بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful.
86:1
وَٱلسَّمَآءِ وَٱلطَّارِقِ
86:1
I swear by the heaven and the comer by night; - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
86:2
وَمَآ أَدْرَىٰكَ مَا ٱلطَّارِقُ
86:2
And what will make you know what the comer by night is? - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
86:3
ٱلنَّجْمُ ٱلثَّاقِبُ
86:3
The star of piercing brightness; - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
86:4
إِن كُلُّ نَفْسٍ لَّمَّا عَلَيْهَا حَافِظٌ
86:4
There is not a soul but over it is a keeper. - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
86:5
فَلْيَنظُرِ ٱلْإِنسَـٰنُ مِمَّ خُلِقَ
86:5
So let man consider of what he is created: - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
86:6
خُلِقَ مِن مَّآءٍ دَافِقٍ
86:6
He is created of water pouring forth, - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
86:7
يَخْرُجُ مِنۢ بَيْنِ ٱلصُّلْبِ وَٱلتَّرَآئِبِ
86:7
Coming from between the back and the ribs. - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
86:8
إِنَّهُۥ عَلَىٰ رَجْعِهِۦ لَقَادِرٌ
86:8
Most surely He is able to return him (to life). - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
86:9
يَوْمَ تُبْلَى ٱلسَّرَآئِرُ
86:9
On the day when hidden things shall be made manifest, - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
86:10
فَمَا لَهُۥ مِن قُوَّةٍ وَلَا نَاصِرٍ
86:10
He shall have neither strength nor helper. - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
86:11
وَٱلسَّمَآءِ ذَاتِ ٱلرَّجْعِ
86:11
I swear by the raingiving heavens, - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
86:12
وَٱلْأَرْضِ ذَاتِ ٱلصَّدْعِ
86:12
And the earth splitting (with plants); - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
86:13
إِنَّهُۥ لَقَوْلٌ فَصْلٌ
86:13
Most surely it is a decisive word, - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
86:14
وَمَا هُوَ بِٱلْهَزْلِ
86:14
And it is no joke. - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
86:15
إِنَّهُمْ يَكِيدُونَ كَيْدًا
86:15
Surely they will make a scheme, - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
86:16
وَأَكِيدُ كَيْدًا
86:16
And I (too) will make a scheme. - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
86:17
فَمَهِّلِ ٱلْكَـٰفِرِينَ أَمْهِلْهُمْ رُوَيْدًۢا
86:17
So grant the unbelievers a respite: let them alone for a while. - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
