بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful.
91:1
وَٱلشَّمْسِ وَضُحَىٰهَا
91:1
By oath of the sun and its light - Ahmed Raza Khan (English)
91:2
وَٱلْقَمَرِ إِذَا تَلَىٰهَا
91:2
And by oath of the moon when it follows the sun - Ahmed Raza Khan (English)
91:3
وَٱلنَّهَارِ إِذَا جَلَّىٰهَا
91:3
And by oath of the day when it reveals it - Ahmed Raza Khan (English)
91:4
وَٱلَّيْلِ إِذَا يَغْشَىٰهَا
91:4
And by oath of the night when it hides it - Ahmed Raza Khan (English)
91:5
وَٱلسَّمَآءِ وَمَا بَنَىٰهَا
91:5
And by oath of the heaven and by oath of Him Who made it. - Ahmed Raza Khan (English)
91:6
وَٱلْأَرْضِ وَمَا طَحَىٰهَا
91:6
And by oath of the earth and by oath of Him Who spread it. - Ahmed Raza Khan (English)
91:7
وَنَفْسٍ وَمَا سَوَّىٰهَا
91:7
And by oath of the soul and by oath of Him Who made it proper. - Ahmed Raza Khan (English)
91:8
فَأَلْهَمَهَا فُجُورَهَا وَتَقْوَىٰهَا
91:8
And inspired in it the knowledge of its sins and its piety. - Ahmed Raza Khan (English)
91:9
قَدْ أَفْلَحَ مَن زَكَّىٰهَا
91:9
Indeed successful is the one who made it pure. - Ahmed Raza Khan (English)
91:10
وَقَدْ خَابَ مَن دَسَّىٰهَا
91:10
And indeed failed is the one who covered it in sin. - Ahmed Raza Khan (English)
91:11
كَذَّبَتْ ثَمُودُ بِطَغْوَىٰهَآ
91:11
The tribe of Thamud denied with rebellion. - Ahmed Raza Khan (English)
91:12
إِذِ ٱنۢبَعَثَ أَشْقَىٰهَا
91:12
When the most wicked among them stood up in defiance. - Ahmed Raza Khan (English)
91:13
فَقَالَ لَهُمْ رَسُولُ ٱللَّهِ نَاقَةَ ٱللَّهِ وَسُقْيَـٰهَا
91:13
So the Noble Messenger of Allah said to them, “Stay away from the she camel of Allah, and from its turn to drink.” - Ahmed Raza Khan (English)
91:14
فَكَذَّبُوهُ فَعَقَرُوهَا فَدَمْدَمَ عَلَيْهِمْ رَبُّهُم بِذَنۢبِهِمْ فَسَوَّىٰهَا
91:14
In response they belied him, and hamstrung the she camel – so Allah put ruin over them because of their sins and flattened their dwellings. - Ahmed Raza Khan (English)

وَلَا يَخَافُ عُقْبَـٰهَا
91:15
And He does not fear its coming behind (to take vengeance). - Ahmed Raza Khan (English)
