بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful.
92:1
وَٱلَّيْلِ إِذَا يَغْشَىٰ
92:1
By the night when it enshrouds, - Abul Ala Maududi (English)
92:2
وَٱلنَّهَارِ إِذَا تَجَلَّىٰ
92:2
and by the day when it breaks in its glory, - Abul Ala Maududi (English)
92:3
وَمَا خَلَقَ ٱلذَّكَرَ وَٱلْأُنثَىٰٓ
92:3
and by Him Who created the male and the female: - Abul Ala Maududi (English)
92:4
إِنَّ سَعْيَكُمْ لَشَتَّىٰ
92:4
surely your strivings are divergent. - Abul Ala Maududi (English)
92:5
فَأَمَّا مَنْ أَعْطَىٰ وَٱتَّقَىٰ
92:5
As for him who gave out his wealth (for Allah's sake) and abstained (from disobeying Him), - Abul Ala Maududi (English)
92:6
وَصَدَّقَ بِٱلْحُسْنَىٰ
92:6
and affirmed the Truth of goodness: - Abul Ala Maududi (English)
92:7
فَسَنُيَسِّرُهُۥ لِلْيُسْرَىٰ
92:7
We shall facilitate for him the Way to Bliss. - Abul Ala Maududi (English)
92:8
وَأَمَّا مَنۢ بَخِلَ وَٱسْتَغْنَىٰ
92:8
As for him who was a miser and behaved with aversion (to Allah), - Abul Ala Maududi (English)
92:9
وَكَذَّبَ بِٱلْحُسْنَىٰ
92:9
and denied the Truth of goodness: - Abul Ala Maududi (English)
92:10
فَسَنُيَسِّرُهُۥ لِلْعُسْرَىٰ
92:10
We shall facilitate for him the way to Hardship, - Abul Ala Maududi (English)
92:11
وَمَا يُغْنِى عَنْهُ مَالُهُۥٓ إِذَا تَرَدَّىٰٓ
92:11
and his wealth shall be of no avail to him when he perishes. - Abul Ala Maududi (English)
92:12
إِنَّ عَلَيْنَا لَلْهُدَىٰ
92:12
Surely it is for Us to show the Right Way, - Abul Ala Maududi (English)
92:13
وَإِنَّ لَنَا لَلْـَٔاخِرَةَ وَٱلْأُولَىٰ
92:13
and to Us belong the Next Life and the present. - Abul Ala Maududi (English)
92:14
فَأَنذَرْتُكُمْ نَارًا تَلَظَّىٰ
92:14
I have now warned you of a Blazing Fire, - Abul Ala Maududi (English)
92:15
لَا يَصْلَىٰهَآ إِلَّا ٱلْأَشْقَى
92:15
where none shall burn except the most wicked, - Abul Ala Maududi (English)
92:16
ٱلَّذِى كَذَّبَ وَتَوَلَّىٰ
92:16
who rejected the Truth, calling it falsehood and turned his back on it. - Abul Ala Maududi (English)
92:17
وَسَيُجَنَّبُهَا ٱلْأَتْقَى
92:17
But the God-fearing shall be kept away from it, - Abul Ala Maududi (English)
92:18
ٱلَّذِى يُؤْتِى مَالَهُۥ يَتَزَكَّىٰ
92:18
the Godfearing who spends his wealth to purify himself; - Abul Ala Maududi (English)
92:19
وَمَا لِأَحَدٍ عِندَهُۥ مِن نِّعْمَةٍ تُجْزَىٰٓ
92:19
not as payment for any favours that he received, - Abul Ala Maududi (English)
92:20
إِلَّا ٱبْتِغَآءَ وَجْهِ رَبِّهِ ٱلْأَعْلَىٰ
92:20
but only to seek the good pleasure of his Lord Most High. - Abul Ala Maududi (English)
92:21
وَلَسَوْفَ يَرْضَىٰ
92:21
He will surely be well-pleased (with him). - Abul Ala Maududi (English)
