بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful.
81:1
إِذَا ٱلشَّمْسُ كُوِّرَتْ
81:1
When the sun is wound up, - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
81:2
وَإِذَا ٱلنُّجُومُ ٱنكَدَرَتْ
81:2
when the stars scatter, - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
81:3
وَإِذَا ٱلْجِبَالُ سُيِّرَتْ
81:3
when the mountains are set moving, - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
81:4
وَإِذَا ٱلْعِشَارُ عُطِّلَتْ
81:4
when the pregnant camels are neglected, - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
81:5
وَإِذَا ٱلْوُحُوشُ حُشِرَتْ
81:5
when the wild beasts are mustered, - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
81:6
وَإِذَا ٱلْبِحَارُ سُجِّرَتْ
81:6
when the seas are set afire, - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
81:7
وَإِذَا ٱلنُّفُوسُ زُوِّجَتْ
81:7
when the souls are assorted, - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
81:8
وَإِذَا ٱلْمَوْءُۥدَةُ سُئِلَتْ
81:8
when the girl buried-alive will be asked - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
81:9
بِأَىِّ ذَنۢبٍ قُتِلَتْ
81:9
for what sin she was killed. - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
81:10
وَإِذَا ٱلصُّحُفُ نُشِرَتْ
81:10
When the records [of deeds] are unfolded, - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
81:11
وَإِذَا ٱلسَّمَآءُ كُشِطَتْ
81:11
when the sky is stripped off, - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
81:12
وَإِذَا ٱلْجَحِيمُ سُعِّرَتْ
81:12
when hell is set ablaze, - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
81:13
وَإِذَا ٱلْجَنَّةُ أُزْلِفَتْ
81:13
when paradise is brought near, - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
81:14
عَلِمَتْ نَفْسٌ مَّآ أَحْضَرَتْ
81:14
then a soul shall know what it has readied [for itself]. - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
81:15
فَلَآ أُقْسِمُ بِٱلْخُنَّسِ
81:15
So I swear by the stars that return, - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
81:16
ٱلْجَوَارِ ٱلْكُنَّسِ
81:16
the comets, - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
81:17
وَٱلَّيْلِ إِذَا عَسْعَسَ
81:17
by the night as it approaches, - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
81:18
وَٱلصُّبْحِ إِذَا تَنَفَّسَ
81:18
by the dawn as it breathes: - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
81:19
إِنَّهُۥ لَقَوْلُ رَسُولٍ كَرِيمٍ
81:19
it is indeed the speech of a noble apostle, - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
81:20
ذِى قُوَّةٍ عِندَ ذِى ٱلْعَرْشِ مَكِينٍ
81:20
powerful and eminent with the Lord of the Throne, - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
81:21
مُّطَاعٍ ثَمَّ أَمِينٍ
81:21
one who is obeyed and is trustworthy as well. - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
81:22
وَمَا صَاحِبُكُم بِمَجْنُونٍ
81:22
Your companion is not crazy: - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
81:23
وَلَقَدْ رَءَاهُ بِٱلْأُفُقِ ٱلْمُبِينِ
81:23
certainly he saw him on the manifest horizon, - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
81:24
وَمَا هُوَ عَلَى ٱلْغَيْبِ بِضَنِينٍ
81:24
and he is not miserly concerning the Unseen. - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
81:25
وَمَا هُوَ بِقَوْلِ شَيْطَـٰنٍ رَّجِيمٍ
81:25
And it is not the speech of an outcast Satan. - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
81:26
فَأَيْنَ تَذْهَبُونَ
81:26
So where are you going? - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
81:27
إِنْ هُوَ إِلَّا ذِكْرٌ لِّلْعَـٰلَمِينَ
81:27
It is just a reminder for all the nations, - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
81:28
لِمَن شَآءَ مِنكُمْ أَن يَسْتَقِيمَ
81:28
for those of you who wish to walk straight; - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
81:29
وَمَا تَشَآءُونَ إِلَّآ أَن يَشَآءَ ٱللَّهُ رَبُّ ٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ
81:29
but you will not wish unless it is wished by Allah, the Lord of all the worlds. - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
