بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful.
52:1
وَٱلطُّورِ
52:1
By oath of (mount) Tur. - Ahmed Raza Khan (English)
52:2
وَكِتَـٰبٍ مَّسْطُورٍ
52:2
And by oath of a passage, written – - Ahmed Raza Khan (English)
52:3
فِى رَقٍّ مَّنشُورٍ
52:3
On an open record. - Ahmed Raza Khan (English)
52:4
وَٱلْبَيْتِ ٱلْمَعْمُورِ
52:4
And by oath of the Inhabited House. - Ahmed Raza Khan (English)
52:5
وَٱلسَّقْفِ ٱلْمَرْفُوعِ
52:5
And the lofty roof. - Ahmed Raza Khan (English)
52:6
وَٱلْبَحْرِ ٱلْمَسْجُورِ
52:6
And the sea set aflame. - Ahmed Raza Khan (English)
52:7
إِنَّ عَذَابَ رَبِّكَ لَوَٰقِعٌ
52:7
Indeed your Lord’s punishment will surely take place. - Ahmed Raza Khan (English)
52:8
مَّا لَهُۥ مِن دَافِعٍ
52:8
No one can avert it. - Ahmed Raza Khan (English)
52:9
يَوْمَ تَمُورُ ٱلسَّمَآءُ مَوْرًا
52:9
A day on which the heavens will shake with a visible shaking. - Ahmed Raza Khan (English)
52:10
وَتَسِيرُ ٱلْجِبَالُ سَيْرًا
52:10
And the mountains will move with a visible movement. - Ahmed Raza Khan (English)
52:11
فَوَيْلٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ لِّلْمُكَذِّبِينَ
52:11
So on that day, ruin is for those who deny. - Ahmed Raza Khan (English)
52:12
ٱلَّذِينَ هُمْ فِى خَوْضٍ يَلْعَبُونَ
52:12
Those who are playing in pursuits. - Ahmed Raza Khan (English)
52:13
يَوْمَ يُدَعُّونَ إِلَىٰ نَارِ جَهَنَّمَ دَعًّا
52:13
A day when they will be pushed, forcibly shoved towards the fire of hell. - Ahmed Raza Khan (English)
52:14
هَـٰذِهِ ٱلنَّارُ ٱلَّتِى كُنتُم بِهَا تُكَذِّبُونَ
52:14
“This is the fire, which you used to deny!” - Ahmed Raza Khan (English)
52:15
أَفَسِحْرٌ هَـٰذَآ أَمْ أَنتُمْ لَا تُبْصِرُونَ
52:15
“So is this magic, or are you unable to see?” - Ahmed Raza Khan (English)
52:16
ٱصْلَوْهَا فَٱصْبِرُوٓا۟ أَوْ لَا تَصْبِرُوا۟ سَوَآءٌ عَلَيْكُمْ ۖ إِنَّمَا تُجْزَوْنَ مَا كُنتُمْ تَعْمَلُونَ
52:16
“Enter it – now whether you patiently bear it or are impatient – it is the same for you; for you is a recompense only for what you used to do.” - Ahmed Raza Khan (English)
52:17
إِنَّ ٱلْمُتَّقِينَ فِى جَنَّـٰتٍ وَنَعِيمٍ
52:17
Indeed the pious are in Gardens and peace. - Ahmed Raza Khan (English)
52:18
فَـٰكِهِينَ بِمَآ ءَاتَىٰهُمْ رَبُّهُمْ وَوَقَىٰهُمْ رَبُّهُمْ عَذَابَ ٱلْجَحِيمِ
52:18
Delighted at the bestowal of their Lord; and their Lord has saved them from the fire. - Ahmed Raza Khan (English)
52:19
كُلُوا۟ وَٱشْرَبُوا۟ هَنِيٓـًٔۢا بِمَا كُنتُمْ تَعْمَلُونَ
52:19
“Eat and drink with pleasure, a reward for what you used to do.” - Ahmed Raza Khan (English)
52:20
مُتَّكِـِٔينَ عَلَىٰ سُرُرٍ مَّصْفُوفَةٍ ۖ وَزَوَّجْنَـٰهُم بِحُورٍ عِينٍ
52:20
Reclining on thrones, in rows; and We have wedded them to maidens with gorgeous eyes. - Ahmed Raza Khan (English)
52:21
وَٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ وَٱتَّبَعَتْهُمْ ذُرِّيَّتُهُم بِإِيمَـٰنٍ أَلْحَقْنَا بِهِمْ ذُرِّيَّتَهُمْ وَمَآ أَلَتْنَـٰهُم مِّنْ عَمَلِهِم مِّن شَىْءٍ ۚ كُلُّ ٱمْرِئٍۭ بِمَا كَسَبَ رَهِينٌ
