بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful.
85:1
وَٱلسَّمَآءِ ذَاتِ ٱلْبُرُوجِ
85:1
By the heaven with its Houses, - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
85:2
وَٱلْيَوْمِ ٱلْمَوْعُودِ
85:2
by the Promised Day, - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
85:3
وَشَاهِدٍ وَمَشْهُودٍ
85:3
by the Witness and the Witnessed: - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
85:4
قُتِلَ أَصْحَـٰبُ ٱلْأُخْدُودِ
85:4
perish the People of the Ditch! - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
85:5
ٱلنَّارِ ذَاتِ ٱلْوَقُودِ
85:5
The fire abounding in fuel, - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
85:6
إِذْ هُمْ عَلَيْهَا قُعُودٌ
85:6
above which they sat - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
85:7
وَهُمْ عَلَىٰ مَا يَفْعَلُونَ بِٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ شُهُودٌ
85:7
as they were themselves witnesses to what they did to the faithful. - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
85:8
وَمَا نَقَمُوا۟ مِنْهُمْ إِلَّآ أَن يُؤْمِنُوا۟ بِٱللَّهِ ٱلْعَزِيزِ ٱلْحَمِيدِ
85:8
They were vindictive towards them only because they had faith in Allah, the All-mighty and the All-laudable, - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
85:9
ٱلَّذِى لَهُۥ مُلْكُ ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ ۚ وَٱللَّهُ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَىْءٍ شَهِيدٌ
85:9
to whom belongs the kingdom of the heavens and the earth, and Allah is witness to all things. - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
85:10
إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ فَتَنُوا۟ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ وَٱلْمُؤْمِنَـٰتِ ثُمَّ لَمْ يَتُوبُوا۟ فَلَهُمْ عَذَابُ جَهَنَّمَ وَلَهُمْ عَذَابُ ٱلْحَرِيقِ
85:10
Indeed those who persecute the faithful, men and women, and do not repent thereafter, there is the punishment of hell for them and the punishment of burning. - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
85:11
إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ وَعَمِلُوا۟ ٱلصَّـٰلِحَـٰتِ لَهُمْ جَنَّـٰتٌ تَجْرِى مِن تَحْتِهَا ٱلْأَنْهَـٰرُ ۚ ذَٰلِكَ ٱلْفَوْزُ ٱلْكَبِيرُ
85:11
Indeed those who have faith and do righteous deeds—for them will be gardens with streams running in them. That is the supreme success. - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
85:12
إِنَّ بَطْشَ رَبِّكَ لَشَدِيدٌ
85:12
Indeed your Lord’s striking is severe. - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
85:13
إِنَّهُۥ هُوَ يُبْدِئُ وَيُعِيدُ
85:13
It is indeed He who originates and brings back, - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
85:14
وَهُوَ ٱلْغَفُورُ ٱلْوَدُودُ
85:14
and He is the All-forgiving, the All-affectionate, - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
85:15
ذُو ٱلْعَرْشِ ٱلْمَجِيدُ
85:15
Lord of the Throne, the All-glorious, - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
85:16
فَعَّالٌ لِّمَا يُرِيدُ
85:16
doer of what He desires. - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
85:17
هَلْ أَتَىٰكَ حَدِيثُ ٱلْجُنُودِ
85:17
Did you receive the story of the hosts - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
85:18
فِرْعَوْنَ وَثَمُودَ
85:18
of Pharaoh and Thamud? - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
85:19
بَلِ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ فِى تَكْذِيبٍ
85:19
Indeed the faithless dwell in denial, - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
85:20
وَٱللَّهُ مِن وَرَآئِهِم مُّحِيطٌۢ
85:20
and Allah besieges them from all around. - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
85:21
بَلْ هُوَ قُرْءَانٌ مَّجِيدٌ
85:21
Indeed it is a glorious Quran, - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
85:22
فِى لَوْحٍ مَّحْفُوظٍۭ
85:22
in a preserved tablet. - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
