In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful.
69:1
ٱلْحَآقَّةُ
69:1
The Resurrection Verifier; - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
69:2
مَا ٱلْحَآقَّةُ
69:2
and what is the Resurrection Verifier? - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
69:3
وَمَآ أَدْرَىٰكَ مَا ٱلْحَآقَّةُ
69:3
What makes you to know what the Resurrection Verifier is? - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
69:4
كَذَّبَتْ ثَمُودُ وَعَادٌۢ بِٱلْقَارِعَةِ
69:4
Thamood and Aad belied the Clatterer. - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
69:5
فَأَمَّا ثَمُودُ فَأُهْلِكُوا۟ بِٱلطَّاغِيَةِ
69:5
Thamood, they were destroyed by the violent shout (of Gabriel), - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
69:6
وَأَمَّا عَادٌ فَأُهْلِكُوا۟ بِرِيحٍ صَرْصَرٍ عَاتِيَةٍ
69:6
as for Aad, they were destroyed by a howling, violent wind - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
69:7
سَخَّرَهَا عَلَيْهِمْ سَبْعَ لَيَالٍ وَثَمَـٰنِيَةَ أَيَّامٍ حُسُومًا فَتَرَى ٱلْقَوْمَ فِيهَا صَرْعَىٰ كَأَنَّهُمْ أَعْجَازُ نَخْلٍ خَاوِيَةٍ
69:7
that He subjected upon them for seven nights and eight days consecutively and you might have seen them struck down as if they were the stumps of palm trees that had fallen down. - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
69:8
فَهَلْ تَرَىٰ لَهُم مِّنۢ بَاقِيَةٍ
69:8
Can you see any remnant of them now? - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
69:9
وَجَآءَ فِرْعَوْنُ وَمَن قَبْلَهُۥ وَٱلْمُؤْتَفِكَـٰتُ بِٱلْخَاطِئَةِ
69:9
Similarly, Pharaoh, and those before him, and the ruined villages, sinned - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
69:10
فَعَصَوْا۟ رَسُولَ رَبِّهِمْ فَأَخَذَهُمْ أَخْذَةً رَّابِيَةً
69:10
and rebelled against their Lord's Messenger. So He took them with a stern taking. - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
69:11
إِنَّا لَمَّا طَغَا ٱلْمَآءُ حَمَلْنَـٰكُمْ فِى ٱلْجَارِيَةِ
69:11
And when the waters rose (high) We carried you in the sailing (Ark), - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
69:12
لِنَجْعَلَهَا لَكُمْ تَذْكِرَةً وَتَعِيَهَآ أُذُنٌ وَٰعِيَةٌ
69:12
making it a Reminder for you, for all attentive ears to retain. - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
69:13
فَإِذَا نُفِخَ فِى ٱلصُّورِ نَفْخَةٌ وَٰحِدَةٌ
69:13
When a single blow is blown on the Horn, - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
69:14
وَحُمِلَتِ ٱلْأَرْضُ وَٱلْجِبَالُ فَدُكَّتَا دَكَّةً وَٰحِدَةً
69:14
when the earth with all its mountains is lifted up and crushed with a single blow, - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
69:15
فَيَوْمَئِذٍ وَقَعَتِ ٱلْوَاقِعَةُ
69:15
on that Day, the Event occurs. - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
69:16
وَٱنشَقَّتِ ٱلسَّمَآءُ فَهِىَ يَوْمَئِذٍ وَاهِيَةٌ
69:16
The heaven will be split; because on that Day it will be frail. - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
69:17
وَٱلْمَلَكُ عَلَىٰٓ أَرْجَآئِهَا ۚ وَيَحْمِلُ عَرْشَ رَبِّكَ فَوْقَهُمْ يَوْمَئِذٍ ثَمَـٰنِيَةٌ
69:17
The angels will stand on all its sides. And on that Day, eight (of them) will carry the Throne of your Lord above them. - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
69:18
يَوْمَئِذٍ تُعْرَضُونَ لَا تَخْفَىٰ مِنكُمْ خَافِيَةٌ
69:18
On that Day you shall be exposed, and no secret of yours will remain hidden. - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
69:19
فَأَمَّا مَنْ أُوتِىَ كِتَـٰبَهُۥ بِيَمِينِهِۦ فَيَقُولُ هَآؤُمُ ٱقْرَءُوا۟ كِتَـٰبِيَهْ
69:19
Then, he who is given his book in his right hand will say: 'Here, take and read my book! - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
69:20
إِنِّى ظَنَنتُ أَنِّى مُلَـٰقٍ حِسَابِيَهْ
69:20
Indeed, I knew that I should come to my reckoning' - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
69:21
فَهُوَ فِى عِيشَةٍ رَّاضِيَةٍ
69:21
His shall be a pleasing life - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
69:22
فِى جَنَّةٍ عَالِيَةٍ
69:22
in a high Garden, - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
69:23
قُطُوفُهَا دَانِيَةٌ
69:23
its fruits are near. - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
69:24
كُلُوا۟ وَٱشْرَبُوا۟ هَنِيٓـًٔۢا بِمَآ أَسْلَفْتُمْ فِى ٱلْأَيَّامِ ٱلْخَالِيَةِ
69:24
(It will be said): 'Eat and drink with a good appetite because of what you did in days long passed' - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
