92 Al-Layl ٱللَّيْل

بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful.
92:1 وَٱلَّيْلِ إِذَا يَغْشَىٰ
92:1
Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English) :
By the night, when it envelops,
92:2 وَٱلنَّهَارِ إِذَا تَجَلَّىٰ
92:2
Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English) :
and by the day when it unveils.
92:3 وَمَا خَلَقَ ٱلذَّكَرَ وَٱلْأُنثَىٰٓ
92:3
Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English) :
And by Who created the male and female,
92:4 إِنَّ سَعْيَكُمْ لَشَتَّىٰ
92:4
Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English) :
your striving is indeed to different ends!
92:5 فَأَمَّا مَنْ أَعْطَىٰ وَٱتَّقَىٰ
92:5
Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English) :
For him that gives and fears (Allah)
92:6 وَصَدَّقَ بِٱلْحُسْنَىٰ
92:6
Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English) :
and believes in the finest,
92:7 فَسَنُيَسِّرُهُۥ لِلْيُسْرَىٰ
92:7
Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English) :
We shall surely ease him to the Path of Easing;
92:8 وَأَمَّا مَنۢ بَخِلَ وَٱسْتَغْنَىٰ
92:8
Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English) :
but for him that is a miser, and sufficed,
92:9 وَكَذَّبَ بِٱلْحُسْنَىٰ
92:9
Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English) :
and he belied the finest
92:10 فَسَنُيَسِّرُهُۥ لِلْعُسْرَىٰ
92:10
Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English) :
We shall surely ease for him the Path of Hardship (the Fire).
92:11 وَمَا يُغْنِى عَنْهُ مَالُهُۥٓ إِذَا تَرَدَّىٰٓ
92:11
Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English) :
When he falls (into Hell), his wealth will not help him.
92:12 إِنَّ عَلَيْنَا لَلْهُدَىٰ
92:12
Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English) :
Indeed, Guidance is Ours,
92:13 وَإِنَّ لَنَا لَلْـَٔاخِرَةَ وَٱلْأُولَىٰ
92:13
Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English) :
and to Us belong the Last and the First.
92:14 فَأَنذَرْتُكُمْ نَارًا تَلَظَّىٰ
92:14
Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English) :
I have now warned you of the Blazing Fire,
92:15 لَا يَصْلَىٰهَآ إِلَّا ٱلْأَشْقَى
92:15
Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English) :
in which none shall be roasted except the most wretched sinner,
92:16 ٱلَّذِى كَذَّبَ وَتَوَلَّىٰ
92:16
Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English) :
who belied and turned away,
92:17 وَسَيُجَنَّبُهَا ٱلْأَتْقَى
92:17

and from which the cautious shall be distanced.
92:18 ٱلَّذِى يُؤْتِى مَالَهُۥ يَتَزَكَّىٰ
92:18
Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English) :
He who gives his wealth to be purified,
92:19 وَمَا لِأَحَدٍ عِندَهُۥ مِن نِّعْمَةٍ تُجْزَىٰٓ
92:19

and confers no favor upon anyone for recompense
92:20 إِلَّا ٱبْتِغَآءَ وَجْهِ رَبِّهِ ٱلْأَعْلَىٰ
92:20
Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English) :
seeking only the Face of his Lord, the Most High,
92:21 وَلَسَوْفَ يَرْضَىٰ
92:21
Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English) :
surely, he shall be satisfied.
