بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful.
92:1
وَٱلَّيْلِ إِذَا يَغْشَىٰ
92:1
By oath of the night when it covers - Ahmed Raza Khan (English)
92:2
وَٱلنَّهَارِ إِذَا تَجَلَّىٰ
92:2
And by oath of the day when it shines - Ahmed Raza Khan (English)
92:3
وَمَا خَلَقَ ٱلذَّكَرَ وَٱلْأُنثَىٰٓ
92:3
And by oath of the One Who created the male and the female. - Ahmed Raza Khan (English)
92:4
إِنَّ سَعْيَكُمْ لَشَتَّىٰ
92:4
Indeed your efforts differ. - Ahmed Raza Khan (English)
92:5
فَأَمَّا مَنْ أَعْطَىٰ وَٱتَّقَىٰ
92:5
So for one who gave and practised piety - Ahmed Raza Khan (English)
92:6
وَصَدَّقَ بِٱلْحُسْنَىٰ
92:6
And believed the best matter to be true - Ahmed Raza Khan (English)
92:7
فَسَنُيَسِّرُهُۥ لِلْيُسْرَىٰ
92:7
So We will very soon provide him ease. - Ahmed Raza Khan (English)
92:8
وَأَمَّا مَنۢ بَخِلَ وَٱسْتَغْنَىٰ
92:8
And for him who hoarded wealth and remained carefree, - Ahmed Raza Khan (English)
92:9
وَكَذَّبَ بِٱلْحُسْنَىٰ
92:9
And denied the best matter, - Ahmed Raza Khan (English)
92:10
فَسَنُيَسِّرُهُۥ لِلْعُسْرَىٰ
92:10
So We will very soon provide him hardship. - Ahmed Raza Khan (English)
92:11
وَمَا يُغْنِى عَنْهُ مَالُهُۥٓ إِذَا تَرَدَّىٰٓ
92:11
His wealth will not avail him when he falls into ruin. - Ahmed Raza Khan (English)
92:12
إِنَّ عَلَيْنَا لَلْهُدَىٰ
92:12
Indeed guiding is upon Us. - Ahmed Raza Khan (English)
92:13
وَإِنَّ لَنَا لَلْـَٔاخِرَةَ وَٱلْأُولَىٰ
92:13
And indeed the Hereafter and this world both belong to Us. - Ahmed Raza Khan (English)
92:14
فَأَنذَرْتُكُمْ نَارًا تَلَظَّىٰ
92:14
I therefore warn you of the fire that is ablaze. - Ahmed Raza Khan (English)
92:15
لَا يَصْلَىٰهَآ إِلَّا ٱلْأَشْقَى
92:15
None except the most wicked will enter it. - Ahmed Raza Khan (English)
92:16
ٱلَّذِى كَذَّبَ وَتَوَلَّىٰ
92:16
The one who denied and turned away. - Ahmed Raza Khan (English)
92:17
وَسَيُجَنَّبُهَا ٱلْأَتْقَى
92:17
He will be far away from the most pious. (The first Caliph S. Abu Bakr Siddiq) - Ahmed Raza Khan (English)
92:18
ٱلَّذِى يُؤْتِى مَالَهُۥ يَتَزَكَّىٰ
92:18
Who gives his wealth in order to be pure. - Ahmed Raza Khan (English)
92:19
وَمَا لِأَحَدٍ عِندَهُۥ مِن نِّعْمَةٍ تُجْزَىٰٓ
92:19
And no one has done a favour to him, for which he should be compensated. - Ahmed Raza Khan (English)
92:20
إِلَّا ٱبْتِغَآءَ وَجْهِ رَبِّهِ ٱلْأَعْلَىٰ
92:20
He desires only to please his Lord, the Supreme. - Ahmed Raza Khan (English)
92:21
وَلَسَوْفَ يَرْضَىٰ
92:21
And indeed, soon he will be very pleased. - Ahmed Raza Khan (English)