69:25
وَأَمَّا مَنْ أُوتِىَ كِتَـٰبَهُۥ بِشِمَالِهِۦ فَيَقُولُ يَـٰلَيْتَنِى لَمْ أُوتَ كِتَـٰبِيَهْ
69:25
But, he who is given his book in his left hand will say: 'Woe to me, would that my book had not been given to me! - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
69:26
وَلَمْ أَدْرِ مَا حِسَابِيَهْ
69:26
Nor that I knew my reckoning! - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
69:27
يَـٰلَيْتَهَا كَانَتِ ٱلْقَاضِيَةَ
69:27
Would that it (my death) had ended it all! - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
69:28
مَآ أَغْنَىٰ عَنِّى مَالِيَهْ ۜ
69:28
My wealth has not helped me a thing - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
69:29
هَلَكَ عَنِّى سُلْطَـٰنِيَهْ
69:29
and my authority has been destroyed' - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
69:30
خُذُوهُ فَغُلُّوهُ
69:30
(It will be said): 'Take him and bind him. - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
69:31
ثُمَّ ٱلْجَحِيمَ صَلُّوهُ
69:31
Roast him in Hell, - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
69:32
ثُمَّ فِى سِلْسِلَةٍ ذَرْعُهَا سَبْعُونَ ذِرَاعًا فَٱسْلُكُوهُ
69:32
then in a chain seventy arm's lengths long insert him. - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
69:33
إِنَّهُۥ كَانَ لَا يُؤْمِنُ بِٱللَّهِ ٱلْعَظِيمِ
69:33
He did not believe in Allah, the Great, - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
69:34
وَلَا يَحُضُّ عَلَىٰ طَعَامِ ٱلْمِسْكِينِ
69:34
nor did he urge the feeding of the needy. - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
69:35
فَلَيْسَ لَهُ ٱلْيَوْمَ هَـٰهُنَا حَمِيمٌ
69:35
Today he shall have no loyal friend here, - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
69:36
وَلَا طَعَامٌ إِلَّا مِنْ غِسْلِينٍ
69:36
nor any food except foul pus - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
69:37
لَّا يَأْكُلُهُۥٓ إِلَّا ٱلْخَـٰطِـُٔونَ
69:37
that none but sinners eat' - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
69:38
فَلَآ أُقْسِمُ بِمَا تُبْصِرُونَ
69:38
I swear by all that you can see, - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
69:39
وَمَا لَا تُبْصِرُونَ
69:39
and all that you do not see, - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
69:40
إِنَّهُۥ لَقَوْلُ رَسُولٍ كَرِيمٍ
69:40
that this is the speech of a noble Messenger. - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
69:41
وَمَا هُوَ بِقَوْلِ شَاعِرٍ ۚ قَلِيلًا مَّا تُؤْمِنُونَ
69:41
It is not the speech of a poet little do you believe - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
69:42
وَلَا بِقَوْلِ كَاهِنٍ ۚ قَلِيلًا مَّا تَذَكَّرُونَ
69:42
nor is it the speech of a soothsayer little do you remember. - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
69:43
تَنزِيلٌ مِّن رَّبِّ ٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ
69:43
(It is) a sending down from the Lord of all the Worlds. - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
69:44
وَلَوْ تَقَوَّلَ عَلَيْنَا بَعْضَ ٱلْأَقَاوِيلِ
69:44
Had he invented sayings against Us, - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
69:45
لَأَخَذْنَا مِنْهُ بِٱلْيَمِينِ
69:45
We would have seized him by the right hand - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
69:46
ثُمَّ لَقَطَعْنَا مِنْهُ ٱلْوَتِينَ
69:46
then, We would surely have cut from him the aorta (vein) - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
69:47
فَمَا مِنكُم مِّنْ أَحَدٍ عَنْهُ حَـٰجِزِينَ
69:47
not one of you could have prevented it from him. - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
69:48
وَإِنَّهُۥ لَتَذْكِرَةٌ لِّلْمُتَّقِينَ
69:48
Indeed, it is a Reminder to those who fear Allah, - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
69:49
وَإِنَّا لَنَعْلَمُ أَنَّ مِنكُم مُّكَذِّبِينَ
69:49
We know that there are some among you who will belie. - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
69:50
وَإِنَّهُۥ لَحَسْرَةٌ عَلَى ٱلْكَـٰفِرِينَ
69:50
Indeed, it is a sorrow to the unbelievers - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
69:51
وَإِنَّهُۥ لَحَقُّ ٱلْيَقِينِ
69:51
yet it is a certain truth. - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
69:52
فَسَبِّحْ بِٱسْمِ رَبِّكَ ٱلْعَظِيمِ
69:52
Exalt the Name of your Lord, the Great. - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
