بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful.
52:1
وَٱلطُّورِ
52:1
By the Mount - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
52:2
وَكِتَـٰبٍ مَّسْطُورٍ
52:2
and by the Book in lines - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
52:3
فِى رَقٍّ مَّنشُورٍ
52:3
in an exposed parchment - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
52:4
وَٱلْبَيْتِ ٱلْمَعْمُورِ
52:4
by the Visited House, - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
52:5
وَٱلسَّقْفِ ٱلْمَرْفُوعِ
52:5
and the uplifted roof - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
52:6
وَٱلْبَحْرِ ٱلْمَسْجُورِ
52:6
and the sea that is full - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
52:7
إِنَّ عَذَابَ رَبِّكَ لَوَٰقِعٌ
52:7
surely, the punishment of your Lord is about to come, - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
52:8
مَّا لَهُۥ مِن دَافِعٍ
52:8
there is none to prevent it. - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
52:9
يَوْمَ تَمُورُ ٱلسَّمَآءُ مَوْرًا
52:9
Upon the Day when the heaven spins dizzily - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
52:10
وَتَسِيرُ ٱلْجِبَالُ سَيْرًا
52:10
and the mountains move, moving. - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
52:11
فَوَيْلٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ لِّلْمُكَذِّبِينَ
52:11
On that Day woe to those who belied - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
52:12
ٱلَّذِينَ هُمْ فِى خَوْضٍ يَلْعَبُونَ
52:12
those who are in plunging, playing. - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
52:13
يَوْمَ يُدَعُّونَ إِلَىٰ نَارِ جَهَنَّمَ دَعًّا
52:13
On that Day when they shall be pitched into the Fire of Gehenna (Hell), - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
52:14
هَـٰذِهِ ٱلنَّارُ ٱلَّتِى كُنتُم بِهَا تُكَذِّبُونَ
52:14
(it will be said to them): 'This is the Fire which you belied! - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
52:15
أَفَسِحْرٌ هَـٰذَآ أَمْ أَنتُمْ لَا تُبْصِرُونَ
52:15
Is this magic, or is it that you do you not see? - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
52:16
ٱصْلَوْهَا فَٱصْبِرُوٓا۟ أَوْ لَا تَصْبِرُوا۟ سَوَآءٌ عَلَيْكُمْ ۖ إِنَّمَا تُجْزَوْنَ مَا كُنتُمْ تَعْمَلُونَ
52:16
Roast in it, bear it with or without patience, it is the same, you are only being recompensed for that which you used to do' - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
52:17
إِنَّ ٱلْمُتَّقِينَ فِى جَنَّـٰتٍ وَنَعِيمٍ
52:17
But in the Gardens the righteous shall live in bliss, - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
52:18
فَـٰكِهِينَ بِمَآ ءَاتَىٰهُمْ رَبُّهُمْ وَوَقَىٰهُمْ رَبُّهُمْ عَذَابَ ٱلْجَحِيمِ
52:18
rejoicing in all their Lord has given them, and their Lord will guard them against the punishment of Hell. - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
52:19
كُلُوا۟ وَٱشْرَبُوا۟ هَنِيٓـًٔۢا بِمَا كُنتُمْ تَعْمَلُونَ
52:19
(It will be said): 'Eat and drink with a good appetite because of that which you did' - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
52:20
مُتَّكِـِٔينَ عَلَىٰ سُرُرٍ مَّصْفُوفَةٍ ۖ وَزَوَّجْنَـٰهُم بِحُورٍ عِينٍ
52:20
(They shall be) reclining on couches ranged in rows and We shall wed them to houris (virgins of Paradise) with large wide eyes. - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
52:21
وَٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ وَٱتَّبَعَتْهُمْ ذُرِّيَّتُهُم بِإِيمَـٰنٍ أَلْحَقْنَا بِهِمْ ذُرِّيَّتَهُمْ وَمَآ أَلَتْنَـٰهُم مِّنْ عَمَلِهِم مِّن شَىْءٍ ۚ كُلُّ ٱمْرِئٍۭ بِمَا كَسَبَ رَهِينٌ
52:21
Those who believe, and whose descendants follow in belief, We will join their descendants to them. And We will not reduce them of anything of their deeds. Every one is pledged for what he has earned. - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
52:22
وَأَمْدَدْنَـٰهُم بِفَـٰكِهَةٍ وَلَحْمٍ مِّمَّا يَشْتَهُونَ
52:22
We shall give them fruits and meat as they desire. - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
52:23
يَتَنَـٰزَعُونَ فِيهَا كَأْسًا لَّا لَغْوٌ فِيهَا وَلَا تَأْثِيمٌ
52:23
There they will pass a goblet to one another with neither idle talk nor sin, - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
52:24
۞ وَيَطُوفُ عَلَيْهِمْ غِلْمَانٌ لَّهُمْ كَأَنَّهُمْ لُؤْلُؤٌ مَّكْنُونٌ
52:24
and youths, of their own, shall pass among them as if they were hidden pearls. - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
52:25
وَأَقْبَلَ بَعْضُهُمْ عَلَىٰ بَعْضٍ يَتَسَآءَلُونَ
52:25
They will go to one another asking each other questions: - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
52:26
قَالُوٓا۟ إِنَّا كُنَّا قَبْلُ فِىٓ أَهْلِنَا مُشْفِقِينَ
52:26
'When we were among our people' they will say, 'we were ever fearful, - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
52:27
فَمَنَّ ٱللَّهُ عَلَيْنَا وَوَقَىٰنَا عَذَابَ ٱلسَّمُومِ
52:27
