بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful.
85:1
وَٱلسَّمَآءِ ذَاتِ ٱلْبُرُوجِ
85:1
By the heaven adorned with big stars. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
85:2
وَٱلْيَوْمِ ٱلْمَوْعُودِ
85:2
And by the Day promised, - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
85:3
وَشَاهِدٍ وَمَشْهُودٍ
85:3
And by the Day witnessing and the Day witnessed, - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
85:4
قُتِلَ أَصْحَـٰبُ ٱلْأُخْدُودِ
85:4
Perish the fellows of the ditch, - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
85:5
ٱلنَّارِ ذَاتِ ٱلْوَقُودِ
85:5
Of fire fuel-fed, - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
85:6
إِذْ هُمْ عَلَيْهَا قُعُودٌ
85:6
When they sat by it - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
85:7
وَهُمْ عَلَىٰ مَا يَفْعَلُونَ بِٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ شُهُودٌ
85:7
And to that which they did to the believers were witnesses. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
85:8
وَمَا نَقَمُوا۟ مِنْهُمْ إِلَّآ أَن يُؤْمِنُوا۟ بِٱللَّهِ ٱلْعَزِيزِ ٱلْحَمِيدِ
85:8
And they persecuted them for naught save that they believed in Allah, the Mighty, the Praiseworthy - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
85:9
ٱلَّذِى لَهُۥ مُلْكُ ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ ۚ وَٱللَّهُ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَىْءٍ شَهِيدٌ
85:9
Him, Whose is the dominion of heavens and the earth. And Allah is over everything a Witness. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
85:10
إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ فَتَنُوا۟ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ وَٱلْمُؤْمِنَـٰتِ ثُمَّ لَمْ يَتُوبُوا۟ فَلَهُمْ عَذَابُ جَهَنَّمَ وَلَهُمْ عَذَابُ ٱلْحَرِيقِ
85:10
Verily those who affected the believing men and the believing women, and then repented not, theirs shall be the torment of Hell, and theirs shall be the torment of burning. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
85:11
إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ وَعَمِلُوا۟ ٱلصَّـٰلِحَـٰتِ لَهُمْ جَنَّـٰتٌ تَجْرِى مِن تَحْتِهَا ٱلْأَنْهَـٰرُ ۚ ذَٰلِكَ ٱلْفَوْزُ ٱلْكَبِيرُ
85:11
Verily those who believed and worked righteons works, theirs shall be Gardens whereunder the rivers flow; that is the supreme achievement. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
85:12
إِنَّ بَطْشَ رَبِّكَ لَشَدِيدٌ
85:12
Verily the grip of thine Lord is severe. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
85:13
إِنَّهُۥ هُوَ يُبْدِئُ وَيُعِيدُ
85:13
Verily He! He it is who beginneth and repeateth it. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
85:14
وَهُوَ ٱلْغَفُورُ ٱلْوَدُودُ
85:14
And He is the Fogiving, the Loving, - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
85:15
ذُو ٱلْعَرْشِ ٱلْمَجِيدُ
85:15
Lord of the Throne, the Glorious, - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
85:16
فَعَّالٌ لِّمَا يُرِيدُ
85:16
Doer of whatsoever He intendeth. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
85:17
هَلْ أَتَىٰكَ حَدِيثُ ٱلْجُنُودِ
85:17
Hath there come Unto thee the story of the hosts- - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
85:18
فِرْعَوْنَ وَثَمُودَ
85:18
Of the Fir'awn and the Thamud? - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
85:19
بَلِ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ فِى تَكْذِيبٍ
85:19
But those who disbelieve are engaged in denial. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
85:20
وَٱللَّهُ مِن وَرَآئِهِم مُّحِيطٌۢ
85:20
Whereas Allah is, from behind them, Encompassing. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
85:21
بَلْ هُوَ قُرْءَانٌ مَّجِيدٌ
85:21
Aye! it is a Recitation glorious, - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
85:22
فِى لَوْحٍ مَّحْفُوظٍۭ
85:22
Inscribed in a tablet preserved. - Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English)