52:21
And those who accepted faith, and whose descendants followed them with faith – We have joined their descendants with them, and have not reduced anything for them from their deeds; every soul is trapped in its own deeds. - Ahmed Raza Khan (English)
52:22
وَأَمْدَدْنَـٰهُم بِفَـٰكِهَةٍ وَلَحْمٍ مِّمَّا يَشْتَهُونَ
52:22
And We aided them with fruit and meat, whatever they desire. - Ahmed Raza Khan (English)
52:23
يَتَنَـٰزَعُونَ فِيهَا كَأْسًا لَّا لَغْوٌ فِيهَا وَلَا تَأْثِيمٌ
52:23
In it, they accept cups from each other, in which is neither any lewdness nor any sin. - Ahmed Raza Khan (English)
52:24
۞ وَيَطُوفُ عَلَيْهِمْ غِلْمَانٌ لَّهُمْ كَأَنَّهُمْ لُؤْلُؤٌ مَّكْنُونٌ
52:24
And their boy servants shall go around them, as if they were pearls, safely hidden. - Ahmed Raza Khan (English)
52:25
وَأَقْبَلَ بَعْضُهُمْ عَلَىٰ بَعْضٍ يَتَسَآءَلُونَ
52:25
And one of them turned towards the other, questioning. - Ahmed Raza Khan (English)
52:26
قَالُوٓا۟ إِنَّا كُنَّا قَبْلُ فِىٓ أَهْلِنَا مُشْفِقِينَ
52:26
Saying, “Indeed before this, we were in our houses, worried.” - Ahmed Raza Khan (English)
52:27
فَمَنَّ ٱللَّهُ عَلَيْنَا وَوَقَىٰنَا عَذَابَ ٱلسَّمُومِ
52:27
“So Allah did us a great favour, and saved us from the punishment of the flame.” - Ahmed Raza Khan (English)
52:28
إِنَّا كُنَّا مِن قَبْلُ نَدْعُوهُ ۖ إِنَّهُۥ هُوَ ٱلْبَرُّ ٱلرَّحِيمُ
52:28
“Indeed we used to worship Him in our previous life; indeed He only is the Benign, the Most Merciful.” - Ahmed Raza Khan (English)
52:29
فَذَكِّرْ فَمَآ أَنتَ بِنِعْمَتِ رَبِّكَ بِكَاهِنٍ وَلَا مَجْنُونٍ
52:29
Therefore (O dear Prophet Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him), enlighten, for by the munificence of your Lord, you are neither a soothsayer nor a madman. - Ahmed Raza Khan (English)
52:30
أَمْ يَقُولُونَ شَاعِرٌ نَّتَرَبَّصُ بِهِۦ رَيْبَ ٱلْمَنُونِ
52:30
Or they allege, “He is a poet – we await a calamity of the times to befall him.” - Ahmed Raza Khan (English)
52:31
قُلْ تَرَبَّصُوا۟ فَإِنِّى مَعَكُم مِّنَ ٱلْمُتَرَبِّصِينَ
52:31
Proclaim, “Go on waiting – I too am waiting along with you.” - Ahmed Raza Khan (English)
52:32
أَمْ تَأْمُرُهُمْ أَحْلَـٰمُهُم بِهَـٰذَآ ۚ أَمْ هُمْ قَوْمٌ طَاغُونَ
52:32
Is this what their senses tell them, or are they a rebellious people? - Ahmed Raza Khan (English)
52:33
أَمْ يَقُولُونَ تَقَوَّلَهُۥ ۚ بَل لَّا يُؤْمِنُونَ
52:33
What! They say, “He has invented the Qur'an”? Rather they do not have faith. - Ahmed Raza Khan (English)
52:34
فَلْيَأْتُوا۟ بِحَدِيثٍ مِّثْلِهِۦٓ إِن كَانُوا۟ صَـٰدِقِينَ
52:34
So let them bring a single discourse like it, if they are truthful. - Ahmed Raza Khan (English)
52:35
أَمْ خُلِقُوا۟ مِنْ غَيْرِ شَىْءٍ أَمْ هُمُ ٱلْخَـٰلِقُونَ
52:35
Have they not been created from some source, or are they themselves the creators? - Ahmed Raza Khan (English)
52:36
أَمْ خَلَقُوا۟ ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضَ ۚ بَل لَّا يُوقِنُونَ
