Wahiduddin Khan
بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful.
55:1
ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنُ
55:1
The Beneficent Allah, - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
55:2
عَلَّمَ ٱلْقُرْءَانَ
55:2
Taught the Quran. - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
55:3
خَلَقَ ٱلْإِنسَـٰنَ
55:3
He created man, - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
55:4
عَلَّمَهُ ٱلْبَيَانَ
55:4
Taught him the mode of expression. - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
55:5
ٱلشَّمْسُ وَٱلْقَمَرُ بِحُسْبَانٍ
55:5
The sun and the moon follow a reckoning. - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
55:6
وَٱلنَّجْمُ وَٱلشَّجَرُ يَسْجُدَانِ
55:6
And the herbs and the trees do prostrate (to Him). - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
55:7
وَٱلسَّمَآءَ رَفَعَهَا وَوَضَعَ ٱلْمِيزَانَ
55:7
And the heaven, He raised it high, and He made the balance - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
55:8
أَلَّا تَطْغَوْا۟ فِى ٱلْمِيزَانِ
55:8
That you may not be inordinate in respect of the measure. - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
55:9
وَأَقِيمُوا۟ ٱلْوَزْنَ بِٱلْقِسْطِ وَلَا تُخْسِرُوا۟ ٱلْمِيزَانَ
55:9
And keep up the balance with equity and do not make the measure deficient. - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
55:10
وَٱلْأَرْضَ وَضَعَهَا لِلْأَنَامِ
55:10
And the earth, He has set it for living creatures; - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
55:11
فِيهَا فَـٰكِهَةٌ وَٱلنَّخْلُ ذَاتُ ٱلْأَكْمَامِ
55:11
Therein is fruit and palms having sheathed clusters, - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
55:12
وَٱلْحَبُّ ذُو ٱلْعَصْفِ وَٱلرَّيْحَانُ
55:12
And the grain with (its) husk and fragrance. - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
55:13
فَبِأَىِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
55:13
Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny? - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
55:14
خَلَقَ ٱلْإِنسَـٰنَ مِن صَلْصَـٰلٍ كَٱلْفَخَّارِ
55:14
He created man from dry clay like earthen vessels, - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
55:15
وَخَلَقَ ٱلْجَآنَّ مِن مَّارِجٍ مِّن نَّارٍ
55:15
And He created the jinn of a flame of fire. - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
55:16
فَبِأَىِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
55:16
Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny? - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
55:17
رَبُّ ٱلْمَشْرِقَيْنِ وَرَبُّ ٱلْمَغْرِبَيْنِ
55:17
Lord of the East and Lord of the West. - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
55:18
فَبِأَىِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
55:18
Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny? - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
55:19
مَرَجَ ٱلْبَحْرَيْنِ يَلْتَقِيَانِ
55:19
He has made the two seas to flow freely (so that) they meet together: - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
55:20
بَيْنَهُمَا بَرْزَخٌ لَّا يَبْغِيَانِ
55:20
Between them is a barrier which they cannot pass. - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
55:21
فَبِأَىِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
55:21
Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny? - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
55:22
يَخْرُجُ مِنْهُمَا ٱللُّؤْلُؤُ وَٱلْمَرْجَانُ
55:22
There come forth from them pearls, both large and small. - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
55:23
فَبِأَىِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
55:23
Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny? - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
55:24
وَلَهُ ٱلْجَوَارِ ٱلْمُنشَـَٔاتُ فِى ٱلْبَحْرِ كَٱلْأَعْلَـٰمِ
55:24
And His are the ships reared aloft in the sea like mountains. - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
55:25
فَبِأَىِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
55:25
Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny? - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
55:26
كُلُّ مَنْ عَلَيْهَا فَانٍ
55:26
Everyone on it must pass away. - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
55:27
وَيَبْقَىٰ وَجْهُ رَبِّكَ ذُو ٱلْجَلَـٰلِ وَٱلْإِكْرَامِ
55:27
And there will endure for ever the person of your Lord, the Lord of glory and honor. - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
55:28
فَبِأَىِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
55:28
Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny? - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
55:29
يَسْـَٔلُهُۥ مَن فِى ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ ۚ كُلَّ يَوْمٍ هُوَ فِى شَأْنٍ
55:29
All those who are in the heavens and the earth ask of Him; every moment He is in a state (of glory). - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)

فَبِأَىِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
55:30
Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny? - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
55:31
سَنَفْرُغُ لَكُمْ أَيُّهَ ٱلثَّقَلَانِ
55:31
Soon will We apply Ourselves to you, O you two armies. - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
55:32
فَبِأَىِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
55:32
Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny? - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
55:33
يَـٰمَعْشَرَ ٱلْجِنِّ وَٱلْإِنسِ إِنِ ٱسْتَطَعْتُمْ أَن تَنفُذُوا۟ مِنْ أَقْطَارِ ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ فَٱنفُذُوا۟ ۚ لَا تَنفُذُونَ إِلَّا بِسُلْطَـٰنٍ
55:33
O assembly of the jinn and the men! If you are able to pass through the regions of the heavens and the earth, then pass through; you cannot pass through but with authority. - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)

فَبِأَىِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
55:34
Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny? - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
55:35
يُرْسَلُ عَلَيْكُمَا شُوَاظٌ مِّن نَّارٍ وَنُحَاسٌ فَلَا تَنتَصِرَانِ
55:35
The flames of fire and smoke will be sent on you two, then you will not be able to defend yourselves. - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
55:36
فَبِأَىِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
55:36
Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny? - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
55:37
فَإِذَا ٱنشَقَّتِ ٱلسَّمَآءُ فَكَانَتْ وَرْدَةً كَٱلدِّهَانِ
55:37
And when the heaven is rent asunder, and then becomes red like red hide. - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
55:38
فَبِأَىِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
55:38
Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny? - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
55:39
فَيَوْمَئِذٍ لَّا يُسْـَٔلُ عَن ذَنۢبِهِۦٓ إِنسٌ وَلَا جَآنٌّ
55:39
So on that day neither man nor jinni shall be asked about his sin. - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
55:40
فَبِأَىِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
55:40
Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny? - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
55:41
يُعْرَفُ ٱلْمُجْرِمُونَ بِسِيمَـٰهُمْ فَيُؤْخَذُ بِٱلنَّوَٰصِى وَٱلْأَقْدَامِ
55:41
The guilty shall be recognized by their marks, so they shall be seized by the forelocks and the feet. - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)

فَبِأَىِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
55:42
Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny? - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
55:43
هَـٰذِهِۦ جَهَنَّمُ ٱلَّتِى يُكَذِّبُ بِهَا ٱلْمُجْرِمُونَ
55:43
This is the hell which the guilty called a lie. - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
55:44
يَطُوفُونَ بَيْنَهَا وَبَيْنَ حَمِيمٍ ءَانٍ
55:44
Round about shall they go between it and hot, boiling water. - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
55:45
فَبِأَىِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
55:45
Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny? - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
55:46
وَلِمَنْ خَافَ مَقَامَ رَبِّهِۦ جَنَّتَانِ
55:46
And for him who fears to stand before his Lord are two gardens. - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
55:47
فَبِأَىِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
55:47
Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny? - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
55:48
ذَوَاتَآ أَفْنَانٍ
55:48
Having in them various kinds. - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
55:49
فَبِأَىِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
55:49
Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny? - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
55:50
فِيهِمَا عَيْنَانِ تَجْرِيَانِ
55:50
In both of them are two fountains flowing. - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
55:51
فَبِأَىِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
55:51
Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny? - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
55:52
فِيهِمَا مِن كُلِّ فَـٰكِهَةٍ زَوْجَانِ
55:52
In both of them are two pairs of every fruit. - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
55:53
فَبِأَىِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
55:53
Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny? - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
55:54
مُتَّكِـِٔينَ عَلَىٰ فُرُشٍۭ بَطَآئِنُهَا مِنْ إِسْتَبْرَقٍ ۚ وَجَنَى ٱلْجَنَّتَيْنِ دَانٍ
55:54
Reclining on beds, the inner coverings of which are of silk brocade; and the fruits of the two gardens shall be within reach. - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
55:55
فَبِأَىِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
55:55
Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny? - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
55:56
فِيهِنَّ قَـٰصِرَٰتُ ٱلطَّرْفِ لَمْ يَطْمِثْهُنَّ إِنسٌ قَبْلَهُمْ وَلَا جَآنٌّ
55:56
In them shall be those who restrained their eyes; before them neither man nor jinni shall have touched them. - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)

فَبِأَىِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
55:57
Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny? - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
55:58
كَأَنَّهُنَّ ٱلْيَاقُوتُ وَٱلْمَرْجَانُ
55:58
As though they were rubies and pearls. - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
55:59
فَبِأَىِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
55:59
Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny? - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
55:60
هَلْ جَزَآءُ ٱلْإِحْسَـٰنِ إِلَّا ٱلْإِحْسَـٰنُ
55:60
Is the reward of goodness aught but goodness? - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
55:61
فَبِأَىِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
55:61
Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny? - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
55:62
وَمِن دُونِهِمَا جَنَّتَانِ
55:62
And besides these two are two (other) gardens: - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
55:63
فَبِأَىِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
55:63
Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny? - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
55:64
مُدْهَآمَّتَانِ
55:64
Both inclining to blackness. - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
55:65
فَبِأَىِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
55:65
Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny? - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
55:66
فِيهِمَا عَيْنَانِ نَضَّاخَتَانِ
55:66
In both of them are two springs gushing forth. - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
55:67
فَبِأَىِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
55:67
Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny? - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
55:68
فِيهِمَا فَـٰكِهَةٌ وَنَخْلٌ وَرُمَّانٌ
55:68
In both are fruits and palms and pomegranates. - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
55:69
فَبِأَىِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
55:69
Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny? - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
55:70
فِيهِنَّ خَيْرَٰتٌ حِسَانٌ
55:70
In them are goodly things, beautiful ones. - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
55:71
فَبِأَىِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
55:71
Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny? - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
55:72
حُورٌ مَّقْصُورَٰتٌ فِى ٱلْخِيَامِ
55:72
Pure ones confined to the pavilions. - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
55:73
فَبِأَىِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
55:73
Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny? - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
55:74
لَمْ يَطْمِثْهُنَّ إِنسٌ قَبْلَهُمْ وَلَا جَآنٌّ
55:74
Man has not touched them before them nor jinni. - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
55:75
فَبِأَىِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
55:75
Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny? - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
55:76
مُتَّكِـِٔينَ عَلَىٰ رَفْرَفٍ خُضْرٍ وَعَبْقَرِىٍّ حِسَانٍ
55:76
Reclining on green cushions and beautiful carpets. - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
55:77
فَبِأَىِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
55:77
Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny? - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)

تَبَـٰرَكَ ٱسْمُ رَبِّكَ ذِى ٱلْجَلَـٰلِ وَٱلْإِكْرَامِ
55:78
Blessed be the name of your Lord, the Lord of Glory and Honor! - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