but Allah has been gracious to us and has protected us from the punishment of the burning wind. - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
52:28
إِنَّا كُنَّا مِن قَبْلُ نَدْعُوهُ ۖ إِنَّهُۥ هُوَ ٱلْبَرُّ ٱلرَّحِيمُ
52:28
Before, we were supplicating to Him. He is the Giving, the Most Merciful' - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
52:29
فَذَكِّرْ فَمَآ أَنتَ بِنِعْمَتِ رَبِّكَ بِكَاهِنٍ وَلَا مَجْنُونٍ
52:29
Therefore, remind. By the Favor of Allah, you are neither a soothsayer, nor mad. - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
52:30
أَمْ يَقُولُونَ شَاعِرٌ نَّتَرَبَّصُ بِهِۦ رَيْبَ ٱلْمَنُونِ
52:30
Or do they say: 'He is a poet, we are waiting for some misfortune to befall him' - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
52:31
قُلْ تَرَبَّصُوا۟ فَإِنِّى مَعَكُم مِّنَ ٱلْمُتَرَبِّصِينَ
52:31
Say: 'Wait if you will; I shall be waiting with you' - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
52:32
أَمْ تَأْمُرُهُمْ أَحْلَـٰمُهُم بِهَـٰذَآ ۚ أَمْ هُمْ قَوْمٌ طَاغُونَ
52:32
Or, do their intellects order them to do this? Or, are they an insolent people? - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
52:33
أَمْ يَقُولُونَ تَقَوَّلَهُۥ ۚ بَل لَّا يُؤْمِنُونَ
52:33
Do they say: 'He has invented it' No, they do not believe. - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
52:34
فَلْيَأْتُوا۟ بِحَدِيثٍ مِّثْلِهِۦٓ إِن كَانُوا۟ صَـٰدِقِينَ
52:34
Let them produce a phrase like it, if what they say is true! - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
52:35
أَمْ خُلِقُوا۟ مِنْ غَيْرِ شَىْءٍ أَمْ هُمُ ٱلْخَـٰلِقُونَ
52:35
Or, were they created out of nothing? Or, were they their own creators? - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
52:36
أَمْ خَلَقُوا۟ ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضَ ۚ بَل لَّا يُوقِنُونَ
52:36
Or, did they create the heavens and the earth? No, their belief is not certain! - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
52:37
أَمْ عِندَهُمْ خَزَآئِنُ رَبِّكَ أَمْ هُمُ ٱلْمُصَۣيْطِرُونَ
52:37
Or, are the treasures of your Lord in their keeping? Or, are they the controllers? - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
52:38
أَمْ لَهُمْ سُلَّمٌ يَسْتَمِعُونَ فِيهِ ۖ فَلْيَأْتِ مُسْتَمِعُهُم بِسُلْطَـٰنٍ مُّبِينٍ
52:38
Or, do they have a ladder on which they listen? Then let any of them that has listened bring a clear authority. - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
52:39
أَمْ لَهُ ٱلْبَنَـٰتُ وَلَكُمُ ٱلْبَنُونَ
52:39
Or, has He daughters, and they sons? - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
52:40
أَمْ تَسْـَٔلُهُمْ أَجْرًا فَهُم مِّن مَّغْرَمٍ مُّثْقَلُونَ
52:40
Or, do you ask them for a wage, so that they become weighed down in debt? - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
52:41
أَمْ عِندَهُمُ ٱلْغَيْبُ فَهُمْ يَكْتُبُونَ
52:41
Or, is the Unseen in their keeping, so they are writing it down? - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
52:42
أَمْ يُرِيدُونَ كَيْدًا ۖ فَٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ هُمُ ٱلْمَكِيدُونَ
52:42
Or, do they desire to outwit? The unbelievers are the outwitted. - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
52:43
أَمْ لَهُمْ إِلَـٰهٌ غَيْرُ ٱللَّهِ ۚ سُبْحَـٰنَ ٱللَّهِ عَمَّا يُشْرِكُونَ
52:43
Or, do they have a god, other than Allah? Exaltations to Allah above that which they associate! - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
52:44
وَإِن يَرَوْا۟ كِسْفًا مِّنَ ٱلسَّمَآءِ سَاقِطًا يَقُولُوا۟ سَحَابٌ مَّرْكُومٌ
52:44
Even if they saw lumps falling from the sky they would say: 'A massed cloud' - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
52:45
فَذَرْهُمْ حَتَّىٰ يُلَـٰقُوا۟ يَوْمَهُمُ ٱلَّذِى فِيهِ يُصْعَقُونَ
52:45
So leave them till they encounter their Day in which they shall be thunderstruck. - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
52:46
يَوْمَ لَا يُغْنِى عَنْهُمْ كَيْدُهُمْ شَيْـًٔا وَلَا هُمْ يُنصَرُونَ
52:46
The Day when their guile shall not relieve them a thing, and they shall not be helped. - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
52:47
وَإِنَّ لِلَّذِينَ ظَلَمُوا۟ عَذَابًا دُونَ ذَٰلِكَ وَلَـٰكِنَّ أَكْثَرَهُمْ لَا يَعْلَمُونَ
52:47
For the harmdoers there is indeed, a punishment before that, but most of them do not know. - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
52:48
وَٱصْبِرْ لِحُكْمِ رَبِّكَ فَإِنَّكَ بِأَعْيُنِنَا ۖ وَسَبِّحْ بِحَمْدِ رَبِّكَ حِينَ تَقُومُ
52:48
And be patient under the Judgement of your Lord, surely, you are before Our Eyes. And exalt with the praise of your Lord when you arise, - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
52:49
وَمِنَ ٱلَّيْلِ فَسَبِّحْهُ وَإِدْبَـٰرَ ٱلنُّجُومِ
52:49
and exalt Him in the night and at the declining of the stars. - Hasan al-Fatih Qaribullah and Ahmad Darwish (English)
