بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful.
91:1
وَٱلشَّمْسِ وَضُحَىٰهَا
91:1
By the sun and her forenoon splendour, - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
91:2
وَٱلْقَمَرِ إِذَا تَلَىٰهَا
91:2
by the moon when he follows her, - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
91:3
وَٱلنَّهَارِ إِذَا جَلَّىٰهَا
91:3
by the day when it reveals her, - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
91:4
وَٱلَّيْلِ إِذَا يَغْشَىٰهَا
91:4
by the night when it covers her, - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
91:5
وَٱلسَّمَآءِ وَمَا بَنَىٰهَا
91:5
by the sky and Him who built it, - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
91:6
وَٱلْأَرْضِ وَمَا طَحَىٰهَا
91:6
by the earth and Him who spread it, - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
91:7
وَنَفْسٍ وَمَا سَوَّىٰهَا
91:7
by the soul and Him who fashioned it, - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
91:8
فَأَلْهَمَهَا فُجُورَهَا وَتَقْوَىٰهَا
91:8
and inspired it with [discernment between] its virtues and vices: - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
91:9
قَدْ أَفْلَحَ مَن زَكَّىٰهَا
91:9
one who purifies it is felicitous, - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
91:10
وَقَدْ خَابَ مَن دَسَّىٰهَا
91:10
and one who betrays it fails. - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
91:11
كَذَّبَتْ ثَمُودُ بِطَغْوَىٰهَآ
91:11
The [people of] Thamud denied [Allah’s signs] out of their rebellion, - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
91:12
إِذِ ٱنۢبَعَثَ أَشْقَىٰهَا
91:12
when the most wretched of them rose up. - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
91:13
فَقَالَ لَهُمْ رَسُولُ ٱللَّهِ نَاقَةَ ٱللَّهِ وَسُقْيَـٰهَا
91:13
The apostle of Allah had told them, ‘This is Allah’s she-camel, let her drink!’ - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
91:14
فَكَذَّبُوهُ فَعَقَرُوهَا فَدَمْدَمَ عَلَيْهِمْ رَبُّهُم بِذَنۢبِهِمْ فَسَوَّىٰهَا
91:14
But they impugned him and hamstrung her. So their Lord took them unawares by night because of their sin, and levelled it. - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
91:15
وَلَا يَخَافُ عُقْبَـٰهَا
91:15
And He does not fear its outcome. - Ali Quli Qarai (English)
