Transliteration
Wahiduddin Khan
بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful.
92:1
وَٱلَّيْلِ إِذَا يَغْشَىٰ
92:1
I swear by the night when it draws a veil, - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
92:2
وَٱلنَّهَارِ إِذَا تَجَلَّىٰ
92:2
And the day when it shines in brightness, - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
92:3
وَمَا خَلَقَ ٱلذَّكَرَ وَٱلْأُنثَىٰٓ
92:3
And the creating of the male and the female, - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
92:4
إِنَّ سَعْيَكُمْ لَشَتَّىٰ
92:4
Your striving is most surely (directed to) various (ends). - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
92:5
فَأَمَّا مَنْ أَعْطَىٰ وَٱتَّقَىٰ
92:5
Then as for him who gives away and guards (against evil), - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
92:6
وَصَدَّقَ بِٱلْحُسْنَىٰ
92:6
And accepts the best, - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
92:7
فَسَنُيَسِّرُهُۥ لِلْيُسْرَىٰ
92:7
We will facilitate for him the easy end. - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
92:8
وَأَمَّا مَنۢ بَخِلَ وَٱسْتَغْنَىٰ
92:8
And as for him who is niggardly and considers himself free from need (of Allah), - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
92:9
وَكَذَّبَ بِٱلْحُسْنَىٰ
92:9
And rejects the best, - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
92:10
فَسَنُيَسِّرُهُۥ لِلْعُسْرَىٰ
92:10
We will facilitate for him the difficult end. - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
92:11
وَمَا يُغْنِى عَنْهُ مَالُهُۥٓ إِذَا تَرَدَّىٰٓ
92:11
And his wealth will not avail him when he perishes. - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
92:12
إِنَّ عَلَيْنَا لَلْهُدَىٰ
92:12
Surely Ours is it to show the way, - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
92:13
وَإِنَّ لَنَا لَلْـَٔاخِرَةَ وَٱلْأُولَىٰ
92:13
And most surely Ours is the hereafter and the former. - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
92:14
فَأَنذَرْتُكُمْ نَارًا تَلَظَّىٰ
92:14
Therefore I warn you of the fire that flames: - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
92:15
لَا يَصْلَىٰهَآ إِلَّا ٱلْأَشْقَى
92:15
None shall enter it but the most unhappy, - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
92:16
ٱلَّذِى كَذَّبَ وَتَوَلَّىٰ
92:16
Who gives the lie (to the truth) and turns (his) back. - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
92:17
وَسَيُجَنَّبُهَا ٱلْأَتْقَى
92:17
And away from it shall be kept the one who guards most (against evil), - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
92:18
ٱلَّذِى يُؤْتِى مَالَهُۥ يَتَزَكَّىٰ
92:18
Who gives away his wealth, purifying himself - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
92:19
وَمَا لِأَحَدٍ عِندَهُۥ مِن نِّعْمَةٍ تُجْزَىٰٓ
92:19
And no one has with him any boon for which he should be rewarded, - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
92:20
إِلَّا ٱبْتِغَآءَ وَجْهِ رَبِّهِ ٱلْأَعْلَىٰ
92:20
Except the seeking of the pleasure of his Lord, the Most High. - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
92:21
وَلَسَوْفَ يَرْضَىٰ
92:21
And he shall soon be well-pleased. - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
