بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful.
81:1
إِذَا ٱلشَّمْسُ كُوِّرَتْ
81:1

وَإِذَا ٱلنُّجُومُ ٱنكَدَرَتْ
81:2
And when the stars fall down. - Ahmed Raza Khan (English)

وَإِذَا ٱلْجِبَالُ سُيِّرَتْ

And when the mountains are driven. - Ahmed Raza Khan (English)

وَإِذَا ٱلْعِشَارُ عُطِّلَتْ

And when milch camels roam abandoned. - Ahmed Raza Khan (English)

وَإِذَا ٱلْوُحُوشُ حُشِرَتْ

And when wild animals are herded together. - Ahmed Raza Khan (English)

وَإِذَا ٱلْبِحَارُ سُجِّرَتْ
81:6
And when the seas are set afire. - Ahmed Raza Khan (English)

وَإِذَا ٱلنُّفُوسُ زُوِّجَتْ
81:7
And when the souls are paired. - Ahmed Raza Khan (English)

وَإِذَا ٱلْمَوْءُۥدَةُ سُئِلَتْ

And when the girl-child who was buried alive is asked. - Ahmed Raza Khan (English)
81:9
بِأَىِّ ذَنۢبٍ قُتِلَتْ
81:9
Upon what sin was she killed for. - Ahmed Raza Khan (English)
81:10
وَإِذَا ٱلصُّحُفُ نُشِرَتْ
81:10
And when the Records of Account are laid bare. - Ahmed Raza Khan (English)

وَإِذَا ٱلسَّمَآءُ كُشِطَتْ
81:11
And when the heaven is torn away. - Ahmed Raza Khan (English)
81:12
وَإِذَا ٱلْجَحِيمُ سُعِّرَتْ

And when hell is further enflamed. - Ahmed Raza Khan (English)
81:13
وَإِذَا ٱلْجَنَّةُ أُزْلِفَتْ
81:13
And when Paradise is brought near. - Ahmed Raza Khan (English)
81:14
عَلِمَتْ نَفْسٌ مَّآ أَحْضَرَتْ
81:14
Every soul will then come know what it has brought. - Ahmed Raza Khan (English)

فَلَآ أُقْسِمُ بِٱلْخُنَّسِ
81:15
So by oath of those that revolve. (The planets.) - Ahmed Raza Khan (English)
81:16
ٱلْجَوَارِ ٱلْكُنَّسِ
81:16
Who move straight and stop. - Ahmed Raza Khan (English)
81:17
وَٱلَّيْلِ إِذَا عَسْعَسَ
81:17
And by oath of the night when it turns back. - Ahmed Raza Khan (English)
81:18
وَٱلصُّبْحِ إِذَا تَنَفَّسَ
81:18
And by oath of the morning when it takes birth. - Ahmed Raza Khan (English)
81:19
إِنَّهُۥ لَقَوْلُ رَسُولٍ كَرِيمٍ
81:19
This is indeed the recitation of an honoured Noble Messenger. (Angel Jibreel – peace and blessings be upon him.) - Ahmed Raza Khan (English)

ذِى قُوَّةٍ عِندَ ذِى ٱلْعَرْشِ مَكِينٍ
81:20
The mighty, the honoured in the presence of the Lord of the Throne. - Ahmed Raza Khan (English)

مُّطَاعٍ ثَمَّ أَمِينٍ
81:21
The one who is obeyed, and trustworthy. (Other angels obey angel Jibreel). - Ahmed Raza Khan (English)
81:22
وَمَا صَاحِبُكُم بِمَجْنُونٍ
81:22
And your companion is not insane. - Ahmed Raza Khan (English)
81:23
وَلَقَدْ رَءَاهُ بِٱلْأُفُقِ ٱلْمُبِينِ
81:23
And indeed he saw him on the clear horizon. (Prophet Mohammed saw Angel Jibreel in his true shape – peace and blessings be upon them). - Ahmed Raza Khan (English)

وَمَا هُوَ عَلَى ٱلْغَيْبِ بِضَنِينٍ
81:24
And this Prophet is not miserly upon the hidden. (Allah gave the knowledge of the hidden to the Holy Prophet – peace and blessings be upon him.) - Ahmed Raza Khan (English)
81:25
وَمَا هُوَ بِقَوْلِ شَيْطَـٰنٍ رَّجِيمٍ
81:25
And the Qur’an is not the recitation of Satan the outcast. - Ahmed Raza Khan (English)

فَأَيْنَ تَذْهَبُونَ
81:26
So where are you going? - Ahmed Raza Khan (English)
81:27
إِنْ هُوَ إِلَّا ذِكْرٌ لِّلْعَـٰلَمِينَ
81:27
That is but an advice to the entire creation! - Ahmed Raza Khan (English)

لِمَن شَآءَ مِنكُمْ أَن يَسْتَقِيمَ
81:28
For the one among you who wishes to become upright. - Ahmed Raza Khan (English)
81:29
وَمَا تَشَآءُونَ إِلَّآ أَن يَشَآءَ ٱللَّهُ رَبُّ ٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ
81:29
And what will you wish, except if Allah wills – the Lord of the Creation. - Ahmed Raza Khan (English)
