81:1
إِذَا ٱلشَّمْسُ كُوِّرَتْ

وَإِذَا ٱلنُّجُومُ ٱنكَدَرَتْ

When the stars are dimmed. - Talal Itani (English)

وَإِذَا ٱلْجِبَالُ سُيِّرَتْ

When the mountains are set in motion. - Talal Itani (English)
81:4
وَإِذَا ٱلْعِشَارُ عُطِّلَتْ
81:4
When the relationships are suspended. - Talal Itani (English)
81:5
وَإِذَا ٱلْوُحُوشُ حُشِرَتْ
81:5
When the beasts are gathered. - Talal Itani (English)
81:6
وَإِذَا ٱلْبِحَارُ سُجِّرَتْ
81:6
When the oceans are set aflame. - Talal Itani (English)
81:7
وَإِذَا ٱلنُّفُوسُ زُوِّجَتْ
81:7
When the souls are paired. - Talal Itani (English)
81:8
وَإِذَا ٱلْمَوْءُۥدَةُ سُئِلَتْ
81:8
When the girl, buried alive, is asked: - Talal Itani (English)

بِأَىِّ ذَنۢبٍ قُتِلَتْ
81:9
For what crime was she killed? - Talal Itani (English)

وَإِذَا ٱلصُّحُفُ نُشِرَتْ
81:10
When the records are made public. - Talal Itani (English)
81:11
وَإِذَا ٱلسَّمَآءُ كُشِطَتْ
81:11
When the sky is peeled away. - Talal Itani (English)
81:12
وَإِذَا ٱلْجَحِيمُ سُعِّرَتْ
81:12
When the Fire is set ablaze. - Talal Itani (English)

وَإِذَا ٱلْجَنَّةُ أُزْلِفَتْ
81:13
When Paradise is brought near. - Talal Itani (English)
81:14
عَلِمَتْ نَفْسٌ مَّآ أَحْضَرَتْ
81:14
Each soul will know what it has readied. - Talal Itani (English)
81:15
فَلَآ أُقْسِمُ بِٱلْخُنَّسِ
81:15
I swear by the galaxies. - Talal Itani (English)
81:16
ٱلْجَوَارِ ٱلْكُنَّسِ
81:16
Precisely running their courses. - Talal Itani (English)
81:17
وَٱلَّيْلِ إِذَا عَسْعَسَ
81:17
And by the night as it recedes. - Talal Itani (English)
81:18
وَٱلصُّبْحِ إِذَا تَنَفَّسَ
81:18
And by the morn as it breathes. - Talal Itani (English)
81:19
إِنَّهُۥ لَقَوْلُ رَسُولٍ كَرِيمٍ
81:19
This is the speech of a noble messenger. - Talal Itani (English)

ذِى قُوَّةٍ عِندَ ذِى ٱلْعَرْشِ مَكِينٍ
81:20
Endowed with power, eminent with the Lord of the Throne. - Talal Itani (English)
81:21
مُّطَاعٍ ثَمَّ أَمِينٍ
81:21
Obeyed and honest. - Talal Itani (English)
81:22
وَمَا صَاحِبُكُم بِمَجْنُونٍ
81:22
Your friend is not possessed. - Talal Itani (English)
81:23
وَلَقَدْ رَءَاهُ بِٱلْأُفُقِ ٱلْمُبِينِ
81:23
He saw him on the luminous horizon. - Talal Itani (English)
81:24
وَمَا هُوَ عَلَى ٱلْغَيْبِ بِضَنِينٍ
81:24
And He does not withhold knowledge of the Unseen. - Talal Itani (English)
81:25
وَمَا هُوَ بِقَوْلِ شَيْطَـٰنٍ رَّجِيمٍ
81:25
And it is not the word of an accursed devil. - Talal Itani (English)
81:26
فَأَيْنَ تَذْهَبُونَ
81:26
So where are you heading? - Talal Itani (English)
81:27
إِنْ هُوَ إِلَّا ذِكْرٌ لِّلْعَـٰلَمِينَ
81:27
It is only a Reminder to all mankind. - Talal Itani (English)
81:28
لِمَن شَآءَ مِنكُمْ أَن يَسْتَقِيمَ
81:28
To whoever of you wills to go straight. - Talal Itani (English)
81:29
وَمَا تَشَآءُونَ إِلَّآ أَن يَشَآءَ ٱللَّهُ رَبُّ ٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ
81:29
But you cannot will, unless God wills—The Lord of the Worlds. - Talal Itani (English)
