بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful.
51:1
وَٱلذَّٰرِيَـٰتِ ذَرْوًا
51:1
By the scattering [winds] that scatter [the clouds]; - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
51:2
فَٱلْحَـٰمِلَـٰتِ وِقْرًا
51:2
by the [rain] bearing [clouds] laden [with water]; - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
51:3
فَٱلْجَـٰرِيَـٰتِ يُسْرًا
51:3
by [the ships] which move gently [on the sea]; - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
51:4
فَٱلْمُقَسِّمَـٰتِ أَمْرًا
51:4
by [the angels] who dispense [livelihood] by [His] command: - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
51:5
إِنَّمَا تُوعَدُونَ لَصَادِقٌ
51:5
indeed what you are promised is true, - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
51:6
وَإِنَّ ٱلدِّينَ لَوَٰقِعٌ
51:6
and indeed the retribution will surely come to pass! - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
51:7
وَٱلسَّمَآءِ ذَاتِ ٱلْحُبُكِ
51:7
By the sky full of adornment [with stars], - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
51:8
إِنَّكُمْ لَفِى قَوْلٍ مُّخْتَلِفٍ
51:8
indeed you are of different opinions! - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
51:9
يُؤْفَكُ عَنْهُ مَنْ أُفِكَ
51:9
He who has been turned away [from the truth] is turned away from it. - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
51:10
قُتِلَ ٱلْخَرَّٰصُونَ
51:10
Perish the liars, - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
51:11
ٱلَّذِينَ هُمْ فِى غَمْرَةٍ سَاهُونَ
51:11
who are heedless in a stupor! - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
51:12
يَسْـَٔلُونَ أَيَّانَ يَوْمُ ٱلدِّينِ
51:12
They ask, ‘When will be the Day of Retribution?’ - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
51:13
يَوْمَ هُمْ عَلَى ٱلنَّارِ يُفْتَنُونَ
51:13
It is the day when they will be tormented in the Fire, - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
51:14
ذُوقُوا۟ فِتْنَتَكُمْ هَـٰذَا ٱلَّذِى كُنتُم بِهِۦ تَسْتَعْجِلُونَ
51:14
[and will be told]: ‘Taste your torment. This is what you used to hasten.’ - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
51:15
إِنَّ ٱلْمُتَّقِينَ فِى جَنَّـٰتٍ وَعُيُونٍ
51:15
Indeed the Godwary will be amid gardens and springs, - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
51:16
ءَاخِذِينَ مَآ ءَاتَىٰهُمْ رَبُّهُمْ ۚ إِنَّهُمْ كَانُوا۟ قَبْلَ ذَٰلِكَ مُحْسِنِينَ
51:16
receiving what their Lord has given them, for they had been virtuous aforetime. - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
51:17
كَانُوا۟ قَلِيلًا مِّنَ ٱلَّيْلِ مَا يَهْجَعُونَ
51:17
They used to sleep a little during the night, - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
51:18
وَبِٱلْأَسْحَارِ هُمْ يَسْتَغْفِرُونَ
51:18
and at dawns they would plead for forgiveness, - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
51:19
وَفِىٓ أَمْوَٰلِهِمْ حَقٌّ لِّلسَّآئِلِ وَٱلْمَحْرُومِ
51:19
and there was a share in their wealth for the beggar and the deprived. - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
51:20
وَفِى ٱلْأَرْضِ ءَايَـٰتٌ لِّلْمُوقِنِينَ
51:20
In the earth are signs for those who have conviction, - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
51:21
وَفِىٓ أَنفُسِكُمْ ۚ أَفَلَا تُبْصِرُونَ
51:21
and in your souls [as well]. Will you not then perceive? - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
51:22
وَفِى ٱلسَّمَآءِ رِزْقُكُمْ وَمَا تُوعَدُونَ
51:22
And in the sky is your provision and what you are promised. - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
51:23
فَوَرَبِّ ٱلسَّمَآءِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ إِنَّهُۥ لَحَقٌّ مِّثْلَ مَآ أَنَّكُمْ تَنطِقُونَ
51:23
By the Lord of the sky and the earth, it is indeed the truth, just as [it is a fact that] you speak. - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
51:24