52:36
Or did they create the heavens and the earth? Rather they are not certain. - Ahmed Raza Khan (English)
52:37
أَمْ عِندَهُمْ خَزَآئِنُ رَبِّكَ أَمْ هُمُ ٱلْمُصَۣيْطِرُونَ
52:37
Or do they have the treasures of your Lord, or are they the authority? - Ahmed Raza Khan (English)
52:38
أَمْ لَهُمْ سُلَّمٌ يَسْتَمِعُونَ فِيهِ ۖ فَلْيَأْتِ مُسْتَمِعُهُم بِسُلْطَـٰنٍ مُّبِينٍ
52:38
Or do they have any stairs, climbing upon which they eavesdrop? So their eavesdropper should bring some clear proof! - Ahmed Raza Khan (English)
52:39
أَمْ لَهُ ٱلْبَنَـٰتُ وَلَكُمُ ٱلْبَنُونَ
52:39
What! The daughters for Him, and the sons for you? - Ahmed Raza Khan (English)
52:40
أَمْ تَسْـَٔلُهُمْ أَجْرًا فَهُم مِّن مَّغْرَمٍ مُّثْقَلُونَ
52:40
Or do you (O dear Prophet Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him) ask any fee from them, so they are burdened with the penalty? - Ahmed Raza Khan (English)
52:41
أَمْ عِندَهُمُ ٱلْغَيْبُ فَهُمْ يَكْتُبُونَ
52:41
Or is the hidden with them, by which they pass judgements? - Ahmed Raza Khan (English)
52:42
أَمْ يُرِيدُونَ كَيْدًا ۖ فَٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ هُمُ ٱلْمَكِيدُونَ
52:42
Or are they planning a conspiracy? So the conspiracy will befall only upon the disbelievers. - Ahmed Raza Khan (English)
52:43
أَمْ لَهُمْ إِلَـٰهٌ غَيْرُ ٱللَّهِ ۚ سُبْحَـٰنَ ٱللَّهِ عَمَّا يُشْرِكُونَ
52:43
Or do they have a God besides Allah? Purity is to Allah from their ascribing of partners to Him. - Ahmed Raza Khan (English)
52:44
وَإِن يَرَوْا۟ كِسْفًا مِّنَ ٱلسَّمَآءِ سَاقِطًا يَقُولُوا۟ سَحَابٌ مَّرْكُومٌ
52:44
And were they to see a portion of the sky falling, they will say, “It is a heap of clouds.” - Ahmed Raza Khan (English)
52:45
فَذَرْهُمْ حَتَّىٰ يُلَـٰقُوا۟ يَوْمَهُمُ ٱلَّذِى فِيهِ يُصْعَقُونَ
52:45
Therefore leave them, until they confront their day, in which they will be stunned. - Ahmed Raza Khan (English)
52:46
يَوْمَ لَا يُغْنِى عَنْهُمْ كَيْدُهُمْ شَيْـًٔا وَلَا هُمْ يُنصَرُونَ
52:46
A day on which their scheming will not benefit them at all, nor will they be helped. - Ahmed Raza Khan (English)
52:47
وَإِنَّ لِلَّذِينَ ظَلَمُوا۟ عَذَابًا دُونَ ذَٰلِكَ وَلَـٰكِنَّ أَكْثَرَهُمْ لَا يَعْلَمُونَ
52:47
And indeed for the unjust is another punishment before this, but most of them do not know. (Punishment in the grave is proven by this verse.) - Ahmed Raza Khan (English)

وَٱصْبِرْ لِحُكْمِ رَبِّكَ فَإِنَّكَ بِأَعْيُنِنَا ۖ وَسَبِّحْ بِحَمْدِ رَبِّكَ حِينَ تَقُومُ
52:48
And be patient upon your Lord’s command, (O dear Prophet Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him), for you are indeed in Our sight; and proclaim the Purity of your Lord while praising Him, whenever you stand. - Ahmed Raza Khan (English)

وَمِنَ ٱلَّيْلِ فَسَبِّحْهُ وَإِدْبَـٰرَ ٱلنُّجُومِ
52:49
And proclaim His Purity during the night, and when the stars turn back. - Ahmed Raza Khan (English)
