بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful.
86:1
وَٱلسَّمَآءِ وَٱلطَّارِقِ
86:1
By the Sky and the Night-Visitant (therein);- - Abdullah Yusuf Ali (English)
86:2
وَمَآ أَدْرَىٰكَ مَا ٱلطَّارِقُ
86:2
And what will explain to thee what the Night-Visitant is?- - Abdullah Yusuf Ali (English)
86:3
ٱلنَّجْمُ ٱلثَّاقِبُ
86:3
(It is) the Star of piercing brightness;- - Abdullah Yusuf Ali (English)
86:4
إِن كُلُّ نَفْسٍ لَّمَّا عَلَيْهَا حَافِظٌ
86:4
There is no soul but has a protector over it. - Abdullah Yusuf Ali (English)
86:5
فَلْيَنظُرِ ٱلْإِنسَـٰنُ مِمَّ خُلِقَ
86:5
Now let man but think from what he is created! - Abdullah Yusuf Ali (English)
86:6
خُلِقَ مِن مَّآءٍ دَافِقٍ
86:6
He is created from a drop emitted- - Abdullah Yusuf Ali (English)
86:7
يَخْرُجُ مِنۢ بَيْنِ ٱلصُّلْبِ وَٱلتَّرَآئِبِ
86:7
Proceeding from between the backbone and the ribs: - Abdullah Yusuf Ali (English)
86:8
إِنَّهُۥ عَلَىٰ رَجْعِهِۦ لَقَادِرٌ
86:8
Surely (Allah) is able to bring him back (to life)! - Abdullah Yusuf Ali (English)
86:9
يَوْمَ تُبْلَى ٱلسَّرَآئِرُ
86:9
The Day that (all) things secret will be tested, - Abdullah Yusuf Ali (English)
86:10
فَمَا لَهُۥ مِن قُوَّةٍ وَلَا نَاصِرٍ
86:10
(Man) will have no power, and no helper. - Abdullah Yusuf Ali (English)
86:11
وَٱلسَّمَآءِ ذَاتِ ٱلرَّجْعِ
86:11
By the Firmament which returns (in its round), - Abdullah Yusuf Ali (English)
86:12
وَٱلْأَرْضِ ذَاتِ ٱلصَّدْعِ
86:12
And by the Earth which opens out (for the gushing of springs or the sprouting of vegetation),- - Abdullah Yusuf Ali (English)
86:13
إِنَّهُۥ لَقَوْلٌ فَصْلٌ
86:13
Behold this is the Word that distinguishes (Good from Evil): - Abdullah Yusuf Ali (English)
86:14
وَمَا هُوَ بِٱلْهَزْلِ
86:14
It is not a thing for amusement. - Abdullah Yusuf Ali (English)
86:15
إِنَّهُمْ يَكِيدُونَ كَيْدًا
86:15
As for them, they are but plotting a scheme, - Abdullah Yusuf Ali (English)
86:16
وَأَكِيدُ كَيْدًا
86:16
And I am planning a scheme. - Abdullah Yusuf Ali (English)
86:17
فَمَهِّلِ ٱلْكَـٰفِرِينَ أَمْهِلْهُمْ رُوَيْدًۢا
86:17
Therefore grant a delay to the Unbelievers: Give respite to them gently (for awhile). - Abdullah Yusuf Ali (English)
