بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful.
92:1
وَٱلَّيْلِ إِذَا يَغْشَىٰ
92:1
By the night enshrouding - A. J. Arberry (English)

وَٱلنَّهَارِ إِذَا تَجَلَّىٰ
92:2
and the day in splendour - A. J. Arberry (English)
92:3
وَمَا خَلَقَ ٱلذَّكَرَ وَٱلْأُنثَىٰٓ
92:3
and That which created the male and the female, - A. J. Arberry (English)
92:4
إِنَّ سَعْيَكُمْ لَشَتَّىٰ
92:4
surely your striving is to diverse ends. - A. J. Arberry (English)
92:5
فَأَمَّا مَنْ أَعْطَىٰ وَٱتَّقَىٰ
92:5
As for him who gives and is godfearing - A. J. Arberry (English)
92:6
وَصَدَّقَ بِٱلْحُسْنَىٰ
92:6
and confirms the reward most fair, - A. J. Arberry (English)
92:7
فَسَنُيَسِّرُهُۥ لِلْيُسْرَىٰ
92:7
We shall surely ease him to the Easing. - A. J. Arberry (English)
92:8
وَأَمَّا مَنۢ بَخِلَ وَٱسْتَغْنَىٰ
92:8
But as for him who is a miser, and self-sufficient, - A. J. Arberry (English)
92:9
وَكَذَّبَ بِٱلْحُسْنَىٰ
92:9
and cries lies to the reward most fair, - A. J. Arberry (English)
92:10
فَسَنُيَسِّرُهُۥ لِلْعُسْرَىٰ
92:10
We shall surely ease him to the Hardship; - A. J. Arberry (English)
92:11
وَمَا يُغْنِى عَنْهُ مَالُهُۥٓ إِذَا تَرَدَّىٰٓ
92:11
his wealth shall not avail him when he perishes. - A. J. Arberry (English)
92:12
إِنَّ عَلَيْنَا لَلْهُدَىٰ
92:12
Surely upon Us rests the guidance, - A. J. Arberry (English)
92:13
وَإِنَّ لَنَا لَلْـَٔاخِرَةَ وَٱلْأُولَىٰ
92:13
and to Us belong the Last and the First. - A. J. Arberry (English)
92:14
فَأَنذَرْتُكُمْ نَارًا تَلَظَّىٰ
92:14
Now I have warned you of a Fire that flames, - A. J. Arberry (English)
92:15
لَا يَصْلَىٰهَآ إِلَّا ٱلْأَشْقَى
92:15
whereat none but the most wretched shall be roasted, - A. J. Arberry (English)
92:16
ٱلَّذِى كَذَّبَ وَتَوَلَّىٰ
92:16
even he who cried lies, and turned away; - A. J. Arberry (English)
92:17
وَسَيُجَنَّبُهَا ٱلْأَتْقَى
92:17
and from which the most godfearing shall be removed, - A. J. Arberry (English)
92:18
ٱلَّذِى يُؤْتِى مَالَهُۥ يَتَزَكَّىٰ
92:18
even he who gives his wealth. to purify himself - A. J. Arberry (English)
92:19
وَمَا لِأَحَدٍ عِندَهُۥ مِن نِّعْمَةٍ تُجْزَىٰٓ
92:19
and confers no favour on any man for recompense, - A. J. Arberry (English)
92:20
إِلَّا ٱبْتِغَآءَ وَجْهِ رَبِّهِ ٱلْأَعْلَىٰ
92:20
only seeking the Face of his Lord the Most High; - A. J. Arberry (English)
92:21
وَلَسَوْفَ يَرْضَىٰ
92:21
and he shall surely be satisfied. - A. J. Arberry (English)
