بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful.

81:1 إِذَا ٱلشَّمْسُ كُوِّرَتْ

81:2 وَإِذَا ٱلنُّجُومُ ٱنكَدَرَتْ
81:2 And when the stars fall, - Mohammed Marmaduke William Pickthall (English)

81:3 وَإِذَا ٱلْجِبَالُ سُيِّرَتْ
81:3 And when the hills are moved, - Mohammed Marmaduke William Pickthall (English)

81:4 وَإِذَا ٱلْعِشَارُ عُطِّلَتْ
81:4 And when the camels big with young are abandoned, - Mohammed Marmaduke William Pickthall (English)

81:5 وَإِذَا ٱلْوُحُوشُ حُشِرَتْ
81:5 And when the wild beasts are herded together, - Mohammed Marmaduke William Pickthall (English)

81:6 وَإِذَا ٱلْبِحَارُ سُجِّرَتْ

81:7 وَإِذَا ٱلنُّفُوسُ زُوِّجَتْ

81:8 وَإِذَا ٱلْمَوْءُۥدَةُ سُئِلَتْ

81:9 بِأَىِّ ذَنۢبٍ قُتِلَتْ
81:9 For what sin she was slain, - Mohammed Marmaduke William Pickthall (English)

81:10 وَإِذَا ٱلصُّحُفُ نُشِرَتْ
81:10 And when the pages are laid open, - Mohammed Marmaduke William Pickthall (English)

81:11 وَإِذَا ٱلسَّمَآءُ كُشِطَتْ
81:11 And when the sky is torn away, - Mohammed Marmaduke William Pickthall (English)

81:12 وَإِذَا ٱلْجَحِيمُ سُعِّرَتْ
81:12 And when hell is lighted, - Mohammed Marmaduke William Pickthall (English)

81:13 وَإِذَا ٱلْجَنَّةُ أُزْلِفَتْ
81:13 And when the Garden is brought nigh, - Mohammed Marmaduke William Pickthall (English)

81:14 عَلِمَتْ نَفْسٌ مَّآ أَحْضَرَتْ

81:15 فَلَآ أُقْسِمُ بِٱلْخُنَّسِ
81:15 Oh, but I call to witness the planets, - Mohammed Marmaduke William Pickthall (English)

81:16 ٱلْجَوَارِ ٱلْكُنَّسِ
81:16 The stars which rise and set, - Mohammed Marmaduke William Pickthall (English)

81:17 وَٱلَّيْلِ إِذَا عَسْعَسَ
81:17 And the close of night, - Mohammed Marmaduke William Pickthall (English)

81:18 وَٱلصُّبْحِ إِذَا تَنَفَّسَ
81:18 And the breath of morning - Mohammed Marmaduke William Pickthall (English)

81:19 إِنَّهُۥ لَقَوْلُ رَسُولٍ كَرِيمٍ
81:19 That this is in truth the word of an honoured messenger, - Mohammed Marmaduke William Pickthall (English)

81:20 ذِى قُوَّةٍ عِندَ ذِى ٱلْعَرْشِ مَكِينٍ
81:20 Mighty, established in the presence of the Lord of the Throne, - Mohammed Marmaduke William Pickthall (English)

81:21 مُّطَاعٍ ثَمَّ أَمِينٍ
81:21 (One) to be obeyed, and trustworthy; - Mohammed Marmaduke William Pickthall (English)

81:22 وَمَا صَاحِبُكُم بِمَجْنُونٍ
81:22 And your comrade is not mad. - Mohammed Marmaduke William Pickthall (English)

81:23 وَلَقَدْ رَءَاهُ بِٱلْأُفُقِ ٱلْمُبِينِ
81:23 Surely he beheld Him on the clear horizon. - Mohammed Marmaduke William Pickthall (English)

81:24 وَمَا هُوَ عَلَى ٱلْغَيْبِ بِضَنِينٍ
81:24 And he is not avid of the Unseen. - Mohammed Marmaduke William Pickthall (English)

81:25 وَمَا هُوَ بِقَوْلِ شَيْطَـٰنٍ رَّجِيمٍ
81:25 Nor is this the utterance of a devil worthy to be stoned. - Mohammed Marmaduke William Pickthall (English)

81:26 فَأَيْنَ تَذْهَبُونَ
81:26 Whither then go ye? - Mohammed Marmaduke William Pickthall (English)

81:27 إِنْ هُوَ إِلَّا ذِكْرٌ لِّلْعَـٰلَمِينَ
81:27 This is naught else than a reminder unto creation, - Mohammed Marmaduke William Pickthall (English)

81:28 لِمَن شَآءَ مِنكُمْ أَن يَسْتَقِيمَ
81:28 Unto whomsoever of you willeth to walk straight. - Mohammed Marmaduke William Pickthall (English)

81:29 وَمَا تَشَآءُونَ إِلَّآ أَن يَشَآءَ ٱللَّهُ رَبُّ ٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ
