بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful.
84:1 إِذَا ٱلسَّمَآءُ ٱنشَقَّتْ
84:1

When the heaven is sundered.
84:2 وَأَذِنَتْ لِرَبِّهَا وَحُقَّتْ
84:2
Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English) :
And it hearkeneth to its Lord, and is duteous,
84:3 وَإِذَا ٱلْأَرْضُ مُدَّتْ
84:3
Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English) :
And when the earth shall be stretched forth.
84:4 وَأَلْقَتْ مَا فِيهَا وَتَخَلَّتْ
84:4
Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English) :
And shall cast forth that which is therein, and shall become empty.
84:5 وَأَذِنَتْ لِرَبِّهَا وَحُقَّتْ
84:5
Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English) :
And it hearkeneth to its Lord, and is duteous.
84:6 يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلْإِنسَـٰنُ إِنَّكَ كَادِحٌ إِلَىٰ رَبِّكَ كَدْحًا فَمُلَـٰقِيهِ
84:6
Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English) :
O man! verily thou art toiling toward thy Lord a painful toiling, and art about to meet Him.
84:7 فَأَمَّا مَنْ أُوتِىَ كِتَـٰبَهُۥ بِيَمِينِهِۦ

Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English) :
Then as to him who shall be given his book in his right hand -
84:8 فَسَوْفَ يُحَاسَبُ حِسَابًا يَسِيرًا
84:8
Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English) :
His account shall presently be taken by an easy reckoning.
84:9 وَيَنقَلِبُ إِلَىٰٓ أَهْلِهِۦ مَسْرُورًا
84:9
Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English) :
And he shall return Unto his people joyfully.
84:10 وَأَمَّا مَنْ أُوتِىَ كِتَـٰبَهُۥ وَرَآءَ ظَهْرِهِۦ

Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English) :
And as to him who shall be given his book from behind his back-
84:11 فَسَوْفَ يَدْعُوا۟ ثُبُورًا
84:11
Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English) :
He shall presently call for death,
84:12 وَيَصْلَىٰ سَعِيرًا

And he shall roast into a Blaze.
84:13 إِنَّهُۥ كَانَ فِىٓ أَهْلِهِۦ مَسْرُورًا
84:13
Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English) :
Verily he was among his people joyous.
84:14 إِنَّهُۥ ظَنَّ أَن لَّن يَحُورَ

Verily he imagined that he would not be back.
84:15 بَلَىٰٓ إِنَّ رَبَّهُۥ كَانَ بِهِۦ بَصِيرًا
84:15
Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English) :
Yea! his Lord had ever been beholding him.
84:16 فَلَآ أُقْسِمُ بِٱلشَّفَقِ
84:16
Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English) :
I swear by the afterglow of sunset,
84:17 وَٱلَّيْلِ وَمَا وَسَقَ
84:17
Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English) :
And by the night and that which it driveth together,
84:18 وَٱلْقَمَرِ إِذَا ٱتَّسَقَ

And by the moon when she becometh full.
84:19 لَتَرْكَبُنَّ طَبَقًا عَن طَبَقٍ
84:19
Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English) :
Surely ye shall ride layer upon layer.
84:20 فَمَا لَهُمْ لَا يُؤْمِنُونَ
84:20
Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English) :
What aileth them then, that they believe not,
84:21 وَإِذَا قُرِئَ عَلَيْهِمُ ٱلْقُرْءَانُ لَا يَسْجُدُونَ ۩

Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English) :
And that, when the Qur'an is read Unto them, they prostrate not them-selves!
84:22 بَلِ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ يُكَذِّبُونَ
84:22
Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English) :
Yea those who disbelieve belie.
84:23 وَٱللَّهُ أَعْلَمُ بِمَا يُوعُونَ
84:23
Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English) :
Whereas Allah knoweth best that which they cherish.
84:24 فَبَشِّرْهُم بِعَذَابٍ أَلِيمٍ
84:24
Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English) :
Wherefore announce thou Unto them a torment afflictive.
84:25 إِلَّا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ وَعَمِلُوا۟ ٱلصَّـٰلِحَـٰتِ لَهُمْ أَجْرٌ غَيْرُ مَمْنُونٍۭ
84:25
Abdul Majid Daryabadi (English) :
But those who believe and work righteous works, theirs shall be a hire unending.
