلْخِيَامِ
55:72
Houris secluded in pavilions. - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
55:73
فَبِأَىِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
55:73
So which of your Lord’s bounties will you both deny? - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
55:74
لَمْ يَطْمِثْهُنَّ إِنسٌ قَبْلَهُمْ وَلَا جَآنٌّ
55:74
Whom no human has touched before, nor jinn. - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
55:75
فَبِأَىِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
55:75
So which of your Lord’s bounties will you both deny? - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
55:76
مُتَّكِـِٔينَ عَلَىٰ رَفْرَفٍ خُضْرٍ وَعَبْقَرِىٍّ حِسَانٍ
55:76
Reclining on green cushions and lovely carpets. - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
55:77
فَبِأَىِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
55:77
So which of your Lord’s bounties will you both deny? - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
55:78
تَبَـٰرَكَ ٱسْمُ رَبِّكَ ذِى ٱلْجَلَـٰلِ وَٱلْإِكْرَامِ
55:78
Blessed is the Name of your Lord, the Majestic and the Munificent! - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
