بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful.
85:1
وَٱلسَّمَآءِ ذَاتِ ٱلْبُرُوجِ
85:1
By the heaven of the constellations! - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
85:2
وَٱلْيَوْمِ ٱلْمَوْعُودِ
85:2
By the Promised Day! - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
85:3
وَشَاهِدٍ وَمَشْهُودٍ
85:3
By the witness and the witnessed! - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
85:4
قُتِلَ أَصْحَـٰبُ ٱلْأُخْدُودِ
85:4
The companions of the pit were killed - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
85:5
ٱلنَّارِ ذَاتِ ٱلْوَقُودِ
85:5
the fire with its fuel, - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
85:6
إِذْ هُمْ عَلَيْهَا قُعُودٌ
85:6
when they were seated around it - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
85:7
وَهُمْ عَلَىٰ مَا يَفْعَلُونَ بِٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ شُهُودٌ
85:7
and they were witnesses of what they did to the believers - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
85:8
وَمَا نَقَمُوا۟ مِنْهُمْ إِلَّآ أَن يُؤْمِنُوا۟ بِٱللَّهِ ٱلْعَزِيزِ ٱلْحَمِيدِ
85:8
and their revenge on them was only because they believed in Allah, the Almighty, the Praised, - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
85:9
ٱلَّذِى لَهُۥ مُلْكُ ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ ۚ وَٱللَّهُ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَىْءٍ شَهِيدٌ
85:9
to whom belongs the Kingdom of the heavens and earth. And Allah is the Witness of all things. - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
85:10
إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ فَتَنُوا۟ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ وَٱلْمُؤْمِنَـٰتِ ثُمَّ لَمْ يَتُوبُوا۟ فَلَهُمْ عَذَابُ جَهَنَّمَ وَلَهُمْ عَذَابُ ٱلْحَرِيقِ
85:10
Those who persecuted the believing men and women and never repented, there is for them the punishment of Gehenna (Hell), and for them the punishment of the burning. - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
85:11
إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ وَعَمِلُوا۟ ٱلصَّـٰلِحَـٰتِ لَهُمْ جَنَّـٰتٌ تَجْرِى مِن تَحْتِهَا ٱلْأَنْهَـٰرُ ۚ ذَٰلِكَ ٱلْفَوْزُ ٱلْكَبِيرُ
85:11
(But) for those who believe and do good works, for them there are Gardens underneath which rivers flow that is the Great Victory! - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
85:12
إِنَّ بَطْشَ رَبِّكَ لَشَدِيدٌ
85:12
Indeed, the seizing of your Lord is severe. - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
85:13
إِنَّهُۥ هُوَ يُبْدِئُ وَيُعِيدُ
85:13
It is He who originates and repeats. - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
85:14
وَهُوَ ٱلْغَفُورُ ٱلْوَدُودُ
85:14
And He is the Forgiving, and the Loving. - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
85:15
ذُو ٱلْعَرْشِ ٱلْمَجِيدُ
85:15
Owner of the Throne, the Exalted. - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
85:16
فَعَّالٌ لِّمَا يُرِيدُ
85:16
The Doer of whatever He wants. - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
85:17
هَلْ أَتَىٰكَ حَدِيثُ ٱلْجُنُودِ
85:17
Has it come to you the story of the hosts - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
85:18
فِرْعَوْنَ وَثَمُودَ
85:18
of Pharaoh and of Thamood? - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
85:19
بَلِ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ فِى تَكْذِيبٍ
85:19
Yet the unbelievers still belie, - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
85:20
وَٱللَّهُ مِن وَرَآئِهِم مُّحِيطٌۢ
85:20
Allah encompasses them all from behind. - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
85:21
بَلْ هُوَ قُرْءَانٌ مَّجِيدٌ
85:21
Indeed, this is a Glorious Koran, - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
85:22
فِى لَوْحٍ مَّحْفُوظٍۭ
85:22
in a Guarded Tablet. - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
