بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful.
91:1
وَٱلشَّمْسِ وَضُحَىٰهَا
91:1
I swear by the sun and its brilliance, - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
91:2
وَٱلْقَمَرِ إِذَا تَلَىٰهَا
91:2
And the moon when it follows the sun, - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
91:3
وَٱلنَّهَارِ إِذَا جَلَّىٰهَا
91:3
And the day when it shows it, - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
91:4
وَٱلَّيْلِ إِذَا يَغْشَىٰهَا
91:4
And the night when it draws a veil over it, - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
91:5
وَٱلسَّمَآءِ وَمَا بَنَىٰهَا
91:5
And the heaven and Him Who made it, - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
91:6
وَٱلْأَرْضِ وَمَا طَحَىٰهَا
91:6
And the earth and Him Who extended it, - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
91:7
وَنَفْسٍ وَمَا سَوَّىٰهَا
91:7
And the soul and Him Who made it perfect, - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
91:8
فَأَلْهَمَهَا فُجُورَهَا وَتَقْوَىٰهَا
91:8
Then He inspired it to understand what is right and wrong for it; - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
91:9
قَدْ أَفْلَحَ مَن زَكَّىٰهَا
91:9
He will indeed be successful who purifies it, - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
91:10
وَقَدْ خَابَ مَن دَسَّىٰهَا
91:10
And he will indeed fail who corrupts it. - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
91:11
كَذَّبَتْ ثَمُودُ بِطَغْوَىٰهَآ
91:11
Samood gave the lie (to the truth) in their inordinacy, - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
91:12
إِذِ ٱنۢبَعَثَ أَشْقَىٰهَا
91:12
When the most unfortunate of them broke forth with - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
91:13
فَقَالَ لَهُمْ رَسُولُ ٱللَّهِ نَاقَةَ ٱللَّهِ وَسُقْيَـٰهَا
91:13
So Allah's apostle said to them (Leave alone) Allah's she-camel, and (give) her (to) drink. - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
91:14
فَكَذَّبُوهُ فَعَقَرُوهَا فَدَمْدَمَ عَلَيْهِمْ رَبُّهُم بِذَنۢبِهِمْ فَسَوَّىٰهَا
91:14
But they called him a liar and slaughtered her, therefore their Lord crushed them for their sin and levelled them (with the ground). - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
91:15
وَلَا يَخَافُ عُقْبَـٰهَا
91:15
And He fears not its consequence. - Mohammad Habib Shakir (English)
