بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful.
81:1
إِذَا ٱلشَّمْسُ كُوِّرَتْ
81:1
When the sun is covered, - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
81:2
وَإِذَا ٱلنُّجُومُ ٱنكَدَرَتْ
81:2
And when the stars darken, - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
81:3
وَإِذَا ٱلْجِبَالُ سُيِّرَتْ
81:3
And when the mountains are made to pass away, - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
81:4
وَإِذَا ٱلْعِشَارُ عُطِّلَتْ
81:4
And when the camels are left untended, - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
81:5
وَإِذَا ٱلْوُحُوشُ حُشِرَتْ
81:5
And when the wild animals are made to go forth, - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
81:6
وَإِذَا ٱلْبِحَارُ سُجِّرَتْ
81:6
And when the seas are set on fire, - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
81:7
وَإِذَا ٱلنُّفُوسُ زُوِّجَتْ
81:7
And when souls are united, - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
81:8
وَإِذَا ٱلْمَوْءُۥدَةُ سُئِلَتْ
81:8
And when the female infant buried alive is asked - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
81:9
بِأَىِّ ذَنۢبٍ قُتِلَتْ
81:9
For what sin she was killed, - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
81:10
وَإِذَا ٱلصُّحُفُ نُشِرَتْ
81:10
And when the books are spread, - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
81:11
وَإِذَا ٱلسَّمَآءُ كُشِطَتْ
81:11
And when the heaven has its covering removed, - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
81:12
وَإِذَا ٱلْجَحِيمُ سُعِّرَتْ
81:12
And when the hell is kindled up, - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
81:13
وَإِذَا ٱلْجَنَّةُ أُزْلِفَتْ
81:13
And when the garden is brought nigh, - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
81:14
عَلِمَتْ نَفْسٌ مَّآ أَحْضَرَتْ
81:14
Every soul shall (then) know what it has prepared. - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
81:15
فَلَآ أُقْسِمُ بِٱلْخُنَّسِ
81:15
But nay! I swear by the stars, - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
81:16
ٱلْجَوَارِ ٱلْكُنَّسِ
81:16
That run their course (and) hide themselves, - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
81:17
وَٱلَّيْلِ إِذَا عَسْعَسَ
81:17
And the night when it departs, - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
81:18
وَٱلصُّبْحِ إِذَا تَنَفَّسَ
81:18
And the morning when it brightens, - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
81:19
إِنَّهُۥ لَقَوْلُ رَسُولٍ كَرِيمٍ
81:19
Most surely it is the Word of an honored messenger, - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
81:20
ذِى قُوَّةٍ عِندَ ذِى ٱلْعَرْشِ مَكِينٍ
81:20
The processor of strength, having an honorable place with the Lord of the Dominion, - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
81:21
مُّطَاعٍ ثَمَّ أَمِينٍ
81:21
One (to be) obeyed, and faithful in trust. - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
81:22
وَمَا صَاحِبُكُم بِمَجْنُونٍ
81:22
And your companion is not gone mad. - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
81:23
وَلَقَدْ رَءَاهُ بِٱلْأُفُقِ ٱلْمُبِينِ
81:23
And of a truth he saw himself on the clear horizon. - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
81:24
وَمَا هُوَ عَلَى ٱلْغَيْبِ بِضَنِينٍ
81:24
Nor of the unseen is he a tenacious concealer. - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
81:25
وَمَا هُوَ بِقَوْلِ شَيْطَـٰنٍ رَّجِيمٍ
81:25
Nor is it the word of the cursed Shaitan, - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
81:26
فَأَيْنَ تَذْهَبُونَ
81:26
Whither then will you go? - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
81:27
إِنْ هُوَ إِلَّا ذِكْرٌ لِّلْعَـٰلَمِينَ
81:27
It is naught but a reminder for the nations, - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
81:28
لِمَن شَآءَ مِنكُمْ أَن يَسْتَقِيمَ
81:28
For him among you who pleases to go straight. - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
81:29
وَمَا تَشَآءُونَ إِلَّآ أَن يَشَآءَ ٱللَّهُ رَبُّ ٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ
81:29
And you do not please except that Allah please, the Lord of the worlds. - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