هَلْ أَتَىٰكَ حَدِيثُ ضَيْفِ إِبْرَٰهِيمَ ٱلْمُكْرَمِينَ
51:24
Did you receive the story of Abraham’s honoured guests? - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
51:25
إِذْ دَخَلُوا۟ عَلَيْهِ فَقَالُوا۟ سَلَـٰمًا ۖ قَالَ سَلَـٰمٌ قَوْمٌ مُّنكَرُونَ
51:25
When they entered into his presence, they said, ‘Peace!’ ‘Peace!’ He answered, ‘[You are] an unfamiliar folk.’ - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
51:26
فَرَاغَ إِلَىٰٓ أَهْلِهِۦ فَجَآءَ بِعِجْلٍ سَمِينٍ
51:26
Then he retired to his family and brought a fat [roasted] calf, - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
51:27
فَقَرَّبَهُۥٓ إِلَيْهِمْ قَالَ أَلَا تَأْكُلُونَ
51:27
and put it near them. He said, ‘Will you not eat?’ - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
51:28
فَأَوْجَسَ مِنْهُمْ خِيفَةً ۖ قَالُوا۟ لَا تَخَفْ ۖ وَبَشَّرُوهُ بِغُلَـٰمٍ عَلِيمٍ
51:28
Then he felt a fear of them. They said, ‘Do not be afraid!’ and they gave him the good news of a wise son. - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
51:29
فَأَقْبَلَتِ ٱمْرَأَتُهُۥ فِى صَرَّةٍ فَصَكَّتْ وَجْهَهَا وَقَالَتْ عَجُوزٌ عَقِيمٌ
51:29
Then his wife came forward crying [with joy]. She beat her face, and said, ‘A barren old woman!’ - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
51:30
قَالُوا۟ كَذَٰلِكِ قَالَ رَبُّكِ ۖ إِنَّهُۥ هُوَ ٱلْحَكِيمُ ٱلْعَلِيمُ
51:30
They said, ‘So has your Lord said. Indeed He is the All-wise, the All-knowing.’ - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
51:31
۞ قَالَ فَمَا خَطْبُكُمْ أَيُّهَا ٱلْمُرْسَلُونَ
51:31
He said, ‘O messengers, what is now your errand?’ - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
51:32
قَالُوٓا۟ إِنَّآ أُرْسِلْنَآ إِلَىٰ قَوْمٍ مُّجْرِمِينَ
51:32
They said, ‘We have been sent toward a guilty people, - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
51:33
لِنُرْسِلَ عَلَيْهِمْ حِجَارَةً مِّن طِينٍ
51:33
that We may rain upon them stones of clay, - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
51:34
مُّسَوَّمَةً عِندَ رَبِّكَ لِلْمُسْرِفِينَ
51:34
sent for the transgressors from your Lord. - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
51:35
فَأَخْرَجْنَا مَن كَانَ فِيهَا مِنَ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ
51:35
So We picked out those who were in it of the faithful, - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
51:36
فَمَا وَجَدْنَا فِيهَا غَيْرَ بَيْتٍ مِّنَ ٱلْمُسْلِمِينَ
51:36
but We did not find there other than one house of Muslims, - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
51:37
وَتَرَكْنَا فِيهَآ ءَايَةً لِّلَّذِينَ يَخَافُونَ ٱلْعَذَابَ ٱلْأَلِيمَ
51:37
and We have left therein a sign for those who fear a painful punishment.’ - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
51:38
وَفِى مُوسَىٰٓ إِذْ أَرْسَلْنَـٰهُ إِلَىٰ فِرْعَوْنَ بِسُلْطَـٰنٍ مُّبِينٍ
51:38
And in Moses [too there is a sign] when We sent him to Pharaoh with a manifest authority. - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
51:39
فَتَوَلَّىٰ بِرُكْنِهِۦ وَقَالَ سَـٰحِرٌ أَوْ مَجْنُونٌ
51:39
But he turned away assured of his might, and said, ‘A magician or a crazy man!’ - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
51:40
فَأَخَذْنَـٰهُ وَجُنُودَهُۥ فَنَبَذْنَـٰهُمْ فِى ٱلْيَمِّ وَهُوَ مُلِيمٌ
51:40
So We seized him and his hosts, and cast them into the sea, while he was blameworthy. - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
51:41
وَفِى عَادٍ إِذْ أَرْسَلْنَا عَلَيْهِمُ ٱلرِّيحَ ٱلْعَقِيمَ
51:41
And in ‘Ad when We unleashed upon them a barren wind. - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
51:42
مَا تَذَرُ مِن شَىْءٍ أَتَتْ عَلَيْهِ إِلَّا جَعَلَتْهُ كَٱلرَّمِيمِ
51:42
It left nothing that it came upon without making it like decayed bones. - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
51:43
وَفِى ثَمُودَ إِذْ قِيلَ لَهُمْ تَمَتَّعُوا۟ حَتَّىٰ حِينٍ
51:43
And in Thamud, when they were told, ‘Enjoy for a while.’ - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
51:44
فَعَتَوْا۟ عَنْ أَمْرِ رَبِّهِمْ فَأَخَذَتْهُمُ ٱلصَّـٰعِقَةُ وَهُمْ يَنظُرُونَ
51:44
Then they defied the command of their Lord; so the thunderbolt seized them as they looked on. - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
51:45
فَمَا ٱسْتَطَـٰعُوا۟ مِن قِيَامٍ وَمَا كَانُوا۟ مُنتَصِرِينَ
51:45
So they were neither able to rise up, nor to come to one another’s aid. - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
51:46
وَقَوْمَ نُوحٍ مِّن قَبْلُ ۖ إِنَّهُمْ كَانُوا۟ قَوْمًا فَـٰسِقِينَ
51:46
And the people of Noah aforetime. Indeed, they were a transgressing lot. - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
51:47
وَٱلسَّمَآءَ بَنَيْنَـٰهَا بِأَيْي۟دٍ وَإِنَّا لَمُوسِعُونَ
51:47
We have built the heaven with might, and indeed it is We who are its expanders. - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
51:48
وَٱلْأَرْضَ فَرَشْنَـٰهَا فَنِعْمَ ٱلْمَـٰهِدُونَ
51:48
And We have spread out the earth, so how excellent spreaders We have been! - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
51:49
وَمِن كُلِّ شَىْءٍ خَلَقْنَا زَوْجَيْنِ لَعَلَّكُمْ تَذَكَّرُونَ
51:49
In all things We have created pairs so that you may take admonition. - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
51:50
فَفِرُّوٓا۟ إِلَى ٱللَّهِ ۖ إِنِّى لَكُم مِّنْهُ نَذِيرٌ مُّبِينٌ
51:50
‘So flee toward Allah. Indeed, I am from Him a manifest warner to you. - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
51:51
وَلَا تَجْعَلُوا۟ مَعَ ٱللَّهِ إِلَـٰهًا ءَاخَرَ ۖ إِنِّى لَكُم مِّنْهُ نَذِيرٌ مُّبِينٌ
51:51
Do not set up another god besides Allah. Indeed I am from Him a manifest warner to you.’ - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
51:52
كَذَٰلِكَ مَآ أَتَى ٱلَّذِينَ مِن قَبْلِهِم مِّن رَّسُولٍ إِلَّا قَالُوا۟ سَاحِرٌ أَوْ مَجْنُونٌ
51:52
So it was that there did not come any apostle to those who were before them but they said, ‘A magician,’ or ‘A crazy man!’ - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
51:53
أَتَوَاصَوْا۟ بِهِۦ ۚ بَلْ هُمْ قَوْمٌ طَاغُونَ
51:53
Did they enjoin this upon one another?! Rather, they were a rebellious lot. - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
51:54
فَتَوَلَّ عَنْهُمْ فَمَآ أَنتَ بِمَلُومٍ
51:54
So turn away from them, as you will not be blameworthy. - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
51:55
وَذَكِّرْ فَإِنَّ ٱلذِّكْرَىٰ تَنفَعُ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ
51:55
And admonish, for admonition indeed benefits the faithful. - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
51:56
وَمَا خَلَقْتُ ٱلْجِنَّ وَٱلْإِنسَ إِلَّا لِيَعْبُدُونِ
51:56
I did not create the jinn and the humans except that they may worship Me. - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
51:57
مَآ أُرِيدُ مِنْهُم مِّن رِّزْقٍ وَمَآ أُرِيدُ أَن يُطْعِمُونِ
51:57
I desire no provision from them, nor do I desire that they should feed Me. - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
51:58
إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ هُوَ ٱلرَّزَّاقُ ذُو ٱلْقُوَّةِ ٱلْمَتِينُ
51:58
Indeed it is Allah who is the All-provider, Powerful and All-strong. - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
51:59
فَإِنَّ لِلَّذِينَ ظَلَمُوا۟ ذَنُوبًا مِّثْلَ ذَنُوبِ أَصْحَـٰبِهِمْ فَلَا يَسْتَعْجِلُونِ
51:59
Indeed the lot of those who do wrong [now] will be like the lot of their [earlier] counterparts. So let them not ask Me to hasten on [that fate]. - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
51:60
فَوَيْلٌ لِّلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ مِن يَوْمِهِمُ ٱلَّذِى يُوعَدُونَ
51:60
Woe to the faithless for the day they are promised! - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
